I had to remove the alternative but then I noticed that if the user changed alternatives after starting the service in smallworld it would revert back to the alternative it was in when the service was started... any one got a fix for this?cheers

I have a workspace which reads data from Esri portal using a feature reader (ArcGIS Portal Feature Service reader). With some services and datasets I get the following error from ArcGIS; Is there a way to 'retry' the service if this error arises, so that the extract can continue rather than having to start again?Maybe add a parameter to the reader which specifies the number of retries.

I am using the HTTPCaller to GET information about a record in a CMMS. I then update values using data from GIS and use another HTTPCaller to SYNC the data back to the CMMS. The GET connection successfully closes. The SYNC connection successfully updates the data in the CMMS but the connection to do so is persisting for hours. I am not sure if this is an issue with the way I configured the HTTPCaller or with the CMMS API. I see in the documentation for the HTTPCaller transformer that there is a way to save cookies and use that to terminate a session. I am not sure how to do that. With FME 2020.2 I still have problems with the coordinate System writing an ecw-file.I want to write to EPSG:25832 but this is not what for example Q-GIS recognizes.I know this is an old issue but I what to know if there is any solution or workarround.

Hello Safers,One of our client wish to use FME to do a search inside all the documents in their sharepoint site.Here is an example of the search:  With Microsoft Search REST API, I can login to sharepoint then run this query in my browser: https://CLIENTDOMAIN.sharepoint.com/_api/search/query?querytext=%27195400002108700%27 I then obtain the same results in XML format: I wish to obtain the search’s result with FME. I tried HTTPCaller with Sharepoint Microsoft Authentication and it is not working. It said Unauthorized I also tried to use all other type of login (Basic, NTLM, etc) , with the same results. Can you tell me if something like what I want to accomplish is doable, or FME is limited right now to do something like this? I also tried with SharedPointOnlineConnector, but that only give do listing of the items, I cant make any queries.Thanks

FME Data Express works great for accessing and running any workspaces in your repositories, but I'm having some issues running server apps on it. It works fine if the server app does not require authentication, but if it does, I get the following error: Error Failed to retrieve details for https://fme.host.ca/fmeserver/apps/"App name"I have verified that my server account has permission to run this app and it works fine if I remove the required authentication. How can I set this up to work with authentication?

I'm having mixed results with ArcGIS Online connections on a new install of FME Server 2019.I can publish a workbench with a ArcGIS Online connection (publish the web connection also) and it will work on FME Server 2019 immediately. Then after a little while it will stop connecting an AGOL will start rejecting connections. I'm assuming the workbench generated a token and the token expired???Under my Web Connections on FME Server I have a ESRI ArcGIS Online connection which says:Esri ArcGIS Online Web Service has not been configured for Web authorization. Jobs will run with your published credentials but you will not be able to authorize or create new Esri ArcGIS Online Web Connections until Esri ArcGIS Online Web Service has been configured in "Manage Web Services". More Information I go through the process of making an application on ArcGIS Online getting the app id and the client secret and the redirect uri is prefilled with something like - urn:ietf:wg:oauth:2.0:

Hi everyone, We use FME 2015 database edition for writing data from Smallworld to Oracle via SBS plugin. We are planning to replace Oracle with SQL Server or SAP Hana and would like to know if the connection settings would be similar to Oracle ?

The datasets are not small the vector layer is 1600 polygons spanning over 150,000 hectares and the rasters are a 10 metre by 10 metre cell size over the same area. The rasters are slope classes of F,S,V,X in band 0, so my output would be polygon one has w number of "F", x number of "S", y number of "V" and z number of "X" cells. I hope that's a clear enough explanation of the problem!

Hi,I'm trying to automate a daily process, where the process is to use the ArgGIS portal and then update 20+ features services while updating each feature service from One Drive, so let's assume updating the feature service "A" by clicking on Update, and then a window pops up to login to One Drive to retrieve the right file and the feature gets updated.I was able to successfully create a reader for each feature service and use HTTP connector for the One Drive Connection and then the writer would be the same feature service of the ArcGIS, the issue that I'm having is that when I run the workspace multiple times, it runs ok with displaying correct number of records on each reader and writer but when I run again let's say the source file was not updated so I should get the same file pulled so the records should match, the tricky part is the reader and writer  reflect correct number of records but when I log in the ArcGIS, I see that the number of records are doub

Does anyone have an example of setting the twist angle (rotation) of a CAD viewport ? I have succesfully created the viewports, set the extent, and scale. Now I want to rotate them. When I try settting the twist angle it messes up the extent .

