Hi all,We overlay/intersect datasets containing circular arc geometry (Arc By Center Point With Ends) using AreaOnAreaOverlayer, LineOnAreaOverlayer, LineOnLineOverlayer, Clipper, and Intersector.  The source data comes from an ArcGIS Geodatabase (ESRI SDE). We'd like to understand how these transformers handle arcs internally, since this directly affects positional accuracy for our (cadastral-grade) use case.Specific question:When an arc is intersected with a line or polygon (Arc By Center Point With Ends -> overlay -> output is again Arc By Center Point With Ends), is the intersection point computed:(a) analytically/exactly on the true circle equation, comparable to Esri's ArcGIS Pro "Curve Processing Method = Exact" environment setting, or(b) by internally linearizing/approximating the arc into line segments, finding the intersection on that approximation, and then reassembling the arc for the output — comparable to Esri's "Curve Processing Method = Approximate", where the doc

Hi brains trust!Does anyone know how to determine how 2 x polygon geometry might change being passed into Change Detector original vs revised. I’ve set Check Geometry with the parameters to be lenient and using 1.5m tolerance for exampleI know how to explain the change list, exploding and keeping these attributegeometryObject has changed, but how muchI had considered extracting the geometry of orig and revised to an attribute, then passing it into AreaOnAreaOverlayer? GeometryExtractor / Clipper arrangement Calculating the area to attribute and comparing differences in attribute values I’m trying to see if Geometry Concepts traits can be used here?Any thoughts?

Hi,I tried this through the V4 REST API, but when I add a conditional statement to the Request URL, I’m seeing <not specified> in the Request Preview for the URL.I also noticed something in the Automating FME Flow App Customization article. They created a user parameter named SOURCE_FILE, but in the Request URL they use UPLOAD_FILE.Could you please clarify why these parameter names are different and how the conditional statement should be configured in the Request URL?Thanks!  

Hi, I am having an issue with writing out data as .txt pipe delimited in the exact same format as the original data. The original data used a CSV reader in order to work with the attributes I needed to modify. But when I try to write it out again as .txt, the format is never exactly the same. I have tried padding the fields, but it does not work. Example:Original-# gbaddr field view OutputAlso, in the output, it continues to add a pipe (|) to the end of each record; the original did not and I need it to not add it in the output.  Any ideas are welcome!

So I noticed that when using a parameterized INSERT statement in SQL Executor:INSERT INTO MYTABLE(FIELD1, FIELD2)VALUES ('@Value(FMEATTR1)','@Value(FMEATTR2)',)Any NULL becomes an empty string. How do I use logic like the above and still keep my NULLs? I've tried to wrap the entries in VALUES in case statements to catch NULLs and handle them differently - but to no avail. 

I often find myself reusing subprocesses from my main workspace, either for debugging or for creating similar workflows with small changes in a new Workspace. I'm aware that FME has a ton of useful shortcuts, so I was wondering if there's one that lets you automatically select all the necessary(only!) transformers that belong to a previously used process. The idea would be to quickly copy and paste the used chain into a new workspace without having to manually select every necessary transformer or just copy paste all. Is there a shortcut or built-in feature for this, or is manually selecting the chain still the best approach? I feel like this is most likely highly specific to my own taste but I wanted to ask nevertheless since the main process got way too big :DThanks in advance! :)

Hi,I’m using FME 2026.1.1 Build 26121.I have observed strange behavior of SQLCreator today.User attributes which are created using “Create User Parameter” option are not getting saved (Step3.jpg). If we create then though “Manage User Parameters” and add user parameter with text option. User parameter is saved in user parameters in navigator but SQLCreator is saving the user name or password. Two screenshots are attached for reference with names step1 and Step2.This issue I have seen just today and everything is fine till yesterday. Even I entered the username and password as constant values directly, values which are entered are not saved. When I open the SQLCreator constant values are not saved. Waiting for response...Thank you! 

