In my data, I have 3 Oracle tables (numbered for ease of explanation); 1) a spatial table with geometries of tubes used as casings for HV-cables 2) a spatial table with the geometries of the actual HV-cables3) a non-spatial table with the connection between the tubes and the cables they contain (essentially displaying which key(s) in table 1 is(/are) matched to which key(s) in table 2 What I'm interested in is isolating the tubes which have a cable running through (/on top of) them based on a spatial analysis, but aren't yet connected in table 3. Therefore, I'm looking to exclude all tubes with a key present in table 3 from table 1 before progressing with the other translations (which are going well), but I'm not getting anywhere with Matcher. Is there any other transformer to use here?

Hi, I am currently working through the FME Server Tutorials, it is a very steep learning curve as I have only just installed FME Server on my PC and had zero server experience before now. So I have it up and running, and I have several other devices connected to the same local network, and I am wanting to log into this server using another machine, but it is as though the server does not exist! the link can be accessed fine from the same machine, its just other machines that cannot access it ("Page not found") I have double checked, I can successfully ping the machine, no worries at all. So I have used the 'direct link' on another machine on my network (just replaced localhost:80 with 192.168.1.2), but it is returning a page not found. http://192.168.1.2/fmeserver/#/workspaces/run/Training/SelfServe-Ex1-Complete.fmw/fmedatadownloadAny thoughts on what may be going wrong here? =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-                               Pu

I got my Looping Transformers working but it feels wrong to do it the way I solve it now. How would others solve my problem? I do a webrequest and in my result I recieve a value I need for my next request. At this moment I use a CustomTransformer with a published parameter set to AttributeName. Then I use an AttributeCreator to move the value to the AttributeName I use in my customTransformer. Hi, we are in the process of considering FME Server in some sort of Cloud solutions. We formed a group to discuss the issue, and ran into the question where FME Server and related implementations 'fits' in the diagram below:Is FME Server Middleware, in which case it would be part of the environment to be delivered by the serviceprovider in case of a PAAS solution? Or is it 'just' an application, in which case one should turn to a SAAS solution to have it delivered by a serviceprovider? And what is the relation with FME Cloud? And the BYOL constructs that are available on Azure or Google? And the 'documents' (workspaces, automations?)that are contained on the FME Server server, how do they fit in? Anyone having any ideas on this?

I have a very simple question, I have two line datasets that cross each other. The goal is to get a count of how many times each line in dataset 1 crosses a line in dataset 2 (total crossing, ie if line 1 crosses line 2 twice, would like to track that). To do this, I was using a spatial relator with the attached parameters. The problem is that the "related suppliers count attribute" is 0 across the board. I have used "Requester Crosses Supplied" and "Requester Intersects Supplier" with no success. Is there a parameter I am missing?

I would like to ad identifiers to pairs of "touching" endpoints. So if two endpoints touch (or are within a given buffer) they are to be tagged with an identifier that is unique to this pair. Lets say that the first two touching endpoints both are tagged with 1 (or A), the next pair with 2 (or B) and so on. How can I achieve this?

I regularly have to send geodata to others outside of the company I work from.In order to send any type of data to external parties or clients, we have to upload the data to an online portal. This portal requires me to use a 2 step verification process to log in (first my company username and password, and then with an sms code send to my phone). After logging in, I'm able to upload the data to specific environments (folders) for each external party.Is it possible to automatically upload the data through FME, either through an HTTP caller, or some other method? I tried using the HTTP caller, and switched around certain settings and parameters, but so far no success.The portal used is this one, it doesn't seem to be internationally known, but I could be mistaken. Hello, what would be the proper way to filter out duplicate lines. For example, I have 2 completely overlapping lines with different line directions and I can't just use DuplicateFilter because the geometry of those lines are different so in fact they are not duplicate... I noticed that if I put GeometryExtractor before duplicate filter and set the Geometry encoding to 'GEO (Microformat)' - also works with some other formats - than it seems it looses the info about line direction and DuplicateFilter detects those 2 lines as duplicate lines. So, at the end, my workbench works but I'm afraid that this is some weak workaround that will fail in some sitauations... or?

