Hello ! We have 1 core server and 2 engines servers in 3 differents VLANs, all needed ports are open and tested but without an application job, the core server loses the engines independently after 2 hours maximum. We need to suppress the engines in the hosts section and to re-add it to restore the engine. We worked around network questions, we opened all ports for tests, around systems (applicative services still running), we tried to modify the fmeEngineConfig.tx but no way. Could you please help us ? (french systems)Thank you !
Using the instructions, we were unable to use Chrome create the .cer file. We had to use Internet Explorer. In the Verify HTTPS configuration step, localhost produced an insecure connection although using the hostname produced a secure connection. How can this issue be corrected?
I have a couple of reasonably complex workspace that I have used the Worskpace reader to extract some data from. I have attached the image below to show where I am currently at. I have all the data but my question is "WHAT NOW", how do I use this data to it's best, and to explain what is going on in the workspace to the average person so it is understandable, and out put in a user friendly format. I thought someone may have some examples of what they did and how they used their data as documentation. I have watched the Video from tensing which was good but it really doesn't explain the how and final documents very well. Thank You.
I have found specifications for desktop and server machines, but I would like to confirm what specifications are needed for a license server. What are the minimum requirements and suggested requirements?Thank you for your time,Julia
I had an issue in on of my lower environments where the FME Server related services (Application Server, Server Core, Server Database, Server Engines) were stopped and switched to Local System Log On keeping the workbench from being able to access the necessary source data directories. I reconfigured the services to log on using the established service account and am now receiving the following error."There was an error submitting the job. COM.safe.fmeserver.api.FMEServerException: Could not load all queues due to connection issue to job router. Please try again."Has anybody experienced this and have a solution?
Hi, I have tried this method: https://community.safe.com/s/article/cannot-check-out-floating-license-but-have-borroweit didn't work. I have been given 2 accounts by my IT. my normal account, with locked license, I can't return the license because everytime I try to open fme desktop it shuts down itself. licenses are available. But, when I try to open fme desktop with my local admin account it opens just fine. BUT in license manager it shows as I am using 2 licenses?
I understand that the license server will check the licenses back in if it loses contact with the client, but will the client continue to function with its already checked-out license, or having lost the connection to the license server does it stop working until it has a valid connection to the license server again?
As usual, when a new version is released, I download both desktop, server, and engine, just in case. One thing puzzles me though: Why is the engine download so big (3.9g) ?It's 600Mb bigger than the full server (3.3g), and more than 2Gb larger than desktop (1.7g), which I would assume should be very similar in content to engine. What is the extra 2Gb of dead weight in the engine download ?Cheers.
I would like to install the transformer AutodeskBIM360DocsConnector o a shared folder instead of an user profiel. That way the transformer can be used by all employees without having to install it in every profile. As we work in Citrix the package is not installed completely and needs to be finished manually for each profile.
We want to set up our Flex licensing server using a CNAME instead of a server name. When submitting the license request do we just enter the full CNAME of the machine in the hostid field of the form? e.g. lic.prd.companyname.nl Will this work via the submission form? Thanks,Annette
We can only do one software upgrade a year because of restrictions from our IT department. Would be good to know if if we can wait for that and benefit from some bug fixes or just have to go with 2022.1
At the moment we are dealing with not enough licenses, part of the problem is naturally to buy new licenses, however sometimes users have their FME workbench session open for a long time, while they are not doing anything at all in the FME workbench. So I think it would partly solve the problem of not enough licenses, if inactive FMe desktop workbenches are closed down after a certain duration. Is something like that possible to configure for the users of FME desktop. It would be nice, if the changes made are saved automatically and no changes made are lost.
At our organization, we don't have enough licenses at the moment. Naturally, part of the solution is to buy new licenses, however it would also be nice to implement something that certain users get priority in getting a FME desktop license over other users. I was looking at the following link https://docs.safe.com/fme/html/FME_Desktop_Documentation/FME_Desktop_Admin_Guide/FMEInstallation/Restricting_Licenses_to_Users_or_Groups.htm. I see it's possible to reserve for certain groups, however instead of reserving, I would like to do priotising. Is it possible to configure something like that.
