Dynamically read and write an sde table

Hi All, First of all, tanks for reading my post. FME Desktop 2022.2Objective: Using the Feature Reader I’m trying to dynamically have a user input an existing sde table name (so the user is prompted to insert the table name that already exists), then I have a reprojector followed by the FeatureWriter to Drop and Create the table in a new projection. The table to be dropped an create will be the same one inserted by the user. Hence, this table already exists. Error: ‘Feature Type Definition {feature here} was requested, but not defined’. I checked another similar post, but I still can’t get my workbench to work. I have a Feature Reader set as follows: When I run the workbench, the FeatureReader does not show the table name that was inserted by the user, but instead, it catches the table records under ‘Generic’ see screenshot below. (If I were to access that table statically (connecting to the table via the SDE connection), then the table name will display along with it’s schema defini

Building Areas bounding endpoint vertex from lines

Hi all,I have a set of input street lines with certain attribute (POSTAL CODES), and I would like to create area polygons from unique values of such postal code attribute. convert lines to gpx-files, fanout by name of the route

I have a feature class with cycling and walking routes (with ID and Name) and a feature class with the starting points of the (circular) routes. I want to write all the routes in the feature class to separate gpx-files. Each gpx-file should have the name of the route in its filename.I tried with the ‘fanout’ option in the writer, but the resulting files are no gpx-files and are very small (1kB), so without content I guess. Any advise?

Merging rasters causing problems downstream

Hi,This is a question that is really related to another piece of software (lastools) but it is using a product of FME.Basically in lastools you can colour a point cloud by an aerial image (the same as PointCloudOnRasterComponentSetter). I want to set up a script to do it in lastools because that is faster for this task.Anyway, lastools only accepts one raster (tif) as an input. I have multiple overlapping rasters. The overlapping parts are identical. What I want to do is merge these rasters and chop to the extents of each input point cloud.That is all easy but I’m having a little trouble getting it to work. It seems that lastools doesn’t like the RasterMosaicker transformer. The input (pre merged) rasters work fine, and even the clipped rasters (clipped but not merged). Which I’m taking to mean my writer properties are correct. I can’t see any difference in properties between ones that work and a mosaicked raster. I.e the bands/palettes are all the same because the source rasters are a

Hi there.I was wondering which type of parameter is used when enableing vaccum analyze tabel in a Postgis writer feature type (https://www.postgresql.org/docs/current/sql-vacuum.html) . Updating contents of XML elements with new values

I have an XML file generated by a specific SW, and there is an issue with one element, which content I cannot influence as I would like to. I am uploading images (.JPG) as attachments to a hosted feature service (AGOL) using the HTTP Caller transformer. The images are transferring just fine - but the server (AGOL side) is assigning the incorrect mime type

The images are successfully uploaded, but the server assigns the incorrect mime type. This causes the images to download, and not display in browser. I have tried setting the 'content_type' manually to 'image/jpeg' - but the server seems to assign the mime type to 'application/octet-stream' every time. my config is below. am I using the wrong syntax/config? thanks.... Upload Files with REST API

Hi, is it possible to upload a file to the FME Flow shared resource folder through the Flow REST API? I tried to setup a POST request for https://fme.oebb.at/fmerest/v3/resources/connections/<resource>/filesys/<path> but get a 415 Unsupported Media Type Response. I used the following parameters in Postman:In this example I want to upload the text file “test.txt” to the shared resource folder “Test”. Is there a problem with the request, or is this the wrong approach for uploading a file via the REST API? The goal would be to provide a means for external applications to upload files that are then processed by FME Flow. Thank you for your help!

Hacking schema features for dynamic output ?

