Hello Community,in FME 2024 I was able to find out whether I was running a workspace on FME Flow or locally by checking FME_SERVER_WEB_URL or FME_SERVER_HOST values. Both values would be empty unless the workspace was actually running on FME Flow. Fast forward to after upgrading FME to 2026, in FME Form, FME_SERVER_* parameter values are URL/host of the FME Flow FME Form is connected to. Knowing whether a workspace is ran locally is important e.g. if it calls a child workspace (using WorkspaceRunner vs. FMEFlowJobSubmitter). It is also very helpful during authoring/troubleshooting. How can I do this in 2026? Thank you in advance for any tips/ideas

I have been using FME 2025.1 to update a table that has 1.7M records and 12 fields in ArcGIS Enterprise (AGE) for the last year and we are getting ready to move the webmap to ArcGIS Online (AGOL) later this year.  The issue that I am having is that it is taking more than double the amount of time to update the table in AGOL.  I’ve read the FME community comments and the Esri forums but haven’t been able to find an alternate solution that can improve the update speed.My typical process has processing/enriching in FME and then the feature writer to truncate and insert into the feature layer in AGOL.  The hosted feature layer also has a “View” as that is the portion that we would eventually show to the public.  The update is run weekly and is automated in AGE using FME Flow, which is also the goal for AGOL.  I am not a python wizard.  Does anyone have any suggestions or has anyone experienced the same issue and found the solution? Thanks,Peter

I got this error when trying to add attachments to AGO: The ArcGIS REST API returned an error: HTTP Error Code: 413 : '' Message Code . Further details: 'The page was not displayed because the request entity is too large.'Esri community has a solution to edit the header, but there’s no option to edit header on transformer? 

Hello FME-Communtiy,With the advent of the new IFC-Writer we wanted to update and hopefully slim down our FME Workspace, which reads Multipatch Geometries via an Esri Geodatabase (File Geodb) Reader and writes IFC-Features via an IFC XML/STEP (deprecated) writer. Sadly we’ve not managed to get the new writer working as needed and have found the documentation rather lackluster, which is why I’d appreciate any pointers from the knowledgeable people on here.The new workspace has managed to correctly export the feature geometries, but the attributes seem to be missing/not written at all. Inside the new Workspace the features have the correct attributes and values up until the very end where they are sent to the IFC-writer (In this Case I tried Slab as the Element Type, BuildingElementProxy gave the same results and SpatialZone doesn’t work at all anymore).New Workspace final export inside Data Inspector (red color intentional)Old Workspace final export inside Data InspectorIn the old Works

I understand there are 4 cadence releases per year, for example 2026.1.0 and then 2026.2 through to 2026.4 by the year end.2026.1 is the first release of 2026. Instead of starting at xxxx.0, it starts at xxxx.12026.2.0 (Major) 2026.2.1 (Update) 2026.2.2 (Update) 2026.3.0 (Major) 2026.3.1 (Update) 2026.3.2 (Update) 2026.4.0 (Major) 2026.4.1 (Update) 2026.4.2 (Update) My question is to a Safer is not about the major releases, rather regarding these updates.Can you simply install as a patch over the existing major, or is it a full install, 2026.1.2 sure appears to be full install media?Where is the documentation for installing patch hot fix to the existing flow installation directory? 

Hi,So I would like to try to work out a point source ID for point clouds based on continuous chunks of time. Basically separating out flightlines. For example, a point should has 30 points. The first 10 are collected in the first 10 seconds, then there is a gap of 1 minute before capture, and then another 10 are collected, then another minute gap, then the last points. So in this case I would like to determine a unique component value for each of the 3 time related groups.I think I can do this if I coerce the cloud to points. But that really isn’t efficient for billions of points.I also won’t know beforehand how many different continuous capture periods there are.Can anyone think of a way to do this? It’s pretty easy to do in lastools. But in this case I’d like to do it in FME. I don’t know any python which I presume could do it.I am ideally wanting this to work in version 2022, but I’m open to a newer version if that is the only chance of doing this.Thanks

I was looking to upgrade FME Flow 2024 to FME Flow 2026 and ended up getting an impassable situation. Newer versions of FME Form can be connected to FME Flow for the purpose of obtaining Deployment Parameter values at runtime:Given that FME Form is connected to Flow I was wondering if anyone knows of a way of obtaining details of that connection when a workspace is run in Form. It does not appear to be exposed anywhere.A workaround would be to create a Deployment Parameter in my Flow instances and reference that in Form but it seems there should be an out of the box solution to this.Specifically, what I want to do is to query the FME Flow API for the connected instance, without having to hard-code the FME Flow URL in the HTTPCaller.

