If I have an MS SQL Writer that I have disabled for whatever reason, all the features in the workspace turn grey. Perfect, is a very good indication that it is disabled. However: if I import another table, that writer is added to the Main canvas and to the Navigator in full color!Which caused me quite a bit of head scratching this morning: why was nothing written to the database? It seems to me that this is a bug in FME Form (FME(R) 2026.1.2.0 (20260512 - Build 26124 - WIN64), but maybe I am overlooking/overthinking something…To reproduce: Add an MS SQL Server Writer, use Import from Dataset to select a table. Right-click on the Writer in the Navigator, and select Disable [writer_name]. Table on the canvas turns grey, as it should. From the menu select Build - Writers - Import Feature Types. Select another table, click OK. Now I see one grey table and one in full color… 

We're using the TrimbleUnityConnector in FME Workbench 2026.2 and have noticed that when creating a new activity, the connector displays template options for items such as inspections. However, no Work Order Template options are available.As a workaround, we've been passing the Work Order Template ID as an attribute, which works, but we'd expected the templates to be selectable in the connector like the other activity types.Has anyone else experienced this behavior, or is there additional configuration required to expose the Work Order Template options?Here is inspections for comparison 

Hi brains trust!Does anyone know how to determine how 2 x polygon geometry might change being passed into Change Detector original vs revised. I’ve set Check Geometry with the parameters to be lenient and using 1.5m tolerance for exampleI know how to explain the change list, exploding and keeping these attributegeometryObject has changed, but how muchI had considered extracting the geometry of orig and revised to an attribute, then passing it into AreaOnAreaOverlayer? Hi,I have two questions about writing from IFC to Revit:Is it possible to write objects such as walls or columns from IFC as actual Walls or Columns in Revit, rather than having them as Generic Models? I am using FME 2026.2, and when I write to Revit using a template file from either Revit 2024 or 2025, the output from FME is created in Revit 2026. Why does this happen? Is it possible to create the output from FME in Revit 2025?Thank you in advance for your help.

I have various FeatureReaders I use for reading both schemas and features. I also create new features and use the SchemaScanner to create the corresponding schemas.When using a FeatureWriter I need the schema to arrive before the features. This can be done using a Sorter but it also fill up my RAM very fast because it is blocking.I am ideally looking for a FeatureHolder with Group By (by fme_feature_type?) which supports release features when the corresponding schema has passed.Alternatively if someone has an idea for a similar functionality combining a set of transformers?

Is this an AI hallucination or something new in 2026, I suspect the former but the latter would be nice...  

I read in a PoinCloud with Component x,y and z_2025_gem. The year changes as time passes by so I use a Parameter to define the component. For reading the point cloud, the component is read as z_$(JAAR)_gem. That works fine.When I want to use a User Parameter within the expression of the poincloudfilter I get an error on Flow but when I try it on Form with default values for the parameters, it works fine. If I try the workspace with default values on Flow it works fine as well.I checked the values for the Parameters on Flow by sending an email to myself with the values of the Parameters and the values are fine. So I guess that cannot be the problem. I've got a few challenges concerning styling of an excelsheet. It's not just an ordinary sheet with columns and rows, but it's a reporting template. The report contains several attributes in different fields and several images. The issues/challenges I'm currently facing:I would like images to fit itself into a named range or predefined rows and columns. See screenshot below. I created a predefined named range ‘overzichtskaart’ which covers cells $C$4:$E$16. But as far as I can see there is no option to let FME/Excel know that the image should stay in those cells. I created a workaround now which tells the image that it should align in xlsx_row_id 4 and xlsx_col_id2 with a height and with of 255 pixels. But this goes wrong as soon as the alignment of the attributes changes (for example multirow text in column B). Does anyone have a smart work-around to fit the image exactly in the desired cells? Named ranges are useful to make sure that the attribute-data ends up in the right cell, but

Hi,I’m using FME 2026.1.1 Build 26121.I have observed strange behavior of SQLCreator today.User attributes which are created using “Create User Parameter” option are not getting saved (Step3.jpg). If we create then though “Manage User Parameters” and add user parameter with text option. User parameter is saved in user parameters in navigator but SQLCreator is saving the user name or password. Two screenshots are attached for reference with names step1 and Step2.This issue I have seen just today and everything is fine till yesterday. Even I entered the username and password as constant values directly, values which are entered are not saved. When I open the SQLCreator constant values are not saved. Waiting for response...Thank you! 

Good day, I have a couple of points on a line feature. I would like to draw one polygon around each point, the point serves as center point of the polygon. The polygons should be 1.5m x 1.5m. Two sides should be parallel, two sides perpendicular to the line. See screenshots. What is the fastest way to achieve it ?

