We are scripting our installation of FME server 2020 and need to run API calls after installation. To do this we need a token but how do we create the token using python code, without creating it manually in the web interface? The FME server playground documentation references the "fmetokens" service but this has been deprecated. The API v3 documentation does not cover this topic that I can find. Unable to get any assistance on this from safe support, looking for suggestions. Thanks
Hi friends, how to add the display of my data to the map (for example, the outline of houses or some zones) when activating the window for selecting an area to FME Server.
I'm trying to learn how to leverage FME Server with web services and have a couple of questions. Been following a few tutorials and built a workbench that:Reads a JSON file using TextLineReader Massages the dataWrites data to databaseNow I would like to publish this as web service... basically I'd like to be able to send JSON to an FME URL and let server pick it up there. I know you it's possible to run a workbench from a URL. But every tutorial I've tried to follow to do this has led me nowhere. I always end up unable to publish to Data Streaming service because there "Nothing To Select".Would appreciate any guidance as to what tutorial might work for me. In the meantime, I will dig into the documentation here:https://s3.amazonaws.com/gitbook/Server-REST-API-2019/index.html
I have 3 layers of data, lines, points and labels setup in feature writer, runs fine on my desktop but will not write the points on fme server
I have a scheduled job set up on FME Server (2020.0.1. Build 20218) that had been working fine for over a month. Then all of a sudden it stopped earlier this week. The workspace can be run on its on in FME Server without issue. I reviewed the "fmescheduler.log" and found this: Fri-12-Feb-2021 11:42:23.525 AM INFORM QuartzScheduler_FMEServerQuartzScheduler-SERVERNAMEHERE51612808703694_MisfireHandler 406432 : Trigger misfired (Category: FME Name: FME_RunStatsForDashboards).Fri-12-Feb-2021 11:46:23.530 AM INFORM QuartzScheduler_FMEServerQuartzScheduler-SERVERNAMEHERE1612808703694_MisfireHandler 406432 : Trigger misfired (Category: COM.safe.fmeserver.CleanupManager Name: CleanupDoResourceCheck). After deleting and rebuilding the scheduled job, it continued to fail. I republished the workspace, deleted the scheduled job and still nothing. I then restarted the FME Server Services. After the restart, I am seeing this new error in the log:406401 : Internal scheduler error &quo
I have amended the FME_SHAREDRESOURCED_DATA directory to E:/FMEServerShare//resources/data/ which was previously set to the default location in ProgramData. In the workbench I have a HTTPCaller that drops the file downloaded to $(FME_SHAREDRESOURCE_DATA)\\Geodesys\\.... Is it possible to use CAS as a single-sign on mechanism for FME Server? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Central_Authentication_Service It is not clear to me whether SAML would cover this. If I understand it well CAS 3.0 also allows SAML https://stackoverflow.com/questions/43676624/what-is-the-relation-between-cas-vs-saml
Hello,I have recently installed FME Server 2019.2.3.2 (32 Bit) and have been using it without any issues up until this point. I modified a config property in the 'fmeServerConfig.txt' file and even since then, the manager doesn't want to load correctly. After that, I restored the config back to what I had it at before (when it was working) and restarted the FME Server Services, the machine, etc. Has anyone else ran into this issue before? Have added some screenshots below: Thank you
Hello,we are developing an application which is using Data Download Service. User gets an email with download link in it. When the dataset is already deleted from FME Server, user is redirected to a web page "Download Dataset Expired".Is it possible to customize this page? For example to translate it etc.?Or is there some way to automatically redirect the user to some other web page? Rudolf
I installed fme server "FME Server 2020.2.2 Build 20817 - win64" on a new machine, and then restored from backup "FME Server 2020.2 Build 20787 - win64". The restore appeared to go successfully however all jobs fail with a message like "Error: The log file for job ID "6" does not exist". I suspect there's a path somewhere that needs to be updated. How do I locate where it might be configured?http://SERVER:8080/fmeserver/#/systemevents/history?page=1 shows over 250 events so it's not that logs can't be written at all. I found a thread mentioning this message at https://community.safe.com/s/question/0D54Q000080hL2RSAU/fme-server-2019-error-the-log-file-for-job-id-2613-does-not-exist and the cure there was to run System Cleanup tasks. I have 14 tasks listed on that page and all are enabled. I don't see a mechanism to trigger them to run though.
