Dyanmic ESRI File Geodatabase Writer: Drop and Create not working

I am writing to a file gdb, I will need to run my workbench to update this file gdb each month. The schema of my incoming tables may change so I have used a schema scanner with a dynamic writer.I want to use drop and create for table handling but it is not behaving as expected. Instead of dropping the existing feature class it just appends the entries to the existing table.I am not sure why this is happening. Of note, my feature classes are also within feature datasets. See attached screenshot of writer settings.

I'm unable to see/select GoogleBigQuery as Reader in FME

I’m new to FME tool and I wanted to pull data from Google BigQuery tables and convert into GeoDatabase and shapefile. I'm using FME Workbench version 2024.1.1 and I'm experiencing an issue with using Google BigQuery as a reader. But I’ve installed Google BigQuery as a transformer and attempted to pull data, but no data is being retrieved. I’ve also authenticated using a service account key file, but the data still isn’t showing up.

I’m trying to follow the FME Form course from a MAC and one of the very first exercises is using a Esri Geodatabase (File Geodb Open API) writer. Unfortunately I’m getting this error on the platform. Is there any workaround for this?

ArcGIS Online Feature Service Writer: Error 405

Hi there, I keep getting this error message: ArcGIS Online Feature Service Writer: Encountered an unexpected error. The error code from the server was '405' and the message was: 'This SqlTransaction has completed; it is no longer usable.'. Details: 'Unable to apply edits. Please check your parameters.' Any ideas? It’s attempting a truncate. I have purged temporary files and tried to replace all the connections and make a copy of the workbench but still no dice. Thanks,Joe

Error: “the number of points is less than required for feature”, We are extracting data from CAD files. The destination is layers stored in ESRI file Geodatabase. Copying the features from the generated layers to other enterprise geodatabse layers result in the error below: CAD file: http://www.mediafire.com/download/ii2dszjoo4zoij4/AsSamou_Hebron_MasterPlan_05_X_03.dwg Workbench Extracting the Roads polygon (Roads = Boundary – Landuses) What might be the issue here? Reading/Executing Microsoft Access Queries

Hello! I'm working with one of our legacy systems built in Microsoft Access, and I need to extract data from a query. So far, the only method I’ve found involves using the system caller and command prompt. Are there any alternative ways to achieve this?I've tried using the system caller, but I’m encountering security issues with the runtime version. It appears that I need to set the location as trusted, but I can't do that with the runtime alone. We're aiming to avoid installing the full version of Access, so we're limited to using just the runtime.

Creating an ArcGIS Pro Layer File in FME

Hello, Has anyone ever created an ArcGIS Pro layer file *.lyrx inside FME for use in ArcGIS Pro? For example, converting a *.dwg file into *.gdb, aswell as creating a layer file which holds the symbology from the *.dwg. Thanks, @Takashi Iijima @danilo_fme @Hans van der Maarel

Drone image footprint calculation

Hi, We would like to be able to calculate the real world footprint of drone images to result as a trapezoid polygon. This should be possible with only the exifdata that we get from the custom transformer "exifReader" as far as I can tell. I found a python version here, but it requires additional installation of vector3d from the python script. Anyone got a solution to calculate drone image footprints?https://gist.github.com/luipir/dc33864b53cf6634f9cdd2bce712d3d9 The custom transformer FootprintCreator promises something similar but requires a CSV-file from the camera. Anyone got a suggestion/solution? It would be a neat transformer that I think a lot of people would benefit from. We have a couple of different DJI drones.

Warning reading Snowflake Spatial Data

When using a FeatureReader transformer to read Snowflake spatial data, the following warning is posted into the log.Snowflake Spatial Reader: Skipping data in column '.GEOG' due to error (JDBC Type = VARCHAR, Vendor Type Name = GEOGRAPHY, Error: class java.lang.String cannot be cast to class [B (java.lang.String and [B are in module java.base of loader 'bootstrap'))The process does complete normally, but the geometry is not read automatically. Has anyone else encountered a problem like this? I’m using FME Form 2024.0.1.0, Build 24202.

replace substrings based on a lookup table

I am trying to find a functionality within FME that allows me to replace substrings based on a lookup table. Since I have several hundred mappings, chaining string replacers together isn’t really an option.Basically something like an AttributeValueMapper that looks at substrings instead of the whole value only or a string replacer that accepts multiple string/replacement inputs.Is there such a transformer or any workaround to do this?Thank you!

Different NetCDF raster with FME than with QGIS or ArcGIS-Pro

Hello,i’ve recently worked with a raster from a NetCDF file and noticed, that loading the raster in FME gives a different raster than loading it in QGIS or ArcGIS-Pro (see Screenshots).Data can be found here: https://opendata.dwd.de/climate_environment/CDC/grids_germany/daily/hyras_de/precipitation/ My question is why? Has anyone experienced this behavior before?

