Hello all,This question has been asked before, but despite an example found here i still can't manage to get the description-attribute from the following kml-file: . Somehow FME sees the values for the kml_description (and kml_description_raw_text and kml_description_text) attribute as missing. I know for sure there is a description as i see it when opening the kml-file in Notepad++. What i do see, when sending the data to an inspector is three attributes:- kml_description_b (with Value Onderwerp:)- kml_description_b{1} (with Value Status:)- kml_description_b{2} (with Value Nummer:)So the field name has become a value and the original value is lost.I hope someone can help me with this. I've also been trying this with the Esri ArcGIS tool 'KML to layer'. Then i do get the description in a feature class, but somehow all locations are placed at the same coordinate.Greetings,Antoon van HamCity of Eindhoven, Netherlands

Hello,since updating to 2016.1 I have a problem with my sql statements to execute after translation. I need to update sequence values, because I am manually inserting data into serial column. However I am getting following error:Error executing SQL command ('select setval('$(Schema).unip_property_attributes_id_seq', (select max(id) from $(Schema).unip_property_attributes))'): 'ERROR:  syntax error at or near "$"LINE 1: ...property_attributes_id_seq', (select max(id) from $(Schema)....                                                             ^'PostgreSQL Writer: SQL statement To Execute After Translation failed; see above for detailswhere unip_property_attributes_id_seq is the name of the sequence I am trying to modify (set value) and $(Schema) is a published parameter where the name of the schema is stored. Seems like after updating to 2016.1 there is some problem with addressing published parameters in sql commands after translation, because $(Schema) parameter used in sql executor

I'm a new FME user, so any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm using FME 2014. I have a workbench with just a reader and a writer. The reader is set to start reading at row 2. This works great until I save the workbench and go back in, and then it seems to reset to start reading at row 1. This has happened twice so I don't think it's just me? Can you point me in the right direction? Thanks!

Hi Folks,New user here so I appreciate your feedback (and understanding). I am working with a KMZ and while I am able to write it to a MicrostationV7 format, it falls in the right place but I am only getting a simple line style as my only feature in place of the Placemarks. I would like to give them style and weight as they are so tiny I can barely see them in my map. Is this possible? Or am I looking at having to work in Microstation to "amp up" the symbology (points and lines).Thank you for your feedback! Enjoy your day.

Is it possible to set the ArcGIS Online properties (Description, Access & Use, Properties) when uploading a feature?

Hi all,I'm trying to translate an Access select query to a FME script. I have two Excel files in Access: one that contains data (LINC_RawData) and a comparison file (Linc_Recoding_Scheme)Below select Access query shows records that have a value in the "Category" field and that do not have a value in the "UID" filed.How can I translate this to FME? Basically, all data should flow through to a writer except when it matches above query, I'd like it to appear in a separate output (or list / filter)Thanks,Ed

I am writing data as different users to a ArcSDE Geodatabase via .sde connection files. How to make settings to automatically match each users' data to corresponding connection file?

I create a CSV and define the schema at creation. if I modify the csv, I cannot go back and edit the fields (add or rename) as all of them are grayed out, I can only delete and recreate the reader to do this update.. is there a way to edit the csv reader once created? thanks!

I am trying to join attributes from three SDE tables into an SDE feature class. I keep getting an error saying "Column 'Customer_ID' of type 'char(50)' specified in mapping file but not defined in existing table 'PARKS.CEMETERY_SPACES_BURIAL_CUSTOMERS'", where 'Customer_ID' is a new field I'm adding from one of the joins, and 'PARKS.CEMETERY_SPACES_BURIAL_CUSTOMERS' is the feature class I want to write all of the results to (I have built it so it has all of the resulting fields already created, but it is currently sitting empty). Has anyone seen an error like this before? I'm using an Esri ArcSDE writer and reader.