Hi list.I'm tasked with importing a lot of feature sets, each with its own set of fields/attributes. So I'm using dynamic output mode, utilizing the schema features read.Unfortunately the request is to add a "job ID", so I tried to append an entry to the attribute list of the schema features, but suddenly the proces fails, not recognizing the schema features anymore. And this without changing anything in the data features flow nor the writer.An example of the error message is:Microsoft SQL Server Spatial Writer: A feature has arrived with 'fme_feature_type' of DAF_DAGI.afstemningsomraade_908308, but the feature type is not recognized. Halting translationMy writer setup is shown in the attached image. Why does the writer suddenly confuse the fme_feature_type with the requested table name ?Or is the error message false/misleading ?The "fme_feature_type" of the data features are the exact same, I just manipulated the schema features in a parallel "stream".Any insights are appreciated.Chee

Sluggish performance with comment field

Hello, I am a first-time poster on the FME forum. My goal is to read data stored in a plain view from a non-spatial Oracle database and then write it to an Oracle SDE geo_dbtable. The issue is that my Oracle Non-Spatial Reader slows down, taking more than 30 minutes to execute the SQL Statement when I include two comment fields that are long, 2000 characters. When I run the same query in SQL Developer, the result is back in a few seconds. The log message that gets stuck on is: ORACLE Reader: Executing SQL Statement `SELECT…<field names> to obtain features for feature type <Oracle View Name>If I uncheck the comment fields in the User Attributes tab the reader returns quickly, within a minute. So I’m skeptical that it is caused by network distance. Given these challenges, I need some guidance. I’ve tried using an Oracle NCLOB to hold the comments in the view, but the result remains sluggish. I'm eager to learn how to optimize my workbench's performance when dealing with

Sudden server app token permission change in FME Server/Flow 2022.2.x ?

Hi all.Our FME Servers using version 2022.2.x have been running fine for over a year now, but suddenly (in the last month or so) the existing server apps have begun to fail, stating missing token permission to server and database connections as the cause.What’s causing this sudden change in behaviour ?The server apps have been running without problems until this started.Cheers. Spatial Join linear feature with closest running a similar angle (Spatial Angle Join)

Hi All,Im trying to do a spatial join of attributes from the red line (running parallelish) to the black line, not the attributes from the red line running down Duke Street.I have tried a range of thingsbuffering the black line and seeing what it contains ( it contains a piece of Duke Street) and the parallel red line but i cant work out which record to take getting the polar angle of the lines and looking at the list of records that spatially join it - im struggling to sort the list to find the correct record. I think i need a Spatial Angle Join but am struggling with the logic on the listsAny help or suggestions appreciated. Thanks Steve

SQLExecutor with Custom SQL schema failed warnings by Microsoft SQL Server Spatial Reader

I am using an SQLExecutor to write spatial data into an ArcGIS Enterprise database table.It took me a while to get it done, and there is still more work to do but currently a smaller chunk of data is for the first time written into the table. What bugs me is the 4 lines of warning that I get for every feature written.Microsoft SQL Server Spatial Reader: Getting Custom SQL schema failed. Custom SQL query 'INSERT INTO building (OBJECTID,SHAPE)VALUES (27, geometry::STGeomFromWKB(here is of course the binary, 25832))' may execute in an unexpected manner. Make sure all columns are named (any ambiguous columns, e.g. GEOM.STBuffer(1), must have an AS clause). If there is an ORDER BY clause, either remove it or add a TOP clause. If this warning is generated in a SQLCreator or SQLExecutor, you can avoid it by picking Data Features in the Features to Read field the message coming from Microsoft SQL Server Spatial Reader seems strange how can I avoid this in the SQLExecutor? Is there a way to get the Excel Writer to honour the cell width of the template file?

It used to work in older versions (2020?), but now will only use the value set in the writer. If I set it to 0 for automatic width, it results in "Error running translation"I need the cell size to be a specific decimal value, but the writer will only let me set an integer for the cell width.

Hello,Context : FME 2024.0.3, Windows 11I'm currently working on a project with source data and files “.shp” files within it. Each of these files has several columns, one of which is called “IdGen”. Only this column is not written in the same way according to the “.shp” file, example: IDgen, idgen, IDGEN, idGen……To insert it into our GIS, I would like to know if there was a way to change, at once and with a single transformer, all the columns having “idgen” regardless of how it is written to “ IdGen” as I wish ? All this with the aim that my FME project can work automatically during the next updates without having to use AttributeManager behind each of the files…Thank you !Antoine