FME does not know about coordinate system `EPSG:102003'

Full error;PROJ: proj_create_from_database: crs not foundMicrosoft SQL Server Spatial Reader: Failed to read coordinate system from SQL Server because FME does not know about coordinate system `EPSG:102003'I can use 102003 in the ProjReprojector tool, but, rather than assign _FME_0 as the CRS for this table, it leaves it as unknown, which means the reprojector tool fails, and 102003 doesn’t exist for me to use in the CRSSetter transformers. How do I set the CRS in feature reader when my desired CRS is not in the catalog (note to FME: this is also a request) I tried defining a custom projection here; demos-safe-software.fmecloud.com/fmedatastreaming/Coordsys/Start.fmw?&token=01655ff804fe3b23f29a7b65568c51e81cd09691but this workbench failed in translation / does not create .prj file I can use.

Unzip folders through Systemcaller

I am using SystemCaller Transformer to unzip the folders to particular directory using this command""C:\Program Files\7-Zip\7z" x "@Value(source_directory)" -o"@Value(_unzip_directory)" -aoa" This process usually runs at night as subprocess within a FME Workspace. All Zipped folders are at same location. My concern is it skipped to extract one of the zipped folder. To check if there is any issue with the zipped folder I checked by running the FME process Manually and it worked fine(extracted all the zipped folder).I also checked by running the same through task scheduler from same user with which the process runs at night, and again it worked fine and was able to unzip all the folders. What could be the cause of FME skipping it? Any help would be highly appreciated.

Workspace runner skipping entries in the output

Hello people. I am having an issue that i cannot resolve. I am using the FME for 2 months now. Basically i have a workspace that performs pointOnRaster value extraction, does some calculations based on the result and writes to table/excel file/csv or whatever. Because i want to run this process over 10 000 files i created a workspace runner that loops trough a folder of *.nc files and compares them to one single shapefile containing the points. Regardless of the output format or the different approaches i've tried i am not getting the whole batch of results written in the output. For example i ran the workflow over the first 326 files and the WorkspaceRunner gives me 326 successfully processed entries. But the output file contains only 87 entries. If i run that workspace again it gives me between 67 to 90 entries but nothing close to 326. The log file doesn't indicate any kind of a problem. I've tried to do that with vector files as well, but still i am having the same issu

Create new attribute using parameter name

Good day,I have the following parameters in my script:AVE_AVENUEBLVD_BOULEVARDCTR_CENTREPL_PLACERD_ROADEach parameter is set up as a choice, when running the script you have the option to chose YES or NO for each parameter.Later in the script I want to retrieve the parameters for which YES has been chosen. I want to create a new attribute whose value is a list of the parameter names (keep only the letters before the underscore). Let’s say AVE_AVENUE, BLVD_BOULEVARD and CTR_CENTRE are set to YES ; PL_PLACE and RD_ROAD are set to NO. A new attribute called “address” is created and its value should be: ‘AVE’, ‘BLVD’, ‘CTR’. How can I do so ? Thanks for your help.

Problem using FeatureReader with ArcGIS Portal Feature Service

I’m trying to use the FeatureReader to read 3 features from an ArcGIS portal feature service layer by reading in a spreadsheet and using a WHERE clause with an attribute in the spreadsheet. The FeatureReader will connect to the service and I can select the correct table in the “Feature Types to Read” parameter. But when I try to add the WHERE clause FME crashes before I can start creating the WHERE clause. The second image below indicated the point when it crashes.I can read the full table with no problem using the ArcGIS Portal Feature Service reader. How can I get the FeatureReader to run and read the required features?

HTTP/FTP transfer error: 'SSL connect error'

Hello, I want to access an api (not open to public but from one of our suppliers) using the HttpCaller .Connecting to the API with postman works fine. Connecting from the same server with FME gives the error: HTTPCaller (HTTPFactory): HTTP/FTP transfer error: 'SSL connect error'HTTPCaller (HTTPFactory): Please ensure that your network connection is properly set upHTTPCaller (HTTPFactory): No proxy settings have been entered. If you require a proxy to access external URLs, please ensure the appropriate information has been entered Connecting with FME from another environment works fine. We dont use a proxy.I have changed the option: Verify SSL certificates to NO Any ideas on what could be the problem?

Schema Scanner Date/Time Detection

I am using the Schema Scanner with a dynamic writer in my workspace and it is awesome except that it often incorrectly identifies some of my integer fields as date/time fields. If I turn off the date/time detection then my actual date/time fields get written as strings or integers. Right now I am running it with date/time detection on and then I put an attribute manager on the schema and find the ones it has incorrectly identified and manually adjust them but I feel this kind of takes away from the dynamic nature of the schema scanner. Is there a better way to do this? I wish I could tell it to ignore certain fields or specify the fields that it should look for date/time in but again that is taking away from the dynamic nature of the bench.

Reading ArcGIS Online Feature Service shared with the organization - not owned by the user or shared with a group.

Using an Esri ArcGIS Online connection and the Esri ArcGIS Online (AGOL) Feature Service reader, I'm unable to read a feature service that has been shared to our organization.When looking at the select form, i’m only provided my user folder and a groups folder. The feature service i’d like to read isn’t owned by me or shared with a group. Is this as-designed or is there another way to read it? Thank you