Hi there,I'm currently trying to find a way to unlock the geometry off all scope box options that are part of a Revit file. The main idea is to write the Revit file into a GIS format and be able to filter the overall geometry by the different scope box options. However, I can’t seem to find/get the scope box geometry (or any coördinates related to a scope box) from a Revit file. I can only find some references to the scope box names. For testing I used the first option of Snowdon Towers - Architectural file on this page: https://help.autodesk.com/view/RVT/2024/ENU/?guid=GUID-61EF2F22-3A1F-4317-B925-1E85F138BE88In the example file there are 4 options for Scope Box settings: Views Overall, Grids, Levels or None. In Revit we can see the whole project using Views Overall, but for example with Grids the outside garage entrance is filtered out. Also we can see the geometrie of those scope boxes within Revit and the filter area it uses.Here the two different views:View Overall Scope Box Grids

I want to calculate upstream and downstream distances along river polylines between barrier points. I’ve got as far as generating a topologically correct river network divided at barrier locations, river intersections and junctions complete with network_id. I’m stuck on the next steps! The main challenge is what to do upstream when a river branches out. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Process so far 

Hi everyone,I’m publishing hosted layers to ArcGIS Online (AGOL) using the Esri ArcGIS Feature Service writer. My issue is that the map extent for the item in AGOL is at 0,0 (aka middle of the ocean). I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong to cause this problem. I have attached screenshots below of my workflow and writer settings. I reproject the layer to ESPG:3857 as recommended. One of my clients is using FME on Linux with only the command line interface and is having some trouble importing database connections. Specifically: they don’t know how to do it on the command line.I can’t find much in the way of documentation for this. I suspect that if it is at all possible it may be through the APPLY_SETTINGS command, but other than that I can see that that exists, I can’t find any indication anywhere on what those settings may be and how to set them.Any clues? Anybody with an old manual somewhere? I do have old installation cd’s and dvd’s going back to FME 2005, but I don’t think I have a computer with a cd or dvd drive anymore 😅 Hoping one of the other long-time users has something stashed away...

It all works fine but there are nog FME Hub transformers in the list: Also, when browsing, the installation of a found transfomer from the hub gives an error: Is this a problem of the user not having the correct permissions or an URL that is not allowed or any other ideas? Whenever I try to open the AttributeRenamer transform properties, FME Form crashes. It doesnt matter if it is an existing workflow or if I start a new one woth nothing but only one AttributeRenamer. Any thoughts, anyone? The screenshot below if from FME Academy: But it also happens on an otherwise empty workflow:  

Hi, I have a LAS file already normalized, ground z value = 0, and other class z = height above ground. I need to set the z value to “0” to building class. I try this workflow and it’s seem to work but when I check the LAS writer, build and ground have the 8.847607091e-10 z value.I dont know why this, but when I check property in FME, I realize that z value it’s different.In my normalized LAS the z valueBut in the output LAS I get this in z valueI tryied with PointCluidExpressionEvaluator instead remove and adder component but I get the same in Z valueAny idea why this happens?

Hi community. The managed web services are fantastic, especially for sharing connections and data sources through FME Flow.I have a question about how we can recreate a URL call from a token service from an Oauth enabled end point. The web connection I have works as intended in Form and occasionally falls over in Flow (maybe 1 in 10) and I am attempting to troubleshoot.To do so I am trying to connect to the web service endpoint by building the URL that the token service creates through the Web services in FME. Does anyone have a template that can show me where each of the fields are built into a URL call so I can substitute in the values I have in the request URL, request Data, Token Object Key and Header fields?I am assuming I’ll have to strip out some fields that aren’t needed and maybe use some additional fields that form populates automatically but I just need somewhere to start from.  This is how I have it set-up but not all of the details are in the request data field.  Thank you

Hi, my name is Leen.I have connected several items from an Excel-column in FME and gave them consecutive itemId’s and placed them in a XML-file. this is necessary to import these itemId’s in Teamcenter.Now I want to connect other items from another column from the same Excel-file into my XML-file with the use of the follow-up consecutive numbers that have been created earlier.

I am working with a fairly large dataset and using FeatureWriter to write more than 200 data layers to a GDB. You could say that it is a complete template that can be reused. However, FeatureWriter seems to have an issue where it automatically defaults the Geometry Type of all features to a fixed type when I click on each input row to inspect it, even though my 200+ layers contain many different geometry types (points, lines, and polygons), all of which have been explicitly configured rather than using the “From First Feature” option.Initially, I thought I might have configured the Geometry Type incorrectly for some of the layers. However, after I manually configured the Geometry Type for all 200+ layers and clicked on FeatureWriter again, the same issue occurred.To be honest, I preferred the FeatureWriter in previous versions. I believe the version before 2024 was very stable. However, since the FeatureWriter interface was changed and the “From First Feature” option was introduced, I

FME Flow using a directory and pathname reader transformer. it has run in this folder before (different fme version) and not had this error.PATH Reader: Error reading path '\\Tx-mio-miso1\mi-shared2\SUR\MoDC_TXAS_NRGY\COUNT_FLEET_\ASBUILT\WORKING' with error message: 'The media is write protected.'Why does a reader transformer need write access?It doesn’t even get to the writer and fails

FME currently logs successful Azure Blob Storage responses with HTTP 206 (Partial Content) as ERROR messages. Since 206 is a normal success response used during chunked downloads, these messages should not be classified as errors. They generate noise in logs and lead users to believe workflows have failed when they have actually completed successfully.
