I am a newcomer to using FME products. I have been reading several documents relating to my question. However, I would like to have an answer directly from your staff.We are a two shop software (Bentley Product) MS – used by our designer. GIS – used as an asset management tool.At this time we are also maintaining our assets data in MS as well as in GIS. The purpose for this practice is that our designers are able to consume the historical data while designing a project from our MS asset registry data repository. This process is becoming a lot more Painstaking an enormous amount of work for our MS and GIS staff as well as major duplication of effort. My goal is to be able to maintain one assets data repository (GIS) and have our designer consume this data in the MS environment thru a conversation/extract tool from GIS to DGN. Hi i've only just started using FME (2016) so this is likely a very simple problem. i've created a workspace that takes a series of MI tab files, and re-maps some attributes to a writer. it works fine. now that its finished i want to run the same tool again with different data (same structures). what is the best way of doing this?i've tried right clicking on the reader > edit 'NAME [MAPINFO]' parameters and changing the data there and that doesn't seem to work when i run the tool. nether does reader menu > update feature types.Data_1 Col_A Col_C Data_2 Col_C Col_B Data_3 Col_B Col_A  Output Col_A Col_B Col_C

Converting a shape file to a MySql table and all is working with the extraction of each attributes except i can not identify the latitude and longitude values that represent the point geometry. Can any one help me with how I identify and split out the coordinates in a shape file. thanks

hi,I am working on CAD to geodatabase: for which I will have .mdb(esri pgdb) as output, can I check how do I create a modal to push this mdb file into ArcSde, such that every time I run this modal it will append the new data. Hi,Although, I have worked with transformers but I am fully new to XMLs.I have an XML input file, but, unlike other XMLs, when I open this xml in notepad++, its as good as a text file only. Its not parsed ad segmented. Although, I tried some transformers, but didn't work. Once these XMLs are written, I would like to split it in 50 attributes in each file. Anyone with the solution !!

I have access to the sde30 reader but it is greyed out in the list of availible writers. I found this article https://knowledge.safe.com/articles/358/arcsde-lib...but I don't understand why the reader is available but not the writer, seems like the reader would need the sdk and dlls as well as the writer.

As a developer I want to automate the deployment of fme workspaces So that I can deploy fme code alongside the rest of my solution  Given that I have one or more fmw files that have been developed using FME desktop as part of a wider solution When I run my silent install/automated deployment Then there is an FME server workspace for each source fmw file and the workspaces are in the correct target repositories and these are available to the solution through the rest api  On install, the default workspaces of fme server 2014 SP3 are installed using a script (configureDemoWorkspaces.bat) that calls out to java and a class (WorkspaceServiceInstaller) which uses an xml file (serviceWorkspaces.defs) to control which services to create - Is the WorkspaceServiceInstaller java class documented anywhere?

Hi,I have Oracle table with 2 geometry in 2 columns (B_ETYKIETA_GEOMETRIA, B_ETYKIETA_ODNOSNIK). I need to transform it to GML with geometry columns (geometriaKarto, odnosnik) but in my process FME chosen only one geometry table B_ETYKIETA_GEOMETRIA. How can I choose and transform geometry from B_ETYKIETA_GEOMERIA to geometriaKarto and B_ETYKIETA_ODNOSNIK to odnosnik?

I am trying to write to several PostGIS databases. I can write to the version 9.3 with no trouble but cant to 9.4 or 9.5. I am trying to rule out incompatibility between FME and Postgis before I reinstall the PostGIS databases.

I'm still pretty new at FME Server. How do you determine the FME Server email address to send email data to with attachments? I'm at a loss to figure that out.

Hi,  I would like to use the ESRI Shape Writer in the dynamic mode. It works but it writes the shapefile by default with shape_polygon z and m.   I tried to change the settings in the configure dynamic schema parameters to 1. fixed Shape_polygon --> same result 2. First feature defines geometry Type (the geometry type is 2D) --> same result    Roger mentioned the same issue the 22. I have a simple GML file with one building in it. When i run the file in FME to simply write it again without any operation somehting very strange happens. FME replaces the xlink.href statements in the data with the original data form the reference which already includes a gml:id and that duplicates the IDs in the file. for example:Original data:<gml:MultiSurface> <gml:surfaceMember xlink:href="#p_r_2"></gml:surfaceMember> </gml:MultiSurface>.........<gml:Polygon gml:id="p_r_2">  <gml:exterior>    <gml:LinearRing> <gml:posList>2.00 0.00 3.00 2.00 2.00 3.00 1.00 2.00 3.50</gml:posList>    </gml:LinearRing>  </gml:exterior></gml:Polygon>Will become this:<gml:MultiSurface>    <gml:surfaceMember> <gml:Polygon gml:id="p_r_2">

HelloI want to convert a DWG file to DGN. A celllibrary is attached and a correct seedfile. All lines and texts are converted correctly and the unrotated blocks are converted to the right cell as well. The rotated blocks are converted to cells and rotated in the DGN but the rotation totally wrong. I cannot see what the problem is. Units, Settings, I really don't know. Does someone have a solution? Hi folks,I have a CityGML file with many buildings. These buildings have buildingParts with unique gml_ids. I need to access these buildingPart ids in an automatic way, so later I can use them as gml_parent_ids. Can somebody please suggest me a way how to automatically extract gml_id from CityGML feature type. Please and thanks!

I don't deal with writing XML very often (ever, really), so I'm struggling to do something and of course they need it yesterday. The vendor needs an export from my Esri database in XML format and I think the only thing I am missing is that my XML file (using the XML Writer) is writing "elements" instead of "attributes", so they say they can't import it. I can't for the life of me figure out what I need to do to achieve this without going down a very deep hole and learning XML in the next five minutes... Is there a setting I'm not understanding, or is it really that complicated? I don't need geometry, they just want to fill a table with my data.

I have an .ifc file with solids but when i convert them to ACAD it gives me AUTOCAD polymeshs....how is exactly the right way to keep the solids as ACAD solids?Thx Franco

I am going to use FME to run finalisation on ortophoto projects. Two of the products require JPEG to be part of final delivery. One require compression Q= 10, the other Q= 20. Producing the files is fast enough, and images look good when viewing in IrfanView. But when reading the header-info in "ISRU Display Header", I realise that the actual compression deviates from the set compression value in the Writer. I cannot deliver this to client, as they will simply not accept non-compliance of the specs given (when they say Q= 10, they mean it). Does anyone have experience in similar issues, and able to give me a hand?

Is there a way to transform IndoorGML (xml but not normal xml or GML) to Esri Shapefile?

I have a workspace where I read a shape file, clip the data and write it to a ESRI geodatabase with the  Esri Geodatabase (ArcSDE Geodb) reader. The attributes in the shape file contains swedish caracters. The characters is right when I read the shape file in ArcGIS but when I write the data to the geodatabase the swedish characters is replaced. How can I handle that? I have try to change character encoding on the shape file writer to iso-8859-1 (which contain swedish characters).I'm attach print screens from ArcGIS when reading the shape file (as it should look like) and from ArcGIS when reading the geodatabase.

Every time I try and style a dgn for cells, I get a warning (9 heterogeneous aggregate features were split for the DGNV8 Writer into homogeneous features containing a total of 9 point, 9 curve, 0 area and 0 text geometries). Why is this happening and how can I get FME to create my cells in a dgn file?
