Help with SpatialFilter in FME for Flood Project

I’m working on a flood-affected buildings project in St. Pauli, Hamburg, using FME’s SpatialFilter transformer. I uploaded an image of my setup (see attached). Almost all buildings are being rejected, and I’m not sure why. My buildings are the "generic object," and the flooding areas are the clipped ones.

Truncate SDE table with archiving enabled

Hey!I was wondering what the best practices are when it comes to updating a sde table that has archiving enabled. I have a few tables in a sde database that I need to update regularly. These tables have archiving enbaled and the tables have between 100,000-900,000 records.I have noticed that when I want use “Truncate Existing” in my sde writer that it takes a long time (I’ve never actually had the patience to let it run to completion… I usually cancelled it after a few hours)If I use the “SQL To Run Before Write” to truncate the table before I write to it, all the “archived” data gets lost.If I use the arcpy function “Truncate Table” in a Python Caller right before I write the data to the table it works really well, it doesn’t take too much time and the archiving function is working as well. I guess one other option would be to detect all the changes and only update those rows but for different reasons this makes the workflow a bit more complicated. But maybe something worth looking in

How share an Automation app without requiring to authenticate

Hello everyone,I have a short question. How can I share an automation app so that an user doesn't need to  authenticate. himself/herself? I am able to share workspace apps with users by disabling the Require Authentication button, but I can't find something like that for an automation app.I also looked at manage token and enabled some options with Automation, but still the autonmation app does require an user to authenticate himself/herself.

Dissolver - Attributes to Sum and Multi Polygons:1+2 = 5

Not sure if it’s an issue as such, although I struggle to think of a scenario where you would want this functionality, and it might be obvious to some but just as an FYI If you send multipolygons into a Dissolver with Aggregate Handling set to Deaggregate and choose attributes to sum, the polygons will be deaggregated first, this means that each constituent part inherits the attributes of the original multipolygon feature and this will then be summed to leading to unexpected values. So from thisYou get this

Is it possible to extract text from a PDF of an MS whiteboard?

I have an export of an MS Whiteboard in pdf form. (I also have the JSON and HTML. The JSON doesn’t store the note contents).  PDF reader is spotting text, but I’m struggling to pull it out ‘per note’. Any ideas?

ACC Project not appearing in my Hub

Hi all,Trying to set up workspaces in Form that read files directly from my ACC project using a web connection. However, my project isn’t appearing under my Hub? Appreciate this is vague but any suggestions would be great! Update - there seems to be two environments - one linked to autodesk EU and one linked to autodesk UK - not sure if this is impactful! Thanks

During Using FeatureTypeFilter Update the _relationship attribute lost.

When a database is updated using SpatialRelator, FeatureTypeFilter, and DatabaseUpdater Transformers from feature classes inherited from two different readers, the _relationship attribute disappears when the FeatureTypeFilter Update button is used. All DatabaseUpdater transformers are in the "incomplete transformer" status. When examining the DatabaseUpdater transformers, the _relationship values are red. Copying and pasting the same value fixes this. To avoid this issue, you must manually edit the FeatureTypeFilter, which is time-consuming.

SharepointOnlineConnector doesn't return all files

Hello everyone,We are encountering an issue when using the SharePointOnlineConnector. My colleague, who is a member of a SharePoint site, was able to retrieve all files from the site using the HTTPCaller. However, when attempting to retrieve the same files using the SharePointOnlineConnector, not all files are returned. We are unsure why the SharePointOnlineConnector does not return the complete list of files from the site. For further clarification pictures are added:My colleague can access a specific list in Sharepoint itself (Codes)In the SharePointOnlineConnector, after connecting to the same Site, the list Codes is not available to him. Codes is a List and not a Document. How do I test/filter attributes using a list with wildcards?

I am processing a large amount of simple data: Points with attributes. I want to filter the data by a specific set of attributes, some of which have wild cards. e.g., "T", "T BASE", "T BENT" should all pass through. For each run, a user will be specifying the valid attributes by putting them into a file (probably text), which will be read in at the start of the process. I mention using a list, but they could go into a table as well if that would work better.

Python Error on FME Flow for ArcGISOnlineConnector

I use the ArcGISOnlineConnector (3.10) on FME 2024.2.1.0On FME Form everythings works perfect. FME 2024.1 SharePoint Reader

I have a workspace created in 2023.2 that reads an Excel workbook from a SharePoint library. It is working perfectly.I have upgraded to 2024.1 and the reader no longer works as expected. If I use the 2024 Data Inspector I can connect to the workbook and see the data. The FeatureReader obtains the schema and the number of records in each sheet and gives a “Translation was SUCCESSFUL” in the log. The issue happens after that - I get some sort of (possibly) Python related error. Log file of messages after the successful log entry is attached.I have tried changing the Python version but it didn’t make any difference. Has anyone had the same issue or any ideas what I could try to get it working again.

Zipped shapefiles to Geodatabase

I have a folder that contains various zipped shapefiles that I am trying to export to a geodatabase. This folder is updated regularly and the shapefiles are points, lines and polygons. How can I read in and then export them to the geodatabase without needing to worry about the geometry type? I have looked into generic readers and writers but I have not been able to figure how to get them to work.

Scale factor on COG

I have a COG with a scale factor (excerpt from GDALInfo)Band 1 Block=1024x1024 Type=Int32, ColorInterp=Gray  Min=-50313.000 Max=57304.000  Minimum=-50313.000, Maximum=57304.000, Mean=4745.177, StdDev=7550.452  NoData Value=-32767  Offset: 0,   Scale:0.1How do I apply this scale factor in FME?   If I clip the input and create a new tif,  the scale factor is dropped and the values are 10 times the expected.In this particular case I can just scale the value back down, but in general, is there a way to retrieve the scale factor and apply it?

