My requirement is to calculate the distance in meters from points to nearest road in FME, end output should be one new field should be added in point layer with distance to each points. i have tried to do this with NeighborFinder transformer but i am not getting my desired output. i don’t where i am doing mistake. can any one help me.

Colleagues, I'm looking for a way to sort two text columns in Excel based on a custom classification. I have a dataset with several columns, including X, Y, ID Link, GIS Portal Link, Major Company, and Sub Company. My goal is to sort the "Major Company" and "Sub Company" columns according to my own predefined order. Here's what I attempted:I used the AttributeMapper transformer to assign classification values, followed by a Sorter to sort both columns. However, it seems that FME ignored the initial sorting by "Major Company" and only applied the sort to the "Sub Company" column. What I want is: To first sort the "Major Company" column based on my custom classification. Then, within each "Major Company" group, sort the "Sub Company" column based on another classification. It’s important that the row structure remains intact—meaning if a "Sub Company" row is moved, all its related data (X, Y, ID Link, GIS Portal Link) must move with it. I’ve come across an issue a couple times where the Oracle writer appears to go stale. Has anyone else come across this issue and do you have a better fix than mine? Problem: I run an FME workbench that writes data to Oracle, the workbench completes successfully and the log file tells me fme_features were written. When I go look in Oracle to confirm the deltas, the records were not changed. Current fix: If I replace the Oracle Writer and re-run the workbench then the records in Oracle do get changed. Any help would be appreciated

On the Tuesday evening of the Peak of Data & AI 2025 that took place in May, over 75 FME users came together for an evening of innovation, collaboration, and pure data-fuelled fun at the FME Hackathon! Participants had the chance to remix real-world datasets (including testing out the newly announced FME Realize and Data Virtualization), get guidance from Safe Software experts, and fuel their creativity with pizza and drinks. On Wednesday, five teams shared what they built - and wow, it was a close race! Earlier this year, we asked the FME Community to get creative and submit name ideas for a surprise appearance of the FME Lizard. I’ve been finding lately that having an AI write code for me and just run it is becoming almost trivial, and as an FME user it’s starting to make me feel pretty obsolete. Of course there are still a tonne of caveats and you still need to be careful, but with the recent rollout of Visual Studio’s “Agent” mode to everyone the reality is fast approaching that it may be easier to create a free python based application to do a specific task than to write a workspace. Understanding these AI tools well is hands down just going to make you much more productive. But this can only be true is you can actually use them in your work which in the FME world it’s so far not so easy. For me one of the main benefits of using FME is that I don’t need to spend time writing code, but now that I can have the AI do much of the work I’m really wondering about the future of FME - Especially to juniors - If someone has to spend time learning FME vs asking an AI to create a python app to do the same why would th
