Hi,  I was wondering if there is a way to make FME use more CPU? I have workflow with GML Reader and Multiple SQL Server Non-Spatial Writers. Multiple writers are there because I need to insert into identity columns in four different tables parts of transformed GML data. Here FME is reading GML and writing it into SQL Server by using 10-13% of CPU. How can I make it use e.g. 70-80%? Memory occupied bu FME is also 500-700MB.  How does this work?

What does the "Match All Attributes" setting of the Attribute Matching Strategy in the ChangeDetector mean? I have two shapefiles that are exactly the same except that I have changed a value in one of the attributes of one of the shapefiles.  If I select "Match Selected Attributes" and check the attribute in question, the ChangeDetector does pick up the change.However, when I select "Match All Attributes", none of the features match. Because I'm running this workspace with different feature sources, I want the ChangeDetector to automatically "Match All Attributes".  Thanks

Hi all,  At the moment, I have workspace using XMLTemplater to make desired GML, and after that sending it to text writer to write a file. I saw that there is GML writer that supports user specified schemas. Does someone has an workbench example using this writer? I want to read data from SQL Server Non-Spatial stored procedures and, after transforming them, write them into GML file.  Thanks!

I'm using a geometry coercer to coerce a polygon to a line followed by a point on area overlayer to chop  the line/boundary into segments.  In some cases the start/end point of the original polygon leads to two segments/line features being created either side of the original start/end point where I only want to have one. I can compare the resulting segments to the original start/end point choose to join the two together to get the correct number of segments but in some cases the start/end point aligns with a point I am chopping at, i.e. features either side of the start/end point should remain as separate line features.  Any ideas?

Hi. I have a point cloud surface and a polylinez that runs along the surface and occasionaly crosses it. I would like to cut/clip the line into pieces where it crosses ie runs above or below the surface. I've tried using the tin generator and the clipper – it doesn't seem to work for me.  

Hi all I'd like to set up a data download service with a custom destination directory; I want to be able to write the output zip file to a specific Amazon S3 bucket and have the download link sent in the notification email to point there. I've got the service up and running on a FME Cloud test instance, but will need to modify the output location. Anyone know how to do that?  Do you have to modify the FME_SERVER_DEST_DIR? Thanks Rob

Hi,  I am trying to read an xml file with Feature_reader transformer (FMEDesktop 2015 64b) and I always get this error:  A fatal error has occurred. Check the logfile above for details: ... invalid byte '”' at position 1 of a 1-byte sequence XML Parser error: 'invalid byte '”' at position 1 of a 1-byte sequence' A fatal error has occurred. Check the logfile above for details. ...  If i read it with with XML reader there is no problem at all. But as I need to read a whole folder with a set of xml files i will need to do it with the feature reader (reading the path)  It would be a great help if someone could help me. Thanks in advance, Antonio Armas

Hello all,  FME (and Autocad) noob here.  I am trying to convert a few thousand small DWG files to SVG. This works well with the Real DWG reader and SVG writer; however, I am having difficulty finding a way to set the SVG line width and polygon fill colors from the respective autocad format attributes. Any way I can achieve this without manually writing SVG-tags?  Cheers Götz

Hi all,  Is there a possibilty to write geodesic Data to an AIXM Writer? Now I use the GeometryPropertySetter Transformer, but it creates a LinearRing instead of a GeodesicString. I found an entry in the fme wiki about geometry builders: xml-geodesic-string (http://docs.safe.com/fme/2013/html/FME_ReadersWriters/Default.htm#xml/xml_geodesic_string.htm): is non-composite builder that interpolates a sequence of geodesic control points into a line geometry. Is fmeobjects mandatory while using pythoncaller, or can i run python scripts from pythoncaller transformer without importing fmeobjects?

Hello everybody !  I think the transformer pointconnector don't work normal. I try to connect point from 2 tables which have the same fid. But the transformer can't accept this and there is no error visible on log.  i tried a sorter to classifiy fid in the same order befor transformer but no way.    Also i tried to make same type and same encoding (utf-8) of  fid in both table but no way too.  I checked the correspondance of fid and nothing wrong.  Thanks for Help.

Hi,  I've created a workspace that reads from six tables in a PGDB file and does mutliple types of validation on each. I have set a global variable at the start of the process to 1 and each failure path writes what went wrong to an error log table in our database. The failure paths also set my global variable to 0. These all connect to a VariableRetriever then a Tester to see if ther were any failures.  What I would like is if even a single feature failed along the way, the workspace writes a failed status to the database using the SQLExecutor and stops. If nothing failed, it continues and writes the PGDB features to the database. The issue here is that the Tester outputs all failed features, so would execute the SQLExecutor multiple times and I just want it to run once.  Is there a way for the SQLExecutor to only run once, even with multiple features being input, or a way to remove the features so only one is passed in?  Thanks, Nick

