Hi guys,This week I created a nice model A with runs smoothly combined with a main script B which includes a workspacerunner triggering workspace A. Is there a way I can track whether all the scripts started by the Workspace Runner are ready? In my case 21 features entered the WorkspaceRunner, starting model A, which leads to creation of 18 Excel files which is perfect. I would like to create a log somehow that 21 workspaces were started and 21 workspaces were completed resulting in 18 Excel files in this case.Workspace B now states that the WorkspaceRunner is finished, however, on the background workspace(s) A is still running for some time.
Hello. So I have created a workflow on Form where I:Read in a specific sheet from a specific excel file stored on my C Make some changes in the digits of that sheet Enter those changes to a feature writer where I update the sheet in question on my C That then triggers a feature reader that reads in the excel document that I just updated with the feature writer on my C The excel read in the feature reader has then done all the calculations based on the newly entered criteria. Process this onwardsThe purpose of this workflow is that the excel in question is a complex calculation module that has multiple intertwined sheets, so by doing this I just open up Form, fill out some published parameters (the digit changes) and then export an excel with calculation results. All without ever needing to open excel. My problem is that now I want to put this process on Flow with the following setup:Read in a specific sheet from a specific excel file stored in the resource folder on Flow Make some change
Hello, I’m starting my journey with Webhooking and of course I am already running into problems. So I have Enterprise 11.3 and Flow 2024.1 and no hosting enabled on Enterprise. So my workflow is fairly simple, I have created the following Webhook on our server: For the following service:Which then calls the very simple automatation on our Flow where any creation, updating or deleting in the dataset in the FeatureService (remember this service is referenced and not hosted) should kick of a single workspace and thats the end. However doing anything in that FeatureService, be it creating, updating or deleting does not kick of my automation. I have checked if Flow and Enterprise are speaking well together and it seems to be so as when I originally create the Webhook then the same automation kicks off with great results (its not a organisational webhook), just not when I then start to do stuff in the dataset itself. I have also made sure that the dataset in the FeatureService that originates
In this installation window, the folders look like in Windows 95 ! :D
Hello everyone, I have colleagues who were wondering whether there would be git integration available with fme workbench.I understand now at the moment there is no integration directly in fme workbench with git. However it's possible to manually check in .fmw scripts in git I heard, but I think it would be an useful functionality if you dan do that directly from fme workbench. I was wondering whether something like that would be available in the future.
Good day, I have this table in green. I want to regroup row 2 to 5 so the result should like row 11. Here is how row 2 to row 5 are connected:Row 2 to Row 3: row 2 end_crct_id = row 3 crct_id, Row 3 to Row 4: row 3 crct_id = row 4 begin_crct_id, Row 4 to Row 5: row 4 end_crct_id = row 5 crct_id.I have several of these cases, this only an example. The number of rows to combine varies every time.
Hello team! What is the recommended strategy to secure secrets in FME Form and python scrypts. Thanks in advance.have a great rest of your day.
I’ve been experimenting in FME and reading some conflicting data on this but it seems like there isn’t a way to publish from FME to AGOL raster data without the image license for ArcGIS online. Either AGOL stores it as an image file or FME will store it as a BLOB. I’ve tried using the pythoncaller and httpcaller to no avail. Anyone know any other workaround / have experience here?
Yes he does have hallucinations ! This transformer doesn’t exist. I wish it would though.
Hello FME Community, Salesforce recently announced the retirement of their SOAP API login(). Are there plans to replace the current Salesforce readers and writers or update them to support Salesforce’s OAuth 2.0 Flow? Currently the readers and writers use /services/Soap/u/51.0 which will be retired in the Summer 27 release. I’ve used these a good bit in production workspaces, so need to start mapping out some transition plans. For retrieving data, the SalesforceConnector will work, but it’s nice to be able to write and update data with a drop in transformer rather than setting up HTTP callers with Salesforce’s REST API. Any thoughts on the current plan for the Salesforce readers/writers or ideas on how to make this transition seamlessly?
