HiWe are migrating from one AGOL portal to another (with regional hosting). I have used the AGOL connector to list all service definitions of hosted feature services, download/upload the .sd files and publish the service on the new portal. This appears to have been successful.However, I am now trying to compare the feature services in each AGOL account and am struggling. I want to iterate through each feature service and compare it with the the one on the other account using the Change Detector. I have used the AGOL connector to list all the feature services and fed that into a feature reader. Unfortunately, all the features just come out the generic port without any schema so it seems impossible to compare the feature services. Does anyone know a way this could be done please?Also, I need it to finish with one feature service before it moves on to the next one. Is this possible?Many thanks 

We've set up a process for a client that takes data and writes it to CSV. That CSV is then loaded into a data warehouse.That CSV conforms to the official CSV standards and thus the last line ends with a CR/LF:Shown here in Notepad++. This means there's a last, empty, line in the file. The data warehouse system apparently cannot handle this. Is there a way to remove this last CR/LF from the file? (post-processing python, probably).I must admit I am not convinced this should be fixed on the FME side, but trying to get the data warehouse developers to move on this is not going to happen.

Has anyone else had any issues with the SubstringExtractor in FME2025? I have a process that works in an older version (2021) but in the 2025 version I am seeing a different behavior.Wanting the last 7 characters in a string I used a Start Index of -7 and an End Index of -1. This worked in FME 2021. When opening the workspace in FME 2025, it initially works, but when I upgrade the transformer from V2 to V3, it then returns no value. I created a new blank workspace and added a brand new SubstringExtractor in 2025 and saw the same result. It seems to work selecting values from the start like Start 4 End 7, or Start 2 End -1. But having the start be negative seems to always return no value. The change listed for the V2-V3 upgrade was adding bulk mode support.Hoping I am just missing something/doing something wrong here.Version is 2025.0.1.0Attached is a version of the workspace with the transformer not upgraded, that way you can see the before and after by just upgrading it on your end if

Hi all. I am just trying to do something very basic but keep getting a “1019 error. The specified feature could not be updated or does not exist” when using the update feature writer.This only happens with polygons and lines/polylines but works fine with points.The workbench below is taking a polygon boundary dataset from portal, taking a polygon from AGOL putting it through a change detector - whose unique identifier is a name in both features- then updating/inserting/deleting when necessary to essentially make the AGOL layer the same as the portal layer….Or in theory this is what i want it to do. Any help would be much appreciated.  

I’m currently dynamically reading web feature service layers by using a feature reader and trying to write them up to AGOL. I have no issues dynamically writing to a File GDB, but if I attempt to write to AGOL, I only get a Python KeyError, which isn’t telling me anything. Message Type: fme::internal::_v0::py::ExceptionPython Exception <KeyError>: 'Cadastre_Address_LGATE002'ARCGISONLINEFEATURES writer: An error has occurred. Check the logfile above for detailsThis only occurs when I want to write dynamically to AGOL, if I just write the exposed attributes it functions. Is there any way around this? I’m aiming to use one workspace to read in the features based on parameters, and write it out using parameters, as a way of creating and updating feature services.I should note that it seems to be half creating the feature service itself, but when it comes to write any features to the newly made feature service, the error appears.Thanks

Anyone ever developed a VS Code “language” for FME logs files? Years ago somone -  I wish I could remember who _ did this for NotePad++ and it was awesome.The defaul VS Code log view is actually not bad so this is really a - “would be nice”

We are wondering which version of FME Flow will support ArcGIS Enterprise 11.5. Looking on the history in Notes on FME and Esri Versions and Compatibility I would guess it might be 2025.1?

I am trying to use a template file in an excel writer for my data. The data is collected from a number of sites, so I was aiming to use the site id attribute as the sheet name to export a new sheet per site. Unfortunately the template is only being used for the first site which passes through my writer, and the other sheets are unformatted. Has anyone encountered this and found a solution to apply the template to all sheets if multiple are being written in the same feature writer? 

