Hello, I saved some information and coordinates to a PostgreSQL-DB from a php-form. beside this process the website will send an email to the fme server 2015 to start a workbench which perform some clipping with the coordinates and also save some more information to the postgresql. finaly the workbench send me an email for success. Thats the plan.  I didn't understand how to configure the fme server to start the workbench after receiving the email? Thanks for any advice. Lencer

Hi, I have a workbench which mainly converts form Autocad to Geofatabase API writer, Area builder transformer was used in this workbench and it appears that it removes the fields such as FME/Autocad color, and I couldn’t figure out what the best method to hold them, what is the best practice to attain this job?   Thanks Ahmad Saleh

HI there,  I've been running this workbench of my colleague for 2 weeks now and seems to be taking forever to finish. The command dialog box (becase its being called out from python using os.system, very crude method at the moment) is still up and updating but like in a very painfully slow manner. I've checked the temp file and one file is still being updated,  FME_OBJC_SpatialMultiGrids_MasterGrids_.........._1  I dont want to end it because it might waste some data that has been created. Im just not sure why its so slow.  Any tips will be appreciated.  Regards, Chris

Sometimes the actions do not result in a change in the attribute  I am interested in, so there are 'duplicate' entries. However I want to keep those duplicates where they appear either side of a status change.  So in the above examples I'd end up with  A 1 STARTED A 2 IN PROGRESS A 4 PAUSED A 5 IN PROGRESS A 7 COMPLETE A 1 STARTED B 2 IN PROGRESS B 5 COMPLETE  I know how to do this in excel but I'm struggling to find a way to repeat it within FME 

I'm in the process of doing a histogram match for two images. So far, I've been able to do some statistics on the levels of grey, histogram the values, and in an external python script, determine new values per value of grey. i.e the reference value of 1 might be value 10 in the target image.  Can the Raster expression evaluator or another transformer conduct a test to read the the value of a pixel and reassign it a new value. For example if i'm looking at the red channel, IF pixelvalue == 1 ? pixelvalue = 20 : (IF pixelvalue == 2) ? pixelvalue = 30 etc etc...  Maybe this needs to involve pallettes?   

I have a CAD which contains the height contour lines (no coordination system included). I want to create an esri ASCII grid. Till now I have made this grid by NumericRaster and the next step is to project, or rescale if necessary, the raster to the right location. How can I do that?  Or maybe my whole process is not correct?  Thanks

Hello everyone, i think i got a simple task but i seem stuck on it  i have an excel workbook with 100 sheets, with every sheet i would like to create a table in MYSQL  every table has different headers and amount of headers, i can read every sheet as an "indivudual feature type" and connect/dis-connect the wires from the MariaDB writer and this works, but when i use a merged feature type i only get one element, i am fanning out by fme_feature_type to get the correct naming of the table   any help on working with this would be great, thanks!

Hi All, I've two shpae files with only geometries and like to delete feature from the first one that contains into the second one. The condition for deleting is there two feautures (feature 1 from file1 and feauture 2 from file 2) are equals.   Thanks an advance.  FarFar

Hello All, FME 2015.1 fails to produce the expected results, I have developed a workbench that mainly convert hatches form AutoCAD to polygons (Esri Geodatabase (File Geodb API)) writer. But the FME fails to write the polygons correctly, In the attached AutoCAD file I have one single hatch that should be transformed to a polygon and stored in a feature class, after running the workbench I found that the FME fills an empty gap with an extra polygon.        Link to download the workbench and the autocad file http://www.mediafire.com/download/3axz2lccdnn0d3d/CADToGIS.zip  Best regards, Ahmad Saleh

Hi all, I have a table in Excel that looks like (I have added he Case rows to make it clearer):   I have been asked to concatenate fields when for the same site there are two different countries or two different regions or both, as follows:    Does anyone have an idea of how I could achieve that in FME so that I can get the concatenation done for the three cases?