CRS EPSG 20047 BCSG2020

I want to re-project an image file into CRS EPSG 20047 BCSG2020But that CRS is missing from my drop-down list.I am running FME Desktop FME(R) 2022.1.3.0 (20220928 - Build 22630 - WIN64) Is CRS EPSG 20047 BCSG2020 available in a more current version?

FME Flow licensing error for ArcGIS

We are troubleshooting an issue getting FME 2024.0.2.2 to write to an ArcGIS SDE hosted in SQL 2019 on AWS. We have ArcGIS Pro 3.3.5 installed. This should all align with guidance found here: Notes on FME and Esri Versions and Compatibility – FME Support CenterAdditionally, we’ve found new guidance that seems to suggest the decade + old method of using desktop/Pro is no longer valid and ArcGIS Server is required to reside on the same machine as FME Flow: Using FME Flow with Esri ArcGIS Software – FME Support CenterWe have confirmed at publishing in Pro, the default is all licensed users are hitting the concurrent server and being assigned an Advanced license.The error we are seeing is: Our questions:Is the documentation right and ArcGIS Server is the only option (i.e., cannot use Pro)? If ArcGIS Server is the only option, must the ArcGIS Server instance remain running (i.e., the ArcServer.exe process must be started and running or can it be stopped)? FME Flow upgrade from 2023.1

Hi Everyone,Currently FME Flow v2023.1 is installed in our client environment. From documentation it seems that the support will end for this version in Aug 2026. Can someone please confirm which version would be recommended for upgrade?​@hkingsbury ​@david_r ThanksKirti

Unable to store connection

HiI am currently trying to create a web connection in FME desktop but it says the following: Unable to store connection. Please try againSQL Query INSERT INTO fme_nc_namedconnections (connectionname, username, servicename, connectiontype) VALUES (?, ?, ?, ?) failed. Error: attempt to write a readonly database This happens with any connection type I try with this particular windows user account. If I log in with a different account, I am able to save the connection, but I no longer use that account and need to run it through this one. Does anyone know how to resolve this please? Thanks

How do I select only tables from a dataset containing records meeting certain criteria?

I have an Oracle SQL database containing about 200 tables, with tables containing anywhere from 5 to 700000 records. I want to figure out which one of those tables contain records we actually modified over the past two years, preferably without having to query all 200 tables for a record containing a last_modified date after January 1st 2023. Would there be a quick way to just return the table names for every table containing a record that contains one or more records matching the criteria?

Aggregator grouping by attribute removes overlapped areas

I have land parcels that are currently separate features in ArcGIS SDE.  Below highlights 2 parcels that that belong to the same property 1st and 2nd floors.  (2nd floor is the smaller shape)I want to aggregate these into a multi part single feature grouped by an ID that they share called LANDNO.After using the aggregator transformer, it looks like the below where the second floor has been totally cut out leaving nothing.  I haven’t tried a Disslove yet but I reckon that would remove all vectors of the second floor which I still want to keep.Here are the settings in Aggregator.   Any suggestions to achieve my objective ?

Retain trailing zero on coordinate value in text editor

I’m building a value for the Longitude of a point feature. The field type I have defined is number (20,6) I create the value using this in the text editor:   @Format(%.5f,@XValue())So I want 5 decimal places.   eg.     15436225.30510However, what I see in my result table viewer is 15436225.3051   (no trailing zero)But when I double click on that value, it displays the value “with” the zero.  15436225.30510 The value that gets written to the writer (to AGOL) is the one without trailing zero.Works fine until I use a change detector, then it decides that the trailing zero is causing a difference and wants to update the value to have the trailing zero.So my question is,  can I enforce the trailing zero in the table result?  Then I will rewrite my destination records one time again and hopefully my change detector will realise they are the same from that point on.   My original format statement again is :  @Format(%.5f,@XValue())

UI Language switch?

Hello:)This is incredibly petty, but as someone who lives in a country where “Commonwealth English” is the standard for spelling (and not the Simplified English of North America), I wondered if there’s a switch in the UI somewhere so that menu items and transformers are spelled correctly (correctly for me). For example: the NeighbourFinder, which, as is pointed out in the docs, is an alias of the NeighborFinder. I’m waging my own campaign against the normalisation of N.Am. English in software across the English-speaking world.

Passing dynamic values to shutdown script

 I try to find out how i pass attribute values assigned during runtime to the shutdown script.I want to pass values of total features read and written from the feature reader\\writer. I have tried to create private parameters and set the values in runtime with the attribute manager. But the values are <null> / not set when i fetch them in my python script  This is the value I am tying to set my private parameter as.I feel somehow this is the wrong way to do it? What other ways can I set dynamic values that I can use in my shutdown script for logging.

Selected only DWG files from a DWG Question.

I know I that you cannot delete feature under DWG, but what if you want seleteed a few because one of them is bad.  I am GIS Specialist and I have the DWG files here… The DWG I have is a campgound that somebody worked on it and gave it to use and as I prepare to make a map for that campground and discovered that one of the entity I think “X” is out of  place.What I was trying to open the 2024.1 Data Inspector and bring that Dataset into the View to see it andI use the X to turn it off and use the Save As as a new Dataset without the  “X” layer . When I save it and it still  comes with it every time. I tried to use different method.here is the screen shot I have here.  The one I want to remove this X layer under the DWG Layer is “X” . The Red line I drew is that one that I want to delete it. I don’t have the latest version to 2025 yet… Can anyone tell me if there is another way around to fix this ?
