I have a workbench that is chocked full of transformers trying to fix, set, extract, validate and write the coordinate system. I can see the CS in the feature details and have a tester to get from an attribute that has just been updated with the CS. however trying to route any features to a sampler and then an xlsx list always ends up empty. however when i get the output and go to look at the cs output in the _coordsys there are features that are empty or contain spaces. even on a support call with safe they could not see any problem with the method i am using to get this. yet still the data is empty.reading from dwg files and using the realdwg reader. I have the custom Fix_Coord_System transformer built by Safe.I then proceed to set the coordinate system, extract it back out to an attribute, and test that attribute (BTW I have also tried to test the system @coordsys value to no avail) .since i am just testing an attribute i am trying to test for at least 1 erroneous value "FME&qu

I have a workspace with an User Parameter of type Choice (List). When I put this with AttributeManager into an attribute I can see that the choices I made (checkboxes I ticked) are listed. However, when I use that same Custom Parameter inside an embedded Custom Transformer it doesn't reflect anymore my choices.Does anybody know if I'm doing something wrong or if I stumbled upon a bug?I'm using FME 2019.2.3.1 

For some background on what I'm doing, I am trying to create a workspace to export some data from an Oracle database and write to a shapefile. As I don't know the attributes/geometry types ahead of time I'm making use of the SchemaSetter and dynamic options in a FeatureWriter.  This is mostly working fine, but I'm having issues when it comes to MultiPoint features. I've created and attached a very simple workspace that demonstrates the problem I'm having.  I'm using six creators to create two features of each geometry type, then aggregating these together to create a MultiPolygon, MultiLine and MultiPoint. I'm then running these three features through a SchemaSetter and writing to a shapefile, with a Geometry type of 'First Feature Defines Geometry Type'. The MultiPolygon and MultiLine features get written to the file and look as I'd expect in a GIS program.  The MultiPoint doesn't however, as the log states that:2020-10-02 15:09:00|   1.1|  0.0|WARN  |Shapefile Writer: Feature type 'C

Hello, I have a line that I would like to cut by points (no issue with that so far with the pointonlineoverlayer).Then, I would like to order the new lines so that the end vertex of the 1st line is the start vertex of the 2ne line, the end vertex of the 2nd line is the start vertex of the third line etc.On the picture, on the left is the regular result, no order. On the right is the result I would like. Does anybody have hints about that ? I found similard subjects but I did not find one which really applies to my issue. Many thanks in advance,Ann

I transformed SHP to DGN, but all features are in one color. I need to apply features in color set by level. Even with seed file set or DGN file with right colored features as a color source, features from SHP data are in the right levels, but have no individual color by level. Seems like transformer is putting SHP feature in right DGN level (by attribute) but with default color, not color by level.

Hello FME Community, First time posting here! Hope to explain my problem better with screenshots of my current situation and what I hope to achieve. I have 3 empty columns I like to them to be filled with values from Status_Percentage.sum based on the feature's status (e.g. Built, Intended, Interim).  The result should look like this:The image shows values from Status_Percentage.sum filled to each empty columns based on the feature's status.  I've looked into AttributeManager and conditional values but not getting what I want. I've been advised to look at VariableSetter and VariableRetriever but am not familiar with the transformers.  Any help is appreciated! Thanks in advance.

Is there any possibility on using writer feature that has been generated into reader feature so I can avoid from running the workbench twice?

I have a workspace published on FMECloud which is triggered by http requests from an api. The request contains a geojson geometry defining an area of interest. With larger geometries I receive an error from FME saying the request payload is too large. Can someone tell me the size limit on request payloads and is it possible to configure it to a larger value?

So I have some areas that have gaps. I used an area amalgamator to combine them. It works really well. However, it makes the polygon/area have tons of points. Is there a way to reduce the number of points on the polygon? In the screenshots, before Amalgamation, the number of polygon points is probably 10-20. After, there are probably a hundred points that make up the polygon. All are very close together and could be removed and still keep the shape

Hi, I am new to FME Server and I am having a problem. When I run a single workflow it is looking for a file directory that exisits and works, however when I run the same workflow within an automation it is looking for a different file location and so is completing but not reading the file and populating with the writer. Examples of the different location types are:single run on server: C:\\ProgramData\\Safe Software\\FME Server\\resources\\data\\run through automation:Server\\resources\\data\\ it seems to be looking for the file address in two parts where the space in FME Server is? thanks,Andrew 

In the SQL Creator transformer, what is meant by 'attributes to expose'. When do I need to use it? For example if I have a query which extracts fields, wouldn't the attributes be exposed from the query itself.

