Using transformers to modify data.

The ultimate goal here is to orient overlapping lines in the same direction so that later offsets will come out neat. The lines have been processed in multiple steps and when I apply a OrientationExtractor it says: no_orientation. Is there another way to get the orientation, other than the Topologybuilder which is quite slow and requires a few extra calculations? Also is the Orientor the only way to rewrite orientations to a line, or is it possible to copy it somehow with something like a FeatureMerger?
We can't seem to get it to work using any of the available transformers, nor any of the help we've searched for online. We just end up with either the data in the output table staying the same, or an error in the transformation. We are using a standard file GDB in ArcMap with a FC containing about 10 million records, and we want to replace about 200,000 of those records with updated info that is located in another FC in the GDB (based on a common field (county)). Is there a way to do this??
Hi Guys, any ideas of how to solve this please (I'm a novice so take it easy please, I have a workbench that has 2 readers and 2 writers, the first part of the process reads and SDE featureclass , manipulates some attributes and writes to another SDE Featureclass - it has a run before and a run after sql for dropping indexes and constraints and recreating indexes and constraints and running a stored procedure. The second part of the process reads the updated featureclass and filters by query like value=1 then writes to a csv file. This all works however the second part does not select the correct number of records - its 6 records short. Its possible due to the before and after sql scripts taking a while to finish and commit. _ I can brake this into 2 workbenches and its all perfect but I'd like to keep them together - is it possible? Thanks Paulg
I want to do some transformation on a schema/datamodel of a GDB and write it into a new GDB (which should be basically the same schema with these adaptions). But i do not get any output if i use Format: schema (any) and feature reader. Does anyone has some ideas for me? I´m a newbee using FME.
I'm using FME 2021 to convert Environment Agency 2m DTM data into either shapefile or mapinfo tab, primarily for consumption in InfoWorks. I've used the RasterToPolygonCoercer to produce shapefiles but my users cannot import them in Infoworks. They receive the attached error. Not sure if its because I'm using a TIFF reader rather than GeoTIFF? The original files look like this: Any help appreciated - new to this aspect of FME!
Hi! I'm validating geometry of the CityGML files and I want to find out the errors and the smallest corresponding parts of the same feature for visualization purposes. According to the GeometryValidator documentation, features from the InvalidParts output port should contain attributes explaining what issue the smallest part(s) correspond to. With the help of the ListExplorer transformer I can get the error name (i.e. issue_found), but not the details. So the question is, how can I access the details attributes from the InvalidParts output port? That is very relevant because usually error name does not contain all needed information (e.g. what is the subtype of error). Of course, I could get the error details easily from IssueLocations output port, but then I get only point features instead of surfaces or solids. Is there any solution for this or am I understanding something wrong? Thank you!
I have a citygml file with detailed solid models and surfaces. I'm looking for a Workspace to convert to 3d SHP in separate layers, can anyone help?
Hi all. I ran multiple spatial filters to identify intersects between two layers, and now have around 70 attributes (custom named to the name of the layer, rather than the default name), that contain either INTERSECTS or Null. I want to now replace all INTERSECTS with the name of the attribute, using String Replacer or the like. What is the best way to do this? I have attached an example screenshot below of what I have vs. what I want to do. Thanks!
Hi, I want to extrude my cad data using point cloud. (airborne LiDAR)When you look adding pictures there is 2 shapes. I drawed that in Microstation programme. I want to do:1) The light blue one will extrude from the ground. I mean ground class (orange that) of airborne lidar.2) The dark blue one will extrude to up .Minumum elevation of the building (red dots) class in airborne lidar. The note that my light and dark blue shapes are the same elevation. My last product should be pic "3Dd1".
Hi,The KAFKAConnector works fine und provides me features with a filename "key"and the file itself "value". In my case "value" holds a zip-file with Shape-Layers. How can I access the features in the zip-Files? The content of "value" starts e.g.:"504B0304140008080800117242540000000000000000000000000C00000036313231396E67722E646266A4BD49AEB5C9921C5622454D04021A68016F2EBC83E89B2121160942608352092047DA8776A389D629B3F81AF76391F578322A1F2A2BF2FEFFBDD74F34DE9A9BFFCBFFE75FFC8B7FF53FFEDDDFFDBFFFC3FFF777DB3FFFCBDFFDDDBFF987BFFF37F77FFD3BFEEB7FFD57DF7FE5BFFCFD3FFC87FFF8F7FFF8F7FFF04FFCF9BFFF87FFEB3FFDDBFF7B2DFF13FFF53.... I think, I have to write this somehow to the filesystem. Maybe using the FeatureWriter Format: DATAFILE And then use the FeatureReader. Any Ideas? regardsHerfried
Hello there the data we have looked like this as a sample as you can see each end value of the r-name is the start of the next feature the goal is to group them based on this relationshipend result should look Thanks

Hi, I have a non-spatial SQL dataset containing a unique identifier along with 2 sets of coordinates (start x and y, end x and y). I am using 2 vertex creators to spatially enable the data and then want to draw lines between the coordinates, separated by each unique identifier. However, using the LineBuilder the output is only coming out of the Point port and nothing is coming out of the Line output port. The workspace worked previously using Desktop 2018, the only difference now is I am using 2020 with updated SQL data, though the data type is unchanged.
How to get ArcGIS Explorer .markup files to shapefile/feature class format?
