Paged WFS Responses - OS Features

Hi I have a requirement to connect to the new Ordnance Survey (GB) WFS service in FME, their system responds with 100 records at one time, there doesn't appear to be an option in the reader to facilitate this paging implementation as in other products Any help to be able to access this API would be greatly appreciated

Automatic Rotation of 3D Objects

Hello,I have a question on the automatic rotation of 3D objects with FME. First I placed my 3D object on different points with the workflow explained in the following tutorial: https://support.safe.com/hc/en-us/articles/25407425765133-Creating-and-Using-Geometry-Instances. Now I want to rotate the 3D objetcs (electric poles railway) in the direction of a 2D Polyline (rail axis). Is there a possibility to rotate the 3D poles rectangular to the rail axis? Strange error on MacOs when trying to run workbench

Hello, Im using FME form on macSilicon and ran into an error trying to run simple workspaces: /Library/FME/2024.1/fme is trying to execute itself. Aborting to avoid infinite loop. I managed to solve it temporarily by reinstalling the whole package, but after a while it started giving me the same error.Ive tried different workspaces from the tutorials with the same result, I imagine is something about the setup. Any suggestions can help, thanks!

Python Caller MinMax Problem

I am using a python Caller to determine if a value is in a range of two other values which are read from a csv file.For Example: Is SearchValue LMH_HNR_Z in the range of value PTOa and value PTOb? If yes, set the variable Fall = B3, if not set it to B3f.LMH_HNR_Z = 5, PTOa = 1, PTOb = 10 should return: Fall=3B, LMH_HNR_Z = 11, PTOa=1, PTOb=10 should return: Fall=3Bf The Code in this picture is part of a bigger function where I discovered the problem but I narrowed the problematic part down to this. The row where the problem happens is this:if (min(PTOa, PTOb) <= LMH_HNR_Z <= max(PTOa, PTOb)):What happens is, that this request randomly returns false even if the search value LMH_HNR_Z is in the range of PTOa and PTOb. The output of some tested values and ranges is also visible in the lower part of this post. I can’t really see a pattern there, maybe one of you?Is someone aware of a bug that causes this behavior? I have a list of Attributees{}.name That contains attributes for each feature. the element count is variable.I am also using the ListElementExtractor and like how it works but i need from 15-258 attributes to put the list into.is there a way to get the list values out as attributes? or at the very least mmake the list populate (i.e. attr1, attr2, - attr258) in the destination attributes? I am reading the schema from a (blank) gdb with coded domains and WAY too many attributes to use AttributeManager. the purpose is to get the attributes with the correct domain and values so a different schema can be fed into this format and output as gdb with domains intact.

Esri Geodatabase (ArcSDE Geodb) Writer Parameters for updating metadata

Hi,I have seen a few articles about updating metadata using the ArcSDE writers, which involve writing data and adding metadata simultaneously. However, what I want to do is just add new metadata while leaving the existing data unchanged (without accidentally overwriting it with nothing). I already have my metadata and types formatted as described in the articles I’ve read.xml formatted for esri importHowever, I am struggling to determine the exact settings needed for the writer. Since we don’t have a test system, I want to ensure I’m on the right track before proceeding. That said, I can create some test tables to trial the process. File GDB writer not outputting features

Hi Everyone, I am working on a project for school and am reading in CAD data and outputting it as GIS data. However, the File Geodatabase writer is not outputting any features. I am setting it up how I’ve always done it in the past, but it is not creating the GDB where specified as the translation log says no features are being written. I have no clue on why this is happening nor how to fix it, so any help would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.

I’m trying to update FME Flow from version 2023.1 to 2024.2. Upgrading In Place, On the Same Machine.I want to use the encryption key from the previous FME Flow installation so I could restore the previous configuration in the new installation. How to format DROP INDEX on GDB in Writer?

Hi all,This is driving me crazy trying to figure out. I have a GDB writer that builds an attribute index after write.CREATE INDEX <name_INDEX> ON <table_name> (<attribute_name>)Unbeknownst to me, each time I updated the data, an additional index was being created instead of overwritten which led to a bloated GDB and blown out write times. Note: The GDB table handling is set to truncate before write.I first went to using the below statement, but I was unsuccessful. ALTER INDEX <name_INDEX> ON <table_name> REBUILDThe next attempts were focussed on dropping the index before write and creating it anew afterwards. My problem is that no matter which format I use, FME errors with ‘An invalid SQL statement was used’. Views on recent FME price changes

I’m not sure if this is the right forum or category (I couldn’t select “general”), but as I’m sure you’re aware, Safe recently changed it’s pricing for FME, which includes annual maintenance pricing. We are a small consultancy business, long term Safe customer (10+ years) and have been FME advocates amongst our customers for many years. We have just received details of pricing for our annual maintenance in 2025 and for FME Form (previously FME Desktop Professional) for us this has increased by approximately 600%.The new maintenance price for FME Form is going to make it a lot more difficult to justify for a small business like ourselves.We were also previously lookng to expand our FME use by purchasing Flow, but the new pricing has also forced us to cancel those plans.We will also find it difficult to recommend FME to our customers, especially smaller ones, as the bar to entry in terms of pricing has been set so high.I have previously raised the issue of pricing with our reseller in th