Hi, In a workspace I used a few FMEServerJobSubmitters. It worked fine for a few days but suddenly the error message “credentials for user are invalid”.I can still login to the FME server with the same credentials as the workspace works with. How is it possible that these credentials are not held? Greetings
So I have a Coordinate System Name Parameter and in Workbench I get this nice gallery to help me pick and choose. There are several columns of data to use for searching or sorting...very nice indeed. However now if I publish my workspace to FME Server, we get this:At this point the user would need to know what they're looking for, but without the metadata shown in the Gallery, you don't know exactly what you're picking especially if the end user is not a coordinate system expert (myself included!). For example I'd like to search for a UTM in meters, something in central US, etc. to ensure that any Lat/Lon coordinates are converted to something that makes sense for the picked area on a map.Any thoughts? Should this be a wishlist idea? Thanks.
Hi list. We're trying out the streaming capabilities of workspaces in FME Server (2020.2).When you upload a workspace, you can check streaming, and under its settings, you need to set one reader and one writer as streaming input and output resp. Both are mandatory, you can't upload if any of them isn't set.I did that with a workspace, using an ACAD input and a JSON output. However, when we ran the workspace, it erred because it couldn't create the (testing) JSON output file. Yes, the same transformer that ought to stream its output. Only when I disabled the writer (and re-uploaded), I could run the workspace. We're using the post /transformations/transactdata/< repository >/< workspace > REST API endpoint, as the workspace has 3 parameters other than the streamed input. The API documentation for this endpoint does state, that it streams a fixed JSON output (Response Class), and so it's logical, that it doesn't allow other streaming outputs. What g
I'm configuring fme (fme server 2019.1.3.1) to use https. When I try importing a pfx wildcard certificate into the tomcat.keystore and I'm get the following error: Importing keystore C:\\certificates\\xxxxxxx.xxx.pfx to tomcat.keystore...keytool error: java.io.IOException: DerInputStream.getLength(): lengthTag=109, too big. Any thoughts on what the error might be and how to fix it? Thanks!
At this moment we have a working arcgis pro python environment working on FME Server (2020.2) and Desktop on a Virtual Machine. We've setup the python interpreter using the command prompt lines specified at https://docs.safe.com/fme/html/FME_Server_Documentation/AdminGuide/Using-Python-with-FME_Server.htm and set the PYTHONHOME variable with he custom python environement. However, when using FME desktop on the VM and changing the python interpreter to a different python environment (mainly for testing), the FME server also seems to change its custom python interpreter to the one used within the desktop application. When researching the information on python interpreters ( https://community.safe.com/s/article/choosing-a-different-python-interpreter-installati ), for FME Desktop there is the the following note: "NOTE: This option controls FME as a whole, and not just the current workspace. Therefore, all FME processes will use this alternative version of Python, until you reve
I am attempting to hide external user content in FME server (FME Server 2020.0.2.1, Build 20238 - linux-x64) deployed to Openshift using the safe provided helm charts and docker images (With some minor modifications). I have updated the docker images to apply the same change as described in the linked article by updating the relevent confd template. I have verified the file `/usr/local/tomcat/webapps/fmeserver/WEB-INF/conf$ file propertiesFile.properties` in the web container of the core pod is updated./usr/local/tomcat/webapps/fmeserver/WEB-INF/conf$ grep EXTERNAL_CONTENT propertiesFile.properties # HIDE_EXTERNAL_CONTENT - Disable all external content from being displayed in the WebUI HIDE_EXTERNAL_CONTENT=trueThis appears to be the correct file based on the document and I cannot find any other references to this term but I am not seeing any change to the WebUI and the links to safe.com are still available. Does anyone have any idea what the issue might be?
