I'm new to FME.I've created a workspace that reads one Microstation V8 (dgn) file, and several shapefiles. It reads all features from the .dgn as well as all features from the shapefiles and outputs them into two new .dgn files. The first output file contains all features read, while the second one only contains the features from the shapefiles and not the features from the .dgn.Now, I actually need this to run on a whole bunch of datasets, so I exposed all of the input files as parameters and run it from a batch file. The default value of all the parameters is the files for the test dataset I was using. When I run the the workspace on the test dataset either in FME Workbench, or on the command line, everything works perfectly. When I run it on any other dataset, none of the features from the shapefiles is written to the output .dgn files. FME reports warnings, but the translation is always successful.I've attached the workspace file, as

Hi,I have used a dgn file with "Expand Names cells" as "Yes". I want to make cells again as it is before...Is it not possible to make the cell again without cel library?BTW, I have used aggregator with igds_type=igds_cell but it output is coming as same lines.Pratap

I have an excel spreadsheet with years of maintenance data (2006-2015). I need to join that to our current pavement database, but in order. So if something was done to a road in 2007, and again in 2014, I need it to join the 2014 data (over write the 2007 data). Not sure if this matters, but not everything will match from the spreadsheet to the existing database (many fewer records in the excel sheet as we do not do something to every road every year). I've tried joiner, but no luck. In the parameters you can select all of the spreadsheets to read, but in the join section, you can only pick one year? Doesn't make sense to me.

I have been successfully using the GoogleGeocoder transformer (https://store.safe.com/transformers/googlegeocoder... to obtain coordinates based on addresses and intersection input for some time. (Thanks for that, by the way!) However, I am now being asked to generate intersection and address information based on X/Y's. Is there such an animal out there that already exists? Any thoughts on amount of effort to modify the GoogleGeocoder to provide that functionality?Thanks,Adam

Hello!When I create a ArcGIS Online writer and want to add a GlobalID as an attribute, the type to choose is esriFieldTypeGlobalID but FME doesn't offer me this choice.In the log I can see this message : "ArcGIS Online Feature Service Writer: Attribute 'GlobalID' on feature type 'Frenes' has type 'esriFieldTypeOID', but the type on the server is 'esriFieldTypeGlobalID'"I think FME should add this field type.Thanks!

Vendor sent lots of data ~11.2 GB of ECW files (8 files),I have a shape file for clipping the ECW, and I have been unsuccessful, i have done lots of research to determine if this is even possible, as clipping an ECW will always still have the "Black" and white areas that are part of the image seen below,I have converted to other formats (png, jp2, geotiff) and attempted to clip in FME and ESRi, but still no progress (esri crashes, and FME wont clip areas I need clipped),My fme process consists of and this file is pretty standard for basic clips, unfortunately I can't provide the ECW file due to restrictions, but any suggestions would be helpful, as I have searched for all the previous ones,Thanks,Doug

For a client we are working on a large fme workbench which has to insert data in multiple oracle tables which are related with several foreign keys.In earlier versions we got a lot of 'parent key not found' errors while running, so we put writing of parent tables in separate writers so they would be executed first, and that would solve that problem.The problem now is that the system also has Oracle Rule Framework to guard several business rules on the database. Rule Framework will test these rules on every commit to check if all rules are met, if not it will rollback everything.This leaves us with a problem since our separate writers will each commit when finished and than our rules are not all met and everything will be rollbacked. So to comply with the rules all feature types should be written by only one writer and be committed only ones. In the FME 2013SP1 documentation on the Microsoft Access Reader/Writer, there is language that states:Please note that databases associated with a Microsoft Access workgroup are not supported.http://docs.safe.com/fme/2013sp1/pdf/reader_writer_pdf/mdb_ado.pdf, page 3I want to assume that this is still unsupported functionality in FME 2014+. We're trying to use a database with a workgroup file, and we can't get into the provider to change the user name.Is this still unsupported? Hi,I have successfully exported tags to a Microstation V8 DGN file using FME 2015 Desktop software.However when I open the DGN file in Microstation and turn the tag display on using the "Edit Tags" tool, the tags are displaying about 300km away from the actual data.Can anyone explain why this is happening? Could it be a setting in the DGNWriter or something to do with the Seed file?Thanks, 

