Have a WKT csv, with lines like these two: MULTIPOLYGON (((3.751446328848148 51.09789238333794,3.7514744771186774 51.09785395106413,3.7515454118479563 51.09787454834335)),((3.7486227439488014 51.10188366613414,3.7471867226749627 51.101468672794745,3.745208081250554 51.1041693453312)));2003001POLYGON ((3.743757864908372 51.08620899834685,3.744266505912946 51.0833952986076,3.7433015994552856 51.08332946064444));2003002However, the receiving software can only handle multipolygons. So in the second line, I need to replace “POLYGON” bij “MULTIPOLYGON” (which is easy), but also the two opening round brackets “((“ need to be replaced by three opening round brackets “(((“ and the same for the closing brackets.I don’t seem to find a way of escaping the brackets. Even in regex expressions FME interprets the brackets as real brackets and not characters to look for.Can anyone help here? 

Hi FME Folks,I’m working with a georeferenced PDF that contains several annotations/marked-up text. I also have an existing point shapefile/point feature class.My requirement is to:Read the georeferenced PDF in FME. Extract the annotation text. Get the location/coordinates of each annotation. Transfer the extracted annotation text to the corresponding point feature in the shapefile. Write the annotation text into an attribute field of the point feature class.Has anyone implemented a similar workflow in FME?I would appreciate any suggestions on the appropriate FME reader/transformers or the best approach to extract both the annotation text and its spatial location from a georeferenced PDF.Thanks in advance for your suggestions!Anand 

Hi.  I’ve created a workbench that reads information from a PDF file, processes that content, then writes it to a database.  This works as expected, either when run locally or from within FME Flow.  However, it only processes one file at a time.  So, to rectify this as a local process, I have created a separate workbench that uses a ‘Directory and File Pathnames’ reader to read PDF files from a named folder, then passes these individually to the original PDF-processing workbench (via a WorkspaceRunner).  This, too, works as expected.  However, being local, it’s slow.So, it would be good to replicate this, so that it instead makes its requests to FME Flow, via an FMEFlowJobSubmitter.  And...this is where I get stuck, as it requires each PDF file to be uploaded to that server, in sequence.  Looking at the documentation, it seems that an HTTPCaller is the preferred way to achieve this, but I’m not sure that I understand how this needs to work in practice.  So, has anyone done anything sim

Hi, I am migrating an FME Flow Azure AD web service from FME Form 2025.0.1 to 2026.3.0.0 (Build 26589). The upgrade to FME 2026 introduced the redirect strategy, due to removal of embedded browser, which was working previously, so I know the details I’ve used should work. Error:I’m using no secret. I’ve tested using both Loopback Interface Redirect and Proxy Redirect, same result on both. Everything has been set up following instructions outlined in: https://support.safe.com/hc/en-us/articles/39450156608781-External-Browser-Authentication-in-FME-Form  I’ve set up everything as instructed in azure too. I’m stumped by this issue. Not sure how to even begin to debug it. FME form has no logs for me to assess. Azure has only basic logs which offer no answers.|Can anyone give me some ideas on what I can try and check to resolve this? Is using tinker the only way forward? Happy to share the full web service config if useful.Thanks

Hi All,I’d like to replace our process of creating services in Esri portal.Instead of adding data from our SDE database to an aprx and publishing it as a feature service. I’d instead like to publish the data as a feature service directly from FME.I can do this using the Esri ArcGIS connector but it creates a hosted feature layer instead of referencing the data in the SDE database.Is it possible to write a feature layer that references the SDE database instead of a hosted feature layer?I’m using FME 2024.0.3.0 but have updated the Esri ArcGIS connector to the latest version.TIA

I have created a very simple workspace with a creator which creates a line and writes it to a GeoPackage using a FeatureWriter.The line is 2D, no measures, but the geometry type in the resulting GeoPackage is reported by ogrinfo as “3D Measured Multi Curve”.I would expect the result to be a 2D LineString instead - or maybe just LineString. As seen in the image I have exported the geometry to WKT and it indeed reports it as “LINESTRING (400000 6040000,900000 6400000)”.Is this the expected behaviour and is the FeatureWriter geometry type detection headed towards the broadest category for data instead of a more narrow approach?The test has been done using FME Form 2026.2 (26333) on Windows.