Hi All,I’m trying to calculate volumes on meshes in a dgn file. The dgn file represents rail embankment / earthworks (ballast, formation, etc.). Below a screengrab of the design:My current workaround is DGN Reader → SurfaceBuilder → SolidBuilder → VolumeCalculator but am finding that some of the meshes are not closed. Before calculating any volume I need to close the meshes but can’t work it out,Any idea about how close the unclose meshes? Thanks!

I have a workbench with a RasterMosaicker that runs fine in 2021.2.6, but the same workbench throws an error in 2025.1 “Failed to mosaic the rasters”. Same error for version 2024.1.2.1.The error occurs only when setting the parameter “Overlapping Values” to “Composite Using Alpha Band”.Is there anything known causing issues regarding raster transformers in newer versions that might explain this?

When a database is updated using SpatialRelator, FeatureTypeFilter, and DatabaseUpdater Transformers from feature classes inherited from two different readers, the _relationship attribute disappears when the FeatureTypeFilter Update button is used. All DatabaseUpdater transformers are in the "incomplete transformer" status. When examining the DatabaseUpdater transformers, the _relationship values are red. Copying and pasting the same value fixes this. To avoid this issue, you must manually edit the FeatureTypeFilter, which is time-consuming.  

Hi,I was hoping to use the new IFC writer available in FME 2026.1 to update the IfcPresentationLayer attribute values from IFC to IFC.The idea was to disregard the current layers exported from Revit from others and define our own layer presentation for the models so we can turn certain layers on and off in our platform (Trimble Connect). I used the reader to load the IFC file (in 2x3 format), and it successfully retrieved all layer attributes into FME. However, I don’t seem to be able to write the updated layers.In fact, even without adding any transformers—just using the reader and writer from IFC to IFC—the layers are lost. So I’m wondering if anyone has had success using the latest FME reader and writer for rewrite the layersThanks!

Hi All, I’m sure this is very simple but I can’t seem to get it to work.I want to take the text body sent to my automation via a webhook and use it as the input to my workspace.So this would be the POST I’d then like to pass “this is not a test” into the workspace POST_test (below) so that I can process it further in the workspace. I imagine the issue is that I’m not defining where the information is coming from when entering the workspace, which is just a text file reader and text file writer for the purposes of this test.I followed this tutorial and can trigger the workspace using this method but I cannot get it to read the text directly from the body.Send Source Data to FME Flow with HTTP POST – FME Support CenterFurther searching suggested setting the source as a user parameter.I’ve tried to set the input as text string using a user parameter but this doesn’t remain in the reader after clicking ‘ok’.I’m using Flow 2024.0.5 and the V3 REST APITIA

Hi,I’m using FME Flow 2025.2.4.I have an FME Flow Automation which runs 4 workspaces. Each workspace takes an email address parameter (which will be the same value for each workspace).I would like to use the same Automation to run on a bi-weekly schedule but also allow it to be run on demand via an Automation App, so I have 2 triggers: Schedule and Manual When the Automation is run on Schedule it should pass a pre-defined email address to the workspaces.When the Automation is run manually via the Automation App the user needs to be able to provide an email address at runtime.Is this possible? Or do I need to create 2 separate Automations?I know I can create a manual parameter that gets passed from the manual trigger to the downstream workspaces but if I configure the workspaces to use this value it won’t exist when the Automation is run on schedule.Similarly, if I use an Automation Parameter for the workspaces when run on a schedule I can’t specify the value at runtime for the manual t

Hi,I’m looking for solutions to a problem that may not be solvable.I regularly need to refer to a spreadsheet from the NZ Electricity Authority (it’s open data).  At the moment I have to regularly download it from https://register.ea.govt.nz/ using the ‘Download’ button This downloads a dynamically time-stamped spreadsheet of the electricity industry participants and their relevant codes.I want to automate this with Form/Flow but this is a sticking point.  I’ve suggested to them that they expose this as a service for the industry, but the wheels move slowly if at all.Any idea on how to read, or more likely, automatically download this?  For the download I’m open to non-FME automations.Thanks

FME Form Excel writer warns of reserved characters, where none exist, in the names of my Named ranges and appends underscores to them. I am getting a lot of warnings similar the following:Excel Writer: Feature Type '/AH_4_3_Housed_Part_Time_Replacement' has been modified to '/AH_4_3_Housed_Part_Time_Replacement_' to avoid reserved characters for Named Ranges and Tables in Microsoft Excel This is unhelpful behaviour, can I avoid it?2025.2

I have configured all parameters on manage web services for Dropbox. But I am having to reauthenticate every time I run the workspace. What should I be checking? I also need to schedule it on Server. I am not being able to authorize it on Server as well. Any feedback is highly appreciated.

