 I'm trying to work out how to parse the SAMPLES attribute from the Trace component of the SEG-Y reader. The reader outputs the samples as encoded FME Binary which is represented as HEX in the attribute viewer. The samples are a byte array of 246 consecutive UINT16 readingsI want to parse the samples into a list of UNIT16 values so I can then do some analysis on them. I have tried a whole range of approaches to process the string into a list of numbers but nothing seems to work and I suspect I'm just missing something. Anyone have any ideas?

Hi, I have a dataset with a class called drains, I no longer want drains to appear in the dataset and would like to merge/dissolve these on their nearest neighbour. When I do this at the moment, many dissolve and the neighbours attributions wins out, but in some cases (it appears to be when the drain is the bigger feature) the drains attribution remains. Is it possible to dissolve all drains into their neighbour and always have the neighbours attribution remaining?Thanks for any help. B

Hi, I have a dataset that as part of a cleanup I am generalising. It is a vector dataset derived from aerial photography, therefore it has a slightly pixelated look. The point of the generalising is to remove this look and 'smooth' the output. The problem is that at times the output becomes too generalised. See below where relatively straight lines become quite pronounced. In this instance, I do not want the lines to change much. But for example below these particular parameters do a great job. Here, with the same parameters as above it has done a great job of removing the pixelated look.Is there any way to limit the generalisation of the 90 degree angles and allowing the smoothing to take place in other areas?I think it might be unlikely there is a solution, it may just be a limitation of the generaliser transformer. I have tried all the different smoothing parameters/algorithms and this seems to be the best. I'm currently using the NURBfit (Smooth) with a degree of basis

This is actually a water network routing challenge, but I'm going to describe it like a road network problem since the "Nearest Fire Station" problem is a classical network/GIS problem and this is just the urban water supply network equivalent.I have to create a fast-calculating FME workflow that processes 75,000 possible, independent, "Road Intersection Closure" events that may or may not result in some other Intersection "Nodes" also becoming inaccessible to all 100 "Fire Stations" as a result of the closure.This particularly happens when you close a critical Intersection that cuts off all routes to the downstream intersections where they do not have a alternative network route ring road.Ironically, I have a proprietary piece of network analysis software that finishes the above calculation in 20 minutes and is the benchmark for an equivalent FME workflow. Trying to connect a Smallworld db for the first time. When I hit on the ... next to "Table List" then it keeps loading.Are there settings I should check and can I find some logging somewhere?

I would like to filter my dataset based on addresses that don't match. The Tester is not giving the expected output. Please see the screenshots below: The first screenshot (Tester1) is of Tester Parameters box where I have set the addresses of the joined dataset to not equal each other. The second screenshot (Tester2) shows the transformer output and as you can see the addresses are the same. Thank you for your help!  

Hello,I am trying to setup my web service and a web connection for the Sharepoint online connector, and have downloaded the FME Hub package safe.microsoft-sharepoint-1.0.0.fpkg. I have successfully used the default values supplied with the package in my FME desktop environment, and have setup an FME process to use multiple actions from the sharepointonline connector - which will simplify my organisations workflow in this area greatly. However: I need to configure this to run on FME Server 2019.0 and have registered an app on azure for FME, and have my client ID and client secret. Hello,I have a shp layer of lines for which I need to calculate the length of each line then round it to suppress the decimals. I use the lenghtcalculator to get the lenght of each line but for some lines I get results such as 7.566995918750763e-10 or 1.7276990785794134e-9With these results, I get 0 after the attributerounder. I even tried a stringformatter to reduce the amount of decimals but theses objets also turn into 0.Is there a way to avoid getting so much precision when calculating the lenght ? Or another way to calculate the lenght (I get the same result with an attribute creator and length() ) ? Many thanks in adance!Ann

This dialog window showed up during my translation. It does not show any error but I am curious as to why this happened... This is because when I run the workbench for multiple times it sometimes shown and sometime it does not. May I know what is the reason behind this?