I am running into a issue with OffsetCurveGenerator. There are some instances where it drops nodes from the original linework and breaks the output line into an aggregate, I assume this is beacuse it folds on itself.The uppermost grey line below is the original. The green lines are generated offsets at various distances. Note that the one at the bottom has lost a vertice towards the corner. The linecount coming out of the transformer is correct, but if I run a deaggregator, the total number of lines has increased. As the red line illustrates it has split at the corner. This is not an issue in most occurrences, but I want to run some Snippers on the start and end vertex downstream and the Snipper treats the lines as if they where deaggregated. I tried working around this by first running a Deaggerator followed by a LineCombiner. But if I do the lines sometimes flip their original direction (depending on the order in which it was rebuilt), which results in the end vertexes I wanted to sn

Hi,I’ve created an FME workflow which successfully creates a csv and zipped shapefile and emails a recipient. However, I want to use the TempPathnameCreator so that the output files are wiped after emailing. I’ve adapted the workflow but it fails to create the files. On inspecting the rejected email output it couldn’t find the files in the temp folder, but when testing with just the writer 0 features are output. I assume I need a separate TempPathnameCreator for both zip and csv file or can they be in the same folder? Here is the final part of my workflow. Is my configuration wrong? Josh

Hi Community!I created some 3D vectors made up of three vertices, using the list of coordinates and elevations shown in the attached table. I created them using three Vertex Creators connected one after another.Now I would like to apply a scale factor of 10 to these 3D vectors, but I want each vector to be extended starting from its first vertex, i.e. from the coordinates (0,0,0), while keeping that first vertex fixed.What would be the best way to achieve this?Thanks in advance for your help!

Hi Folks,Almost weekend and we got a bit of a strange situation. We have a Flow App that is being used by most of our users. They upload a GeoJSON and select if they want Aerial Imagery or Topographic Background. The result is a generated PDF Map.This process works fine for all but one user. Hello!We are using Flow FME 2026.1.2. I would like an overview of when most automations trigger. Unfortunately, there isn't much information about it in the documentation, so I did some research and found this post:I tried it and now I'm experiencing some really strange behaviour. Until today, I could run all the API requests I ever needed and get results. I can even run FMEURL/fmeapiv4/schedules?limit=100&offset. What I can’t run is the solution in the thread:FMEURL/fmeapiv4/schedules?limit=100&offset=0&sourceType=automationAs soon as I add 'sourceType' as a parameter, I get the following result:{"message":"Unauthorized request by user USERNAME due to lack of proper permissions or the object does not exist."} Do I need special privileges to use this parameter? Hi all, When sending a test request with a HTTPCaller, the Test Response Preview shows the response. When you close this window and reopen it later after closing and re-opening the workspace (even on another date) this response is still there (cached?). Depending on the URL used, this can lead to an unreasonably large workspace file. Is this an intended feature, or an oversight that can slow down workspace performance if a user isn’t aware of this?If there is a benefit to being able to revisit this test response at a later date, maybe it’s a good idea to be able to enable/disable this feature entirely. I have a workspace that works without issues in FME 2024.2.1. We are planning to upgrade to FME 2025, but I am facing issues. I have created a very simple workspace with a creator which creates a line and writes it to a GeoPackage using a FeatureWriter.The line is 2D, no measures, but the geometry type in the resulting GeoPackage is reported by ogrinfo as “3D Measured Multi Curve”.I would expect the result to be a 2D LineString instead - or maybe just LineString. As seen in the image I have exported the geometry to WKT and it indeed reports it as “LINESTRING (400000 6040000,900000 6400000)”.Is this the expected behaviour and is the FeatureWriter geometry type detection headed towards the broadest category for data instead of a more narrow approach?The test has been done using FME Form 2026.2 (26333) on Windows.

I read in a PoinCloud with Component x,y and z_2025_gem. The year changes as time passes by so I use a Parameter to define the component. For reading the point cloud, the component is read as z_$(JAAR)_gem. That works fine.When I want to use a User Parameter within the expression of the poincloudfilter I get an error on Flow but when I try it on Form with default values for the parameters, it works fine. If I try the workspace with default values on Flow it works fine as well.I checked the values for the Parameters on Flow by sending an email to myself with the values of the Parameters and the values are fine. So I guess that cannot be the problem. I've got a few challenges concerning styling of an excelsheet. It's not just an ordinary sheet with columns and rows, but it's a reporting template. The report contains several attributes in different fields and several images. The issues/challenges I'm currently facing:I would like images to fit itself into a named range or predefined rows and columns. See screenshot below. I created a predefined named range ‘overzichtskaart’ which covers cells $C$4:$E$16. But as far as I can see there is no option to let FME/Excel know that the image should stay in those cells. I created a workaround now which tells the image that it should align in xlsx_row_id 4 and xlsx_col_id2 with a height and with of 255 pixels. But this goes wrong as soon as the alignment of the attributes changes (for example multirow text in column B). Does anyone have a smart work-around to fit the image exactly in the desired cells? Named ranges are useful to make sure that the attribute-data ends up in the right cell, but

