Hi all,

We are planning our 2022 Server upgrade and it is the first time I have have done it with a parallel machine where we want to retain the original same server CNAME.

We are also using IIS as our webserver with a URL rewrite. The machine is only internally available and is hosted in Azure.

Our current proposed steps are to:

1. Install existing certificate on new Azure server

2. Install FME Server

3. Test basic server installation using localhost on the server itself

4. Configure FME Server for IIS via URL rewrite based on CNAME

5. Test ALL workspaces - access FME Server application via client with modified lmhosts

6. DNS switch - turn off old server, turn on new server

The new machine will be placed in the same Azure subnet so all existing firewall rules and whitelisting with apply to the new machine.

Does anyone forsee any issuses with this approach?

Hello @annette2

Regarding Upgrading to a Second Machine, Using the Same Host Name, please see our linked document for the FME server side setup. For setup of IIS web server on Azure for this scenario, it would be best to work with your IT dept for recommendations and procedure.

Thanks @Merline George - just what I was looking for.