I am working with FME Flow 2025.2.4I have an automation with several Workspace Actions. Parameters are passed between the workspaces using JSON automation parameters.One of the Workspace Actions needs to be dynamic, so I pass the workspace name through a string automation parameter and the remaining parameters through a JSON automation parameter.Everything works correctly when I use only standard Workspace Actions. However, as soon as I replace one of them with a Dynamic Workspace Action, the JSON can no longer be parsed inside the workspace. It appears that FME Flow automatically deserializes the JSON parameter before it reaches the workspace.As a result, the value is no longer a valid JSON string, and transformers such as JSONExtractor or JSONFlattener fail when trying to parse it.For example, a parameter that arrives as:JSON{"umgebung": "tst","parameters": {"port": 54322}}is transformed into something like:Plain Text{ umgebung : tst, parameters : { port: 54322 } } which is no longer

Hi everyone,I’ve been noticing that when i connect to AGOL feature service to read a layer with over 1m features, it only reads up to 1m and ignores the rest. I’ve been improvising with “ArcGISOnlinefeatureGetter” transformer to read above 1m features.What could be the cause please, is it my setting?i’m currently on 2026.1

I recently come across some workspaces that I can't seem to upload anymore to FME Flow (2024.2). I already found the culprit, but still would like to understand why this happens and how to fix it permanently.Publishing a workspace gives an error. Dragging it into FME Flow will give a screen and that will get stuck and dragging multiple workspaces at once will upload all of them except the one not working and also not giving any feedback that one has not been uploaded. Eventually I found that pressing the Edit button behind the Job submitter gives more options and that there is something red. Easily to miss…So settings this to empty or another one gives me the ability to upload again. But next time it is again on the red one. Why does it keep remembering a FeatureReader that is not in the workspace again. I found also some documentation about what the use is of this feature, but I'm not sure I completely understand. If somebody could explain in a few sentences that would be great.

as I consider using fme to convert filegdb to geojson, facing problem in attribute length = 65536 for string, those attributes will truncate in geojson. how to fix it.Thank you very much

 I have some strange behaviour that Im hoping Safe can confirm, I have built a very simple loop in 2026.2 using the new looping functionality, it runs fine every time.  I then encapsulate that into a custom transformer, thats where the weirdness starts.  Running with caching OFF everything behaves itself...I then turn caching ON and the loop on the canvas behaves as expected, but the custom transformer containing the SAME loop doesn’t…Inside the custom transformer…The Loop doesnt initiate, when caching is ON, I cant work out why?I have attached the workspace.

I’m using StringPairReplacer to replace some tags (inside $ chars) in a snippet code to their default value, which fails.Since SPR doesn’t accept (dynamic) variables for replacement string, only parameters, I’ve enclosed it in a custom transformer, and using its parameters to transfer the value of the replacement string.But it still fails with“@Tcl2 -- failed to evaluate expression `Replace_replacement_tags_StringPairReplacer_2_fb7401f4_4759_4fdf_9add_13b9915a14686_replace' -- char map list unbalanced”The replacement value is given below in blue, and it works if I insert it as a fixed string.$schema$ dbo $table_name$ table_name $column_name$ column_name $data_type$ VARCHAR(20) $null$ NULL $collate$ Latin1_General_CI_AS $default$ NULLAm I fighting some TCL or FME escaping, or could it be a bug in SPR ?Fails in both 2020 and 2026.Cheers.

Hello,I recently noticed some unexpected behavior with the Feature Merger in FME 2026.2.1.I have a workspace where a Feature Merger combines data from three different streams. Under normal circumstances, everything works as expected. After successfully testing the workspace locally, I published it to FME Flow.Today I noticed that the workspace failed during execution. When I opened the workspace in FME Form and ran it with Feature Caching enabled, I was surprised to see that the Feature Merger did not merge features that clearly shared the same key values:What makes this even stranger is that if I right click the transformer and select "Run Selected Objects and Any Required Upstream Objects" a second time, the merge completes successfully without any changes to the workspace or source data.Has anyone experienced similar behavior with the Feature Merger in FME 2026.2.1? Could this be a caching issue, an optimization problem, or possibly a defect?Thanks in advance for any insights.

