I recently transferred MapInfo v15.2 from a computer with Windows 10 to a computer with Windows 7. I am trying to run the Universal Translator, but it gives me the following error:File C:\\Users\\Name could not be openedProgram terminating.I have been searching through the forums and throughout the documentation FME has, but I am unable to find a solution SO FAR. I am wondering if it is a security issue with Windows 7; I have multiple users set up on this computer. I will continue to search for answers, but if anyone on this forum can help me, I would be very grateful.Regards

 The FME Server Administrator's Guide indicates that configuration files must be modified in order to setup FME Server to receive emails: FME Server Admin Guide: Configuring FME Server to Receive E-mailBecause the file system is not available on FME Cloud, is this necessary?

I recently installed the new ArcGis (10.5) on our system. ArcGis is working perfectly well, but since then FME isn't able to execute ArcGis related (GeoDatabase) tasks. The Error call is: Unable to check out an Esri license. Please ensure ArcGIS is correctly licensed and that there are available licenses. Is this a known problem and what can I do to solve it (except for waiting 2 weeks for the new FME release). The only thing I can think of is reinstall the older ArcGis.

All,I have read and implemented the docker installation of FME server on Docker Engine as published by @GerhardAtSafe. https://knowledge.safe.com/articles/24815/deployment-of-fme-server-using-docker-toolbox.htmlMostly the installation, licensing and engine management runs fine. However, I am having an issue using the job manager to kill jobs. Any time i try to terminate a job I get error communicating with FME server host (hostid). Connection Refused. I have reason to believe this is to do with the fact that the hostname of the engine and the web/core are different (as they are containerised) do kill requests get sent on a different port address? Is this an issue with the docker configuration or has anybody else had the same issue? Appreciate any insights you may have had.RegardsGavin Montgomery

hello,i have a strange request and i am thinking if FME can help me in anyway,we have walked down a railway track and taking a video (360) allowing us to see the condition of assets eg a signal box, i have also got a simple ployline in LL84 showing the path.the request i have is when someone clicks on a point on the line they will get the video related to that area. could FME server crop the video?can FME be used to scale the video eg the start of the video is the start point of the line and the end of the video is the end point of the line?i know FME is not a video editing tool, but any help or ideas would be much appreciatedthanks

On a FME Server with job routing enabled I set the tm_tag parameter for a job by using the Direct URL Example from the WebUI and add the parameter to the end of the string. This works with the default dataset, but when I upload a temporary data set as a source data, the job fails, reporting the data was not found. How can I use a temporary upload in the Direct URL to run a workspace with the tm_tag parameter set?

On the Engines & Licensing page in FME Server 2016.1, the options to Refresh / Request / Upload a License File are not available! What could be the cause of this error?

HI for obtention of licence code in case of floating licence for FME Desktop, I would like to know if the informations contained in the MD-DOS command : ipconfig/all,are sufficient....I won't be able on site to be connected everytime, so I would ask the customer to type this command on the server computers where the licences will be installed.Regards

I'm trying to install FME desktop on a VM that's configured with a very small C:\\ drive which contains just the OS. All the program files are installed on the D:\\ drive. When prompted for installation folder I'm changing it to the D:\\ drive. I'm getting an error that there is not enough space on the drive, then I get an error 2755. I've tried installing it on my own workstation, on the C:\\ drive and it installs properly.

FME desktop application disappeared after upgrading Ubuntu 14.04 to 16.04. Reinstall FME 2016 on the new OS failed. Safe tech support confirmed that 16.04 had not been tested. If someone has had luck with Ubuntu 16.04, please share your installation procedure. Much appreciated!

Is there a reason why I get multiple notifications on a create topic when only one file is copied into the folder?I have done some testing with a reasonably small file (8mb) and when copied I get a total of 17 notifications published to the topic that has been set up as a directory watch, as you can imagine if multiple files are copied I get some major notification spam. I have noticed that there is a setting for 'Modify' (time to wait after modify) so that if multiple sequential notifications that are sent they can be ignored. Is there something like that for 'Create' that I am not aware of? I am really only looking for 1 notification for 1 fileI seem to be getting some unexpected results, has anyone else had success dealing with similar issues?

Hi.I'm working with directory watch and facing some issues. Sometime the trigger fires the workspace properly (once) and sometime it fires it several times (more than ten) in a second. Not clear to me what's happening. The workspace simply runs a sql command and (exiting python procedure) sends an email.Thanks for supportRoberto

I'm trying to set ORACLE_HOME for FME Server on Linux, but the FME Engine is not seeing it. I fetch it and print it in a workspace, but it's set to a value I definitely didn't set:/opt2/oracle8i/app/oracle/product/8.1.6How can I set ORACLE_HOME for the FME Engine?

How do I set the engines to use a proxy that isn't a system wide proxy?

Just getting started with server so excuse me if I'm asking something obvious...IT installed server for us in a Test and a Production environment. Now I want to create a subscription in Production but the list with protocols is empty... In Test we have a complete list. I have a hard time how to figure out to edit this list. Can someone give me a hint in the right direction? Thanks in advance.

How does licensing of an active/passive FME Server setup work?Is it correct that if you do a high available FME server install with a fail over node (active passive) and I have a license with 2 engines that I have to divide those two engines over the two nodes. Meaning my active node will have 1 engine and my passive node will have 1 engine? Or will they both have 2 engines? What happens if I have a license with 3 engines? Can I give 2 engines to the active node and 1 to the passive node?

I installed FME on Mac. FME starts but when i try to add a reader, I get this type of error message: "File /Library/FME/2016.0/metafile/NULL.fmf could not be opened". I checked the filesystem and the file is on the filesystem but the filename is lowercase. When I change it to Uppercase (NULL.fmf), I don't get this message anymore but I get another error message: "File /Library/FME/2016.0/metafile/GEOJSON.fmf could not be opened". I guess the files should all be in uppercase. Could the installation package be updated?

Hi all,I've just used the Emailer transformer for the first time. And I've run into a curious issue.I've added a local service mail address as BCC to all emails, but when I review the emails in the service inbox, they all seem to have no TO entry. However, some of the external TO adresses I'm sending to responds with an error, so they've obviously gotten an email.Is that caused by the Emailer sending separate mails to TO and BCC (and CC) ?Is this a bug or WAD ?Cheers Lars I

Unable to start the FME server services after the upgrade to 2016.1.2.1

I have a workspace running great on FME Desktop. When I run it from FME Server, it doesn't work. What gives?

I have a directory watch publication which notifies a topic which in turn notifies a subscription which runs a workspace. From a user standpoint, the workspace runs when a file is dropped into the directory being watched. I would like FME Server to notify me when the workspace fails in any way, not just under a specific condition(s). I can force the workspace to fail (by dropping the wrong file type in the directory) and can see it failed in the list of jobs. Can I utilize that somehow? Or should I use Notification Message Mapping in the subscription settings? The help for Notification Message Mapping is vague to me; I don't understand the specifics. Anyway, if someone could suggest a solution to email me when the workspace fails I would appreciate it. (FME Server 2016.1.0.1 Build 16494, Win32)

What is the location of the license files created by FME Desktop Licensing Assistant? And how can I ensure that users without Admin privileges will not have to run this application too?Keywords: mac license location fixed licence location
