FME Flow

You may recall that FME Server 2016+ has integrated a “Failover” mode. As a result, Safe Software has discontinued issuing the previous independent Failover license files in 2016+.  We still frequently receive failover license file requests from both clients and partners. Please be advised that anyone requesting an FME Server failover license via the new server licensing will receive a message stating, “Note: Failover license use is no longer supported with this version of FME Server. For up-to-date details, please contact your account manager, local partner or ." They will automatically receive a 60-day temporary license.  This notification was scheduled to appear Monday, February 11. Please note that this is only for FME Server 2016+ requests. Hello, We have a server on which we have 4 engines installed. FME Version is 2016. In our setup on FME Server we have main workspace which is responsible for some preprocessing and then it submits child workspace using ServerJobSubmitter.  In some cases this child workspace also has ServerJobSubmitter because it processes huge data set and if we didn't split it into several runs then we woud get out of memory exception or have other problems. It looks quite nice but in some cases (probably when few jobs are executed also on other engines) in that child workspace we have an error:FME license system failure: The maximum number of concurrent FME instances specified in the license has been reached (-508)   What can be the reasson for that? ServerJobSubmitter is set to wait for jobs to complete

I have uploaded my python dependencies (various .py modules) to FME Resources as is described here. Resources are uploaded and updated using the rest api.My FMW's can then see the resources and use them. When I update or replace an existing module however the engines continue to use an older version of the module. Rebooting FME server resolves the problem but is obviously not a great solution.Any suggestions on how to get the engines to see the newly uploaded resources? Clear cached versions of python code? Thanks everyone in advance about helping me sort this out.   I have a topic set up on FME server and have an outside system posting a simple JSON to it. I then have a subscription that is subscribed to that topic with a workspace associated to it. I can see that it is receiving the JSON in: Resources>System>Temp>SubscriptionsWhen I published this workspace to the server, I subscribed it to the topic and set: Parameter to Get Topic Message: "Source JSON (JavaScript Object Notation) File or URL. I used the JSON downloaded from the temp folder to create the workspace.   At this point I can see the job starting each time the JSON is posted to the topic, but it is not getting the data to the writer.   Am I missing a parameter that needs to push the JSON from the topic to the reader correctly?   

I have several excel sheets that have same/similar structures, although some are missing their header names. I can migrate them to SQL Server one-by-one using FME. But I want to loop over the contents of my folder (i.e the excel files) and migrate them all in one go. How do I loop over them? I want to use the same header names for the files missing them as the ones that have them - the header names.

Hello everybody,please, Im trying to solve problem with FME license server. As I checked, there is possibility to restrict one floating license for specific usergroup (check there https://docs.safe.com/fme/html/FME_Desktop_Documentation/FME_Desktop_Admin_Guide/FMEInstallation/Restricting_Licenses_to_Users_or_Groups.htm). But, and its my question, is there any possibility to set exact usage time for specific usergroup?E.g. Just imagine FME License server with 2 floating licenses. I just wanna to restrict one license for usergroup called "GIS" only for daytime from 6PM till 6AM. From 6AM till 6PM, both licenses should be available for all users (doesnt matter of what usergroup). Is there any tool how to set it up please? Thank You so much for all ideas!Lubo

I have a FME Server (2018.1.01) set up with two local engines and one remote engine. This remote engine periodically shuts down and requires restarting. I haven't found a pattern of anything causing it to shut down. Is this a known issue? I also cannot manage the number of engines for this host, it isn't listed as a host on the engines page in the web interface.

We are getting this |ERROR |ArcGIS Online Feature Service Writer: Encountered an unexpected error. The error code from the server was '504' and the message was: 'Your request has timed out.The scheduled benches run most of the time, but occasionally they fail with this error. We have tried reducing the number of items sent from 1000 to 200, but still get this error when truncating and updating data to AGOL sometimes... The size of the data being updated remains the same and the update works most of the time. 

