I have a job running that takes 10 minutes and generates 19.000 rows in the log. What’s the best way to find out where the time is spent? I suspect a few specific transformers, but since this is probably a common question I wonder what other people are doing.

Hello FME community, I would like to identify all locations that are within a 300m-perimeter around a polygon, taking into account barriers (large roads, rivers etc.). In ArcGIS there is a tool called “Distance Accumulation” that does just this, but I don’t want to depend on it. Thanks!

I have a workbench which is calling data back for 8 reports via 8 different httpcallers. I can add a date parameter to the URL to call back one date at a time. I have 60 dates I need to individually grab the data for. How can I get it too complete the workbench, move on a day and run it again, and again...and so forth, through a list of dates?

Up until 4/12, my workspace was writing to a SP list normally. It reads data from SQL and updates the SP list to match any changes. After someone changed the name of a SP column on the 12th, the workflow errored - but after the change was reverted, it still errored. Hello, I am trying to write 3D Geometries (Points and Linestrings) to an Oracle-Database (21c Express). In the process all z-Coordinates get lost and SDO_GTYPE is wrongly written as 2001 or 2002 (2-Dimensional Geometries) instead of 3001 and 3002. Multiple Geometries are entering the writer as an aggregate (example below). Apart from the z-Coordinate missing these are written and interpreted correctly when writing to Oracle. I have checked the “Contains Z Ordinate” Option in the Writer-Parameters. Does anyone have anymore ideas what I could try?

Sometimes when I do a transformation from dwg to shape everything is included in 1 polyline (text, pipes, arrows) and when I look at it in inspektion mode I see that the dwg is splitting the lines by color, how do i do the transformation with a separation by color or adding the color value inside the whole polyline Sorry if my vocabulary is wrong

Currently unable to use Feature Reader (version 15) with: Spatial Filter = "Initiator is OGC-Within Result" My initiator is a points layer and the Result layer is a polygon layer, both in the same coordinate system. It gives me a _reader_error of <missing> with no further explanation. This was upgraded from FME 2022.2 Feature Reader Version(13). No changes to any settings. When I copy/paste the version 13 Feature Reader from FME 2022 back into this 2024 workspaces and run it, it works just fine. Has functionality changed? If so, can someone point me to the doc that explains it?Or is this a bug?

Hi, I would like to ask if there is a way to share webconnections to group of users with partial permission (ie only access permission) not full permission. the issue with full permission that the shared users can be able to delete web connections I shared. I have to tried to take off their manager and create permission but still wont be able to let them do not remove the share connection. We are looking for a way can do partial permission setting up. My company does SSL inspection/interception which is causing errors when trying to view background maps in FME Form. I have seen ways to fix this for the FME Flow (Server) side, but is there any way to change any configurations for FME Form to handle this? The CA certificate for our authority is in the Trusted Root Certification Authorities certificate store on machines so I’m not sure why it isn’t trusted if FME is using the machine’s certificate store for trust. Below is an example of error seeing from FME Flow 2025.0.1 (but have seen on previous versions as well). Today I'm breaking my rule of never manually (or automatically) editing a workspace file, in order to dynamically update a choice-type user parameter.Question of the Week This question was asked by @philippeb who needs to send a list of names to a survey choice field. Q) Our employees fill a weekly survey about their health and their kids going to summer camp activities. The survey [fields] change in time, depending on the kids that subscribed. The subscribed kids are exported into an Excel file every week. I thought to read the file with FME and push the kids into the survey every week. That way the list of kids in the survey could change without our help. And the kid (or his parent) could select his name to fill the survey. The issue is that we don't know any survey platform able to change automatically from a script. Do you know if any kind of platform could change when FME pushes new values into it? A) I know of a platform that could be used to provide a weekly survey: FME Server!

in a FME FORM i have made some user parameter, that takes in input; one of them have a conditional visibility based on whether another user parameter has an input of > 100. When i run the creator in FORM, and input a number abobe 100, it works, but when i publish it to FLOW the conditional visibility doesn’t work. then, if I change the condition to “is 100” instead og “> 100” and republish, it works. is this a bug, or is there a work around?

I am Featurejoining the output from a change detector that compares an original layer from ArcGIS Online to a revised layer from my Geodatabase. Note: The AGOL layer was originally published from ArcGIS Pro from the coordinate system WGS 1984 Web Mercator (auxiliary sphere) . The Featurejoiner transformer rejects the features saying: “Coordinate system does not match first feature's coordinate system” Similar to the issue as seen in https://community.safe.com/topic/show?tid=20659&fid=8 When I inspect the original and revised features, my features on AGOL have “SPHERICAL_MERCATOR” and my revised features have “SPHERICAL_MERCATOR_0” In my workspace, my revised features are reprojected with ESRIReporojector to WGS_1984_Web_Mercator_Auxiliary_Sphere before entering the change detector. They then show a Coord system of “SPHERICAL_MERCATOR_0”. FYI The ESRIProjector does display a warning saying “2.1_EsriReprojector: Ignoring input feature coordinate system `_MGA2020-54_FME_0'. Hi - I could use a hand. We are working with FME Flow 2024.1.1 with work spaces being generated in FME Desktop 2024.1.1. The data download service is working fine, but we would like to be able to do one or two things: Is it possible to just download a .docx or xslx file without it being zipped? It is one other step that our end users don’t need. If not, is it possible to name the zip file according to report for the area we are working in, something like: BostonStreets_20250203.zip. An example of the output we are seeing, and would like to change, is attached. We can name the files within the zip file whatever we want, no problem. Any help or suggestions are appreciated! I'm migrating spatial data from AutoCAD (hosted in an Oracle database) to a SQL Server(ESRI geodatabase). I want to automatically extract domain values from Oracle lookup tables and populate them as domains in the SQL Server (EGDB) without using ESRI tools (like ArcGIS or ArcPy). Is there a way to automate this process, and what would be the recommended approach?

Ok so I have read that the Waze JSON feed is not formed correctly which stops FME from natively reading the GeoJSON with a reader. You have to use a httpcaller with the Accept-Encoding heading parameter. So I got the translation started but I have hit a snag with the line geometry for the JAMS and IRREGULARLITIES feature categories. I have a JSON file from waze that I am trying to read. I am using the JSON (JavaScript Object Notation) reader. There are three schema; alerts, irregularities and jams I can read alerts okay with this query json["alerts"][*] Flatten Nested JSON values into Attributes = Yes Read Entire Feature as JSON Fragment = No which reads 433 alerts, each with a location.x and location.y which allows me to built a point object (Vertex) for each feature. But I am struggling with the irregularities and jams. The irregularities have a line object which obviously does not convert into two neat columns. How do I read the line object? Hi, We are trying to use a FileCopy Transformer to transfer files from one location to our server (synology) / other computers (other computer). If we do it in Ubuntu GUI / SystemCaller command it works perfectly. But the file copy transformer always give error messages as we don’t have sufficient permission. Even if I put our NAS credential in the transformer (with a featureWriter), it give the error messages. The files are created in the server but there’s no content inside. Does somones already experienced it ? Thank’s Sam

If you have an existing automation and need to make a change, you make your changes and publish \\ overwrite in FME Forms. Once you go to the automation and stop it, all parameters are reset to defaults. This happens even to workspaces that were not updated. This has happened the last 2 or 3 releases, currently we are on FME Flow 2023.1 Build 23619 - win64
