I have two files in a common directory with the following naming scheme{Know prefix}_{variable suffix} {Know prefix}_{known infix}_{variable suffix}ex. ABC_123 ABC_XYZ_123Is there an easy way to read in only the file without the infix? The standard wildcard {prefix}* will pick up both files. Currently I'm testing the fme feature type to see whether or not it contains the infix, but ideally I would like to not even read it in.

Hello,I am unable to read attachments from my hosted feature service on Portal, using the Esri ArcGIS Portal Feature Service Reader. If I set "Include Attachments" to no, I am able to read the hosted data without attachments, but when I set "Include Attachments" to yes, my translation fails, and I get the following error:Here are the reader parameters used when the workspace fails:Does anyone have any ideas on why this isn't working? Hello,  I am trying to make a Shape file from my DWG. I am trying to use only one layer from DWG because that is all I need. Basically I am trying to close all the polygons in that layer, and calculate their area and to write their area in shp. I am not getting a good result and I have no idea what could be the problem.Also, I was wondering if I can get a result written in form of "P= "number" m2". Now I am getting this from screen shot.

HelloI write solids to KML and want to give the borderlines/wireframe of the solid a different color/alpha in order to get better visibility of the solid.I try KMLStyler with Color 0,0,0 (black) and Opacity 1 and Fill Color set to red and Fill Opacity set to 0.7.I don't see any effect however. There is no wireframe visible, like I used to get it years ago with the first version of KML writer ...Any hints what maybe wrong ?Seems like I need to duplicate the wireframe as independent feature ...

Hello, I am trying to make a raster from two SHP files. It is a bit specific so I would like to ask you if maybe somebody has any good idea what is the best idea how to solve this.  I am having two input Shape files that have multiple attributes. In one file, I first want to take only two classes from one attribute (ROADS: Motorway and Residential) and give them specific thickness, all the others can be normal width. (I was wondering if the best way to solve it is Tester ---> AttributeCreator).After that, I would like to prepare that for printing. Best way would probably be transforming it to raster. (MapnikRasterizer???) I would need to specify the window that I want to be printed and I know that it can be done with MapnikRasterizer.  I am looking forward to all good ideas and suggestions how to solve this.Thank you all in advance!

Here's a tricky one. We're using an excel marcro-enabled (xlsm) file as a template and in the script we're populating it with various info from textfiles and more. When we try to open the resulting Excel file with Excel (2016) the file doesn't open. We're getting an error message saying there's something wrong with the file and would you like to try to fix the errors? The offered fix isn't good enough. I'm thinking this might have to do with the xlsm-format or maybe it's a language issue. We've had help from SAFE resaving the file and then this would sometimes remedy the situation. Anyways, this is just to check if anybody has encountered the same problem and have any ideas as to what in the excel template can cause this error. We have macros in the file and from what I can gather no other strange things.Thankful for any suggestions.

I am trying to go from an IFC fil to cityGML in accordance with the BIM to GIS (Basic) | IFC LOD 100 to LOD 2 CityGML tutorial. I am currently tying to replicate all the 4 steps within my own workspace with my own readers. However in step 3 "Set Attributes and traits" my AttributeCreator doesn't work and I find the tutorial lacking in showing how to set it up.So how do i setup my transformers in step3?Both the AttributeCreator and the GeometryPropertySetter

When I use an attribute value in SVG Writer "Feature Type Name", it seems that layer style attribute doesn´t work. The layer style custom value doesn´t appear in inner SVG <g>. Futhermore, allow an attribute value in layer style attribute would be fine (now only a text string).

I have created a workbench that transforms DGN cells to AutoCAD blocks. In this process I am trying to set a feature to the defpoints layer but when I aggregate to a block it puts all features on 0. Is there a way to keep that defpoints layer when aggregating?

Hi!I need help. No matter how I try, it does not read the files contained inside different subfolders. I was told to set the path so in the Dataset appears like this: <pathname>\\**and replace the pathname with mine. I have 2 readers combined together, and excel sheet and the subfolders inside a main folder. I have set it so there is an error report in the end and it keeps on telling me, that the files are not inside the subfolders. The files formats are different: pdf, dwg, etc..Thanks for your help in advance!!

When I use FME Quick Translator to convert CityGML file to IMX, I get this error. How can I fix it?

