I have a dozen TIFF files I need to convert to PDF. These are not georeferenced or related to GIS; they are just black-and-white images. They are intended to be hyperlinked so users can view them on a website. I understand how to use the TIFF Reader, but the PDF Writer confuses me. I see there are only two choices to write to PDF: Adobe 3D PDF and Adobe Geospatial PDF Writers. I have tried both and received same error. I am using FME Form 2021. What is the best way to convert TIFF files to PDF files? Or what parameters do I need to set if I use one of the PDF Writers I mentioned? Here is the error I receive when I use any of the two PDF Writers:ERROR |PDFWriter: Could not open output file for writing. Please verify that the file is not open in other applications or that the file is not read-onlyThe TIFF files are not open and are not read-only.

I wish to use the JPEG writer rather than the attribute file writer, because I want to add EXIF data to the image that doesn't exist in the original BLOB. I do not see a way to add this EXIF information when simply using an attribute File Writer.

I have a template.gdb that contains feature classes, and some attributes within these feature classes have default values. Like here for the attribute FLOWDIRECTION When writing features into these feature classes using the Feature Writer, I expect the default values to be applied to attributes where no value is provided. However, this is not happening. What could be the reason for this issue? How can I ensure that the default values from the geodatabase are correctly applied?

Hi all,I work on a mapping project that requires all of our shapefiles to be quality checked at the end of production. I currently have an FME workbench that converts Esri geodatabases to shapefiles for the final check.However, I’m having an issue with one of my attributes. The attribute is being written out by the workbench as a ‘double’ (which I believe has a max width of 19). The quality check tool checks both the data type (needs to be real) and the specified width of each attribute (needs to be 19).When it is checked by the quality check tool I get an error message which states the expected length is 19 and has found a width of 15? It’s fine with it being a ‘double’ though?Any ideas?Will provide more information if needed.

Hi,I am trying to use the SpatialSorter in my workspace to sort data by location and define group size. However, as I’m currently using the FME Workbench 2024 version, the SpatialSorter is quite different and doesn’t provide a new attribute named “GroupID”, it’s also impossible to define a group size in the parameters.It is quite inconvenient because it’s not possible to use the Aggregator transformer on the GroupID attribute afterwards to group sorted spatial data.As far as I know, there is no unexposed attribute generated from SpatialSorter in the FME 2024 version. To compensate, I used the  NeighborhoodAggregator but I’m not satisfied by the results.I was wondering if anyone else encountered the same issue and found another solution ? Thank you for reading!

The two lines below share the same end nodes and I want to give them a common group id for later processing. This is to be the step after a TopologyBuilder.I thought this would be pretty simple, but have run aground. So how do I achieve this?The geometris are to be left unchanged. I just want them to have a common “id” if they intersect at both ends.The conditions for the ‘join’ are:_from_node = _from_node AND _to_node = _to_nodeOR_from_node = _to_node AND _to_node = _from_nodeBecause sometimes the lines orient in different directions.  

Hello everyone, I'm currently imitating this example from FME to generate 3D buildings from 2D polygons, but with my own data. I expected that, being 4 perfect squares, I'd get 24 tiles after running the deaggregator, but instead I have a few more.It looks like some walls have been wrongly divided. I need to "simplify" these parts into an unique wall or else the appearence setter will not correspond. The issue is that I can't seem to find the transformer or process to do this. I've tried changing the parametres to deaggregator and planarityFIlter, I've tried using Orientor and OrientorExtractor, I've been looking for some patterns in the orientation, surface coordinates or other attributes that could allow me to join them together… but none of them have worked. Has anyone got an idea how to solve this?BTW the original 2D polygon comes a FGDB and it's a fme_composite_surface by the time the geometrycoercer is run. The behaviour may be different from Mesh Objects, CityGML or Interpolis,

I have a point cloud with a certain class. This class will be scattered and in clusters within the point cloud, and I want to a) identify these clusters and b) create a point feature layer for the lowest point within these clusters and get the height.  Is this possible with FME?

Hi All,  I have been getting my head around FME Server and Webhooks with Survey123 data collection, and I am loving it! I can competently capture data via a Survey123 form, then trigger some FME automation to manipulate the data and email a specific user results dependant on what was captured in the Survey123 form. This is working well.  I would now love to take this to the next level by using the formal Survey123 Report rest API. So ideally I want to get a copy of the Survey123 report PDF that is generated each time the webhook is triggered, and email this PDF to particular people. I have been searching this forum and I do not see any tutorials or any mention of working with the Survey123 Report API itself. Has anyone had any experience with setting up an automation that works with the ESRI Survey123 Report creation API, that they would be willing to share with me? note: I know with FME I can do pretty much everything the Survey123 report generator can do, in the long run with the doz

I can't subtract solid geometry with the fme csg-builder.My goal ist to subtract the terrain (extruded by -10m) from buildings, to evaluate the volume that is above the terrain (subtract the basement under terrain). 3D-View:2D-View:  I tried several fme-transformer before plug them into the csg-builder. I used combinations of geometrycoercers and solid-builders with no success. My approach is to negative-extrude the terrain convert it to a solid and then substract it from the building-solids.The result ist always “nothing” (rejected):Or i just get one building dissolved (union) or cut (difference) when i dont use grouping: 

I have various values in a 'code' field.A sample would be: A33, B111W, B12, C3V etc, etc.This issue is, there should be decimal points between all numbers, i.e, these should correctly read: A3.3, B1.1.1W, B1.2, C3V. There does not need to be points between the letters.I can string replace “33” with “3.3” and continue to do that for all values if I have to, but I’m hoping that there is a more efficient way of capturing these values and using regex or something to force decimal points between the numerical characters. I’m not well adept at using the stringformatter, but maybe there is something there? 