I am struggling to access data that I submit with a topic through the data streaming service inside my automation via the FME Flow Topic Trigger. I have successfully tried the FMEFlowNotifier transformer just to see if I could get that working, but it does not fit in line with what I am trying to do which is to post to topics on success or failure at the end.This is what the service properties looks like: Service PropertiesAnd the JSON writer: JSON WriterI have tried access the properties both using {job_id} and {data.job_id} but the translation log shows that it uses those values as is.Value ExampleOne of the key issues I have is that I need to set the values to a custom attributes because the parameters I am using them for are number type and it won’t let me type something non-numeric. Custom Attributes on FM

Hello everyone,I looked at thread DGN writer RGB color | Community and I am dealing with the same problem.Ideally I would like to get the RGB color (true values) instead of the colorindex from the color table.I read in the above thread that true color should be available from FME Form 2023 on, but I still get the index number from the color table. Iam using FME Form 2024.2.1 by the way.I do the following thingI have a dgn styler configurated as follows in the Writer I use a seedfile with RGB values for the layers Output is    Am I doing somethign wrong or are true colors not yet available in FME 2024.2.1?

I am using the “StringReplacer” transformer to replace commas with line breaks.My attribute value looks like this:ANGLE: von 115.65130615 auf 116,ident: von --- auf ON,ADRESSCODE: von 6 aufI tried replacing , with \n, but it does not create a new line.How can I correctly insert line breaks in FME? 

Hi FME’ers,Recently I wanted to set up FME Flow to receive notifications from a notification service. My initial thought was to use an Automation with a Webhook trigger. Unfortunately this didn't work, because I couldn't register the Webhook URL in the external notification service, because it resulted in a validation error. After further investigation, it turned out that the notification service was set up using the Guidelines for NL-GOV profile CloudEvents 1.0. In 3.1.3 Abuse protection it's indicated thatThe validation request uses the HTTP OPTIONS methodFor this purpose, I thought about using the new Data Virtualization functionality of FME Flow, and found this article Webhook Verification Using Data Virtualization that looks very promising for my usecase. When I had a further look though, it seemed to me that the the HTTP OPTIONS method isn't supported for Data Virtualization endPoints (it appears that only GET, POST, PUT and DELETE are supported).See also this page on the Web Use

We are implementing a CI/CD pipeline for FME Flow using an Azure YAML pipeline. When exporting an FME project from DEV with deployment parameters enabled under Advanced Options, those parameters overwrite the values in ACC and PRD during deployment. If the same project is imported manually, this issue does not occur.Is this a known bug in the FME Flow API? Or is there a recommended way to prevent deployment parameters from being overwritten during automated deployments?Additional details:If all advanced options are manually unchecked, deployments work as expected. The token used for the pipeline requires full permissions (fmesuperuser); otherwise, roles cannot be deployed. Restricting permissions or deployment parameter rights results in nothing being deployed.FME Flow version we have is 2024.1.2Any insights or best practices would be appreciated!

Hi,I am having difficulties using the revit styler. I am feeding it 50 point features which get their own individual rotation value. But when I check the objects in revit, the rotation is slightly off. Sometimes by 20 degrees sometimes more. When i compare the correct angle in revit and compare it to the value i have in FME, I can see that they are correct but something is happening either when I use the revit styler or the writer that messes upp the rotation. I am rotating around the axis x= 0, y=0, Z=1. Any ideas why it is behaving like that? Am i missing some setting somewhere? Thanks for all advice! 

Hi!I am using the Geometry Parameter to let the users draw their area of interest on FME Flow and then download the respective map. However, after publishing to FME Flow, I don’t see the map for the selection, nor am I able to turn it on in any way.I saw that usually there should be a map icon to the left of the text, which would open a map and let me draw a polygon of my AOI. What is the problem? I am using FME 2026.2.0.0 20260401 - Build 26291 and FME Flow 2026.1.1 Build 26121 (which should be compatible).