Hi, I have a list of HTML files that contain tables and I want to convert those files to XML format.I tried using a text file reader with HTMLToXHTMLConverter and XML writer. I also attempted HTMLToXHTMLConverter with creator and XML writer but didn't get the desired o/p. Is there some other way out for it? Or I am using different parameters?

My minecraft output looks like it's all one height and one colour, comparing it to the BowenIsland output, it should have multiple colours for multiple blocks and heights of trees, etc apparent. Where is my model going wrong? I used the FMW workspace and data as obtained from https://knowledge.safe.com/articles/1064/how-to-ma... and replaced the inputs with my prepared shapefiles and DEM. It should be seemless.

Using a JSONFormatter (pretty) and JSON Writer in series, the output file contains literally the characters \\r\\n with no actual line returns. Hey everyone I wasn't sure where to post this as I thought it may be a bug.I'm running FME Desktop 2016.0.0.0 Build 16167 - WIN64I have a workbench that takes in multiple rasters, does some reclassifying and then some raster maths by adding them together.When it gets to the writing stage, the process fails with this error message: GEOTIFF writer: Failed to process a band with interpretation 'INT32' with the number of bits per cell set to '4'. The band bit depth must be the minimum value of (8, 16, 32) that is greater than or equal to the specified bits per cell. For example: to write 1-bit data the band interpretation should be 8-bit; to write 12-bit data the band interpretation should be 16-bit; to write 19-bit data the band interpretation should be 32-bitA fatal error has occurred. Good day, everyone!I'm fairly new to FME (a couple of weeks of usage). I'm currently using FME 2015.1.Right now, I have a number of source Microstation V7 DGNs (from 2 different folders, which are being fed into a couple of DGN readers) that I'm feeding into a Clipper to clip them up into portions. I'm able to get the results (with a lot of help from a colleague). The issue I'm seeing so far:- Original DGNs, when the mouse hover over a, say, line, it says "Complex Chain \\ Line String" then "Level: 01_DUCT." But the resulting DGNs, the "Level" just says "60." I guess the "60" string is coming from the reader's Level Name field:- Original lines are DARK BLUE in colour, but resulting lines have some sort of a LIGHT PURPLE in colour.- Original arrow heads (for showing dimensions, I guess) are solid DARK BLUE. Whereas the resulting arrow heads are hollow.

basically my title sums it up. I converted a file in arcsde postgres database to postgis database. Conversion ran succsesfully and I can access the file in postgis in QGIS, but when I tried to access the fila via ArcGIS I get the error: Error opening feature class DBMS table not found. Can anyone help?

We have a bunch of jobs running on FME Desktop, these jobs are run by windows scheduled tasks. However we are migrating to FMEServer and plan to schedule the jobs with the builtin scheduler. The problem is that in order for our outsourcing-partner to easily monitor these jobs it would be ideal if FME could write to the windows eventlog. Has anyone out there done this ? In know of a few cmd-line programs that can write to the eventlog calling them from a workbench is one way to go or are there better options ?

There are two types of Esri Geodatabase writers for file geodatabase - "File Geodb API" and "File Geodb ArcObjects". Can anyone explain the difference and why I should use one over the other?,

Hi,In my workspace I have a featurereader that reads GeoTiff-files enclosed in ZIP-files. Subsequently I create a shape-file containing the bounding boxes of the GeoTiff-files and three attributes. The attributes bestand and lufo_jaar only contain values when I add an inspector to the featurereader. When I disable or remove the inspector, the attributes in the shape-file are empty. What is wrong with my workspace?I built the workspace using FME Desktop 2015.I'd really appreciate your help with this problem.Willy
