Patching our backend oracle database should the FME server be stopped while the update occurs?
FME Form 2023.2 installed produce always a memory Error at startup : "The instruction at 0x00007FFC9A16C1D0 referenced memory at 0xFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF. The memory could not be read."Click OK to terminate the program. The environnement is VMWARE Windows Server 2019 Datacenter, 16GB RAM, 4 CPU. This same machine runs FME 2020.1 32bits and 64bits with no issues.I have désinstalled ,reboot, reinstalled the FME product , same issue. If this is a know issue , is there a configuration to change ? How to troubleshoot ? Thanks
Perhaps just of curiosity, I would like to know what all the lines in the safe.lic license file actually mean. Not an answer like "they are needed" but more information why they are needed and what they correspond to. FEATURE FME (this might be the main license)FEATURE FME_GUIFEATURE nationalFEATURE basic_rasterFEATURE segy_readingFEATURE segy_writingFEATURE smallworld (this is the license level)FEATURE fmeobjects_reprojectFEATURE ssis_extensionFEATURE spatialbiz I've heard during my years as a FME expert that some of these lines correspond to "old licensing levels" or similar but now with FME Form, is that really true?
On the documentation website for FME Form, there is a section called "Installing FME Form from the Windows Command Prompt". However, I cannot find any documentation for uninstalling FME Form from the command prompt. Is there any way to do this, so that we can package the uninstall + install for updated processes? Thanks a lot.
I am trying to install FME Flow 20.23.1 on a local MS Windows 2022 Server. I am using / trying to use the silent installer. The command that runs successfully is shown below. The install.logs shows no errors and end with message: "Installation completed successfully" I have an external Tomcat instance btw. I can successfully start the FME Server by using the bat file startCore.bat. After I use this bat file, I can go to http://localhost:8080/fmeserver/ and I can login with admin / admin. Everything looks fine. When I try to start FME Server using the MS Window service created by the installer, it fails with message Error 126: The specified module could not be found I think the service fails fairly quickly in the sense that no real FME processes are started and there is nothing in the log files. It this is a known issue with running FME Flow on MS Windows 2022 server? I checked the documentation but there doesn't seem to be specific requirements mentioned for running FM
Hello there, I looked into FME system parameters and Python APIs to find a programmable way to identify release info, such as 2023.2.1, etc., in an FME Form session, to no avail. I would appreciate you sharing your approaches. Bo
QUESTION: Is there anyway to adjust the login timeout for MS SQL connections? Periodically, I've been logging an error from the SQLExecutor transformer which appears to be related to timeout issues when connecting to a MS SQL database. The error below seems to occur at random and is hard to replicate on demand. 'Provider error (-247467259) Unable to complete login process due to delay in opening server connection' I suspect that the connection, periodically, is talking longer then the timeout configured in FME. I know of the 'Command Timeout' parameter but as I understand it this is only applicable to the query length timeout, not the login connection timeout
Buenos días, tengo instalado FME en un equipo que va muy lento, ¿Podría desinstalarlo de este equipo lento e instalarlo en otro que acabo de comprar mucho más potente?
When i start the program FME Workbench version 2021.1.2 and 2021.2.6, the system start up as expected. But when i try to start FME Workbench 2022.2.2, 2022.2.4, 2022.2.5 or FME Form 2023.0 the start window appears. We have upgraded to FME FLOW 2023.1. Now the workbenches that write or read to to our SQL Server Spatial - SDE MS SQL Server 2012 fail. It looks like an SSL certificate error. May I ask what is the default password for fmeserver database?
Dear FME community, We would like to have redunancy in our FME Form licencing using Flexlm. We have x number of licenses that should not be divided over n servers, but the same licenses need to be configured on all servers, master and backup. In case of crash of the master server the backup machines need to automatically take over. Only thing I could find was: https://community.safe.com/s/bridea/a0r4Q00000HbqijQAB/configure-a-backup-or-failover-license-manager The answer of Rylan doesn't specify if his suggested method is for load-balancing or/and a backup-license manager. The flexlm guide online states:"The following is an example of a license file that is configured for three-server redundancy. SERVER pat 17003456 2837 PRIMARY_IS_MASTER SERVER lee 17004355 2837 SERVER terry 17007ea8 2837 VENDOR demo FEATURE f1 demo 1.0 1-jan-2018 10 SIGN=”<...>” FEATURE f2 demo 1.0 1-jan-2018 10 SIGN=”<...>”" The license-file should be the same on the master and all the redu
If I install FME engine on seprate machine to connect FME flow core host (with default Flow database installed on same), does the trial FME flow standard license work on distributed architecture? Is ther any specific license required to configure distributed engine setup not the trial one?
