Hello, the workspace is close to “Creating CityGML Solitary Vegetation Object | Community” but without the issues. I would like to randomly rotate the instances along the Z axis. Dimensions are set as in the first matrix shown below. When I use the last row to rotate, as shown in the second matrix below, the rotation is ignored and dimensions change. I tried the rotators, and the 3D affiner after defining the matrix to no good results. It seems that CityGML only looks at the transformation matrix.  Any advise or workaround to force instance’s rotation is appreciated. When writing 3-point arcs to Oracle Spatial with a projected coordinate system, FME 2020 (64-bit) can maintain their geometries as arcs. When writing arcs to Oracle Spatial with a geographic coordinate system, however, FME strokes the arcs into lines. Is it possible to write the arcs to a geographic coordinate system without converting them to lines?

I’ve got some JSON data where the key/value pairs are separated so the keys are in one JSON block and the values in another (see the example below). I’m using:A JSONExtractor to get the "columns" fragment and then a StringReplacer and AttributeSplitter to convert it to a list. A JSONFragmenter to convert the "values" to a list. A PythonCaller to loop through the two lists and create the attributes.Is there a way to do this without python? Hi there,I tried to write some data to a ArcGIS Portal feature service using the new writer.  It skipped my feature as globalid was NULL, missing or empty:So i fell back to the old writer and this writes features fine. It sees that globalids are read-only and ignores them, along with the other ArcGIS server managed fields:I imported the same layer from the feature service using the writer - import layer approach, and fed the same data into both of them in the same workspace.  One works, one doesn’t.Am I missing something?Thanks,Marc

I was hoping someone who understands how FeatureHolder works can let me know if I can use it successfully to help with an issue I am having. I have some workspaces on flow that had been working as expected for well over a year but recently I have had two separate ones glitch on me in the span of a few weeks.I am not 100% sure what went wrong but from looking at the log, the portal feature service reader did not read in all of the records from the table. Looking through the log, I see a line that indicates the metadata fme is accessing lists the correct number of records in the table. However, the summary shows that for that run, it actually read in less than that number.I have not yet identified what caused the reader to behave this way in these two instances. My question is:If I put a feature holder right after the reader, will that solve this problem? Will it make the workspace wait until all of the records are read in? (i.e. the number read in matches the number it was given by the

2024.2 (24820) I am building a self serve workspace app for flow. the user will drag and drop a dwg onto the app.The workspace will convert the mapped drive to UNC and use that for a featurereader.prior to the featurereader the path will go through the filenamepartextractor. The output is NOT exactly the same location as input, and changes certain parts depending on the file dragged and dropped by the user. I use the source name in the filenamepartextractor and then build the output folder (which may or may not exist in full or in part). Then there are 3 types of files to output to that folder.I currently have the output dwg name built by hardwiring the filename and extension. The form workbench runs successfully with no output in the destdataset which is set as the output attribute for the filename. there is however a file in the workspace folder named @Value(DestDataset) with no extension. Tested by renaming this file and adding dwg extension (which opened correctly in autocad). Why

FME 2021.2.6 (no possibility to update)I have a complex FME workspace with about 10 Feature Readers for different databases. For development, it’s essential to use feature caching. However, when running the workspace, the caching must be turned off. My current method to release an update:Update the dev-workspace Copy the dev-workspace to the production location Open the production workspace and disable caching for each Feature Reader manually Launch the production workspace through a .bat file (that executes multiple procedures, one of them being the workspace)I would much prefer to pass “enable feature caching” as a parameter in the .bat file to avoid opening and alterting the readers everytime I update the workspace. Am I missing out on a more efficient option here? I could probably pass the timeout time as a user parameter and set it to a very low value (e.g., 1s). However, I assume this will severely impact performance, so I want to turn off caching all the way. Please correct me,

Hey,I am mega confused with something that I thought would be relatively simple. I have a Survey123 feature layer in ArcGIS Online that automatically places survey points at 0 lat 0 long (west coast of Africa). What I would like to do is read the Survey layer into FME, geocode the data via an address attribute, and then write back the geometry updates to the layer without altering the attribute table at all. I can do all of that fine except for the final Write/update operation.I have confirmed that the layer in AGOL is editable and allows for Updates (attributes and geometry). I have the correct AGOL permissions to do these edits. In the parameters for my AGOL Writer, I have the Layer settings as: Update, Use Existing, Update Spatial Column = Yes. The operation completes successfully, but then when I check AGOL it appears that the layer’s geometry has disappeared. The table attributes are there, but no geometry is present.I can also see that AGOL recognizes some change to the data sinc