I have a FME 2022.1 Desktop workspace with dynamic reader and dynamic writer. The reader generates several lists in some feature classes, in addition to attributes.How can I parameterize e.g. ListIndexer or ListExploder transformers to treat all appearing lists within various features of various feature classes streaming through my dynamic workspace at once, not explicitly knowing their list names (and hence not being able to indicate them as transformer parameter) ?

I was just trying to load a wms into my fme workbench using the OGC WMS reader and i get the image with a resolution of 22m yet the image has a resolution of 8cm.I then loaded the same wms as a background map and it comes with the desired resolution of 8cm. Did i miss something or the calls made to the wms server using the background option is different from those made using the OGC WMS reader?i also realised that without setting the map width and height the resolution is very coarse then on setting the width and height, the resolution gets better, but i cant go beyond the maxheight and maxheight specified in the wms xml file. Below is the wms url.https://service.pdok.nl/hwh/luchtfotorgb/wms/v1_0?request=GetCapabilities&service=wms Kind regards,Keller.

I am doing proof-of-concept testing to create a FLOW APP to collect public input data (public survey).. It’s simple survey, just  a few questions. Everything seems working (I published workspace for ‘job submitter’.. but Is it possible tomodify the ‘Run’ button in the App? e.g. as ‘Submit’.2. disable the ‘Run Again’ after a run?After run complete, is it possible to return some text message? e.g. ‘Your inputs has been recorded. Thank you for your help!...” or a bit more advanced to return the summary of data input by user?Not sure if I am heading a wrong direction. Any help is appreciated.

Hi All,I have a FME workspace published with the Data streaming service of FME Server 2016.The workspace creates a HTML file for output.When I run the workspace my browser allows me to download the file (or run it).I want the HTML contents of the file to replace the FME Server page (or automatically open in a new tab).What do I need to change to open the HTML file without user interaction?Thanks for any help,Erik Jan

I am trying to create a workspace that identifies consecutive duplicate point in DWG polylines. and outputs their coordinates for future review.As per my example, Autodesk AutoCAD DWG/DXF (normal reader or FeatureReader) does some autorepair on the features while reading. The DWG feature has 12 vertex in AutoCAD but only 7 in FME.Please see attached sample feature in dwg format.I want FME to read the same geometrie that AutoCAD gives.Using FME 2024.2.1.0 build 24801 

I am using FME Form 2021. I have a Point Feature Class with 100,000 points that includes 4 ID fields, all of which are populated with unique IDs. I want to simplify the process of creating new unique IDs from the existing ones, so I no longer have to manually enter each one when I add a new point.For simplicity, I will refer to the unique ID fields as Field1, Field2, Field3, and Field4. For Field1, the maximum value is 141386; for Field2, the maximum value is 592124.What would be the best way to do this in FME? I am looking for general information like what transformers and parameters I need to use; I think I need to use the Counter Transformer.My goal is to add a new point in ArcGIS Pro and then run the FME workspace to generate the unique IDs for that point. 

Hi, I have this workspace and databse connection, worked nicely to write to a table.This is geometry column for another table in PGAdmin My workspace using the PostGreSQL writer: But for some reason, even if I add column geom manually in pg admin after, it refuses to write. What could I be doing wrong? The column jsut never appears, maybe it is a pgadmin question not FME question how I store the geodata, not as X,Y points but as readable geometry like this:  

I’m using FME Workbench 2023.1.  I have a workspace where I am trying to use a FeatureReader with a Spatial Filter for a constraint to limit the number of Parcels I bring in from the Parcels layer by running them spatially against the Corporate Boundary layer.  I’m new to FeatureReaders and I’m not sure what I am missing to get this to work as intended.  I have my Corporate Boundary layer connected to the Initiator Port on the FeatureReader.  The settings for the FeatureReader point to the ESRI REST Service URL of the Parcels layer.  And no matter what Spatial Filter selection I use: Initiator OGC - Contains Result, Initiator OGC - Intersects Result, Initiator OGC - Within Result...I only get 1 output to the Schema and 1 output to the Initiator port.  See the image below.  Can someone please explain what I might be doing wrong or missing when trying to use the FeatureReader? FeatureReader_Parcels Parameters view with FME Workspace in the background. 

Hello Forum,I am experiencing an unexpected problem with what should be a simple point in polygon search process in FME Form. I have a Creator connecting to…FeatureReader -  reading in a point dataset of 16255 recordsFeatureReader - reading in a polygon dataset, which covers a smaller area of what the points do  The two FeatureReaders feed into a PointOnAreaOverlayer. But when I run the workspace 16255 point records are found. The number should be far smaller. Thanks. 

I’m wondering is there a way to add like datetime stamps to the engine result zipped file name? I know this need to be unique but would be nice to add datetime stamps to it while have it remain unique.  

I am working on feature and attribute extraction from an AutoCAD Architectural file, namely the extraction of room polygons and their attributes from AEC blocks that represent rooms. I have tried the Civil 3D reader and the reader actually sees the layer with the room AEC blocks and it shows me the available attributes correctly, alas the reader does not return any features. There are no errors, only a lot of warnings about attribute renaming because of scpecial characters.Has anyone ever succeeded in reading AEC block features and attributes? If so, how did you do it?

Hi,I have points created by vertex creator but my points don’t have coordinate system. I need create by points square buffers with 25 kilometers. I’m using coordinate system setter to define WGS84, after use bufferer but the error below is showed. Bufferer can’t understand my coordinate system but without the coordinate system isn´t possible to generate the buffer. Thank´s