I have an address table where each address point is classified into 1 of about 500 classification codes. I need to reclassify / condense this into just 10 codes: 1 = Code R% = Residential 2 = Code C% = Commercial 3 = Code CE% = Educational 4 = Code CX% = Emergency Services ...etc., where % is a wildcard character  I have tried a couple of transformers, but most don't support wildcards, so the 'best' option so far I have come up with is 10 pairs of Tester+AttributeCreator transformers in sequence. My feeling is that there may be an easier way. Is there?  (Note: I am aware of the overlap in codes. The second line classes all lines starting with C as Commercial, but then the third line reclassifies those starting with CE as Educational)

I have FME Desktop Professional Edition 2015.0 (64-bit) installed and am trying to read an ESRI Personal Geodatabase (.mdb), but it is not available as one of my Reader formats. Am I understanding correctly from this page that I cannot, whilst the 32-bit version can: https://knowledge.safe.com/articles/Samples_and_Demos/Notes-on-FME-and-ESRI-Versions-and-Compatibility#toc5 ?  Is there some other way I can read an ESRI Personal Geodatabase (.mdb) using my version of FME, e.g. by downloadable plugin?

Hi, I have a workspace whcih I would like to open in my FME 2015. The worksapce was made in an older version and comes out blank if i klick yes to continue in the warning pop up. How can i open my workspace? /Caroline  

Hello  I use FME 2015.1.1 to create a GeoPackage. I write the data with dynamic settings and the result seems OK, if I use a SQLite tool to inspect the *.gpkg file.  Now when I want to open it in ArcGIS 10.2.2 I first need to run a special ESRI extension function from SQLite3 command line in order to be able to acces it from ArcMap. OK so far, but a bit of unwanted fiddling i.m.h.o.  Then I can view the vector data in ArcMap fairly well. Good so far.  Now problems start when I want to view tables without geometry. I cannot do that from ArcMap and when I use ArcCatalog it behaves as if tables are empty. I can see the contents of these tables in SQLite tools however.  Has anyone out there tried similar things or collected some experience with GeoPackage format ? Will this improve in ArcGIS 10.3 ? Can I change something in FME writing in order to enable alphanumeric tables ?  My impression is, that despite official claims by ESRI the support for GeoPackage is a bit limited so far ?  Thank

I have about 3500 8-bit RGB geotiffs with black borders. I use the Clipper to remove/define the pixels that are outside my polygons to NoData. In combination with the RasterBandNodataSetter.  But when I use 0 as a value it also removes black pixels in my map. The same with 255, it also removes white from my map. I can't find a proper value to use without losing pixels in my map/raster.  Any suggestions for this? thanks!

I'm having trouble using the XMLFragmente in conjunction with a HttpFetcher. The results of my httpget are correctly stored in an attribute with ISO-8859-1 encoding.  However, fragments generated by the XMLFragmenter seem to be UTF-16 encoded and I can't find a way to keep the transformer from changing the encoding.  Anyone have a good idea on how to change that?  Thanks!

Hi all,  This is the situation: I have 2 lines (red and green) and a lot of points who should be matched to one or 2 of the lines. This works fine with the neighbourfinder but only in the cases where the lines aren't equal to each other. In the cases 16-3, 7-6, 8-5 and 9-4 the points who should be matched are on the same location and the lines are at that spot also equal to each other (I know it's a bad drawing but otherwhise it would be confusing :) )  If I do this with the neigborfinder (combined with list exploder) I get too much information (I'll explain with 1 point as its the same case for all points) in scenario 8-5 (circled in blue) I get information on point 8 from the red and green line and in point 5 I also get information on the red and green line while the situation I want to get is red information on point 8 and green information on point 5.  I need to find a way to get the right information out of it. I have a list of features, and I want to output a permutation of all combinations of two and two list members to a csv file. Example: Feature 1 List{0} = 11 List{1} = 22 List{3} = 33 Feature 2 List{0} = 44 List{1} = 55 ....more features  Should produce this csv-file: 11, 22 11, 33 22, 11 22, 33 33, 11 33, 22 44, 55    Remark: This is feature 2 55, 44 ....  The lists seem to be fine, I can use AttributeExposer and output single items. So my challenge is to output the combinations while not knowing before rruntime how many list members there are (will most often be 2, and generally less than 4).  I have been experimenting with listExploder to give me one line per list member, but it leaves me with the combination problem. I'm new to FME, so a suggestion of appropriate transformers would be appreciated. Thank,s. Regards Erik

Hi All,  Hopefully this is a quick question. Basically I have a bunch of 8 polygons, with no attributes. Basically I want to add a ID to each of these, but taking into account their location to each other. I.e. ID 1 should be next to ID 2 etc, similar to the image I mocked up below.  The Counter just randomly assigns an ID, but not in order. Similar with the GOIDGenerator.  The only other thing I have that links the polygons is a line feature, also seen in the image, which either Crosses or Touches each polygon. This line is orientated running from North to South, however in other instances this could be any orientation, so I can't try and extract centre points etc from polygons.      I'm almost certain I don'e something like this before, but can't remember how, and it has me stumped!  Cheers, Tony