Hello,Last night a forced .NET framework update disrupted a huge AutoCAD based translation.Now today, even after an uninstall and reinstall of FME, the workbenches i build are painfully slow and i ultimately cancel any processing because initiating translations just takes so much longer than it did yesterday.When i try and place an AutoCAD reader onto my Canvas, i get a message of ‘Trying to find a DYNAMIC plugin for reader named ‘ACAD’’. Ultimately the reader loads, but it is significantly slower than it was yesterday.The readers and transformers i place on the canvas are also extremely slow and when i try and run the workbench, the ‘Trying to find a DYNAMIC plugin for reader named ‘ACAD’ appears for a considerable amount of time again before eventually doing what i’ve asked. Has anyone experienced this issue before and know the root cause? Thank you in advance!

Hi there,I am importing connections from an older deployment of FME Flow into Form, in order to publish to a new FME Flow. When I do so their names are locked to whatever they were named before.  These names do not confirm to our new naming convention.  It would be helpful to be able to rename Web and DB connections in Form. I understand this would possibly break workspaces referencing this, but this is a risk I am willing to take.

Hi,Is there any way to optimize the FME Inspector?In my case, I'm opening a DWG containing approximately 600,000 features, and it takes nearly 7 minutes to open.It appears that the Inspector indexes all attribute columns when the dataset is loaded. In some cases, I don't think this is necessary, especially when working with very large datasets.It would be great to have an option to disable attribute indexing for large datasets, or even better, allow users to select which attributes should be indexed when needed. I believe this could significantly improve loading performance for large files.Is there already an option to control this behavior, or would this be a good feature request?Thanks!

Every night we run make backup of the FME FLow (2025.2.2) system configuration. Since a couple of days this results in an error: | An error occurred: Topic SYSTEMEVENT_ERROR_LOG does not exist..No backup is created. When trying to start the backup manually, the result is the same Does anybody have an idea of what may cause this?

I have an FME Flow 2026.1.1 Automation that runs a series of FME Form workspaces. The 1st workspace grabs data from an AGOL Hosted Feature Service. This automation runs every 30 days. But, every time it runs it gives me an AGOL re-authorization error. Then I need to go into the FME Form workspace and sign back into AGOL and republish to FME Flow. What is the best way to keep signed into AGOL for more than 30 days using FME? is there something I need to do in FME Flow, if so, what? I am the admin of our AGOL account. I know I can use a token, but are these good for more than 30 days or just 2 weeks? It would be nice if could stay signed in a year or longer that way the automation would run without the AGOL re-authorization error. 

I am reading many jxl files. Each jxl has a "CoordinateSystemRecord". 1 for each file. howver this is not a standardized CS as recognized by fme.It has an attribute for ZoneName which is a text value like "New Mexico East 3001" and a SystemName attribute like "US State Plane 1983". How can I use these to set the coordinate system value as the file is read?i currently have the coordinatesystemextractor transformer in my wb. but the value is empty. 

We have a hosted feature layer that we update via FME on a schedule. It worked fine until we made a view layer of the hosted feature layer. Now we get an HTTP Error Code: 400 saying 'Cannot remove Layer 0 from <layer name>. Layer 0 is referenced by view service <layer name view>.'  In the writer we’re using Feature Operation: Insert and Feature Handling: Use Existing. We’ve also tried changing this to Truncate Existing which still didn’t work. What is the correct workflow for updating a hosted feature service if the feature service has view layers? 

Hi everyone,After upgrading our FME Flow instance from 2025.2 to 2026.2, a workspace parameter with dynamic values stopped working in a Workspace App.When opening the app, FME Flow shows the following error when testing the dynamic parameters:Loading from WorkspaceKartenautomatisierungen/Kartenautomatisierung_ZUBA_PreScript_2.fmwError loading schemaUnable to generate dynamic parameters from source file.Error was:E:\appdata\fme\systemshare\resources\system\null\null\FeatureWriter\ZUBA.jsonPlease ensure the file exists and is readable. A few observations:The same setup worked without issues in FME Flow 2025.2. The workspace itself executes successfully. It loads the JSON after the workspace is done.  The error only occurs while loading the dynamic workspace parameter. The path contains system\null\null\FeatureWriter\ZUBA.json, and the corresponding folders do not exist. I never configured FME to write schema files to that location.Has anyone seen a similar issue after upgrading to 2026.2