Good mourning,  we use fme desktop for windows to launch current treatment, but we also have a *64 linux version when the treatments require more ressources to be launched. Unfortunaltely, some treatments using 'CARIS Spatial Archive (CSAR) Point Cloud' format doesn't work on *64 linux. Indeed, this version doesn't take into account the CARIS formats. According to the log file, this is because the module "gdal/CSAR PC is unavailable for use with this fme edition" (there is no problem wirh the windows edition). Is there any solution to run caris format with a linux edition of FME desktop? Thank You Ronan

I am being trained in FME by my university. I am trying to use the transformer TestFilter with FME Desktop 2020. BUT . . . I do not have a list of logis statements under the logic column. My lecturer has a long list, but when I click on the box, I have only one word to choose from "NOT". I do not have OR or AND, etc.  How can I get FME to offer these logic words?

So we updated to Oracle 12 and it allow as to create column more than 30 characters. Wonder how we can allow this feature in FME Oracle FeatureWriterCurrently I can't find way to enter columns that will have more than 30 characters. See attached picture for details.  FME(R) 2018.1.1.1 (20181203 - Build 18578 - WIN32) Any Ideas?

Our organization upgraded from FME Desktop and Server 2019.1 to 2020.1. We have a process in which users can select an area on the map and a FME workspace will run that will export data into a cad file (dwg) and a png file putting both files in a folder. We realized that the cad file does not include the reference to the png file since the upgrade. The workspace is showing a warning that "AutoCAD Writer: Failed to write raster. Skipping feature". I am not sure why the autocad writer is failing. Has anyone else ran into this warning before? If so, what did you do to resolve it?

How add a group by option in my custom transformer? Example:  Another example might be if I put a Counter with local scope starting at 0 inside the custom transformer, then I would like to group by for instance _creation_instance - to get three features out all with _count = 0. In the Custom transformer I see a setting Group by <not set> but I am not able to edit that one (there are no suggestions when opening it). I tried creating a parameter called fme_group_by but that did not work either. How can I do this?

Hi all, I am trying to use the following link to setup a json file and automated script to extract data. It is the first time I have attempted to do this and I have used the httpcaller and also tried the json reader to get an output.  I am just trying to tackle this one step at a time and very eager to get my first API working. In terms of the link I used https://api.coronavirus.data.gov.uk/v1/data which I added to the httpcaller. It did pick this up and then i was not able to get anything from the attributexposer. Hi, I'm using a feature reader to read a bunch of CSV's with changing column and data row numbers. I first extract the row numbers with a text file reader en feed these values into a feature reader. Like so: When running the workspace it looks like FME interprets my expression as a text:Using FME 2020.1 here. Does anyone know what is wrong? I have a workspace that is writing to Google BigQuery and is connecting using the service account key file option. For this to work, the environment variable GOOGLE_APPLICATION_CREDENTIALS must be set to the path of the key file. I have uploaded the file to my FME Cloud instance, but need to know how to set the environment variable.

I'm newbie...I adapted the code of FME's exampleFME Server Playground - Upload File In Sessionto run as custom-widget within ESRI Web AppBuilder (Developer Edition) and I have unexpected problem. This problem occurrs also if I run the exact code of the original FME's example, since the code is good, only my cloud workspace apparently lack some definitions. I'll explain - If I run FME's original code example using FME's original easyTranslator.fme workspace, then for different input files I get different results (well, it's obvious expected behaviour...).Same if I run it on easyTranslator.fme which FME has put inside "Sample" folder in my cloud (I assume it's exactly same workspace). But when I run SAME exact FME's code example on MY FME's cloud workspace that was created independently, it returns ALWAYS the results zip code of the FIRST input file, no matter if I upload other file and run on it. Hello everyone,please, Im thinking about the most simple way, how to test text string to contain any letter combinations?E.g. I have got some codes - 1B3DDD386MND, 1B3DDD386CDL etc. and I have separately Excel file, where are allowed and forbidden letter combinations. CDL is forbidden string combination, so I need to detect this combination. In Excel, there are thousands of these combinations, so its highly time demanding to put all this combinations to tester transformer with CONTAINS condition.Any tips how to solve it highly effective? Thanks a lot!Lubo