Is the UUIDGenerator using the algoritm to generate IETF UUID version 4 (random) ? If so, can you add to documentation with reference to the IETF standard ? If it is version 4 (random), can you explain which library is used as seed for the random number?

Maybe this is known behavior, but I noticed that when using the following dataset name in an Excel Feature writer in FME Server, that the expression was not evaluated correctly when using the Data Download or Data Streaming services. "testfilename_@DateTimeFormat(@DateTimeNow(),%Y%m%d).xlsx" Interestingly, it works fine in Desktop, and when using the Job Submitter service in Server. Has anyone else encountered this type of issue?

I have some LandXML files containing points (CgPoints) and lines (PlanFeature) with some attributes. As per the LandXML schema, the <CgPoints> are defined with the coordinate geometry as a <CgPoint>, and the attribute information as <Feature> with properties:  <CgPoints>    <CgPoint name="TRAU201" code="" oID="TRAU201">1256922.890706 84309.502725 165.818283</CgPoint>    <Feature code="Gemini attributes">      <Property label="S_OBJID" value="TRAU201"/>      <Property label="S_FIELDCODE" value="41050"/>    </Feature>  </CgPoints>What I am struggling with is to read the Feature information. The LandXML reader gives me an option read both CgPoints and CgPoint, but not Feature. CgPoint will give me the name, code and oID above, but my Feature attributes are not there... I need to extract the "S_FIELDCODE" value along with the geometry, but how?

Hello, I have a shapefile with various polygons on land parcels. I've been tasked figure out the dimensions of the polygons and display them on a map for engineers and planners to examine. How would I go about this using FME 2018.1?Since some of the polygons have curves, I figured I would use the PolylineAnalyser tool from the Hub and use the Segment output. Then use the Sorter to first sort by the ObjectID and then by the angle of the segment. Then I wanted to merge line segments that are within a 2-3 degrees range of each other so I would get a continuous line, instead of a bunch of small lines to make up a side of a polygon. Perhaps I'm going about this entirely wrong and there is an easier way to do this. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you

I have a set of geometry 3D objects containing, points, surfaces, cubes, and lines. Each geometry object in the set has attributes defined for them but the attributes are read into the workspace through a different reader.The geometry and attributes for this set are coming from the same file originating from AutoCAD Mechanical 2020.1) How can I join the set of attributes to the set of geometry objects?I have tried using FeatureMerger with a join on `_geometry` which is successful for points because the geometry matches the 'insertion point' of the attributes being read in but the join fails when the geometry is 3D or not of equal size.I have tried Matcher with vector tolerance but the results were not was I was looking for. Could be a transformer configuration problem.I have tried NeighborFinder but the results were not was I was looking for. Could be a transformer configuration problem.I have also tried SpatialRelator to find containment and Clipper but inputs were rejected for both o

I have features that I'd like to create one row per Precinct and the create an attribute for each Contest values assigning the Votes value to each of those new attributes. I have looked at the Attribute Exploder, the Aggregator, the List Exploder, etc. I'm a bit stumped. Any suggestion on how to accomplish this?  Something like this: Thanks for any help!

Is there a way to move workspaces from one repository to the other, other than re-publishing them through FME Workbench? I have a customer who has uploaded all workspaces to a single repository and is now looking to set that up in a better way (FME Server 2019)

Hi list.Does the FeatureReader reading WFS 2.0.0 data handle paging ?If a service is known to be limited to return a maximum number of features per call, paging, i.e. fetching the complete dataset in chunks, is a way to handle this.However, the only options I see are "Max Features" and "Count", but they don't incur paging, as far as I can tell.So how does FME handle WFS 2.0.0 paging ?CheersLars I

Hi there,I'm trying to figure out how VariableSetter/Retriever works.  I found this article which is very helpful:https://community.safe.com/s/article/converting-multi-line-records-into-single-features However, I'm a bit confused that there're 48 records when setting VariableSetter, while there're 450 records when using VariableRetriever...How could VariableRetriver work to detect&input those 48 rows' attributes into the 450 records?  Great thanks!
