Hello Community,in FME 2024 I was able to find out whether I was running a workspace on FME Flow or locally by checking FME_SERVER_WEB_URL or FME_SERVER_HOST values. Both values would be empty unless the workspace was actually running on FME Flow. Fast forward to after upgrading FME to 2026, in FME Form, FME_SERVER_* parameter values are URL/host of the FME Flow FME Form is connected to. Knowing whether a workspace is ran locally is important e.g. if it calls a child workspace (using WorkspaceRunner vs. FMEFlowJobSubmitter). It is also very helpful during authoring/troubleshooting. How can I do this in 2026? Thank you in advance for any tips/ideas

I’m able to update metadata elements in multiple feature classes within esri file geodatabases using the very helpful article at Working with Geodatabase Metadata: Writing/Updating Metadata – FME Support Center. This gets me most of the way to where I need to be.After reading through the article and numerous posts on the Community, I’m stuck on how to use this or another workflow to update the metadata for the file geodatabase itself. There is metadata associated with each feature class, but there is also geodatabase-level metadata.The FeatureReader using the Metadata Feature Read Mode was new to me - very useful, along with the XMLUpdater and the methods outlined in the article. But it seems to only work for the contents of a geodatabase. Any thoughts on how to work with the metadata on the container, as well?Thanks in advance.

Hello,I I am fairly inexperienced with some FME processes.My task at work is to extract text from DGN files and convert it to Annotation Feature classes in a GDB. I need to override the FontSize value that comes from DGN with a specific value in the GDB Annotation class, and all my attempts failed. Does anyone have suggestions on how to go about it? I am using FME 2024 and ArcPro 3.5. Thanks! 

I want to convert shape files to DGN map squares(tiles). For the output I use FANOUT. As input I use a csv file with coordinates of map squares to determine the naming and boundaries of the DGNs. I also want to use the same naming convention for the multiple input seedfiles. I have added SEEDFILE as an attribute in the workflow. I get an error message that @Value(SEEDFILE) is not recognized in Parameter Seed File..EXAMPLE:seed_100200.dgn → 100200.dgn 

Hi,So I would like to try to work out a point source ID for point clouds based on continuous chunks of time. Basically separating out flightlines. For example, a point should has 30 points. The first 10 are collected in the first 10 seconds, then there is a gap of 1 minute before capture, and then another 10 are collected, then another minute gap, then the last points. So in this case I would like to determine a unique component value for each of the 3 time related groups.I think I can do this if I coerce the cloud to points. But that really isn’t efficient for billions of points.I also won’t know beforehand how many different continuous capture periods there are.Can anyone think of a way to do this? It’s pretty easy to do in lastools. But in this case I’d like to do it in FME. I don’t know any python which I presume could do it.I am ideally wanting this to work in version 2022, but I’m open to a newer version if that is the only chance of doing this.Thanks

I’ve tried out the AI assist this week for the first time and it worked fine until it suddenly threw and error. When now starting the AI Assist within a workbench, it throws the following error: “Unknown Error. SSL connect error. When login out and back into the FME account, it sometimes works for 1 prompt and then throws the error again. It seems to work for a colleague within the same network as of now. Any suggestions?

Hi, I have two local authority boundary datasets that should align along a river but don’t and this is causing the Master Lookup between the two boundary datasets to be wrong. These two should be aligned and coterminous. How do I easily solve it? 

Hello Forum, I have point dataset with 5600 points at an address level. Each point has a ‘score’ value of between 1 and 100. I need to create a hexagon grid. And then assign to each hexagon the score value of the point, or the average score values of the points, that fall into each hexagon. If only one point record falls into a hexagon, say with a score of 42, then that hexagon will inherit a score of 42. But if several points fall into a hexagon, say with scores of 13, 56 and 22, then assign the average value of 30.3 to the hexagon they fall into.  I also need to define the size of the hexagons/hexagon grid. I’ve been looking into the H3HexagonIndexer (https://docs.safe.com/fme/html/FME-Form-Documentation/FME-Transformers/Transformers/h3hexagonalindexer.htm) but can’t get the results I’m looking for / work it out. Any ideas would be welcome. Thanks,

Is it possible to turn off log entries like these?Workspace was last saved in FME version: FME 2025.1.3.1 (20251021 - Build 25645 - WIN64) Failed to free sufficient memory to reach the process usage limit. To improve stability and performance please increase the memory available to FME. Available memory can be increased by adding physical RAM, increasing swap space, or closing other applicationsThese just add clutter to the job reviewing process.   