I’m using an HTTPCaller to applyEdits using ESRI’s REST API. It includes sending along some JSON to add to a table in a feature service. The workspace runs successfully testing with 1 or 2 records in the JSON parameter, which is all sent with a single HTTP call, but fails when testing with 10 records. It looks like FME is truncating the HTTP string, which causes the request to fail. That’s what it looks like in the FME log anyway; the query string appears on two lines (see attached screenshot). If I try applyEdits in a web browser at the REST endpoint and paste the JSON in manually, I can add the data without issue. Is there a parameter or formatting change I need to make to keep FME from truncating the HTTP call? (FME Desktop/Form 2023.2.2.0, build 23764)

I am trying to automate the conversation of a large series of CAD drawings to save the data to be used in ArcGIS Floor Aware apps.One of the criteria is to have levels / floors in a building sorted in vertical order, with the ground floor as 0 and increasing by one for each floor above the ground and decrease by one for each floor below the ground.Unfortunately my data has inconsistent naming for floors. With some having a Lower Ground (LG) and or basement (B). There are also some that have a messanine (M) between Ground (G) and Level 1 (L1). To top it off there is a Roof (R) in some.So my problem is that I need to sort the list of floors in such a way that I can get the vertical order, both positive and negative,  centred around Ground as 0 where it exists. Does anyone have suggestions on how to tackle this?Here are a couple of examples and the vertical order needed.   B, G, M, L1, L2, R => -1, 0, 1, 2, 3, 4B, LG, G, L1, L2, L3 => -2, -1, 0, 1, 2, 3LG, L1, L2, R => -1, 0, 1,

I have a folder of old aerial imagery tiles with .txg georeference file. Inside .txg file, there are coordinates of the four corner. I can manually copy those corner coordinates into the RasterGeoreferencer transformer, but is there any way to automate this process and mosaic all tiles into one raster?

I have been using FME Workbench 2022.2 and just now upgraded to FME Workbench 2025.1.  What I have noticed is:In 2022.2 → Generate Workspace → Convert multiple files in any format into ESRI Shape format. I had no issues doing this.In 2025.1 → Generate Workspace → Convert multiple files in any format into ESRI Shape format.  I get an error: “Unable to perform any licensing related tasks. I’m looking to read in a load of word documents that contain tables of information. I’d like to extract all the text from those tables so that I can then search the text for specific information. I’ve tried using the Microsoft Word Reader and the MSWordStyler but I’m only seeing the paragraph text come through to the attributes. Any ideas how to extract the table text?  

I have a RUN_DATE field in a File Geodatabase Feature Class Attribute Table. In this field is the current date (today’s date). I want to use a Tester after the DateTimeConverter Transformer to select only the values in the RUN_DATE field that are today’s date. I have tried this and get no passes, all failed. I am trying to both add and update Equipment to CityWorks using the HTTPCaller - it seems to work fine except for custom fields.  They do not seem to add or update with the equipment record. Hello,I have encountered some issues with a workspace that I have not seen addressed previously in the forum. The issue concerns exporting to an SQL server database where the file format is interpreted as GeometryCollection when it is essentially only MultiPolygon at most.This is what my workflow has looked like. I have a workspace that retrieves line segments from an SQL server, which are then combined and the attributes processed. These lines are generalized and buffered to form areas. I then use Dissolver to merge overlapping areas with a Group By function based on a common ID (the field INSATSNR in my screenshot). However, there are several areas with the same ID that are located in different geographical locations and do not overlap. Therefore, I use an Aggregator with a Group By function on the same ID. Hello, its me again.So I’m playing with changing excel documents in Form 2024.1 and its going superb, except from the fact that when Form writes out my changed excel it adds an @ in front of some of the formulas. So for example the formula that gets read in as:=XLOOKUP(blabla)Gets written out as:=@XLOOKUP(blabla)Which then makes the whole outcome excel document breaks.I have ran this with caching and see that at last cache before writing then the formulas are intact, so this must happen in the writer or that the excel gets written out in some manner that my excel setup *misunderstands* it?As always, all comments are welcomed (as long as you not a person just looking to score some points by copy/pasting what AI said the problem was).-Hlynur

Hello yet again.This time I am experimenting with a complex Microsoft Excel document, its basically a calculation file that contains quite a lot of sheets, macros, references and formulas. Idea is that instead of sharing the excel document with the people that need to use it that I would just host it on our Flow, people would then have an option to fill out some published parameters in a flow app and then get a single excel sheet returned with their results (cutting out all the underlying datasheets and formulas and macros etc).Or to sum it up: I have a complex excel with formulas, read that excel in FME, change values in cells in FME, write out an excel from FME that would then recalibrate/recalculate based on those changed values.So I have figured out how to single out cells in the excel table where (basically using counter, and tester for that single number, link to attribute manager where the new value can be inserted to replace the old one, back to a FeatureMerger to put the new v