Hi,I am new to FME.My question is simple and easy.I have a field that has multiple lines, FME is not able to read it.FME Version: 2025.1.1.0Data set has 5500 records, of those 300 gets rejected as it has multiple lines.I am trying to create lines. Hello,I’m using FME 2024.2 to read ORD DGN files stored in ProjectWise. The DGN files have a local coordinate system (LCC) defined in ORD, but when I read them into FME, the detected GCS appears incorrect — particularly the ORG_LAT value. Because of that, when I try to set the coordinate system and reproject to State Plane, the transformation doesn’t work properly.Has anyone encountered this issue before?Does the GCS definition in ORD need to follow a specific format or standard to be recognized correctly by FME?Any insight or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!GCS shown for features in FME
Hello, I would like to send notification to the InspectedBy field value on an Inspection when the Inspection is Completed but a Required field on the Inspection has not been populated using FME Workbench. I am new to FME and learning. Could anyone please give sample of FME Form Workspace for this please. ThanksAnita
Hi all, I’m wondering if it's possible to pull ArcGIS Server Logs data (Errors, Logs and Statistics)I’d like to do some fun FME diagnostic work on this data: using AI to read log messages, recording daily statistics and comparing stats daily and possibly alerting GIS by email.
Hello,I have not posted for a long time. I have been using FME Workbench 2022.2 and just now upgraded to FME Workbench 2025.1. What I have noticed is:In 2022.2 → Generate Workspace → Convert multiple files in any format into ESRI Shape format. I had no issues doing this.In 2025.1 → Generate Workspace → Convert multiple files in any format into ESRI Shape format. I get an error: “Unable to perform any licensing related tasks. Please check your Esri ArcGIS Compatibility workspace parameter, found in Navigator -> Workspace Parameters -> Spatial. This 64-bit version of FME requires ArcGIS Desktop along with 64-bit Background Geoprocessing; ArcGIS Pro; or ArcGIS Enterprise. Refer to this this article http://fme.ly/qua for more details”I do not have ESRI products installed on my server. (I never have needed them in past versions.)Also to note, I CAN convert one dataset (format doesn’t matter just other than Shape file) into an ESRI Shape file format successfully. It seems as though d
I’m looking to read in a load of word documents that contain tables of information. I’d like to extract all the text from those tables so that I can then search the text for specific information. I’ve tried using the Microsoft Word Reader and the MSWordStyler but I’m only seeing the paragraph text come through to the attributes. Any ideas how to extract the table text?
Hello,We are trying to set up a SharePoint web connection to use in FME at my workplace. Together with competent IT staff, we have been trying on our own for over six months without success. I thought I would ask here before we consider the next step! We have followed the following guides without success:How to Create a SharePointOnlineConnector Multitenant Web Connection – FME Support CenterHow to Create a SharePointOnlineConnector Web Connection with Application Permissions – FME Support Center The problem occurs when using the transformer. We get successful login attempts and connection to the web connection itself when we test it after configuration – but we encounter the error “Error Retrieving Selections – An unknown error has occurred” in the SharePointOnlineConnector transformer. This has no documentation and therefore we have reached a point where troubleshooting is done in complete blindness. This problem has been consistant even after we’ve change of parameters. We have set
I am trying to write some CAD data to an ArcGIS Enterprise Feature Service.I noticed there has been an update in the latest version but unfortunately we are using 2025.0 at present and wanted to see if there is a work-around to an issue related to true-curves. I am getting the following error message: ArcGISFeatureServiceWriter: Feature type 'Levels' has 'Use True Curves' enabled, but the feature service does not support true curvesPython Exception <FormatException>: FMEException: 1: ARCGISFEATURESERVICE: Feature type 'Levels' has 'Use True Curves' enabled, but the feature service does not support true curvesSAFE.ESRI-AGOL.ARCGISFEATURESERVICE writer: An error has occurred. Check the logfile above for details The writer has ‘Use True Curves’ set to ‘No’ but I still get the error message. Is there are way to remove ‘true curves’ or write the data to our ArcGIS Enterprise Portal to by-pass the issue?
