Hi list. I have a local FME Flow development setup using 2024.2.3 Originally all of its 4 services ran as Local System, but the workspaces need to access files on a file share on another server, and so I tried changing the services (except database) to Local Network Service without much success. Our production servers (2022) do run with an AD account, so I have som experience with this approach. I therefore changed the development Flow to run under my AD account. The interface seems to be working ok, but now whenever I try to run a workspace, it errs with “There was an error submitting the job”. Why is this different ? What am I missing here ? Any insight is appriciated. Cheers

Hello, I am using LineOnLineOverlay to detect intersections within a polyline dataset. I am only interested in intersection points that involve more than one feature, and would therefore like to exclude any intersection points where a feature is intersecting against itself. Using the attached image as an example; I wish to ignore the intersection where line A is intersecting itself, but need to record where lines A and B intersect, and where line C crosses over line B. Hi all, I am trying to modify a workbench and re-upload it to the server (2020.1 to 2020.1) and am getting back an error that: The following readers or writers are included in an enabled service, but are not present in the workspace: [SourceDataset_JSON] Request to xxx returned status code 422. This has only happened since we updated the server from 2020.0 to 2020.1. The workbench takes incoming JSON from a notification service using a topic and subscription and runs it through the workbench and dumps it into an Esri Portal FS. This error is odd because there is only one reader and one writer in the service. If anyone else has seen this problem please let me know. Thanks! -Adrian

Hallo there, I have a big collection of 3D-lines and a big collection of 3D-Triangles/Surfaces that I need to intersect with each other (I only need to know whether there is an intersection not length, position or number of intersections). Performance is somewhat important due to the size of the dataset. I tried extruding the triangles to a short height to get a solid and this works but is super slow. Surely there must be a better/more efficient way to calculate the intersection between a 3D-line and a 3D-triangle? Many thanks in advance.

Hello everyone, I hope you are well, I am new to FME, I have a .dae file (Collada) that refers to a 3D model of a tree. I also have a layer of points with coordinates in shapefile format of an inventory of trees. Is it possible to integrate the 3D geometry of the .dae file in each of the points of my inventory?. to finally export it in a 3D viewable Kml file.

Hello all, I have a FME flow web-app (image 1). I am attempting to get a message to the user in certain circumstances via HTML output (image 2), which displays a message via the browser to the user if certain conditions are met, via redirecting the web-app page, e.g. there is an issue with their edits (image 3) image 1 image 2 image 3, text printed through the browser This works, sort of. but its not good enough for end users, as the page redirects, but is blank and is stuck in a perpetual loading state. Until the user hits the ‘stop refresh’ (X) on their browser, then the message (image 3) appears. My questions are:How can I make this work without the user having to hit the stop refresh button? Will that page redirect stop the rest of the FME process from running/committing changes? Is there a way to link this to a terminator? if I can terminate the process the perpetual refresh may also stop. Hi everyone, I'm working in FME Form (not FME Server), and I would like to capture any error messages that occur during translation and send them via email using the Emailer transformer. I tried using the LogMessageStreamer transformer, but it seems that it doesn't capture error messages — only warnings and general log info. Is there a way to retrieve the error messages (or even the full log) during a translation, and pass them into the Emailer transformer? I'm looking for a solution that works within FME Form. Any ideas or best practices would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance,Isabelle

I think this is a simple one, but for the life of me i cant seem to figure it out. I am running a line on line overlayer and only want to compare 1 feature dataset to another (i.e. i dont want features from the same input dataset to self intersect). Thanks in advance. I am running FME2011.

I am using FME Form 2021. I have a workspace that includes a Directory and File Pathnames Reader and a File/Copy Writer. The workspace moves files from the specified Folder on one server to another Folder on a different server. It moves the files and runs no issues. But, after the files are moved to the destination folder, I need the files in the source folder deleted. Is there a way to do this with the Reader and Writer? Is there a parameter I need to change? (I know I can make a second workspace that has the FileDeleter and delete the files that way, but wondering if I there is another way) Here is a screen capture of the workspace:

Hi,When launching a workbench using mostly SQLExecutors, with long sql statements, I can only see the first few lines for those statements on the Log file, for each SQLExecutor, but not the full SQL statement. Is this something that cannot be modified?I’d like to have all SQL lines that have been through the process. log file workbench Thanks, Juanma

Good morning, I'm trying to write some geodb_point features (cell) to a DGN using Bentley MicroStation Design Writer. The MicroStation cell library must be specified in the writer's parameters. The cells are placed in the DGN, but they appear incorrectly scaled compared to the cells in the cell library. If I refresh the cells in the DGN again from the cell library, they appear correctly scaled again. Unfortunately, I have to perform this step manually for each cell. I've tried adjusting various settings in the writer's advanced parameters. To no avail. Can anyone help me?

Hi everyone, I am new FME user and I will be grateful if i could get some tips what transformers should I use for such an analysis I need to do: I have two addresses’ database (one is reference), both contain addresses (points) and one contains buildings (polygones). i have to compare that dataset: if addresses are on the building or not and if not how distance is betwen address and builiding. If postalcodes are correct; for example if addresses on street x have all the same postalcode. if address is located on correct street and correct town/village.

Hello there, I’m currently working on a workflow for which I need a python package that is not preinstalled with FME. I tried installing the package according to this help page: https://docs.safe.com/fme/html/FME-Form-Documentation/FME-Form/Workbench/Installing-Python-Packages.htm Unfortunately I got a dependency collision with other packages that are already installed.So I tried setting up a virtual environment but FME doesn't seem to support custom venvs. https://community.safe.com/transformers-9/how-to-integrate-a-custom-python-environment-27779 My question is:Without uninstalling or up-/downgrading the already installed python packages,what is the official way to avoid such dependency issues? We need a way to detect/test for Arcs in our Esri SDE database. We manage a large road line segment. The system that uses this data does not accept Arcs, just polylines. Previously, we edited our data in ArcMap, then run a nightly job to check our data in FME. Using the PathSplitter, followed by the GeometryFilter we could then find any Arcs that had been introduced into our data. Now that we are editing our data within ArcGIS Pro, it seems that Arcs show up as an Arc within Pro, but in FME, the segments show up as Lines and are not flagged with the workflow, mentioned above, using PathSplitter and GeometryFilter. How can we filter/test to find the Arcs in our data? UsingFME 2024.1ArcPro 3.2.3ESRI SQL SDE 10.9.1 Example Arc attached in FGDB. Then the Feature is opened in ArcPro, and an edit session is started to ‘Edit Vertices’, we can see that there is a verity that controls the curve of the line.

We have 3 different FME servers, how can we modify the FLOW UI so that you can easily distinguish one server from the other?

Hi all, I’d like to use FME to execute some count SQL functions on SQL server (SDE). I’m having trouble with the syntax of the SQL in FME and I’m not receiving any output from the SQL Executor. SQL I’m running: SELECT COUNT(*)from "SDE".SAMPLE;
