Connection issue to MS SQL

Hey guys, I'm not sure if this is the right forum to ask, but I'm at a loss as to what to do here. start workspace by http-Request -> Send response

Hi everybody, I created a Workspace. This Workspace should be started by an external http-request. If the workspace ended, i wanted to send back a response. I published the Workspace with fmedatastreaming + included the writer to the stream.The response was send as a file. I wanted to send the response as content in response. Any Ideas?

ChangeDetector on line geometry, nothing come up as Updated despite UID present i both Original and Revised dataset

I am trying to find line geometry that has been changed between two dataset. I know there are minor and major changes (Tolerance set to 0 at the moment). But the result does not make sense to me. Nothing comes out the Updated channel. Just Intersted and Deleted. Does the Change detection transformer work on lines?All the Deleted features come from Original stream. All Reviced come as Inserted.Is it something to do with datatypes?I just did a test and took a feature from the Delete stream and it does exist in both original and reviced dataset.I am matching on a UUID key example: A53B8017-9987-4636-B941-737AF58C5F08 EDIT: Since I am matching on UUID i was not sure FME handel them as strings. But I did a AttributeValidation on Type String and that came out possitive. EDIT: This is the WKT of the objekt with same id, from two different sources.The result is going to Deleted. But as you can see the WKT is identical. Just to be clear: I created a WKT attribute to double check what was happen

Hi all, Last year, I received my FME Certified Professional certificate.An achievement that I am proud of. I want to check if I am still the only FME Certified Professional at my place of work. 2022.1.1 FeatureWriter isn't sending to output ports (worked in 2021.2)

I am creating a series of small jpeg files using a feature writer with each jpeg getting it's name from a unique value (myRLU_@Value(RLUOID)). I recently upgraded to 2022.1.1 from 2021.2 - things were working until I upgraded. I have 20 records coming into the FeatureWriter and 20 showing in the Summary port but no records passing through the output port.The FeatureWriter creates the jpgs but does not pass through the records to the testfilter transformer? Has anyone else had issues with this in 2022.1.1? Any ideas how to get this running again? Could this be helpful in diagnosing the issue: FeatureWriter_5: Bulk features are not supported because the expression contains a function call After playing around some more - looks like the issue is the FeatureWriter using an attribute as the output filename. When I change it to a "hard-coded" value, the records are available in the output port.

Is there a generic way to reference attribute name (not the value held by the attribute) of a selected attribute in an AttributeManager condition?

I want to use the same condition for each attribute, with the only variation being the attribute/field name of the attribute to which the condition applies.

Unable to run Esri Python 3 scripts on FME Server, even though all settings/compatibility appears to be correct

I am having issues running workspaces on FME Server that contain Python 3 (using Esri GIS Python module). This is the error I am getting: The workspace has Python Compatibility set to 'Esri ArcGIS Python 3.6+', which requires an appropriate version of ArcGIS Pro or ArcGIS Server. If ArcGIS is not required by this workspace, then update Python Compatibility to a non-Esri-ArcGIS Python. Otherwise, please install the required ArcGIS product, or if ArcGIS Desktop already installed, update Python Compatibility to 'Esri ArcGIS Python 2.7'. coordinates or measures are out of bounds when reprojecting features from EPSG: 4326 TO EPSG:3857 and creating a featureclass using fme desktop

Hello,I have several featureclasses to convert from EPSG:4326 TO EPSG:3847. Almost all of the input featureclasses got reprojected and got saved as a new output featureclass . But, for few, I receive the below error ,An error occurred while attempting to add a shape to a feature buffer. The error number from ArcObjects is: '-2147220936'. The error message from ArcObjects is: {The coordinates or measures are out of bounds.} I'm not sure what is the reason and how to resolve it. When tried using Arcgis pro it worked well but not in fme desktop. I used ESRI reprojector for this operation and even I tried using other reprojection transformers too and I get the same issue. Can any one provide some guidance or solution to this problem? Do I need to change any writer parameters ? Thanks.

Esri Geodatabase (ArcSDE geodb) readers gives an error only on FME server. (The item does not have a definition.)

Hi, With FME I want to read a sde geodatabase. (feature class). For this I use the reader: “Esri Geodatabase (ArcSDE geodb)”. Until recently this worked. With ArcGis Pro an Attribute rule has been created for 1 field and since then the reader no longer works if the workspace is on FME server. If the workspace is run in FME desktop (not FME server) the reader will still work properly. The message I get when the workspace is running on FME server is: An error occurred while attempting to open the table, feature class or relationship class 'My_TABLE'. The error number from ArcObjects is: '-2147211773'. The error message from ArcObjects is: {The item does not have a definition.} What could be the cause of this. FME server and FME Desktop are the same version. Greatings, Hans

Emailer broken in 2023.2?