Hello, the initial base tables have non null values and my writer to AGOL is finishing with majority of the fields as null. The way it is set up is: Base Table > Attribute Manager/Keeper > Feature Joiner > Attribute Creator>Feature Joiner>Attribute Manager>Output Data Layer. In total, there are four non-spatial tables and one spatial geometry layer being used to create this layer. What is the best way to approach this? Thank you!  I am using FME Workbench 2024.0.2.1

Hi,With the new SQL Server Reader is it possible to simulate the older non spatial reader?I have 3 million records with line geometry.  I only want to read the attribute information and not the geometry. I can’t spot how to do this in the 2025.2 Reader.  Is it not possible or have I missed something simple?Thanks, Annette

Hi, When i try to connect open service: https://gis4.waimatedc.govt.nz/arcgis/rest/services/Public/RoadClosure_Waimate_Active_Planned/MapServer using "Esri ArcGIS Feature Service" reader, I get Python exception error. There is no authentication required as its open service. The fact that I can use HTTPCaller and get the data with query service tells me, this service doesnt require authentication. Am I missing something? I tried few other rest service from this council with no luck. Python Exception <HTTPError>: 403 Client Error: Forbidden for url: does this error means anything to do their IT system infrastructure? Any help would be appreciated? Cheers,

I current have a workspace reader that reads all of fmw files in a selected folder and use the WriterFeatureTypes to find all names writers in each fmw file being read.But when I run it, it produces errors and warning messages that aren't relevant to the writer (screenshot below).Since I only wish to know the names of the layers that the writers in each fmw file writes to, is there a way to avoid reading other information about the file such as the transformers to remove getting these errors/warnings and improve the runtime?

I have a workspace on FME Flow that ultimately creates records in a SQL Server non-spatial database using two SQLExecutor transformers with queries that came directly from the DBA.  I didn’t write the queries and I only basically understand what they do because I’m not a SQL person, but they both are sandwiched between “BEGIN TRANSACTION  → COMMIT” statements.  Up until recently, the SQLExecutor transformers in question used hard-coded server/username etc and it all worked fine.  However, during our most recent FME Flow software update (to 2024, but I don’t think Flow is the problem here as it is present in my Form testing as well) I was informed by our FME administrator that I could no longer use hard-coded server/username details, I had to switch to using an ESRI ArcSDE Geodb connection file to connect to this SQL Server database.  This change worked just fine for other, more simple, Select and Insert sql queries, but these two mentioned above just stopped working.  I confess I find

When we’re using FME Flow as our Connection Store. We’ve been noticing that some parameters of webservices start to disappear or change. Examples: Redirect URLs go blank, configuration of headers change, etc. We’ve been seeing this phenomenon in our AGOL web services and SharePoint List web services. Has anyone else seen this type of behavior?Here is our setup:FME Form/Flow: 2025.1.2 (Build 25630) FME Flow is a distributed deployment (1 core + 5 engine machines) Accessing FME Form (and the Connection Store) via Citrix/Azure Virtual DesktopTo resolve the issue: We either have to fill the in blanks/fix the issues or drop the web connection and web service completely and start from scratch.We’re just trying to understand what might be causing this.Thanks in advance!(I am sure this isn’t the correct Category, but nothing else fit as an option here.)

I've got a few challenges concerning styling of an excelsheet. It's not just an ordinary sheet with columns and rows, but it's a reporting template. The report contains several attributes in different fields and several images. The issues/challenges I'm currently facing:I would like images to fit itself into a named range or predefined rows and columns. See screenshot below. I created a predefined named range ‘overzichtskaart’ which covers cells $C$4:$E$16. But as far as I can see there is no option to let FME/Excel know that the image should stay in those cells. I created a workaround now which tells the image that it should align in xlsx_row_id 4 and xlsx_col_id2 with a height and with of 255 pixels. But this goes wrong as soon as the alignment of the attributes changes (for example multirow text in column B). Does anyone have a smart work-around to fit the image exactly in the desired cells? Named ranges are useful to make sure that the attribute-data ends up in the right cell, but

Hi,I tried this through the V4 REST API, but when I add a conditional statement to the Request URL, I’m seeing <not specified> in the Request Preview for the URL.I also noticed something in the Automating FME Flow App Customization article. They created a user parameter named SOURCE_FILE, but in the Request URL they use UPLOAD_FILE.Could you please clarify why these parameter names are different and how the conditional statement should be configured in the Request URL?Thanks!