In an Interlis Model provided by the state, I have to write two geometries per feature to Interlis2. Using this FME article (Writing to Database Tables that contain Multiple Geometry Columns) I was able to read the multiple geometries from Oracle. In the database I have a view with both geometries (point and additional polygon). The linked article only provides information for writing multiple geometries to databases. In the Interlis-Writer (ili2fme) I don't have any settings for treating features with multiple geometries. Is it even possible? The interlis model needs the "primary" geometry (point) to be written as standard geometry, while the secondary geometry (polygon) should be written into a specifiy attribute "Detailgeometrie". How can I tell FME to write the secondary geometry to a specific attribute? Attached is the interlis-model (ili) provided by state. The class with multiple geometries is "InfrastrukturKnoten" with its optional attribute &quo
I'm trying to read a .json file into a single feature attribute. So far all my attempts to read the json has led to it being flattened, with all json 'keys' showing up as an attribute. The reason I want to have it in one attribute is that the jsons in question are service definition for ArcGIS Online content. Essentially it gets converted into a python dictionary using json.loads(feature.getAttribute(...)). One workaround I've thought of is just changing the extension of the json to .txt and reading that instead. However, I would prefer to do it a neater way, if there is one. Any suggestions?
This is what I'm trying to remove is this block: <Remarks> "xxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx" : 2022-01-24T08:23:34 "xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx (<span class="xxxxxxxx">xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx</span>)Suffix: T (<span class="xxxxxxxx">xxxxxxxxxxxx</span>)xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
---- xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx---- xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
" : 2022-01-24T08:23:39 "<s
Hello, I am missing something basic here I think. I am trying to use a road centerline and boundary (polygon) information to assign the boundary data to the road centerline with LEFT/RIGHT indicated which is associated to the digitized direction of the line. I have tried the LeftRightSpatialCalculator but that seems to only give me the polygons as an output as opposed to the centerline being tagged with the LEFT and RIGHT polygon that falls on either side of the line. I tried working with the list but I couldn't get it joined back to the line. For point of reference. ArcGIS has an advanced tool titled 'Identity' that, when used with lines and polygons, can add the data or just the Id of the polygon on to the line segment based on whether the polygon is to the LEFT or the RIGHT of the digitized direction of line. Could I possibly use a tool related to the topology to derive this information? I tried looking for the result but only found those items related to LeftRightSpatia
I have a workspace that reads a geodatabase polygons and writes areas to a dwg file. In between I use a DWGStyler to add a hatch fill pattern to an area. But when I want to add a hatch fill pattern, I see only the standard hatch options. Where are my custom hatch fill patterns from my template fill? I have received also the .pat files of the custom hatch patterns. But how do I use those in my workspace? I installed autocad to meet the environment specifications. I placed my custom .pat files in every possible folder that can be used by autocad and fme. But no extra hatch patterns in my fill pattern name window of FME. But in Autocad they will pop-up next to the standard hatches. Is there a specific folder where I have to place my .pat files.?Can FME read custom hatches from a template dwg? Who can help me? Freek FME(R) 2020.0.1.0 (20200407 - Build 20218 - WIN64)I'm writing to dwg not REALdwg. If that is a part of the solution I will try.
hi,using FME 2020.1.0.1, I find that occasionally the RasterDEMGenerator crashes when trying to rasterize a TIN. I have isolated some of the triangles (see workbench and data in zip file). The crash occurs when using the BreakLines input. Using the "Points/Lines" input is not an option, since the resulting raster has artefacts. Another FME user suggested the PointCloudCombiner as a workaround. This is a very slow option, unfortunately. I hope Safe can assist in fixing or working around the crash in the RasterDemGenerator (using breaklines input). Kind regards, Richard.
I have two scenarios; In Column A, I need everything before a set of string, and in Column B, I need everything after a set of string, by using StringReplacer. Below is an example of what I am trying to do: COUNTY OF PRINCESTONREGION COUNTIES OF LAMBERSON Column A: COUNTYREGION COUNTIES Column B:PRINCESTONLAMBERSON in the StringReplacer, I have the expression ^.*\\ OF for everything before \\ OF ,*$ for everything after Based on a previous forum https://community.safe.com/s/question/0D54Q000080hTpzSAE/how-can-i-remove-everything-after-in-fme-using-string-replacer The result of this is that there are no changes to the strings, as everything before and after the ' OF ' remained in the columns.
If the measure value provided beyond the min and max, it would snip to a point as indicated in the log file: WARN |@Snip (or FMELine::snip) was given Measures of 123625.0508 and 123625.0508, which are out of range for a line with min/max measures of 2.1792075131088495e-6 and 79907.89199766226. I'm looking to generate the Getis-Ord GI* statistic in a workbench hosted on FME Cloud. I believe this can be achieved with an Rcaller, or by calling certain python packages. Is it possible to install R, or non-built-in python packages on an FME Server instance hosted in FME Cloud?
Hi! I have a question that I can't figure it out myself. I have a CityJSON (v1.0.1.) building data set which contain surfaces with type both "RoofSurface", "WallSurface" and"GroundSurface". How can I read or filter my data based on these types? Does FME support this when processing CityJSON, like it does for CityGML? I have tried eg. to extract geometry parts and deaggregate buildings, but none of these helped. Thank you a lot!
I have a user parameter getting a string of comma separated words. I would like to use that as items/arguments to filter whether or not a feature attribute contain one of those words. It would be to be used on about 10,000 features eventually with maybe up to 5 different words I can get the user parameter to a list, and then to an attribute, but I can't find a way to use those to filter my dataset, either using Like, In, or Contains Any idea how this can be done? It's basically to filter whether a path does or not contain some words
