Hi,I have several workbenches which read an FGDB, do a little transforming and renaming, then insert the data in several Oracle tables (one table per fetaureclass, 15 in total). Before the data is written, the tables must be emptied. The trick is that the user is not allowed the privilege to use truncate (if you give an Oracle user the privilege to truncate, that user can also drop tables - which is not allowed). I have a procedure which allows me to truncate, using a different user, but it looks like I would need to call that procedure 15 times in the "SQL statementto execute before translation", instead of adding it to the format parameters of every featureclass. Is that correct? Not really what I was hoping for, but if it needs to be done it needs to be done :-)

My current employer is converting from using Microstation to AutoCAD and I was wondering if anybody can give me some advice.  I'm looking at many DGN files to convert to DWG and i'm concerned all the cell's in Microstation will get dropped in the process.  I'm not sure how the conversion process will convert the cells data into blocks?  Are their certain library's in AutoCAD that need to be prebuilt?  Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Hello! I have a very large kml (~100MB) published by Land Information New Zealand with thousands of tracks included in it. What I am looking to do, is to break that up into individual kml or gpx files. Is this something FME can do?

The danish social security number are build up like (ddmmyy-xxxx) where xxxx is a unique code. I have a dataset from a xlsx-file, where the danish social security number are like (ddmmyyxxxx) AND if the date startes wtih 01, 02 ect, then it cut the zero of. I need to make FME read the xlsx-file and change the danish social security number to this format (010180-1234) and write it to my PostGIS-DB.I hope someone can help me with that.Best regards, Jacob ArpeKalundborg Municipalty

I couldn't find an answer in the help, so I'll ask here:I'm using a WorkspaceRunner to call a sub-project. And now I'd like to all save the project as .fme files before handing it on. But how does it work with WorkspaceRunner and .fme files? When configuring the WorkspaceRunner, it seems to be ok with a linked .fme file, but the parameters are not displayed in order to configure them. Is there a way to call and configure .fme projects within WorkspaceRunner? Or do I have to stick with .fmw for the sup-project?

I have been testing out the featurewriter transformer to handle data updates, however I have noticed that it is much slower than the equivalent standalone writer. For example, I am trying to write 80000 records to a SQL Server Spatial database table using the featurewriter. This task takes just over a minute (1:27) with the SQL Server Spatial Writer and over 10 minutes with the featurewriter transformer. The parameters are identical with the exception of those that you are not able to set with the transformer (bulk insert, tranaction interval, timeout, etc.). Is this just a flaw of the featurewriter or are there ways to improve the performance of this transformer that I have not implemented?Thanks

I am writing to about 100 feature classes through an SDE writer and about 5 feature classes return the error:The error number from ArcObjects is: '-2147216072'. The error message from ArcObjects is: {Underlying DBMS error [ORA-24816: Expanded non LONG bind data supplied after actual LONG or LOB column]}Looking on Oracle websites hasn't resulted in a solution: I hope someone here has a suggestion how to solve this.

Hi all, i am creating a summary report of a larger workspace output in excel. I use 3 stats calculators and a sampler to output what i want to excel. Currently the outputs are going to individual sheets in my output xls file. I would like them on one sheet. Can this be achieved? I have tried the "named ranges", "starting columns" etc etc. When i try and name my "Sheet Name" on the writer the same as another is appends 00 to it because it clashes? Any help appreciated or is this not possible ? Thanks Steve

I have a GDB with a road in it (themes are: road signs, traffic lights etc.). I have new measurements from the road in Shape (containing existing and new features). I have two GDB writers per theme: one to update the existing features, one to insert the new. The readers point to the same file and the writers point to the same copy of it.After a while the Writers become '<not set>' in the Navigator pane:Along with some translation warnings:Geodatabase Error (-2147024894): The system cannot find the file specified.Could not open File Geodatabase dataset `D:\\Data\\N207\\EXPORT_BUDATA_20160202_164111.gdb' for readingThe issue is resoved when the writer is deleted and loaded again but after a while the issue returns.FME version is 2016.1, 32 bit.@nielsgerrits

I have an excel file of points which are resurveyed with updated Coordinates.Now i want to update my existing arcsde geodatabase. How can i update only coordinates in FME.

There seems to be only 2 posts on here about writing to PostgreSQL bytea, and in both cases, @NatalieAtSafe has said there's a known performance issue. How about for reading? Hello FME community!Please lend me a hand in solving this. I've tried to explain (in pictures) best I can what I want to achieve. Have not been able to find any information or example of how to write CityGML files like this in FME.These pictures describe 1 building. First picture is the surface_geometry table (I know, building geometry should reference their geometry using xlink_href but haven't gotten that far yet) This data is read from a CityGML database. The second picture describes how the CityGML files looks when exported from the database exporter. I want to build the same CityGML file within FME and later use FME to upload CityGML into the database. If I aggregate the geometry before I write, I loose the UUID and thehierarchy. If I don't, what should be 1 building is 22 buildings. Both the root and the composite doesn't have any geometry. Any help would be greatly appreciated, I've been struggling with this thing for some time.

I have tried to convert a shapefile to LandXML, but It doesnt work! My source file is a shapefile type and it has a lot of lines with elevation. I would like to write a LandXML, how can I do that?

So I've played around with FME's for some weeks now, and I really do like it. But what I've discovered is that when one make the dem into a Minecraft world, the coastlines, islands (Little height and close to the sea) in 90% of the cases seem to disappear.Here's a picture of an island from a Dem that I usehttp://i.imgur.com/0doJNYY.pngHere it is afterwards:http://i.imgur.com/JFaICXk.pngI think the cause may be scaling, is it possible to scale the z-range of mountains that are over 255 blocks high and preserve the rest below it? I read an excel file. I extract the value of each cells and put it in my database via a writer. But sometimes, there is no value in the cell. So I have another excel file to map each cell with a default value. But I cannot manage to actually map it.Is there a transformer for doing it?Or Do I have to extract the data from the second xls file into a dictionnary in my workspace to use it?Thanks.

( GDB to GDB )I would like read the features LINE_A and copy their geometry and attributes and insert those into LINE_B feature class, then run it through my transformers before writing. Is there a way to do this? ExampleLINE_A has 2 features. Before my workspace is ran I would like to take those 2 features and insert them into the LINE_B feature class with any attributes that match the schema of both features, then run the workspace with those new features added.So I'm keeping the 2 instances of LINE_A and just copying them into LINE_B feature class... then running those 2 new features through the workspace.I looked into the workspace runner, but wasn't quite sure.

For conversioni am using the Xml reader where in i have used feature path settings and one of the tag's from my Xml's and i have enable the flattening. it reading my Xml's but i am unable to extract the information from Xml's tags. Hello,I am running a parent workspace on FME Server which calls child workspaces with the FMEServerJobSubmitter transformer. From the log, the translation has errors when trying to connect to a SQL Server Non-Spatial reader in one of the child workspaces. When I run this child workspace individually from the desktop or FME Server, it works fine (no errors). The only problem is when I run it from within the parent workspace on the Server. The parent workspace also ran fine on the desktop. What could be causing this problem? I have seen that this is a common error message (https://knowledge.safe.com/articles/281/failed-to-connect-using-sql-server-2012-native-cli.html), but my connection to SQL Server is fine when I run the child workspace individually.
