Reading coordinate system properties from a DGN file

Hi,We have an assignment where we are using FME Form 2024 version to convert a DGN file to a GIS format. For us to do it, the design file (DGN) needs to be reprojected and scaled to Web Mercator coordinates. I am not a designer, but a developer and learning about the DGN files as I go. The designers using Bentley’s Micro station tool.Using MicroStation V8 reader, reads the “Name” associated with the coordinate system, which is a free form field and can contain a name that the project designer puts in manually and is not a standard naming conversion.We are trying to read more information from the properties of the coordinate systems like the “Description”, “Affine parameters”. The description field contains standardized naming that we could use since it is not editable by the project designer. The Affine parameters define the scale factor that will be used to convert from ground to grid coordinates.Need help in identifying how this can be read through the MicroStation reader or any oth

Translating attributes from a system of record into feature class in geodatabase

Hi folks,I had a question regarding creating an FME script that takes attributes from a system of record dataset into an existing record created in a feature class within an Enterprise Geodatabase.Workflow consists of the following:Two layers with the same information and attributes in different systems of record – one in an asset management system and feature class in an Enterprise Geodatabase.No integration exists between the two systems yet as there is a new replacement system being developed in a project, but in the intermediary, it has been decided that the business will be updating the asset in the asset management system, then updating the feature class attribute table in the Enterprise Geodatabase. Therefore, they will be maintaining two datasets in tandem until the pilot project for the replacement system is complete.The difference is that the layer in the asset management system only stores XY/Lat/Long values whereas the true layer in the feature class in the Enterprise Geoda

Hi I’m interested in using MQTT connector to retrieve IOT messages and then publish to ArcGIS Online. FME bug causing failure in Workspace Runner, multiple datasets

Hi all, Since upgrading to FME 2021, I have found previous workspaces that were working in 2020 are now not working. This appears to be when multiple datasets are referenced in a WorkspaceRunner and through a user parameter. It concatenates the filepaths together and loses the double quotes and separation, causing the reader to fail. Any help would be appreciated. Kind regards,Jack

FME auto upgraded to version 2024 without my notice

Hello,My FME FORM 2023.2 recently has been updated to FME 2024 without my notice. And the new version installed was incomplete, so I can not use FME entirely.I did not see any option for auto updating in the FME software itself, did I miss anything? How to disable the auto updating?My IT team said they did not push out the upgrade. Can any one help please? or direct me to where I might get help?Thanks.

Problem to insert features into PostGis table

Hi,I would like to populate the "public.pdl_steg" table in PostgreSQL/PostGis with features from a "pdls" shapefile layer. public.pdl_steg includes triggers in some fields.The id_pdls field is of the serial type.The code_pdls field is unique. The triggers work well in PostGis et QGIS. Shapefile “pdls” table:However, after several attempts, I was unable to add the features from the "pdls" layer to "public.pdl_steg". The execution does not emit any errors and nothing happens.Any help is welcome.

Azure Service Bus Connector ConnectionString

I received a service bus connection string in the following format:Endpoint=sb://sb-sb-s-sbb-mastersupa.servicebus.windows.net/;SharedAccessKeyName=Andblablablab;SharedAccessKey=blablablablablablalbablablablabla+blablabla=;EntityPath=moreblablablablablatestBut it gives me an error in FME 2019,2020,2021Is says: Error: claim is empty or token is invalid.Should I enter the string in another format? Also: In 2022 and 2023 I get an error: No module named ‘uamqp’. Looks like this module is not available in this Python library set?

Unable to load a library in the folder: C:\\Program Files\\ArcGIS\\Pro\\bin. The error number returned from GetLastError is: 126

After upgrading to ArcGIS Pro 3.0.3 i get the above error when writing to an Esri Geodatabase (File Geodb). Does anyone know what the reason could be? I've also upgraded to FME 2022.2. Thanks in advance!

Failed to submit job. Error: 404

Hey, I have FME Server running great, my workbenches are running fine on schedules etc. I have several that are 'job submitters', and I am now trying to use the mobile app to trigger them manually, each time I connect to my server, navigate to my Repository and open the workbench, I click "Run Workspace" and I am immediately thrown an error: Failed to submit job. Error: 404 I am not finding any help articles etc, has anyone seen this issue before?

Connect to FME Server using OAuth

Is it somehow possible to receive a connection from another party using OAuth2?Do I need to add a specific user to the user list? Do I need to create an application?Could it be done using a webhook or an automation? Or should i build a webhook or automation and use that as a trigger to connect to another location using OAuth2? The other party does not want to send data to my FME Server without using OAuth as a security measure.

FME SharePoint Online Connector - site not showing in site list within transformer

Our goal is to write files on Sharepoint. Therefore, we used the Sharepoint Online Connector transformer, whereat the connection to Sharepoint works fine, but we currently have the following issue: The specific site we want to connect to does not show in the sites list within the transformer. We already checked the rights, but everything looks correct. What are the preconditions that a specific site is listed in the site list and can be used by the Sharepoint Online Connector transformer?

Find when a map service was last used?

My customer want me to automate a report how many times diffrent map services has been reqested.It’s on a unfederated arcgis server with arcgis server manger.In arcgisserver manager i can export this information one by one to a csv file and get how many times a service has been requested in a set time period.I need to find a way to automate this process. Is it possible to retrieve this statistics using FME and then print it to an Excel file? Then on FME-server I need to get a report every month how many times diffrenbt map services has been used.