Hi  I'm sure I should get this, but I seem to have a mental block, maybe Friday afternoon related. I have a string attribute where some of the features contain a comma as the last character which I want to get rid of. What's the most effective way of doing this? Thanks, Riley

Hello everyone,  I want to add geometries from one feature to another and change their geometry_name. I have a base feature "VerticalStructure" which has a list of geometries (Polygone) (part{}.VerticalStructurePart.extent). But this "VerticalStructure" also contains geometries for LightElements (part{}.VerticalStructurePart.lighting{}.LightElement.location). So I created another feature called "VerticalStructureLightElement" (Point), and set the geometry (lighting{}.LightElement.location)  After creating both geometries I thougt I could use an Aggregator to add the geometries from "VerticalStructureLightElement" to "VerticalStructure". But somehow i am stuck. I want to rename all "VerticalStructureLightElement" geometries to part{}.VerticalStructurePart.lighting{}.LightElement.location to add the lightElement geometry to every item of part{}. I also tried the FeatureMerger, but then most geometries get lost.  Does someone kno

Hey yall... I posted my caller script below. I have a multi-part polyline with junction points along the line. I'd like to measure the distance of each junction points along the line from a single source point feature. All parts flow away from the source already. I am also trying to determine the length of each part from the starting point to the end point of each segment that branches off from the junction points. ..

Hi all,   I have a simple question I guess. I have multiple , 700,  files to runn though a FME file and I tried to use a second workbench with a WorkspaceRunner. But I do not have any output!  What should be the valuse for the Destination parameters? I tried Path-Windows/Path-Unix but rather than writing the output in the target folder it write on my input files.   Any guidance is appreciated!  

Hi,  I am trying to do a really basic function.  I have a CAD file which i add an attribute to and populate with the fme_basename. I then have an EXCEL that contains the fme_basename and also another field called 'DESCRIPTOR'  basically what i want to do it a test where FME says If the fme_basename = the Basename from excel then populate new field with the value from descriptor. I have used an attribute creator with a conditional value but does not seem to work?

Hi all,  FIgured I'd ping this forum before looking elsewhere, but here's a question:  In an effort to provide data to the enterprise, we'd like to let them know when tables they are pulling were last updated. They will be pulling tables from SQL Server.  Is it possible to either write or update rows in a 'data status' table, or is there another method out there of creating/providing this data?  Thanks!!!  -m

Using ESRI's Data Interoperability Extention (FME 2012 SP1), I've built a tool which creates an excel file that summarizes water utility information in each of our service areas. As you can see in the screenshot below, the tool gives me length of water lines based on each combination of diameter & material in each service area. Also, the first row for each service area lists the square footage of polygon features in each service area and the quantity of point features in each service area.   The issue I'm running into now is with the polygon features (Casing & ThrustProtection in this case) having blank cell values in the first row of each service area. I believe the reason their cell values are blank is because we don't have any of those polygon features in these particular service areas in our data. Ideally though, these cell values would be zero instead of blank. So in the screenshot above, cells H2, I2, & I15 would be zero instead of blank. All the rest

Hi, I have an FME workspace that includes a Python start-up script used to download some zip files from a website:  import urllib # Get Mining tenement zip files. urllib.urlretrieve ("http://geodownloads.dmp.wa.gov.au/datacentre/download/mineral_inf/tenements.zip", save_path + "tenements.zip")  The script works fine in FME Desktop, but fails when run by FME Server with the error:  Error executing string `import urllib  Any ideas what the problem could be?  Thanks Dave LL

Hi all, I know this might be a very simple question but I am pretty biggener.   I have a FME file with DWG input and output the objective is to cleanup the DWG archive.  I have lots of overlayer/overlap line on line. I want to get rid of the short one and just keep the long one. Is there a way for this?  I thought to split the lines with he intersection point but at the end I will have some join lines with lots of vertexces. However, I want to have one line with one start and one end point.   I appreciate your help,

Hi,  I've created a workspace to read and manipulate XML data and append the output to a csv file. Then I've gone through the batch deploy wizard to create and batch and tcl script to process all XML files (700+). Then I modify my batch script so that it runs with FME 64 bit instead of 32 bit.  Now the script is running, but can I add some parameter to see how many files are already processed? Like before it starts reading a new XML file that it outputs like: " 3/700"? because now it's not easy to see how far it's gone through the files.