I’m using an FME FeatureReader to read a content of an Excel file containing various values, including decimal numbers, some of them small with more then 5 decimal zeroes.The FME, apparently, handles these small numbers using scientific e notation.After processing the data, I write it into a CSV file using a FeatureWriter. The problem is, that the small numbers are written in their scientific notation form, and not as real decimal numbers. This is causing an issue further down the line.I tried various things to force the FME to write the numbers as decimals:forcing datatype of the affected attributes in the FeatureWriter to Decimal or Real using AttributeManager to change the datatype of the affected attributes to Real, Decimal and even String forcing the datatype of the affected attributes in the FeatureWriter to String changing the datatype of the affected cells in the Excel file to TextNothing helped.I tried to find a String or Math function that would achieve that, but I’m not sure

Hi All,I'm still somewhat new to FME and am hoping someone can advise me.Through another workbench I have been able to gather a a list of service URLs from an AGOL. I would now like to automate the process of creating a new item in ArcGIS Portal via the New Item > URL workflow.I have looked through the Esri ArcGIS Portal Feature Service Reader/Writer and a few other transformers but none seem to accommodate for creating a referenced item via URL. Google is leading me nowhere either.Any advice or pointers?Thanks very much for your time! 

Greetings all!I searched for similar questions but wasn’t able to find any pertaining to this, so apologies if I missed them. I’m using the NeighborFinder transformer to locate points along measure-aware polylines to acquire the Measure value of all lines within 5 meters and merging all attributes and generating a list when multiple candidates are found. When there are multiple candidates, it’s assigning the Measure value of the point from one of the lines at random (possible the closest?). However, when I use the ListExploder transformer to create features from all elements in the list, while all other attributes appear to be specific per feature, the Measure values are the same for all features spawning from the same feature. Hopefully this make sense. I assume I have a parameter set incorrectly or something, but how do I ensure each feature has the measure value specific to the line it was matched to?

I have a FME workbench that is scheduled to run late in the evening, and it is a lengthy process, so it can sometimes run over midnight.Is there a way I can capture the date of the day that the workbench started to run and to store that date in a parameter?I tried DateTimeStamper but it re-captures the date for every single feature, so if the process runs over midnight, the date changes

Hi,I created a workspace that uses an Esri ArcGIS Online (AGOL) Feature Service. The workspace run on FME Form and on FME Flow if i run it. However, once I make an workspace app from the workspace on FME Form I get the following error and my workspace fails: 89 2025-7-2 14:58:39 | ArcGIS Online Feature Service Reader: Connection 'AGOL service' does not exist. Check connection parameter and connection definitions in FME options and try again  Here is a screenshot from my jobs. Lower one is of my run and top one is through the workspace app.  We are running on FME Flow 2023.2.4

I know I can restart a map service in ArcGIS Server Manager. Is it possible to restart a map service in ArcGIS Server using FME? if yes, how is this done?

Im trying to work with the Cityworks API to create Work Orders using FME desktop.I used the http caller to create the Work order and populate the necessary fields. However, my next challenge is to upload an attachment to the Work Order that comes from the attachment in the AGOL feature Layer created from Survey123. To do that I have used another HTTP caller set to POST with the URL.../services/Ams/Attachments/AddWorkOrderAttachment? I know I have the Query string correct but I'm doing something wrong in the Multipart Upload section. Also, Do I need to use a token if I'm using a web connection for Authentication?       

I see there’s already an Idea for providing the option for versioning Automations in FME Flow but the Idea was created 5 years ago and there doesn’t seem to have been any traction on it.So, in the absence of any official support from Safe, what are people doing with regard to creating and saving versions of Automations?Currently, if I make a change to an Automation but then need to revert that change there’s no way of doing it once it’s been saved.The only workaround for this I can think of is to make a Project containing the Automation and then manually exporting the project (and saving it to a version control system) before making any changes to the Automation. The obvious problem with this is that it relies on:remembering to export a Project before making any Automation changes making sure the Project name is consistent (hard to do with multiple people editing)There does not seem to be any System Event that is triggered on Automation change and no API call available for downloading

I was wondering if I can hide the input field that comes with the Geometry Parameter when creating a workspace app in FME Flow.My users are all over the place, some of them understand that they have to set a point on the map and are confused thereafter when a whole GeoJSON syntax shows up instead of coordinates they expect, others think they should write a street address in the input field (mistaking the input field for a geolocator), etc…I can leave a message for them but hey, how many will read it...