I'm attempting to use the Trimble Connect web connection, but I am receiving an authentication error. I have a Trimble Connect account and have received my consumer key and consumer secret for authentication, but I'm not able to get it to work.  I've reviewed the Trimble Connect API documentation, but I am still relatively new to working with API's, and this API requires multiple steps, so I'm having trouble. Does anybody have examples of authenticating with Trimble Connect with FME? I could sure use some assistance. I downloaded the provided collection and environment in PostMan and was able to connect, but no luck getting this to work in FME. Trimble Connect API Documentation 

Hi there! I am a testing the capacities of setting up a REST API to interact with FME Server, and I am now stuck trying to get access from an external network. I am usinghttp://<yourServerHost>/fmerest/, pasting my hostname:80, but browser always reply with the “This site can’t be reached”So, I can neither access Web User Interface from an external network Was looking for an answer on the Forum, but couldn’t find any. Some post are around allowing firewall to get the port 80. Already did that, and nothing happens. Do you have any suggestions?Thank you very much, J.

I have built an app with a geometry published parameter as input for the user. In my workspace I have the 'Optional' box unchecked, meaning it is a mandatory (not optional) parameter. However, when it is left blank and the app is submitted, I don't get a prompt telling me that it is needed. The job is submitted to server but fails right away, because it doesn't have a location. Other mandatory published parameters give a prompt to the user if they are left blank when the user tries to submit them. Is this a bug that the job is allowed to be submitted when a mandatory geometry parameter is left blank?

I have the task of detecting objects that exceed a certain height above the ground. These objects can be points, lines, polygons and also multipatches. All objects have 3D coordinates. Furthermore, there is of course a DEM which represents the ground = reference surface. Since the number of objects is several million, I am looking for an efficient solution.My current approach is proving to be too time-consuming and therefore impractical. Currently, I have a (small object-) DEM from each of the multipatches features and subtract this from the large DEM. If the difference is greater than the maximum limit, the object is played into a separate database. This method is still acceptable.For the point objects I add the height as an attribute and finally take the height from the height model. Finally, I calculate the difference and divide the objects according to the threshold value. Hi everyone, I developed a simple workspace to read a list of filenames from a Google Drive folder. It works fine when it's run with FME Desktop. When it's run with FME Server it works fine as long as the OAuth2 token is valid, but when the token expires the Google Drive connector seems not to be able to refresh the token.I point out that FME Server is configured to use a proxy server. I suppose this issue could be related to the proxy, but I don't know how to debug it further. I'm using FME Server 2020.2.1 build 20806 - linux-x64. Any suggestion? Hello, we're planning an installation of FME Server and looking to better take advantage of 64-bit capabilities, where readers and writers are not dependent on 32-bit clients. We are also planning for higher capacity by leveraging distributed engine environment. Although the admin guide does say that it is possible to place 32/64 bit clients on a single machine, it quite clearly does not recommend this. The admin guide further details installing engines on a separate machine for a distributed engine environment, but there is no indication whether the separate machine has to have the same engine bit version as FME Server Core or what the impact would be if the bit version does not match. If it is possible to have 32 bit engines on one machine and 64 bit engines on another, is it better to match one with FME Server Core?

I have a DWG file which is in an unknown coordinate system. I believe the data was inserted through a local coordinate system, but I'm not sure. This DWG consists of multiple layers.One of these layers is also available through another channel, where the coordinate system is known.Is it possible to georeference the DWG file to this 2nd dataset? I tried reprojectingthe DWG file, but it didn't work.

Good Day We have a few applications that expose prometheus metrics through an API, but there there no reader and or transformer to convert it to SQLServer. Has anyone worked with prometheus metrics, and what is the best way to read prometheus metrics format in FME or is just the best to use Prometheus and Grafana? Rudy