I like to test out new beta functionality and would like to have a better idea about when the next official major release would be available. I end up telling colleagues about this new functionality and when they ask when it will be available, I would like to give them a good estimate of when that would be out.  I wasn't sure Safe was shooting for a certain month for each major release version, or they just happen whenever they are ready. For example, I'm looking at the new dynamic FME Server App Gallery updates that are to be release with 2020.2 and would like to know when that might be available to download for the official release.

Hi. I have a feature class (ESRI filegeodatabase) with lines and one with points. The tolerence of the featureclasses are 0.02m, and I need to disperse/move some points which are within the tolerence of each other (or else they are overlapping according to ESRI Utility Network).   I want to disperse/move the points by 0.025m so they no longer overlap. Just like this: How can I accomplish this? What I've tried so far is finding overlapping points with a neighborfinder and creating a custom transformer for moving the points. The custom transformer uses a snipper (with a set distance) and coordinateExtractor to get new coordinates for the points, vertexcreator for replacing the actual point and then another neighborfinder to find out if the point has other overlapping points. The distance used in the snipper is incremented by each iteration. But this isn't working. Am I maybe overcomplicating things? :)

This morning the security's certificate for FME Server Javascript Api v3 seems to be invalid :https://api.fmeserver.com/js/v3/FMEServer.js That cause a lots of problems over here, all our FME Server web apps our down! We had to switch urgently some apps in http. It's working but the interface is a little bit different. Maybe in the future we'll consider hosting our self the Javascript file.

I am trying to find a way to simplify/generalize the dataset below. There are a number of neighbouring plots similar to the one marked in blue. I would like to merge (dissolve) as many as possible of these whilst retaining the overall shape and those plots with more distinctive shapes.The original features are lines, but in the stage shown below I have created polygons and added a centre point. The plots I want to merge are rectangle shaped and of similar size. They are of course not true rectangles, that would be to easy, most have around 7-12 vertices.I tried the FuzzyParallelLineFinder but inner and outer lines where all computed. I want to keep the outer. I have the feeling that dissolving polygons will give me the result I want without having to patch everything up towards the end. But I could of course be wrong about that.If there is a easier way to do this than the one I suggest below, please let me know!My thinking is that in my "rectangles" the distance from the cent

Hello, I have a simple workspace that is reading in a feature class from a source geodatabase and writing it out to my target geodatabase. I am using (and need to use) a drop and create table handling method to write the feature class. The source feature class I am reading from is contained in a feature dataset. I don't want this feature dataset to be written out to the target geodatabase; I am only interested in writing the feature class it contains. However, the writer recreates the feature dataset from the source gdb, even though I left the Feature Dataset Table Creation Parameter in the writer null. How do I configure my writer so that only the feature class from the source geodatabase is being dropped and created, while ignoring and not recreating the feature dataset? Thank you.

I am working on a Feature class that have multiple fields that has "Year" values.  I am trying to bring my multiple year field values into one field and create a new table. Hi, i have a question which i think should be solvable with fme but i don't know the right transformer(s) to get the solution.  I have this table with points and id's. I would like to know the best way to calculate the highest score (1+2+3) but without using one id twice.Do you have any id how to solve this? *** Some extra info: Calculation 1 is not valid, here the sheet pics just the highest values (but picks A twice (not allowed)  Calculation 2 Here it picks the value of A (10) because it is the highest value in the table, but overall it is not the highest accumulation of points. Calculation 3 is what i am looking for, Here it picks the value's which calculates the heighest overall points for the table Jan

So I have this IMDF writer. Everything works fine except for this one property building_ids. The writer in safe says it is just a string. However, I have trouble making it generate output. In reality, it needs to look like this in the generated geojson: "building_ids" : ["8f0f9e75-860d-4050-a0f0-3483cd895a31"]