Hi, I have an XML-File which I read with flattening. Part of the XML structure is something like:<element>   <points>       <startPoint>          <value1></value1>          <value2></value2>       </startPoint>       <middlePoint>          <value1></value1>          <value2></value2>       </middlePoint>       <endPoint>          <value1></value1>          <value2></value2>       </endPoint>   </points></element> StartPoint and Endpoint must occur once, middlepoint can occur many times. I have to transform this in a structure like:<element>   <newpoints>       <pointNumber>       <value1></value1>       <value2></value2>          </newpoints></element> Obviously newpoints must occur at least twice. Any Suggestion how to combine those points with different attribute-names into the newpoints?Thanks!

When translating an object with multiple lines of text into MicroStation is there any way of setting the line spacing. Currently it automatically sets to "0"

My dgn file has a rectangle shape in level 60 and I'd like to extract all elements within that shape and create a new dgn file.

I have been asked by a colleague whether FME is able to read or write to Cadcorp's BDS (Base Dataset) or FDB (Feature Database) file formats.  Initially I thought this would probably be possible as FME can read/write to a large number of formats but upon checking further it doesn't look like this is possible.  There doesn't even appear to be any mention of these formats within the Knowledge Base or Community Answers sections of the websites.  Can anybody shed any light on whether FME can read/write to Cadcorp?  Many thanks

Hello,i have a shapefile containing lines (and data), some of them are viewed as IFMEMultiCurves containing several FMElines. When i get these into autocad, they are inserted as blocks with data. This is not ideal for me, but i could work with this. When i want to convert these back into shape file I not able to recreate the original shapefile. (I Get all of the individual FMElines, so far more objects than the initial shapefile).Is there a way, to keep these Multicurves together when converting back to shapefile?

I need to transform GML to other regarding to new XSD schema. What is the best practice to handle such GML tranformation? Attribute mapping using XMLTemplater? Constructing XSLT file or something else?

I am extremely new to FME. In my data-set, I have a column that displays number of seconds . I need this to be in a time format.Example: column data displays 181, I need this to read 0:03:01.Any help would be appreciated.

I'm looking to work with some information in Google's Protocol Buffer format, but it appears that FME doesn't naively support it. Short of creating some python/java (and external libraries) to read and convert it to JSON, but I wanted to see if anyone had any experience working with it and FME. I did a quick look around and found this blog post from a few years back describing how they use(d) it for sending messages back and forth in FME Server, but I can't seem to find anything else about it online.Anyone have any experience working with Protocol buffers and/or FME and would have tips on how to best proceed?

Hi there,I have seen two similar posts from 2013, unfortunately none of them had answers back then. Maybe something has changed until now. I have a citygml file and I need to add attributes from energyADE in at least semi-automatic way. My writer already recognizes energyADE, but it doesnt write it correctly. Has anybody ever achieved this right?Right now the most I can achieve is to write few simple attributes to a feature. I use attributeCreator and from thisI get thisNow, eaves height is written wrongly (231 is suppose to be a value, not a unit), but so be it for now. At least its in. I also figured that all xlink_hrefs (energy_construction_orientation{0}.xlink_href) seem to represent a relationship between classes according to schema, but in outcome that xlink_href is actually there although it shouldnt, for exampleAny ideas or pointers. Any tip will help. Also, if you have tried this, but came to realize its not possible, please let me know so I dont waste my time. Big thanks in

Hi,I have a polygon outline of the a river system with no elevation. Using contour shapefile, I generate a DEM raster, then drape the river polygon to get elevations for each point in the polygon.Problem I have is the data does not match. Occasionally the river edge covers the coastline so there is a slope across the river from one side of the river to its opposing side.Example being, if I stand on one side of the river and look to the other side, whilst being perpindicular, both z values should be the same. However, my results aren't the case.I've tried raster coercer to do some averages of z values and using neighbour finding to assign z values on the polygon, however when the neighbour is 'inbetween' points, it becomes inconsistent.is there a way to get clean centrelines without having the 'spider' legs along the way? Is there a way to draw perpendicular lines at each point of the polygon? Then I can use it to cut up the polygon to small segments. Use the seg