Hello everyone,I have some experience with Workspace apps, but not as much with Automation apps. In my previous work with Workspace apps, I created an app that is based on user input on a map. When a user clicks on the Run button, the "Running..." button appears. Once the script finishes successfully, the user can download a ZIP file by clicking on the Datadownload URL.Now, I’m trying to build something similar using an Automation app, but I’ve found the process to be quite different.Based on the following post, I’ve set up the following: I have a manual trigger that includes a manual parameter called "Geometry" (GEOM). This GEOM parameter is then used in the subsequent Workspace. Similar to the Workspace app, I want to show a "Running..." button while the script is running, and once it finishes, makes a download URL available to the user. However, the only feedback to the user is the green "Automation Triggered." message.There’s no further feedback for the user, that the script is r

Is there any fundamental differences between the CoordinateSystemSetter in FME and defining projection i ArcGIS Pro?  I have attempted both separately in an IFC-file. ArcGIS Pro doesn’t automatically recognize the coordinate system of the file. Using the tool “Define Projection” in ArcGIS Pro manages to place the model in the correct area, while using CoordinateSystemSetter places the model approximately 30 km away. I have also tried to remove the coordinate system from the IFC-file before using CoordinateSystemSetter, but I still get the same results.  Any workarounds or tips for troubleshooting? The IFC-file is in version 2x3.

Hello,I am hoping to get a little guidance on how to properly extract m-values from a ESRI line feature class. In ArcGIS Pro, I can confirm that my feature class is m-value enabled. I need to extract the m-value locations in FME, convert all the vertex locations (with associated m-value) to points, then use the neighbor finder transformer to join the m-value to my point data.I’m having trouble isolating and exposing the m-values from my source line data. In the Feature Information for the line data, I can see a “Measure (1)” value under Geometry > Line (screenshot below). Under Coordinates, if I click into an individual coordinate the value is displayed as: -11697066.4549, 4955884.293300003Measures:<default_measure> = 0.035799999997834675 How can use an AttributeExposer (or other transformer) to properly isolated the coordinate and associated m-value data into a list? Hello,I have automation which triggers a workbench and has to send result file on email in the end.The resulted excel file has dynamic name with @DateTimeNow parameter.How to set that automation takes the correct file? If I add fixed name, it works fine but I don’t know how to make it for dynamic name. Could anyone help, please?

Hi there,I am trying to calculate a rolling average across a dynamic number of features for a certain attribute. I saw this post here explaining that you can do it using the adjacent features parameter in the attribute creator:Calculating moving average (3 rolling points) in FME. | CommunityHowever my issue is that the number of features that the rolling average needs to be calculated over is dynamic, it could change depending on the requirement of the incoming data. This number of features required is stored in an attribute called ‘consec_avg_requirement’. I therefore need to be able to set the number of prior features to use in the rolling average to be whatever the value is in that field -1. The only option shown here is to use a user parameter… but is it possible to assign an attribute to a user parameter that could vary with each run?  

Occasionally the upstream service from external provider might not retuning any features, in those cases, there will be 0 features going to the “Revised” stream. How do I stop ChangeDectector instead of keep running and delete existing features.

Dear all, I am trying to do something that seems very simple :I have a table that has 3 columns “id”, “category”, “value”  and I would like to reshape it in wide format “id”, “category.A”, “category.B”, etc. (in R, it would be reshape(dt, direction=”wide”, idvar=”id”, timevar=”category”)I have tried the AttributePivoter with the settings : Group rows=id, group columns =category, attribute to analyze = valuebut it does not work, in the output I still get the 3 columns id, category, value with missing values everywhere in the category and value columns what am I doing wrong ? would another transformer do the job ? thanks in advance