Issue Geometry Type when using a dynamic GPKG writer

A while back I was informed that I needed to update the feature type name of a GPKG that I created with FME.Instead of generating the complete dataset again, I wanted to use a dynamic reader/writer to update just one of the feature type names, and leave the rest intact. However, upon doing so, I got the feedback from our 'data broker' that the GPKG no longer met the geometry requirement (should be single geometries). When I investigated a bit further, it seems to me that a dynamic GPKG writer assumes multi geometry (in my case multi point), in case the writer is configured to use the Geometry 'From Schema Definition' (fme_point). Ok, I can get my head around that.However, when I then manually set the geometry in the dynamic writer to 'geopackage_point' or 'geopackage_multipoint', the geometry_type_name in the underlying SQLite DB (GPKG is based on this), returns 'GEOMETRY' (I think tied to 'geopackage_geometry'). Slideshow allows to automatically step through selected features. As of now it will only display the current feature. This is quite useful for presentation.What I am looking for is a way to let slideshow run and keep features which were displayed already. Kind of an “Add On” or “Collective” mode. Add the Option to AttributeFilter for a Single Default Output PortNew

The AttributeFilter has four default output ports: <Empty>, <Missing>, <Null>, and <Unfiltered>. It would be nice to have the option of a single output port instead of these four. This is because I don’t need to differentiate between <Empty>, <Missing>, <Null>, and <Unfiltered>. They can all go to <Unfiltered> and the transformer would take up less space in my workbench.

Ability to save FME Desktop configuration fileOpen

I'm frequently asked if it's possible to setup FME Desktop with some default configuration e.g. Proxies, Shared folders, database connection file locations, window layout, transformer versions turned on, number of recent workspaces set to 10 etc... and then save that off as a config file that can be deployed to other installations of FME Desktop in an organisation. Currently the closest option to this is a silent install, or packaging FME, but that's much more of an admin overhead.It feels like with 2019's ability to save presets in Transformers we're going in the right direction, so here's a suggestion along the same theme that will help organisations with more than a couple of installations of FME Desktop.

Feature writer reformat my json attribute

For my process, I use pythonCaller and I have a JSON-type attribute. However, since the setAttribute function doesn’t recognize the JSON type, I have to use json.dumps() to convert the JSON into a string. I then connect a featureWriter to the output of pythonCaller to write the result in JSON format. However, I don’t understand why the featureWriter reformats the JSON on input. Output Raster jpeg2000 with alpha band from Ascii Grid

We have merged Ascii grid and then classified the Raster using “RasterExpressionEvaluator” the Interpretation is set to UINT8 The color values have been assigned defining the interpretation of the palette as RGB24 using an AttributeCreator and then adding the color values to the RasterPaletteAdder. Export in Geotif format is possible. The Tif is transparent between the classified raster cells via the Nodata value.For performance reasons, we want to use a jpeg2000 and control the transparency via an alpha band as the jpeg2000 format does not support nodata values.How can we export the classified raster image in jpeg2000 with an alpha band?Thank you very much for your help in advance.

NOT changing coordinate system of reader identified by keyword `SNOWFLAKE_SPATIAL_1' from `LL-WGS84' to `' -- mapping file setting of `LL-WGS84' overrides coordinate system `' read from file. If you set the coordinate system on the Snowflake Spatial reader to EPSG:4326 the warning changes to. Streamline FME Server SSL ConfigurationGathering Interest

The FME Server documentation provides multi-step instructions for configuring SSL (HTTPS). The steps include: the need to copy certificates to specific locations, running command line tool, & editing config files. The process is prone to issues for a variety of reasons. Often the skills necessary to resolve issues are beyond the typical FME Server administrator and requires the recruitment of IT Staff and possibly support from Safe Support.Is it possible to streamline this configuration?Could it be done as an option during the installation? (HTTP|HTTPS)Could it be done through the Web UI or some wizard after FME Server is installed?Could there be a way to test the configuration and determine where an issue exists?Is it possible to make HTTPS the default?By reducing the human interaction for this type of configuration there would be fewer issues and a better experience for FME Server administrators.HTTPS is becoming a very common configuration tweak after FME Server is installed.

Hi.I built a workspace in 2024.1, that fetches a number of files from a customer Sharepoint site. Identify matching substrings from multiple attributes

Hi everyone,I am trying to match attributes and write the matching part of the substrings into a new attribute. The following table explains it best: 1 2 3 4 match 03.02.06.03.02.01 03.02.06.03.04 03.02.06.03.02.02 03.02.06.04.03.01 03.02.06 03.02.06.03.04.02 03.02.06.03.09.01 03.02.06.03.01.01 03.02.06.03.04.01 03.02.06.03 03.01.04.05 03.01.04 03.01.04 Note that the fields may also be empty and should then be ignored and not all strings are the same lenght. I am also trying to match from the start of the string only. The only idea that came to me so far is to create lists for each attribute using the attribute splitter and then use conditionals to compare each two-digit part seperately, create each sequence and then string them back together. Maybe there is an easier way? Best reagrds.

Align SQLite, Spatialite, Geopackage Writer Table Name.Field Name constraints to specificationsNew

Currently the SQLite, Spatialite and Geopackage Writers (all SQLite based) enforce constraints on table and column names that do not align with the format specifications.For example, all formats allow Upper Case characters, spaces etc. within Table Names and Column Names, with only limitations that have to begin with an alphabetic character and certain SQLite Reserved words cannot be used without enclosing the field name in “”.In order to maintain Schema alignment between Eg. a Data Source, like a Geodatabase, SQL Server etc. that may contain Upper Case characters, spaces etc. then the corresponding SQlite based formats above should, by default, keep the Schema Attribute Names as-is, since similarly there is no requirement in their format specifications to enforce these rules, and most applications consuming the data will interoperate with these naming conventions fine.Enforcement of lower case/removal of spaces should instead be optional as a user set Parameter.
