A space to discuss FME Form

By referring to the article Creating a Custom Format and section Using the Custom Format Wizard, I have created a custom format along with few (Published) user parameters. However, when consumed the custom format via Workspace Resources of a new FME workbench, user parameters those were created in the custom format were not appearing. Did I miss anything here? I was expected to see the user parameters that I have created in custom format. Enclosed the .FDS that I have created. Hi, I'm following the FME Basic course, here exercise Flood Risk Project within the module Use Conditional Value. In the course text the Inspector result is shown in the picture attached here ("... Inspector according to exercise").However, in my FME the outcome is different (see "... Inspector"): other names and 3 items instead of 5 items.I checked the conditional values used in the AttributeManager several times, it is exact the same as in the course text (see "... Conditional Value" Any thoughts?
I have 3 tables, a linear tables of sections, a non geometric table of bus lines, and a intermediate table between both, with relations N:M. I need to merge the sections to get the geometry of bus lines. but some of the sections belongs to many bus lines, so I need to "duplicate" some of the sections. Any idea of how to get the geometry of bus lines? Thank you again
@Dale Lutz @donatsafe Hi Guys - can someone tell me if the home use licence is still available. I have just tried to get a new licence and been told that the home use program no longer exists. However, when safe did their rebranding the question was asked about the home use licences and Don and Dale said it would continue. Can someone please confirm which is correct...
HelloIs it possible to create user parameters and save them for use in other workbenches?I have numerous workbenches that all load different data however some of the parameters will be the same and used in every workbench.I have looked at the documentation, but cant see anything obvious. If these created parameters could be saved to either a database, or file to allow sharing with others that would be even better...RegardsAndy
Hello,on the SchemaScanner transformer, in the data types section, there is a parameter to define the action to be taken for attributes with the value Missing/Null/Empty.When ignore is selected, if an attribute has no entry, it is excluded from the schema. This seems correct for Missing. But is this the case for Null and Empty? In the latter case, shouldn't the attribute remain in the data model? If not, what other prossibility exists for retaining an attribute that has no value entry in the data model? Best regardsPatrick
Hi there,I'm trying to Update a Scene Layer in ArcGIS Portal for Enterprise. While I'm able to delete the existing Scene Layer, update the existing Scene Layer Package and sharing it, the step of publishing fails. The error Message is: PUBLISH_ERRORThere was an error while publishing the item: ERROR 000800: The value is not a member of SHAPEFILE | CSV | SD | SERVICEDEFINITION | FEATURECOLLECTION | FEATURESERVICE | MAPSERVICE | FILEGEODATABASE | SQLITEGEODATABASE | SCENEPACKAGE | GEOPACKAGE | GEOJSON | TILEPACKAGE | VECTORTILEPACKAGE | EXCEL | COMPACTTILEPACKAGE. Failed. I can select the Scene Layer Package in the ArcGISOnline Connector. If I publish the Scene Layer Package, that I uploaded with FME, directly in the Portal, it works fine. A Scene Layer (hosted) is produced. However, if I try it with the ArcGISOnline Connector it fails and produces an empty "Feature Layer (hosted)". I think this could be somehow the problem. It tries to produce a Feature Layer instead o
I am reading into my workbench both dwg and dgn files using two feature readers. I am able to expose the fme_dataset for the dgn file by using an attributeExposer transformer, but the fme_dataset will not be exposed for the dwg files. I am able to get the fme_feature_type and fme_text_string for each FeatureReader. But I want to add the file name (fme_basename) as an attribute to each feature so I know what file it came from. Things I have tried:separate AttributeExposer transformers for each FeatureReaderThe same AttributeExposer transformers for both FeatureReadersAdding fme_basename to the <Generic> Port, along with $(SourceDataset_DWG)checking all of the needed options in Reader > Parameters > Schema AttributesWhen I open the inspector after the Exposer, all of the attribute fields are there but the values are empty. All of this information (file name, project name) comes from published user parameters. How can I add the value for these user parameters into my features
I am using the OpenAIChatGPTConnector in my workbench. I thought that I provided all the correct parameters. But I get the log error: OpenAIChatGPTConnector_HTTPCaller: An error occurred while accessing the URL 'https://api.openai... What might be wrong?
Hello!I know there are quite a few posts on the subject, but despite everything, I could not apply the solutions to my information.I have a worksheet that produces an ffs file for me, attached, (I changed the names in Hebrew to letters and numbers..)The file represents a neighborhood by type of consumption and amount of water consumed in it.my output is this: How can I Transpose it into this:(The number 1288.64 as a generic representative of consumption..)I would really appreciate your help! The excel file here represents an idea, at the end I write the FFS file for other formats..
I want to generate a textured plane top-down projection from a mesh. Like a raster equivalent for the SurfaceFootprintReplacer, which would derive a footprint polygon. Is there a transformer for that use case?
I wan to connect to a REST-API with a WebConnection (Token Service), but it doesn't work with the paramters i use. The same parameter in a HTTPCaller are working. Any Idea whats wrong? The token is assingned to the key "jwt". I use FME 2023.1. Example Settings for the HTTPCallerRequest URL: https:www.test-example.com/backend/api/AUTH/login HTTP Method: POST Headers: Accept text/plain Upload Body: {"email":username@test.com, "password":"12345"} Content Type: JSON (application/json) And the answer looks like (the values are not real) { "user": { "id": "123qw14-a666-222e-777a-a123fg2f12ad", "email": "usename@test.com", ... }, "jwt": "0a80da980d80a7f7sd073", "userConfiguration": null, "globalConfigurati

Hi everyone, So basically, my workflow has a httpcaller to make an API call and let's say the call returns a text "yes" or "no" but it takes a while for the call to be completed to return "yes".That's why I wanna do a for loop to make the request every 5 mins until "yes" is returned. Please let me know how I can do this or feel free to suggest a better way if possible. Thanks so much!