Could someone recommend the best transformer for converting 2 point clouds to a geotiffs so that they can be compared for differences in elevations? Also what is recommended to use as a surface tolerance and output dem x and y spacings using the Rasterdemgenerator? I have two point clouds representing 2 different years. I would like to compare any differences in elevations by calculating the difference in elevations. The area is very flat and differences can be less than 1m. Any guidance appreciated. thanks

hello all,i have created some customer parameters in Revit and would like to expose them in FME as attributei have tried to use the Revit read as it does expose more attributes then the IFC reader, but it still only shows the default Revit parameters, i am sure AttrivuteExposer or GeometryPropertyExtractor would do the trick, but i am really strugging to expose the data. any help with this would be greatcheers,James

I want to create LOD2 objects from LAS file. As input i only have 2D buildings as polygons, representing boundary of building, with no roof-ridges or other roof details, only polygons (without elevation)I want to create roof-ridges and roof surfaces.How do I use FME to make areas to represent roof sides? So i need the maximum and minimum elevation inside the boundary but how to do to make roof sides ?I used a clipper between las and boundary and after a pointcloudcalculator but after i use a geometryreplacer i don't understand all geometries exit rejected why ?And after it's necessary to use 3d Forcer, i need help !!Thank youNat

I created a workbench to translate from Smallworld to GeoDatabase. In my Smallworld reader, I've specified to export the difference between a checkpoint (base) and an alternative. The difference between the alternative and the base (checkpoint) was 1 insert and 1 update. I used the AttributeCreator transformer to inspect the fmd_db_operation for insert, then insert the object into the GeoDatabase writer. However, it treat both records as insert and inserted both records (the insert & the update) into the GeoDatabase writer.

Hi all,I'm having a simple question about using the Red-Green-Blue (RGB-) values from point clouds. I have a LAS-file, which is already coloured and does display the RGB-values when I open the LAS-file in the FME Data Inspector. However, it seems impossible to use those values in any kind of calculator. I have a GIS-background, and I am used to a strict vector/raster data separation. It seems like a LAS-file is read as a raster, although it can contain multiple points per [xy]-value (e.g. walls, tree stems). I want to use the RGB-values that are already in de point properties. I see how I can keep them (e.g. PointCloudPropertyExtractor), but there seems to be no way to use these properties in any kind of calculation tool. The reason why I want to do this, is because I want to filter some points out based upon the ratio (R+G)/B.Suggestions are welcome :)Thanks in advance,Martin

Hi there. I have just started to use FME and am still learning this super capable software.I have a question regarding vtk (paraview data file, legacy format).I want to read vtk legacy files and convert to different 3D file format like 3D Tiles or IFC. And it is important to keep attributes when I convert vtk files. So far, I am converting vtk files to stl format using a python script but it won't keep attributes (or values). Do you think I can somehow convert vtk legacy files using FME? or Safe Software can somehow develop the reader for vtk legacy format?? I searched community postings but I couldn't find any answers.Thank you!

We are using following FME product:  FME(R) 2016.0.1.1 (20160224 - Build 16177 - WIN32)  We noticed that fields of type 'Lookup' are not supported. We get following error:  Microsoft SharePoint List Reader: The Field 'Gemeinde' of type 'Lookup' is currently not supported and will be excluded from the feature schema.Are there efforts underway to support fields of type 'Lookup' in Microsoft SharePoint List Reader in a future FME Desktop Version? Or is there a know workaround solving this problem?

I am having different dataset, that i have to convert to CityGML using ADEs. When am trying to do this, TRANSLATION WAS SUCCESSFUL is displayed (eg: 780 features transformed)BUt, when am viewing it in FME Data Inspector, "THERE IS NO GEOMETRY IN THIS VIEW" is shownI am using FME trail version. I am using FME Server 2016.1.1 and FME Desktop 2016.1.3.1 to make a workspace for FME Server that will write a DXF/DWG file with the FeatureWriter transformer. I have to use a template DWG file to be able to write the correct linetypes and block names.But I have noticed that the FeatureWriter transformer, when running on FME Server, will simply ignore the template DWG file I have specified, and write in the log that "No AutoCAD Template file specified". However, running the same workspace, with the same parameters, locally on FME Desktop, the FeatureWriter transformer will use the template DWG file as expected.I have tried putting the template DWG file on the server's local C: drive with an absolute path, putting the template DWG file on a network share with an UNC path, and uploading the tempate DWG file when publishing the workspace. No matter what, the FeatureWriter transformer will always always ignore the template DWG file when running on FME Server.The only way I ha

Hello!  It appears as though an email address can only be associated with a single FME Cloud account... I wanted to add a new user to an existing FME Cloud account, but because the user already began the process of opening a personal account (using the same email address), he was unable to join the company account. He had to first complete the registration of his own account, and then close it, before he could be added as a user to the company account. Has anyone else encountered this? Is there a way around this restriction?Thank you,Courtney