Hello, So I have an issue. I'm trying to run a workspace at work but there ar no standard arcgis licences avialable. So fme tries to use the arcpro licence. It gives this error: Unable to load a library in the folder: C:\\Program Files\\ArcGIS\\Pro\\bin. The error number returned from GetLastError is: 127Arcpro is set to work offline and there are plenty licences available. Anyone has an idea of what might be the issue. Also, arcgis 10.6.1 is installed with the right version of background geoprocessing and the version of arcpro is 2.3.0. Thanks,Simon

Was previously running Windows 10 Pro build version 1803, until yesterday when Windows decided to update me from build version 1803 to build version 1809. This update seemingly has deleted FME Desktop application, though the other FME application such as Data Inspector and Quick Translator are still present.I launched FME Licensing Assistant 2018.1 and tried to enter in my Home Use License serial number into the Single-Fixed-License field. But it returned this error.""Invalid trial activation codeThis trial activation code has already been used to generate a license. If you wish to obtain a new trial activation code, please visit www.safe.com/trial.""  The license if valid for one year from 09/07/2018. So my license isn't expired either. I also tried pointing the FME Licensing Assistant 2018.1 to C:\\ProgramData\\Safe Software\\FME\\Licenses since the license file still exists. That returned "License not valid o

Hi, I have a oracle database connection on the FME Server, the fme script runs fine from FME server if the connection is used for reading but when I try to write to it, it does not work. From SQL plus on FME server do not have any problem reading or writing. We have a single instance of FME Server shared across multiple utilities (i.e, separate finances). We recently purchased an additional engine for one of our utilities, who has been consistently using the engine owned and paid for by another. Even though they now have their own, this utility's users continue to use the engine owned by the other utility, which hoses up that utility's jobs. Is there any way to limit engine access by user so that each utility's users can only see the engine specifically for them?

Please fix this...

We use Cityworks and ESRI softwares for asset management. I am trying to update a date field in the cityworks table using a value from the ESRI SDE table. Howdy,In FME Server I have a Notification Subscription that send an email on job failure, I am wondering if there is a simple way to have the emial include the following:Insert text with the name of the schedule that initiated the jobAttach the translation log to the email notification or even better would be to just insert the text of any error messages.From searching the resources I found good info on the Email Subscriber and email keywords but nothing specifically addressing my questions.I did find a solution attaching a log file with a datadownload job but no info related to subscription email.Thank you for the assistance!Currently my email message template looks like this:

I know this question has a lot of subjectivity to it, but we are currently working on an enterprise event bus/integration architecture plan and considering FME as a central point in this new architecture. I cannot find what my current license serial number is to input into the upgraded 2018 FME Server license area. the temporary works for 7 days but want to use the license i had for 2015 server on 2018 server, 

Does anyone know if a "how to" article exists to instruct users how to setup and apply an FME Desktop FME ArcGIS Data Interop Edition licence? A description of how to add the licence to FME and then how to enable the licence over in ArcGIS as well as the requirements to ensure the ESRI Data Interoperability extension is licenced? It feels like something that 'should' exist but I can't find it. I've had a client ask for a reference document and I wanted to forward a link... It appears this might be an oversight from the docs and the KC. I have a schedule that runs fine using a wildcard to find the source files. Rather than running the workspace every 10 minutes I would like to set up a directory watch (or similar) to trigger the workspace to run.  When creating the subscription I get this error: Unexpected value "$(a)/ServiceOrders/FME/NotificationDefectsExport*.csv" for parameter "value," expected list The issue appears to be using a wildcard in the source file of a subscription.I have tried with both UNC source path and by setting up a resource in FME Server. Permissions are not an issue as the workspace runs fine on a schedule.  

Hello,I'm using FME Server to write data to Smallworld. This works very fine but I encounter a problem.The alternative I'm writing to gets locked by the FME Server user (in the screenshot this user is ). Once the data is written, the alternative can't be accessed in write modus by other users. Therefore posting the loaded data to the upper alternatives isn't possible anymore.Any idea what's the cause of this behaviour? Am I overlooking something when configuring FME Server?Thanks!Luc

Hi,I have a workspace that performs a few tasks and then sends myself an email reporting the results. One email goes to my internal (corporate) email and it's cc'd to an external one (garbage yahoo account) I use for testing.I recently added another stream to the workspace and also want an email report for that one. However, I can't get it to send the external message. The second Emailer is duplicated from the original with only a change to the body text. Emailer 1 still sends both. Emailer 2 sends the internal version but not the external. How can it work in one case and not the other from the same workspace?Thanks Notes: I have also tried using a non duplicated Emailer and swapping the To: with the CC.