Hi all, We are planning our 2022 Server upgrade and it is the first time I have have done it with a parallel machine where we want to retain the original same server CNAME. We are also using IIS as our webserver with a URL rewrite. The machine is only internally available and is hosted in Azure. Our current proposed steps are to: 1. Install existing certificate on new Azure server2. Install FME Server3. Test basic server installation using localhost on the server itself4. Configure FME Server for IIS via URL rewrite based on CNAME5. Test ALL workspaces - access FME Server application via client with modified lmhosts6. DNS switch - turn off old server, turn on new server The new machine will be placed in the same Azure subnet so all existing firewall rules and whitelisting with apply to the new machine. Does anyone forsee any issuses with this approach?
Has anyone tried do configure a FlexLM manager on a Kubernetes environment? Can someone inform me whether it is possible or not? If yes, what should I should watch out for?
Dear FMEers, We are proceeding to upgrade to 2022.1 FME Server and would like to take advantage ofthe Azure Marketplace install option. Our cloud provider noticed that domain joining is not supported in the current Marketplace install. There are some workarounds available but this negates some of the benefit of using Marketplace. Has anyone used this configuration and what is their experience? We need to decide early next week whether to go down this route or whether to go for a tried and test traditional deployment on an Azure VM. At the moment we have a single stack and should stay this way for the next year. Any tips or experiences would be appreciated. Annette
hey guys, I'm installing FME Desktop 2022 on a linux operating system (ubuntu 20.04), but it does not install the sdk! any directions on how to install the sdk on that system? i can't find any sufficient documentation about it
I need that every user who launches FME Workbench has set paths to a shared folder, in order to share connections to databases. However, I do not find where FME saves this information. In the Windws registry?
We have setup a FME server with app gateway as the load balancer. App gateway (App Gateway IP) is mapped to Azure Front Door. Azure Front door URL is mapped with the public DNS. When user logins using SAML credentials (IDP: Azure Active Directory), user login is successful but it is redirect the application to Application Gateway URL rather than public URL (which is mapped to Azure Front Door).
After upgrading to FME Server/Desktop to 2022.1 we are now having issues with the workbenches running SQLite with a joiner. The application stops on this transformer. Appears to connect them nothing after. Any ideas?
I have two fme versions installed, 32 and 64-bit. I need to run my workbench in 32-bit but the default version is 64. How can i adjust for this when i run the workbench using python. Currently it fails silently with "Failure running workspace" and i am guessing the version is the issue. Any advice?I am running the workbench the fmeobjects The coda I am running is almost an exact copy of this articlehttps://community.safe.com/s/article/run-an-fme-workspace-from-python-using-fmeworkspac
I would like to overwrite a feature class in our ArcGIS Enterprise database into our online Portal on a weekly basis. I have attempted this in ArcGIS ModelBuilder but there is only the option to "Replace web layer". I have seen a few people use AttributeRemover and AttributeManager to overwrite a published web layer but I would like to know if there is a best-practice workflow to this. Thanks!
Notes on FME and Esri Versions, doesn't mention ArcGIS Pro 3.0, which is being released soon.https://community.safe.com/s/article/notes-on-fme-and-esri-versions-and-compatibilityCould you advise if 3.0 is support by 2022 and if not when this combability might be implemented?
Hi all,I'm looking for a specific FME version: FME(R) 2019.2.3.1 (20200212 - Build 19823 - WIN64) I'm not able to find it in the past versions section: https://www.safe.com/support/downloads/#past-versions Is it still available somewhere? Thanks
Hi. Im having no luck connect to sql express db. Can FME connect to SQL Express? If so, should I be using the ADO or JDBC reader? Also, is there anything else that could be an issue? Ive put the server and instance name in and port 1433 is open. Thanks
