Is this a bug in FME Desktop 2018.1.0.3 Build 18552 Data Inspector?p, li { white-space: pre-wrap; }Failed to initialize the reader in the temporary rendering processFailed to create the reader in the worker process for 2D renderingIt happens every time I use the Data Inspector out of Desktop Feature caching. It will load the file and display normal for about 30 seconds but then errors to this message.Thanks,Todd

Newly installed FME Desktop Oracle Edition 2018.1.0.2 Build 18547 - WIN64 crashing on exit. fmeworkbench.exe remains in Task Manager. Event Viewer error shows ucrtbase.dll as a faulting module.FME is installed on Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard SP1. I tried repairing and also reinstalling FME but nothing helps.

So I've asked this question of the FME server team, but I'm hoping someone has a work-around I can try. I want to specify, I don't want to use a table with locations, I don't want to use python to map to the right location either. Maybe there isn't a way to do what I want.So I have some workspaces that run nightly. I want to test them on desktop as well as our development fme server. There's a production fme server as well.For .sde connections: I created a folder (sdeConnections) on the E drive of each of the server environment and the connection files go in there. on desktop, I am mapping E:\\ to a network shared location. The E drive on desktop and the dev server both have connections to development databases. fme workspace authors will use these connections to test their workspaces. I am experiencing difficulty while transforming data from ArcSDE or FGDB to MITAB. Reading a <Null> or no value from the reader, MITAB writes it as '-9,999', which is unacceptable in my operations and queries.My addressing database contains approx. 4.5million records where majority of records contains <null> for various attributes (e.,g., <Null> for numeric attributes and blank/no value for string attributes).While writing to MITAB, FME converts represent the value as '-9,999' whereas, I expect the values same as reader (<Null> or blank). I tried using all parameters in 'NullAttributeMapper', that worked well on 'String' values but not on 'Numeric' values.I also tried using 'AttributeCreater' to and 'AttributeValueMapper' which didn't proved well.So need an expert advise on how to manage Null attribute values in MITAB, so I should get rid of the issue caused by '-9,999' values.Thanks

i'm unable to read coordinate system for some gml files using inspector.srs is also mentioned in the gml file(urn:ogc:def:crs,crs:EPSG::2180,crs:PL-KRON86-NH) but the inspector is unable to read the projection.What could be the reason.

HelloI have a shape with lines and one attribute with elevation (NEAU) and an other attribut with classe (RANG).Between a line and the nearest line it's necessary to create a TIN or raster starting for each line (IDT) from rank 1 to rank n + 1...And after I create a raster from the TIN.I used a 3d Forcer and TIN Generator but i dont know how to loop on the class for the same line. If you hadn't heard, the new iPhone 7 launches later this week with one very obvious feature removed: the headphone socket!So, as a fun challenge, what do you think the FME equivalent would be? i.e. what part of FME seems very important, but you could imagine being removed if we were bold enough?For example, I know @aaronkoning thinks we should remove the Navigator window in Workbench. The Navigator! I know. It's crazy talk. But Aaron thinks we could move everything onto the canvas and perhaps he is right...?So what do you think? Hi There, In my fme workspace, I am reading from a SQL Server database. After few changes, I am writing to a SQL Server spatial database. I want to implement a check to see if the same number of records are written as the source and not sure of the best way to accomplish that. This is to check if there were any records missed during to any error. If that's the case, then I want to skip writing to the database. Thanks Jay

Hi. I have multiple connections to my shapefile output.I want the attribute from one connection that has a value of columns Latitude and Longitude as 0 and 0 to be written at last.I have already tried using FeatureHolder but, the output is just usual.Any solutions for controlling the flow of features in the writer?

On our server we use FME Server 2013 SP3 (Build 13528 - linux-x64). We also use FME Desktop to make our workbenches. A colleague told me that I need to use the same version of FME Desktop if I want the workbench to work without problems. So I think I need FME Desktop 2013 SP3. However, I cannot find this version on the FME Download site, and I read that I need to contact support. Is this the right version for me, and if so, where can I download the installer?  Thanks in advance!

Hi,I have an Excel reader in my workspace that have 2 attributes (CurrentName and NewName). The value of "CurrentName" shows a list of attribute names in the another reader that already are exist in my work space and the value of "NewName" shows a list of attribute names that must be create in the workspace. I want to create new attributes that their name comes from "NewName" value and the value of new attributes comes from the another attribute that the name of it is similar to "CurrentName" value , for example: I have this Excel file: and add this file to my FME workspace as a dataset (reader1). In my Workspace I have another reader (reader2) that has "id" and "technology" attributes. Since I upgraded to 2018.0 nothing has been redirecting to the data inspector. I have to write everything and then inspect it, which can be inconvenient at times. Is there something I need to turn on?Thanks

Hi, I have a road network(polygon) from where I extracted the center line. But, since there are donuts and holes in between the areas, it is not getting possible to extract the center line on a medial axis using CenterLineReplacer, so I am using the straight skeleton mode. But, it has too many short lines connecting the trunk line. I have tried using topology builder and list element counter to find the junction nodes to remove the nodes having just 1 junction. But, since there are multiple short lines connected, it is still not possible.Is there a way to do it?

Hi Experts, I am working with FME 2018.0. I have a set of roads as per the traffic congestion while red being the most, green being medium and blue being least congested. I have to extract the roads as per the color as below:Out of red, green, blue- red. Only red is extracted out of red, green and blue.Out of green, blue- green. Only green is extracted out of green and blue.blue as it is.I have tried using GeometryValidator, Intersector, but seems none of these are working. Any suggestions, advices

Hello, I hope to back up all the data from my reader feature class into a CSV file, in case I would need to look up the data in the future. I used the FeatureReader with the parameter as shown in the picture, but the result CSV has each of my reader record increased exponentially. Not sure what happen in my case..

I'm accessing an API using FME and trying to fetch records by passing certain ids as a parameter to the API . For example the API is,https://developers.onemap.sg/commonapi/elastic/omsearch?searchVal=1&returnGeom;=Y&getAddrDetails;=YIn the above API, I need to keep on increment the value of searchVal=1 from 1 to 100 and then pass each to httpcaller to return the response.I'm able to do this using python caller and get the response using for loop concept. But, I want to do this without python and use any other transformers which does the trick for me.Any guidance would be appreciated.Thanks!

Good afternoon,Is there a new AVF writer that displays the updated attributes? Also, is there a way to edit the AVF writer attributes? Updating the attributes in the writer is grayed out and I am unable to update the writer. Thanks!David