I have an FME process that requires me to read in an AGOL feature service that includes attachments and write the data and attachments to tables in an Enterprise SDE database on our servers. I've gotten this entire process to work on a smaller copy of some of this data, but for some reason when I run the process on the larger set of the data, none of the attachments that exist on the hosted feature layer are read by the reader at all. I definitely have "Include Attachments" turned on, and I've exposed all of the attachment related attributes: everything is identical in the FME process to the one that functions properly. There are some minor differences in the way these layers were uploaded to ArcGIS online, so I'm just wondering if there's ANYTHING on that end that could be causing this problem.
I have a viewer with layers in ETRS89 and want to add a WFS layer in ED50. I need to convert the co ordinate system in the cloud before it reaches ArcGIS Online so that everything is in ETRS89. What writer and transformer should I use? Is there a relevant tutorial (name please!)
In the UK we are able to download energy performance certificates from the following government website. Energy Performance of Buildings Data England and Wales (opendatacommunities.org)Unfortunately you need to register to gain access but its very straightforward.Within there is access to an api, which I have tried to use within FME to automate the downloading of these certificates for a local authority area, but always get a failure. Can anyone else connect to this API and download certificates and if so how. Sorry i cant paste the API but it changes for each user... Regards
Hi, I'm following the FME Desktop Basic training, now doing exercise "Flood Risk Project" (under "Use Conditional Values"). As it is clear that I'm newbie to FME, so maybe this is a stupid question: where can I find the parameter "Elevation"? See pics attached here. This parameter is not listed in the AttributeManager, nor in other Read items. The FME workspace can be found here. Maybe I overlooked something?
I have created a workspace which reads all CSV files from a zip file selected for a file user parameter by using $(ZIPFILE)[**\\*.csv] as the dataset in a FeatureReader. This works as intended in Desktop, but will not run on our FME Server (tried with FME Server 2021.2.5 and FME Flow 2023.0.2). In both cases, the CSV reader fails to open the file, which is being stored in a temp upload directory specific to the workspace file name, including the ".fmw" extension. I currently believe that the ".fmw" in the directory path is causing the issue, as I am able to run the workspace successfully when I add the file to another FME Server Resources directory and browse to the file instead of uploading when attempting to run the workspace. Is there any way to specify where the file gets stored when being uploaded from the Run Workspace page or via a server app? Any other way I might be able to get this to work as intended?
I'm looking for some help with creating a Bridge in CityGML with two BridgeParts. Those BridgeParts can consists of one or more other objecttypes like BridgeConstructionElements. I've tried many things, but I can not figure out how to create the hierarchy of all the components in CityGML...Of course using the gml_id and gml_parent_id to connect elements, but unfortunately this somehow doesn't work out the right way. Anyone ?Like to share the final solution! What I like to see is a hierarchy:one bridgeconsists of two bridgepartswhereas different bridge elements like constructionelements can be found in both 'bridge' and the two bridgeparts So, something like this (simplified of course):<Bridge gml_id: BRIDGE> Bridgepart gml_id = part_1 gml_parent_id = BRIDGE BridgeConstructionElement gml_id = 563456 gml_parent_id = part_1 BridgeConstructionElement gml_id = 373648 gml_parent_id = part_1 BridgeConstructionElement gml_id = 238656 gml_parent_id = part_1 BridgePart gml_id = p
We had numerous SQL Creators based on JDBC connections that worked in both FME Desktop and FME Server. We are in the process of migrating our SQL Creators from JDBC to Microsoft SQL Server Non-Spatial (ADO). In doing so their SQL continues to perform well in Form, but now generates Warnings when executed on Flow. The Warning takes the following form:"Microsoft SQL Server Non-Spatial Reader: Getting Custom SQL schema failed. Custom SQL query 'SELECT ... WHERE ... ORDER BY ...' may execute in an unexpected manner. Make sure all columns are named (any ambiguous columns, e.g. GEOM.STBuffer(1), must have an AS clause). If there is an ORDER BY clause, either remove it or add a TOP clause." Removing the ORDER BY does eliminate the Warnings generated on Flow. However we enjoyed using the power of the database to presort the records prior to being transformed within the workspace. Why is ORDER BY incompatible with Microsoft SQL Server Non-Spatial (ADO), and what other altern
how can I adjust the tolerance or script to account for the hard turns with the wind radii and wind forecast graphic? I want it to get rid of the extra space when there is a turn see below picture:
Hello,I have an sde database containing hundreds of feature classes, in which each feature class has an attribute containing a document reference.I would like to be able to read the first row of attributes from each feature class so that I can check the document reference. My current workflow uses the SQLExecutor to extract all of the feature class names. Then the names are passed to a FeatureReader to read in each feature class, with the 'Max features to read' set to '1' to save reading more attributes than required. However, this is still taking a long time to process all the feature classes. Is it possible to do all of this in SQL?
How can I assign user parameters via a file? I have a large number of parameters and they all need to be pre-assigned. However, the content of the parameters can change. Therefore a variable solution is needed
