Hello FME community! Please lend me a hand in solving this. I've tried to explain (in pictures) best I can what I want to achieve. Have not been able to find any information or example of how to write CityGML files like this in FME.These pictures describe 1 building. First picture is the surface_geometry table (I know, building geometry should reference their geometry using xlink_href but haven't gotten that far yet) This data is read from a CityGML database. The second picture describes how the CityGML files looks when exported from the database exporter. I want to build the same CityGML file within FME and later use FME to upload CityGML into the database. If I aggregate the geometry before I write, I loose the UUID and thehierarchy. If I don't, what should be 1 building is 22 buildings. Both the root and the composite doesn't have any geometry. Any help would be greatly appreciated, I've been struggling with this thing for some time.
Hello All,This applies to FME 2013 Oracle Edition (2013 - Build 13263 - WIN 32). One of the scripts we run intermittently fails. This happens when reading an excel fileTrying to find a DYNAMIC plugin for reader named `XLS_ADO' Loaded module 'XLS_ADO' from file 'D:\\Program Files (x86)\\FME\\plugins/FME_ADO.dll' FME API version of module 'XLS_ADO' matches current internal version (3.7 20121025) MS Excel Reader: Read 1 DEF line(s). I have tried to convert a shapefile to LandXML, but It doesnt work! My source file is a shapefile type and it has a lot of lines with elevation. I would like to write a LandXML, how can I do that?
So I've played around with FME's for some weeks now, and I really do like it. But what I've discovered is that when one make the dem into a Minecraft world, the coastlines, islands (Little height and close to the sea) in 90% of the cases seem to disappear. Here's a picture of an island from a Dem that I usehttp://i.imgur.com/0doJNYY.pngHere it is afterwards:http://i.imgur.com/JFaICXk.pngI think the cause may be scaling, is it possible to scale the z-range of mountains that are over 255 blocks high and preserve the rest below it? (perhaps not the best idea)
I read an excel file. I extract the value of each cells and put it in my database via a writer. But sometimes, there is no value in the cell. So I have another excel file to map each cell with a default value. But I cannot manage to actually map it.Is there a transformer for doing it?Or Do I have to extract the data from the second xls file into a dictionnary in my workspace to use it?Thanks.
( GDB to GDB )I would like read the features LINE_A and copy their geometry and attributes and insert those into LINE_B feature class, then run it through my transformers before writing. Is there a way to do this? ExampleLINE_A has 2 features. Before my workspace is ran I would like to take those 2 features and insert them into the LINE_B feature class with any attributes that match the schema of both features, then run the workspace with those new features added. So I'm keeping the 2 instances of LINE_A and just copying them into LINE_B feature class... then running those 2 new features through the workspace.I looked into the workspace runner, but wasn't quite sure.

Hello,I am running a parent workspace on FME Server which calls child workspaces with the FMEServerJobSubmitter transformer. From the log, the translation has errors when trying to connect to a SQL Server Non-Spatial reader in one of the child workspaces. When I run this child workspace individually from the desktop or FME Server, it works fine (no errors). The only problem is when I run it from within the parent workspace on the Server. The parent workspace also ran fine on the desktop. What could be causing this problem? I have seen that this is a common error message (https://knowledge.safe.com/articles/281/failed-to-connect-using-sql-server-2012-native-cli.html), but my connection to SQL Server is fine when I run the child workspace individually.
The logfiles for FME-server are put in the following location: ...\\Logs\\engine\\current\\jobs\\Would it be possible to write the logfiles to a database (SQLserver, Postgres) instead.
Is there someway to automatically add an IDENTITY column when writing to SQL Server spatial?I've found MapInfo data inserted into SQL Server spatial is flagged as invalid when I try to load it in QGIS. The solution seems to be to add an integer "id" column, which I set as an IDENTITYI can manually add the ID column after a first run of FME has created table plus columns. Then truncate the SQL table and run the workspace a second time to populate with the actual data and the ID column set by SQL Server. But I've got a lot of MapInfo layers to migrate, so is there a better way to do this in FME?
I use FME to change Esri shapefiles to Netezza Spatial all the time, until last night. It is only writing out a fraction of the rows. I don't understand why. I have tried both a polygon shapefile and a line shapefile. The shapefiles are fairly small -- 20-4,000 features with only 2-15 attributes.
FME says I need to scale it down however no matter how much I scale it the z value is always negative. I also have the exact same area as an excel file that I can use for converting. would this be any easier?