Hello everyone,We just upgraded to FME Form 2024.2.1 and we currently encounter one problem. For the users, the personal database- and web connections were inititally not migrated. Thus we sent first a mail to the users that they coud export the database- and webconnections in FME Form 2023 and then import  the exported file in FME Form 2024. It looked like it solved the problem, however when the users logged in the next day on an new machine, they lost all their personal database-  and webconnections.We read the following link: Changes to Connection Storage in FME Form 2024 – FME Support Center and it became clear to us that's due to the new way that personal database- and webconnections are stored. They are stored in fme_userconnection.data and the machineID is hardcoded in this file.In our organization we work on a virtual machine and thus also everytime we log into a new machine. It's now clear why the database- and webconnections are not visible in FME Form 2024.I was wondering if

Can fme only run up to citygml 2.0?I don't know the part about uploading citygml 3.0. 

Newer versions of FME Form can be connected to FME Flow for the purpose of obtaining Deployment Parameter values at runtime:Given that FME Form is connected to Flow I was wondering if anyone knows of a way of obtaining details of that connection when a workspace is run in Form. It does not appear to be exposed anywhere.A workaround would be to create a Deployment Parameter in my Flow instances and reference that in Form but it seems there should be an out of the box solution to this.Specifically, what I want to do is to query the FME Flow API for the connected instance, without having to hard-code the FME Flow URL in the HTTPCaller.

It seems the issue described in the related topic, where the job variables show in the result, instead of the values, has never been resolved. Or the issue has returned in version 2025.2.4.As a workaround I can send an email to a Teams-channel. But I looks a lot better when I send an adaptive card to the channel, using a Workflow in that channel.But as described in the related topic, when I send a adaptive card with a HTTP Request in an Automation, a job variable like {automation.name} just shows as {automation.name} in the result. Of course I would like it to show the name of the automation.Is there a way to make this work? Or is this a bug and I just have to wait when it will be fixed?

We need a FME Flow data stream which generates an HTML page showing an index of all available FME Flow Workspace Apps on our FME Flow instance.In FME Server REST API V3 we used [FME_Server_instance]/fmerest/v3/apps?.In FME Flow REST API V4, when we use the analogue [FME_Flow_instance]/fmeapiv4/flow-apps?, we do not obtain a result.Which is the appropriate call to obtain the information on all Workspace Apps available on an FME Flow instance in REST API V4 (as e.g. is [FME_Flow_instance]/fmeapiv4/repositories? to obtain all Repositories)?

We are working for a client that has a test domain and a production domain. Servers in test cannot reach servers on production and vice versa. There is currently an installation of ProjectWise (PW) installed in both domains, but the test version is a minimal installation that lacks WSG being setup and configured whereas the deployment on production has everything, currently.Our task is to setup a process that will use FME Flow to retrieve DGNs from PW and use them elsewhere. We currently have an FME Flow installation on the client’s test domain and are trying to approximate the workflow that we will have available to us in production. However, for the moment at least, it appears that WSG being installed is a core requirement for reaching PW with FME. We have other methods for users to place files where the test FME Flow server can reach them, but I would like to know if there is a workaround that can get us to our final goal prior to putting it in the production domain.Any help is appr

Hello,I have a workbench that converts GIS data to an AutoCAD Map 3D object data file. In this workbench, I’m creating new layers that don’t exist in the template file being used, and would like to set their default lineweight of these new layers to “Default” or “ByLayer”. I am able to successfully define an “autocad_lineweight” attribute in the workbench and set it equal to -3 or -1 and the GIS line features that are translated receive the correct lineweight value.However, the layers themselves do not. The layer default lineweight appears to be controlled by the “Default Lineweight” parameter in the writer feature type. Unfortunately, there doesn’t appear to an option to select -3 or -1. Additionally, attempting to set that parameter to the previously defined attribute leads to a failure w/the following messages (xyz is the path & file name of the output):AutoCAD Writer: An error occurred for dataset ‘xyz’ in function RealDWGWriter::checkToCreateDynamicObjectDataTable. Hello,  it is possible to see a FME workspace CPU usage at the end of a job in the logging. However, when you activate a stream it will occupy an Engine and it will not give CPU usage in the logging. Is there a way to find or register the CPU usage of a stream that runs 24/7?

Hello, We recently updated FME-flow to 2025.2.4. Shortly after we’re not able to publish workspaces from FME-form (2025.2) to Flow with the message ‘User is not authorized.’ while I use a superuser account. I cannot find something related in the User Management section on FME-form. Or might it also be something related on the server it is installed?If someone has tips or knows more about this issue that would be greatly appreciated.

I would like to read what i am seeing below :PDF file with text in RED (image) on top of text In the above image under the RED text / numbers is BLACK text /numbers (i do not want the PDF READER to read this but rest in BLACK visible in above is okie) e.g. When i read PDF it reads T64 but i want to read T100 + other text/numbers visible in above image OR I want to read U 22700 mm and NOT U 22000 mm OR I want to read U 22950 mm and NOT U 22200 mm PDF file with text behind the RED (image) text  This is how my PDF READER pdf READER

I was looking to upgrade FME Flow 2024 to FME Flow 2026 and ended up getting an impassable situation.
