I'm getting the following message:  CSV Reader: Invalid schema directive value 'number<comma>15<comma>0<comma>number<comma>4<comma>...The expected syntax is SCHEMA <typename1>,<width1>,<precision1>,...<typenameN>,<widthN>,<precisionN>.  Using schema scanner instead  As you can see, no typenames are being furnished.  This happens reading a pipe- or tab-delimited CSV file.  User Attributes are parsed and assigned correctly when opening the reader properties, so I don't understand the error.  Also why all the <comma> indicators instead of a literal ','?  Later on, I'm getting many attribute could not be written errors associated with certain attributes. The containing feature has been dropped...outputs, writing to a file geodatabase as a dynamic writer.  Where can I go from here and/or what am I doing wrong with my simple csv -> file geodatabase translation?

I have a bunch of raster KMZs that I want to conver to another raster format like geotiff. I inserted a geometry filter to just filter out the raster to write to geotiff. When I write out one file as a test, I am getting 17 different raster images as output. Why is this and how can I just get one image file as output? I tried to use mosaic raster before writing out to geotiff but it did not give a good result.

Hi,  If I define a published parameter for a custom transformer, a menu button always appears in side of the parameter input box.   I want to hide or disable the menu button; the interface like Copy Number Attribute of the Cloner is what I want.   Is there a way? Thanks in advance.  Takashi

I have an FME workspace I run monthly. It compares old data with current data. The old data is usually last month's data with the date stamp as part of the name. Because the feature type changes each time, I want to be prompted to select it. I can't simply use feature types to read because new feature types are being added to the file geodatabase each month (i.e. - it's not a static list). I need FME to read all the feature types in the file geodatabase at runtime and then prompt me to select one. Is there a way to do so? (Win7 64-bit, FME 2014, Build 14230, 32-bit).  Thanks,  Aaron Albuquerque, NM

I saw the post about "how to convert a tiff and a world file into a geotiff file". Call me lazy but I'm no FME hotshot. I have a lot on my plate and I need to convert a tiff and world file into a geotiff in a short amount of time. Any chance you could provide me with the actual solution to do this conversion?    

I have installed FME Server 2014 and would like to set up the data distribution html / js / css files as in the demo at http://demos.fmeserver.com/datadistribution-googlemaps/index.html. However, I can't find the web root of the FME Server Web Application Server. Where is it, such that when I go to:  http://myhost:8080/fmeserver/datadistribution.html   ...I wil find that datadistribution.html page?  Thanks

I want to map the version last updated date from the metadata to a new field in the feature class.  When you save a feature class as an ESRI layer file it also creates an xml file in the same location.  Previously I would locate the feature class as a layer file saved in my local directory then read in the XML file using an XML reader, flatten the metadata and set the elements to match to 'metadata'  Then I can easily locate the attribute that contains the version date etc - and map this right over to a new field in a feature class.  But now where I have feature classes in SDE not saved as layer files I was wondering if there was any way of following this same process? How do I read that XML and after reading it, how would I carry out the xml flattening and elements to match when it is not using an XML reader?   Thanks

Dear FME users.  I want to write TIN surface into CityGML as TINRelief (tin) and I am not sure how to do that.  I am using in the CityGML GeometrySetter the following parameters:  CityGML Lod name: extent Feature Role: reliefComponent  Since there there is no option to select lod I set citygml_level_of_details to '0'. Hope that is fine.  Finally I am setting CityGML writer Feature Type Name as ReliefFeature.  When I run the workspace CityGMLWriter gives me this worning:  CityGMLWriter registered 1 messages of type:  The 'extent' citygml_lod_name trait is invalid for 'ReliefFeature' features, the geometry will be ignored, valid values are {}.  and there is no geometry being outputed into CityGML file.  I would appreciate any help very much.  Thank you.  Regards, barani

Is there a way to protect the login page for FME Server 2014? I would like to allow login only from localhost, that is, on the machine itself. You can do stuff like this with Apache. Is it possible with FME Server 2014?  Thanks

I have an awful lot of small esri ascii grid rasterfiles (11215 objects) wich I try to group into larger units - from 250x250m squares to 2500x2500m squares. The solution eludes me though. I first tried to use rastermosaicker for all the parts but the resulting gridfile became larger than its 2.1Gb format spec so instead I opted to use areaonarea overlayer according to this picture    Unfortunately only the polygon clipfile remains after AreaOnAreaOverlayer, I guess the transformer only works on vector data.  How can I do this?

Hello, I've been asked to provide our AutoCad users with an up to date copy of OS MasterMap in DWG format.  I have MasterMap in it's original GZ format or MapInfo TAB.  To complicate matters these users have been used to having their mapping available in 1km tiles.  I have managed to do a straight conversion from TAB to DWG but the output file is over 300Mb so I would like to know whether FME can be used to also tile the output into smaller individual files?  I've had a look at the Tiler and whilst this does tile the output it's all still in a single file (which doesn't help me).  To further complicate this I would then ideally like to name the output files by their tile reference, e.g. SH6050.  I could revert back to the old piece of software that I used to use for this process but I would prefer to move this onto FME if possible.  Many thanks

In a spreadsheet I need to compare the value of an attribute in record 1 to the same attribute in record 2, then move on to compare record 2 with 3, then 3 with 4 and so on.  What is the best method?  Cheers,

Hi,  I'm trying to overwrite a feature in a file geodatabase but i always get the same error  Geodatabase Error (-2147024894): The system cannot find the file specified. Could not open File Geodatabase dataset `P:\\vmmGeoDB\\IND.gdb' for writing.  Am i missing something? Whe i try to do the same thing with af shp it works fine.  The intention is to write a shp to a fgdb.  Can somebody help me?  Thx!        

I would like to do what has been beautifully described on the following blog.  The issue is that I currently have FME2013SP1 and the blog is using newer transformers (NullAttributeMapper and newer functionality of FeatureMerger)     http://fme-memorandum-takashi.blogspot.ca/2014/02/merge-two-lists-so-that-elements-will.html    I am looking for suggestions on how to get the same results but by using what is available in FME2013SP1 (until I am able to get 2014 installed).    Thank you

Hi, I wonder if you can help me, I have a series of polygons (fields) which are aggregated based on a farm name and I ned to create subs sites for fields that are over 50 m apart from one another.  My first thoughts were to use the deaggregator, followed by buffers and spatial relators to achieve this. However, I want to preserve the field boundaries (i.e. not have the output buffered) and I'm unsure what I would group the aggregation by?  I've tried using a test filter to separate the isolated fields (no other fields within 50 m), so that I can aggreagate the remaining fields but there are a number of cases where a farm has more than one subsite with multiple fields  Any ideas?  Thanks, Ed

I use the reprojector to transform a MapInfo table from WGS84 to EPSG:3857 to perform some area calculation in meters and then I wrote the table in WGS84 using the writer coordinate system option.  When I copied some features from a backup table that was created before the preceding process into that output table, I see that some nodes are not snapped anymore, just like if nodes were moved very slightly.  I suspect the reprojection could maybe round the coordinates. Is it something someone have already experienced?

I have a workbench set up in FME 2014 that makes use of dynamic schema to convert a large number of TAB files into shapefiles as wekk as reproject them into a different coordinate system.  However there are certain tab files that are corrupt and so when I run the workbench it keeps failing. Is there a way to get the workbench to skip the files that are corrupt?
