Question

FME, Microsoft Access and Workgroup files?

In the FME 2013SP1 documentation on the Microsoft Access Reader/Writer, there is language that states:

Please note that databases associated with a Microsoft Access workgroup are not supported.

http://docs.safe.com/fme/2013sp1/pdf/reader_writer_pdf/mdb_ado.pdf, page 3

I want to assume that this is still unsupported functionality in FME 2014+. We're trying to use a database with a workgroup file, and we can't get into the provider to change the user name.

Is this still unsupported? Has anyone here ever successfully connected to an MDB with a workgroup file in FME 2014+?

The latest documentation for FME MS Access reader still has the same information about not supporting Workgroup databases.

Yes, it is not supported yet. There hasn't been enough user demand up till now. I suggest that you file a case with our support team (safe.com/support) and tell them what use case you have for this. That way they might be able to increase the priority. You should tell them it is PR#22128

And add it as a new idea, so other users can vote for it!

That might get the attention of users who are not aware it is not supported.