I just upgraded my FME from 2021.2.4 to 2023.2 today. My emailer transformers are working fine on my workbench that were previously there. I went to add a new emailer to my upgraded workbench, but I cannot set the parameters, it's stuck at Generic SMTP and no connection settings are anywhere to be found, so no host/port/encryption settings. I removed all the emailers from my workbench, then removed the emailer transformer from my PC, then redownloaded it from FME hub, and still no dice. Any advice? Build is 23764

Write in a PostgreSQL editable view

Hello,I have an editable view in PostGIS (PostgreSQL) and I'm trying to write in it with FME.For that, I've:Added my view from a PostGIS reader (to have its structure - and confirm it exists)Duplicated this view in a new PostGIS writer (to keep its structure)Set the table handling as `Use existing`Connected a worflow to end in my viewBut when I run the workspace, I'm facing this error:POSTGIS Writer: Table 'xxx.yyy' does not exist. How to expose raster attribute values

I have a land cover raster with values that can be seen in ArcGIS Pro when looking at the raster's attribute table. When bringing this raster into FME using the "Esri Geodatabase (File Geodb Raster Dataset)" Reader, the raster is brought in with no attribute values (see screenshot). Looking for help with bringing the raster into FME so that the attribute records will be populated with the raster's values shown in the ArcGIS attribute table? Question of the Week: Can I recover an FME Server admin password if I forget it?

Question of the WeekThis question was asked in Live Chat this week, but to be fair it has come up several times from various users...Q) I've forgotten the password to the admin account on our FME Server. Is there a way to recover it? A) In short, no! But because the FME Server Support team has seen an increasing number of cases recently where a customer is unable to log in because of a forgotten password, I think it's worth outlining what the options are at this point, and how to avoid getting here in the first place!What's the Default Admin Password?Up until recent FMEs, the default administrator account used to be admin/admin. You can see why we felt that wasn't a good choice, because it's so easy to guess.So now - although the default is still admin/admin - you are forced to change it when logging in for the first time. I tried the FMEFeature.reproject(coordSys) method but it can do only 2D reprojection. I want to do reprojection using Python only not with any transformer like EsriReprojector or CSmap.

Flow Workspace App 'Browse Resources' is broken

Since updating our server to the newest version of FME Flow, the "Browse Resources" button is broken on workspace apps. Users can only upload their own temporary files. Uploading files is a functional workaround, but it is much slower than selecting a file from the network drive mounted on the server. I have verified that both my user account and the app have permission on the resource. For the app I have given List and View permissions to the folder. Any recommendations?

Child process is stuck on queue when using FMEServerJobSubmitter

I have a batch workspace that spawns multiple child workspaces using four separate FMEServerJobsubmitters. I have two engines in FME FLow but the other engine is occupied with other processes so I'm able to use only one engine. As i understood, if i set Wait for jobs to complete to "Yes" and Submit Jobs "In Sequence", FME Flow should spawn a sub-engine that will run the child workflows and once they are ready it will continue the parent process. This is the behaviour that I would need because I only want to continue parent workflow when all the child processes are successful. However, with this setup the first child process enters queue and never starts. It also shows in the parent log file that the submit was successful, but it ends up into queue. I have separate queues for the two engines and both the parent process and the child process are tied to engine2 running in queue2 so it should interfere with the other engine and queue. Hello,I need to print my workbench on size A0. It works fine for size A2 and smaller but for size A0 or A1 the workbench freezes or crashes. I tried with different workbenches , different Pc's and different PDF-creators but no success. I use FME 2019.1.Maybe someone has an idea to solve the problem?

Curious incident using SQL Server - huge log file as a result

Hi.I just had a job on our FME server 2022.2.2 go haywire.When reading from one or more database tables, it suddenly spews out a _lot_ of error messages, repeating the same two lines from line 319 to line 865997 (on page 1734):Microsoft SQL Server Spatial Reader: An internal error has occurred. Please visit http://www.safe.com/supportMicrosoft SQL Server Spatial Reader: Failed to parse datetime, attribute set as nullWhat gives ? Should I be concerned ?I've occasionally encountered huge log files before, but haven't had any idea why. Next time I'll see if it's the same issue.The job took several minutes (as opposed to normally a handful of seconds) to finish, which is not good.Cheers.

FME(R) 2021.1.0.0 (20210630 - Build 21607 - WIN64) I run 3 readers all with sql statements, the output writes to Oracle in 1 table. Ik never had problems (fme 2020) but with version 2021 I get an error : 2021-07-27 11:33:03| 142.5| 0.0|FATAL |An error occurred. Versioned geodatabase edit session writes 'successful', but not all are written

Hi,I am using:FME2021.1 32-bitArcSDE Geodb writer, truncating the SQL Server table in 10.x geodatabaseVersioned Edit Session to feature class that is registered as versionedFME log claims success and that all writes were saved. No errors, warnings or anything indicating an issue in the log at all. The problem:Only even 1000 are written. For example, 9454 features result in that FME log displays all written successfully, but only 9000 features exist in the geodatabase. If i use cloner and increase the feature count to even 10 000 all features are saved. Any suggestions?

I have workspace that's using Creator, Workspace Runner and Emailer to run a parent workspace. I would like to attach the log file to both the Successful and Failure emails?