I have a road network with 1 attribute field (Road Name). There are duplicate values (road names) in this list (either same road name exists in two or more different towns OR the road is in multiple segments with the same attribute value). How can I split these duplicate road names out so I can process separately?I've tried Attribute Validator (unique) and Duplicate Filter but as you probably know, these transformers only split the second, third, fourth etc occurrences of a duplicate value, leaving the first occurrence in the "unique" (Duplicate Filter) or "passed" (Attrribute Validator) output.I also tried a tester after the Duplicate filter, ie, renamed Duplicate output attribute to DUPE and tested to see where Unique output was not equal to DUPE to leave me with a true unique set of road name attributes. All failed.Any help appreciated.
I am trying to connect to the following WFS link to obtain the data but can not get anythingThe link is http://environment.data.gov.uk/ds/wfs?SERVICE=WFS&INTERFACE;=ENVIRONMENTWFS--86ec354f-d465-11e4-b09e-f0def148f590&VERSION;=2.0.0Any ideas what is wrong??
Hi people, first of all sorry for my bad English. Is there any function who helps me to fulfill the empty spaces with the color around it? There must not be any blank space in it. how should I do it? Thanks
Hello,I am converting Microstation DGN (V8) to AutoCAD Map DWG (2010) file, reading DGN file as group by Schema - Level NamesIssue is OD that is created also has some Tag/DGN internals as attribute.e.g.CONTRACT_NO, CONTRACT_NO_name, CONTRACT_NO_prompt, CONTRACT_tagset_name, CONTRACT_NO_tagtype, CONTRACT_NO_value, igds_color etc.In above list only CONTRACT_NO should be created as OD attribute rest is not required, How do I restrict it not to write these Tag internals.I have used Attribute remover, bulk attribute remover , schema from Table but it has no effect on how the OD is created.FME Vversion = 2016.1RegardsZubair
I convert shape files to autocad.....have given the different shape files an certain color index and write that index in the autocad_color attribute. But the default_color which is given in the Format parameter in the output autocad file is e.g. red and every layer is shown with red color in the layer table....the laye ritself has the right color (given by me)...how can i change that default_color? I want that every layer has the right color also in the layer list Thanks and greetz Franco
Hi thereWhen I try to translate some TAB files to shape files in FME, I keep getting the errors:ERROR 3: InitBlockFromData(): Invalid Block Type: got 0 expected 2 ERROR 5: GetNextFeatureId() failed: unable to set read pointer to feature id 1GetNextFeatureId() failed: unable to set read pointer to feature id 1 Closing native MapInfo readerFailed reading feature from MapInfo fileCould anyone please tell me what this means?
Why is FME imported data into SQL Server not being found by QGIS? I've imported some MapInfo format data into SQL Server 2014 using FME. In SQL Management Studio (SSMS), I can do a query and the spatial results tab shows the various polygons as expected But if I switch to QGIS and connect to the database, but the data set isn't showing I have also loaded data using ogr2ogr and those data sets are showing, and can be displayed on a map in both QGIS and SSMS So why aren't FME loaded data sets showing?
Hey guys I'm converting an Esri Personal Geodatabase (.mdb) file into an Esri Geodatabase (.gdb)file. I need to include a new column in the new .gdb populated with data from another table. The column will be populated according to keywords within one of the columns in the original table and one way I have figured to do this is to run SQL Executor however, it doesn't look like SQL supports .mdb files. Is there any other way to do this or how can I work around SQL? I know this is a bit of a confusing or vague question but I'm very new to the world of FME and SQL
How do I view a seed file in Data Inspector to check the igds_textstyle_id?
I'm building a QA data validation tool and the first step in the process if the data aligns within the extent of the state of Alabama and more importantly in the rightful location. How do I determine this considering that the DGN files may have different coordinate references, ie. local coordinate, grid, state plane, etc.
I've tried searching for this ArcObjects error and couldn't find this issue. My FME workspace works fine on Workbench but I'm having problems with it on FME Server. When I run it on the server it fails and I get this message:Could not create the File Geodatabase '~'. A possible reason is that you may not have permission to create the Geodatabase. The error number from ArcObjects is: '-2147467259'. The error message from ArcObjects is: {}What does this mean? I couldn't find this in Esri's list of error codes.
I am using the Esri Geodatabase (ArcSDE Geodb) writer in FME Desktop 2015 to write to an Oracle Esri geodatabase. However, when I put the workspace into FME Server I get the message: ERROR 0.0 1.7 2016-06-28 12:42:21 Unable to perform licensing related tasks. Please ensure that ArcGIS is correctly installed Is there another geodatabase writer that I can use for this task, or do I need to install ArcMap on the FME Server? Thanks