The default and non-overwritable company proxy setting on our FME server machines has not been working consistently against external data services in our 2019.2.1 FME server. I was glad it started to work consistently 4 weeks ago with our FME server 2020.1.3 upgrade in which we explicitly set the Proxy to a proxy IP address/Port inside the FME server. However, it stopped working since a week ago. The FME server error message shows the server is using the default company proxy setting again. Should the FME server proxy setting overwrite the server machine's proxy setting?
I have a Desktop Workbench 2019, it works perfect when ran from the desktop. However, FME Server 2019 fails to write to the SDE Geodatabase. In the FeatureWriter transformer, for the Connection File, I have the following syntax which works fine on Desktop: \\\\SERVER\\fmeservershare\\resources\\data\\Configuration\\SDE_Connection.sde Maybe the syntax to read it from FME server should be something like this??$(FME_SHAREDRESOURCE_DATA)\\Configuration\\SDE_Connection.sde I published the workbench to FME Server with the Connection file as: $(FME_SHAREDRESOURCE_DATA)\\Configuration\\SDE_Connection.sde but when I run it on FME Server, it doesn't write anything and no errors are giving in the log. It stops in line 107 and just hangs there. Is my Connection File syntax wrong? 107 Transactions are being used by the Geodatabase Writer Thank you.
Hello, We are running FME Server 2020.1.0.1 and are trying to connect it to our AD to allow users to login and run automations. I am struggling with an Express with a Distributed Engine installation, see this article: https://community.safe.com/s/article/separate-engine-installation. All steps in the documentation and this article have been followed carefully. The core machine is running as it should, and so is the FME Engine service on the distributed engine machine. Unfortunately, the Distributed Engine Host does not appear in the Hosts list under Licensing & Engines/Engines page in the WebUI. What could possibly be wrong?
Hi everyone, I'm running FME Server 2020.2.1 Build 20806 on a Linux Debian 10.6 host. I need to run a workspace that writes to a sqlite database previously uploaded in the shared resource data directory, but the workspace fails complaining it can't write to a read-only database. I discovered that when I upload a file in the shared resource data directory through the Web User Interface, the owner user:group of the file is root:root and not fmeserver:fmeserver as expected. After changing the ownership of the file (the sqlite database in this case) to fmeserver:fmeserver using the shell of the operating system, the workspace runs fine. This is obviously a workaround which is not suitable for a production environment with several users. Can anyone help me solving this issue? Thanks!
I have published a workspace to FME Server enabling the Data Streaming service with parameter Include Writers in Stream set to the output from a File copy writer. This output is a PDF file and the MIME type parameter of the writer is set to application/pdf.When executing the workspace in FME Server, the PDF opens as text inside the browser. Shouldn't it open as a PDF file inside the browser or show the dialogue to save it? This is what shows in the browser:To give some context to the problem, the workspace builds an html that is transformed to PDF using the HTML2PDFConvertor. To be able to stream the HTML2PDFConvertor output (the PDF file), I've set the output PDF path to the FME Server temp directory and I've used a File copy writer to 'move' the PDF file again to FME Server temp directory. This works as a kind of hack to be able to stream the PDF.
Hi there, I have ran into trouble when I am trying to install a distributed Engine to a Core machine installed With Express Install. That kind of installation is proposed by Safe in this article https://community.safe.com/s/article/separate-engine-installation. Installation of the distributed Engine is described in the documentation: https://docs.safe.com/fme/html/FME_Server_Documentation/AdminGuide/Adding_FME_Engines_on_Separate_Machine.htm. The core machine was Installed first, using Express installationThe FME Server System Share was shared (on the core machine). The user that will be running the engine service has been granted full control to the share The directory exists: Yes, the directory is accessible: Yes, the directory is empty: No. The requirement that the directory should be empty confuses me. It was filled up during the installation of the core, so how could it be? How should I go around this?
I upgraded our production FME server from 2019.2.1 to 2020.1.3, but restoring/importing the fsconfig file which was backed up from 2019.2.1 did not do anything. Did not see any errors though. I did the same upgrade on our test server two months ago without any issues. Wondering if anybody had experienced the same issue or knew how to diagnose the issue.