I think we can all agree that FME is pretty unique, special and powerful in it’s no code approach to data movement, integration and automation.I’m sure many of us have heard of, or even used similar (FOSS) platforms to FME, such as Node-RED (https://nodered.org/) or IFTTT (https://ifttt.com/) ‘The algorithm’ recently pushed n8n towards me - https://n8n.io/, These platforms are more focused towards the API/Event integration side of things, rather than the entire data stack that FME excels at. Of course, with the right workspace, FME can do everything these tools can (and more)!I don’t particularly see these tools as being much of a threat to FMEs core data manipulation as they’re primarily targeted at stringing web events together. What I do think however, is it’s opening the doors to developers/teams/companies who have previously only ever thought of lines of code being able to solve solutions. It’s raising the awareness of these no code solutions and how (GUI based) tools like FME can
Edit: I think I found the issue. In the 2025 documentation (https://docs.safe.com/fme/html/FME-Flow/WebUI/Version-Control.htm) this note has been added “FME Flow currently supports only GitHub as a Git repository.”. Since my repository is on Azure it no longer works. I will leave this here, because I'm probably not the only one that will run into this issue.----original post:After update from 2024.2.1 to 2025.1.2 Version control is not working anymore. The issue is sort of the same I had last time: Only this time when I press Push to Remote I get the message “The remote ref update was rejected. Check your repository permissions or configuration and try again.”.I refreshed the token to be sure the right token is entered, but that did not help.I opened the repository with Visual Studio Code on the server (D:\ProgramData\Safe Software\FME Flow\repositories.The check-out branch is main and it says there are 125 changes. The branch is not published.Because last time I figured out the FME Fl
Just wondering what kinds of workflows do you all use to try to reproduce an issue in a workspace which was run on FME Server.I have some workspaces which have quite a few parameters and copy and pasting the parameters from FME Flow to FME Form is getting pretty old…Any clever workflows people have developed to set parameters automatically from a job?I’m thinking of putting together a tool/workspace to try auto populate parameters from a job but I wanted to see if I was just being dumb.I’ve been using presets to save time for a lot of the parameters which tend to stay the same, however, it I’m not careful I end up missing something and speeding time wondering what my results in Desktop and Server are different because I missed something small in the parameters
Hi, I am looking for a way to add attachements (pictures, pdfs ect) to a point layer published to Esri Enterprise using FME Flow. Does anyone managed to accomplish that?
FME Server 2022.2Build 22765 - win64I have an ArcGIS Portal Feature Service writer set up to update a single attribute. I am getting the following error ArcGIS Portal Feature Service Writer: Encountered an unexpected error. The error code from the server was '400' and the message was: 'Unable to complete operation.'. Details: 'True curve update not allowed.'I have specified to not update the spatial column so I would expect this error would not occur. It would appear that FME is trying to send a geometry
So I’ve been experimenting with using FME to build specific AI agents/agentic workflows.I’m using OpenAI’s API and leveraging function calling. It’s been quite fun and a really good learning experience. You can let the agent make decisions - if you give it tools to use then you can use looping transformers to let it use the various tools you give it, constantly updating it’s context. Looping transformers are a bit of a paint to work with and hopefully there could be something done in this space to make building these tools in FME easier. I’m still not sure what the best way to do this is or even if it makes any sense to use FME for this but I made some progress anyway:for example: should the tools be other CustomTransfomers for example or whole workspaces or maybe both. Should this be something somehow handled in Automations rather than a workspace? So many optionsSo far the agent isn’t interactive and I’m just putting all the context into the logfile, but in the end it would be real n
Hello everyoneFollowing this article I created (with the help of our IT folks) a OneDrive (Graph) web service with custom client and tenant ID values, and on using the Test feature I can successfully bring up the sign-in dialog, but my connection is repeatedly sent back for admin approval, even though I’m configured as an admin for the app, and the 365 admins approved my login. On returning to the app I get this:A bit of web research leads me Microsoft’s troubleshooting topics, but I don’t know my way around. Our 365 environment is pretty locked down, but IT say I should be good for the app.Has anyone been through this and has some tips? Thanks.
