Does every engine in a distributed deployment need a license for ArcGIS server? Or does just the main host machine require a license for working with ESRI readers and writers?

I have read through the documentation regarding distributed deployment of FME Flow but I can't figure out if all of the distributed engines need an ArcGIS server license, or just the main server.

Thanks

Engines run locally on each machine and use that machines resources. The main host machine is essentially a router to those engines. Therefore, each machine that there are engines on, that are needed to utilize an ESRI license, require the appropriate ESRI software to be installed.

By using queues and engine routing, you can minimize the number of ESRI installs required by routing Jobs that need an ESRI licenses to queues with the licesnsed engines.