If I reinstall FME flow software, can same license file be used again even this is a trial flow license? According to the licesne request file machine code is generating diffrent value. Do I need to request new trial license file if reinstallation is in place? Is it applicable for permanent license also in case of any reinstallation is needed? Please advise.
Hi community! I installed FME Flow 2023.1.1.1 on Ubuntu 22.04 with installer [1]. I choosesetup type "Distributed / Fault Tolerant" to use an existing Postgres instanceaccording to [2]. I then set up the Postgres database according to [3].I also changed proxyPort in /opt/fmeflow/Utilities/tomcat/conf/server.xmlto the correct port number. Then installed, enabled, and started the systemdunits according to [4]. Everything worked at this point and I could log in as admin and change thepassword as required. I could also log out and log in as admin. I thencreated a new admin user. When I logged out and try to log in as the new userthe landing page was stuck in an infinite refresh loop. I also deleted allcookies which did not have any effect on the constant reloading. The URL is https://view-db.vinci-energies.de/fmeserver/. I uninstalled FME Flow, dropped the fmeserver database, and installed FME Flowagain as before. Now the landing page doesn't even prompt for the admin loginan
I am having difficulty attaching the Host Info Text File. Please advise how it can be submitted. Thanks in advance for your assistance.
I will be receiving a number of datasets that I need to run through the same process. I would like to figure out how I can set up the workbench to be able to put through several datasets at once time. There will be the same 4 inputs that need to be run through the FME workflow I have set up to output 3 files.I'm looking at working with something like this:If anyone has an example I could maybe take a look at to help set this up or have any tips/advice for doing this, it would be much appreciated! Many thanks in advance!
We are currently running FME desktop 2020 with a floating license server (2020). If we upgrade our license server with a 2022 floating license will the 2020 FME desktop installs still be compatible until we finish testing and upgrading?
Both the nodes sharing the same FME Flow System Share and FME Flow Database (postgres sql DB) which are on a shared network drive. The two express installs have independent URLs. So, in this scenario, there is no real fault tolerance from load balancer but if one node fails, the FME clients can change the URL to point to the second node's URL
Is there a way of doing parallel processing on multiple CPU cores inside a PythonCaller? I don't want to use a custom transformer for that because I cannot easily group my features using the group processing option. I have already tried the concurrent.futures.ProcessPoolExecutor but it fails in FME. The code works fine outside of FME but in a PythonCaller it raises a PicklingError.
Hi, I have an issue with import numpy in Python Startup Script in FME Workspace in FME Flow: FME Flow 2023.0.1 uild 23332 - win64 I guess that numpy package is already installed in FME Flow (and Form). In FME Form there is no issue but when I publish workspace on FME Flow I get: Python Exception <ImportError>: IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ THIS FOR ADVICE ON HOW TO SOLVE THIS ISSUE!Importing the numpy C-extensions failed. This error can happen formany reasons, often due to issues with your setup or how NumPy wasinstalled. We have compiled some common reasons and troubleshooting tips at: https://numpy.org/devdocs/user/troubleshooting-importerror.html Please note and check the following: * The Python version is: Python3.11 from "C:\\Program Files\\FMEFlow\\Server\\fme\\FMEEngine.exe"* The NumPy version is: "1.24.2"and make sure that they are the versions you expect. Please carefully study the documentation linked above for further help.Original error was: DLL load failed
Hi everybody,Is it possible to fix the maximum file size in output ?I want to convert LAS data in DWG, but DWG in output is too large. Instead of one large file of 2 GB, I would like multiple files of 200 Mo (for example). Tnak you in advance 🙂
Hello, I'm using FME to read IFC files and I would like to know if it is possible to get GeometryPropertyExtractor (to get traits) by calling the FME API into PythonCaller ? Thank in advance Best regards Bruno Hilaire
Installing ArcGIS Web adaptor IIS broke the Tomcat Web UI to FME server. Checked the Tomcat xml files to enable SSL 443 and SAML. All the config seems to be in place. "Unfortunately a backup or snapshot of the VM was not taken ahead of time." Anyone know how to get the UI back running? Pretty dumb mistake so there is not much dialog. But I have gone through setting up SSL with CA Cert and SAML.
