Question

Is it possible to set user privileges on an ArcGIS geodatabase (ArcSDE)?

Hi All. I’m fairly new still to FME - so I hope this isn’t a silly question!

Is it possible in FME to set user privileges (full editing rights) on feature classes, tables, etc in an ArcGIS sde? In ArcGIS Pro, typically I’d use the Change Privileges GP tool to do this, however one of the limitations is you can only seem to do it at the dataset level. I have several feature classes, and attachments which sit at the top level (not under a dataset), and I do not want to be assigning access manually.

Previously we have used a python script which grants privileges to a SDE user based on a layers listed in a csv file.

Just wondering if I could do this in FME? And if so, how?

Thanks,

Leanne

I do not think this can be done using native FME. If I would need this now I would use a PythonCaller and arcpy.

Yep, ArcPy in a PythonCaller would be the way