FeatureReader crashes on reading ArcGIS Pro filegeodatabase

Hello,as it says in the title: FeatureReader crashes on reading ArcGIS Pro filegeodatabase. For my work I built a workbench were previously data got written to an Arcmap *.gdb which worked flawless. But now since my company is switching to ArcGIS Pro, I'm had to update the *.gdb to the ArcGIS Pro standards to be able to work with annotations. After running it with that updated *.gdb I received errors. After some fiddling it seemed that the issue was resolved. But a few runs later I found out that there were some attributes that I had to alter to the *.gdb to streamline it for later production steps. No probs so far. After doing that, the FeatureReader i use came up with the old attributes, and not the newly inserted. So I thought, I'll repoint it to the *.gdb, after doing so, the workbench crashed…I've tried different things to find out where the problem lies: Maybe a feature had bad geometry? Maybe to many features? Maybe the *.gdb was corrupted? But nothing I did helped. As a last st

Viewing Written Data in a workbench

I have upgraded FME Workbench to FME:FORM FME(R) 2023.0.1.0 (20230630 - Build 23332 - WIN64) In the previous version, when I wanted to review the written data in a file I simply clicked on the icon to View Written Data and the data would load in the preview window,However, since I upgraded to FME:FORM, every time I want to review the written data in a table, I have fo go through the following steps, even when the qualified table name is already present. I have done this, saved the workbench and come back and still had to follow the below steps. In fact, if I go to another area in the workbench and try to review written data I have to repeat these steps. Is this a bug or a feature.Click on the View Written Data icon Select Dataset to ViewClick on Parameters buttonUnder Constraints specifiy the tabke from a dropdown (even if the qualified table is already listed)

Best practices for large workbenches

Hi,I’ve been working on a pretty large export workbench.The subject is related to real estate. We’ve got a relational database and we drill into about 20 external layers to get some info and to filter our own data.The workbench has grown a lot over time and now it’s really hard to maintain or yet expand. I’m afraid it might break anywhere.Are there best practices on how to go about many processing jobs ?Is it sometimes best to split a workbench into several separate workbenches ? If yes, how to structure the processing parts ?Where to start the cleaning up chore ?

Condition for entering a user parameter depending on the value of another parameter

Is it possible to define the mandatory nature of a user parameter according to the value entered for another parameter?For example, if the first parameter is checked, then the second must be filled in. Otherwise, the second parameter is not mandatory.Thanks for your help

ArcGISOnline Feature Reader doesn't update attributes when changes made to feature layer

I have made the same project for 3 years the same way and I’m running into an issue now. I’m using the AGOL Feature Service Reader to read a feature layer that’s hosted on AGOL. I’m attempting to read the attribute table and filter/edit some data from the different features using tester and attributemanager, the goal is to eventually write the data out to excel spreadsheets. The problem is that it doesn’t have any of the updates made were made on ArcGIS Online/ArcGIS Pro. I have inspectors that are editing the feature layer and myself with ArcGIS Pro via Portal. I can see the changes made online and in ArcGIS Pro when I view the attribute tables, however when I read the data in FME it only has the original state when the data was first uploaded to AGOL. I have made sure that editing is enabled in the Settings of the Feature Layer. I’ve attempted to re-authenticate my AGOL credentials within FME and I’ve reviewed the source data path multiple times to make sure it’s grabbing the corre

Hello everyoneI have installed the module xarray with pip but I always get the error message :Screenshot error messagePython Exception <ModuleNotFoundError>: No module named 'pandas._libs.interval'Error executing string `import fmeimport fmeobjectsimport xarray In the old FME desktop version 2021.1.3.1 the module worked perfectly. In the new version FME Form 2023.2.2 it no longer finds the intervall submodule from Pandas, although it is present in the installation path. The Python interpreter is set to 3.8+Can anyone help me with this?

Hi, we had "FME Desktop Database Edition - Fixed" installed on a linux server. Somehow the application has been removed/deleted from the server and we can't launch FME app: 1- If we have to reinstall it, do we need to uninstall first? 2- How do i download "FME Desktop Database Edition - Fixed" for Red Hat linux (release 8.9 (Ootpa)) from https://engage.safe.com/support/downloads ?

Hi,I am trying to publish a elevation mosaic dataset as a elevation layer to portal but it is rendering as imagery layer. The sd draft created in the script does not allow me to set Lerc as compression and the default is PNG8.Can anybody help with ArcPy publishing for elevation services ?

How write a DWG (Auto CAD) file with coordinate system?

I have a DWG file with unknown CS but I know the CS it just needs to be assigned to the DWG. When I set the CS when I read the DWG then it appears in the correct location on the Earth but once I try to write it, it doesnt write the CS info and it appears again in the false location on Earth! I also tried “CoordinateSystemSetter” but with no success. On FME it appears good while transforming but not in the resulting DWG. Any Idea?

PythonCaller Failed 'FeatureProcessor' error with ArcPy

Hi All,Quick question in regards FME & ArcPy: I have been able to create a Python script that overwrites a ‘tree_ID’ field on AGOL based on the sum count of the three geometries (point, line and polygon). Basically the script does the following calculation and assigns the IDs, example below:Point = 3 featuresLine = 2 featuresPolygon = 2 featuresTOTAL = 7 features ID to update on AGOL 1,2,3,4,5,6 and 7The python works fine as the AGOL feature hosted layers have been updated with the new ‘tree_ID’ but the PythonCaller stops with the following error: ‘PythonFactory failed to load python symbol `FeatureProcessor'. An outdated FME packaged transformer may be in use. Please check Tools > FME Options > FME Packages to confirm that all FME Packages are up to date’ I can always run it on Pro but wanted to integrate it using PythonCaller as part of my workflow runs on FME,Any idea why I’m getting that error?PD: Python script attached.
