Hello,I've just installed FME on several workstations successfully, however, on one machine, I am unable to run FME from the command line. It just says FME is not recognized and an internal or external command... It seems part of the installation maybe did not complete correctly. How can I get windows to recognize FME as a program from the command line? Thanks!
I have CSV file in the character format with a value as shown here. I would like to change it into Date format so I will be able to date calculation later. I tried to use Dateformater. it did not work. is there any other transformer that I can leverage to accomplish this?
Hi guys, I am trying to read a data from oracle and I connected that as reader while checking connection test status is showing successful but while I try to fetch the table it showing "Failed to retrieve feature type".can anyone suggestion to override this issue? Thank you in advance .Regards,Saravanakumar
Hi all.I'm just being told, that we're importing 3D data (points, lines, polygons) with "missing" Z coordinates = 0.I need to delete each and every one of these values, or exchange them with the value -99.Is there a transformer that can do that easily ?I would rather not have to to explode all geometries to points, repair the Z, and reassemble all geometries.Any ideas ?Cheers
I was just wondering if anyone has done sunlight / shading analysis in FME? In Rhino 3d + Grasshopper, Ladybug and Honeybee are plugins that can do this. Below a few images. I know that one can do some interesting stuff with the surface footprint replacer, and change the angles, and thereby create shadows. But thought I would ask before diving deeper. Maybe another option would be to go the ESRI route. Ladybug:Ladybug Tools | Food4Rhino CheersFred
I have WGS84 WKT formatted geometries and have to convert them into LRMS geometry. Can anyone help what would be the best way to do it. I believe I have to first convert WKT to point location then I would be able to do conversion, but still how can I add manually built transformer into FME. Any idea can be helpful 😉
I have a workspace that can sometimes generate some NaN-valued Real64 data types (from the surface draper specifically). I'm really struggling with how to handle these. FME seems very inconsistent with how I can test them. I would like to test for them and terminate the workspace if they are found. So far I have tried:Attribute Validator by type (numeric)Attribute Validator by 'Has a Value' Attribute Validator by 'Not Null' Tester by all of the above The only thing I was able to get to work is a tester using @abs(@Value(MyMaybeNANAttribute)) < 0.00000000000000000000001where I just used the number on the right as an arbitrarily small floating point number. This evaluates to True for my nan values, so I can filter them out. However, this is not a good workaround because I can have valid zero value in some cases. I have searched the forums and the articles and I have not had a good explanation of how NaNs are handled in FME. Is there a way I can catch these with a data validator or a
FME(R) 2022.2.5.0 (20230329 - Build 22795 - WIN64 Hello Just detected this possible bug when importing Attribute Names / Values using Attribute Manager. The Names are pre-sorted and the "Sorted" option unticked as shown below. Once the dataset has been imported (Select * for Input/Output/Values) the values are set as shown below. Was I not meant to see the actual values or have I misunderstood this part? Looks like the Attribute Names have been set as values. If that's intended then what could be a potential use case? Original Attribute Names order / Table structure as defined in the Postgis Db ThanksSameer
Hi, I have two datasets, each with thousands of features, I need to check the spatial relationship between them, but if for example 2 features are the same, I would like that based on a certain field with the value of the year for example, it would always be considered the most recent year. Can you help me? Thank´s
I downloaded gml file of munich and want to use only few buildings, specifically TUM, from it. However the gml covers large area. How do I cut out the buildings that I want and remove the other buildings from the gml and then save it? I tried using "Clipper" transformers but I dont have any other information or files to use other than personally knowing that I only want the specific few buildings.
Hello, I'm reprojecting tens of millions of complex polygons from LL-WGS84 to Esri's USA_Contiguous_Albers_Equal_Area_Conic_USGS coordinate system. There are many other transformers in the workspace as well. Using the EsriReprojector, the reprojection works as expected but takes a very long time. Using CsmapReprojector, the polygons are 3ft (~1 meter) off from where I'd expect, but it's about 30 times faster (many hours!). I've noticed this difference between the two transformers before with any reprojection that has a datum transformation. Does anyone have any ideas that would allow the performance of CsmapReprojector with the results of the EsriReprojector? Notes:I saw another post where a user believes FME is not correctly performing a datum transformation between WGS84 and NAD83. - Could this be a mistake in CsmapReprojector?I have tried changing the Reprojection Engine from FME to Esri in the workspace parameters. The spatial difference seems to be present in an
I am able to complete the geometry transfer from GIS .shp to DGN v8 however the attributes from the writer are not available once the format has been changed even though the reader and writer seem to recognize them.
We have short Workspace to update attributes and geometry (polygons) and added the Dissolver transformer, but when run the polygons are not Dissolved. When run we get more tract in the output than when in. Cannot see why this is not striate forward. Thx
When I update the writer and uncheck "Lower Case Attribute Names" under Table Creation it automatically rechecks it after I close the window. I just want to retain the same field name format from the table I'm reading from.
Hello,In a model that I am creating, i would to expose attribute in the feature reader automatically . The idea is to use the same model for different dataset. I have seen that is not possible to do it automatically but I would ask you if it's possible to do that using the user parameters. if yes, please, can You explain me how to do?Or if there are some other ways. The input file is not stored locally and it's a zip file. Thanks to all. Max
Hey Everyone,I am a newbie in FME wonderland can anyone help me out how can I convert bson to json. I am using http caller to get data from our asset management system named Alloy by Causeway. Al the data is in bson format and i don't know how can I convert that into usable format. All the data is sitting under _response_body. Let me know if anyone can help or want any more details :)
I’ve been wrangling a large number of Shapefiles recently (almost half a billion!), converting them to a PostGIS database. A small command file calling FME (with return code checking) was just the trick and, after several days of processing, the job was done. The problem is… my record count on one of the output tables is larger than expected. ☹ After some research and experimentation, I’ve discovered that if you pass a polygon with bad geometry (in my case touching rings, which is fine in a Shapefile), it causes multiple records to be written to a PostGIS table! So, if a record has a polygon with 3 rings, not overlapping but touching, it would be expanded to 3 rows in the output table. FME does not report this in its output summary, which makes be suspect it’s a PostGIS behaviour in trying to deal with the bad geometry. Fortunately, in my case, any additional rings are always artefacts in nature and can be discarded, so my main question is how can I set a polygon to be its first ring o
Most of our automations are started by a FME-Server Schedule-Trigger. I would like to make a list with all automations and their start-times. I can get a list of all automations with the REST API, but how could I get all the start-times? Thanks, Vera
I have a COLLARS table with the following columns : hole_number, X, Z, Z; I also have a SURVEY table with hole_number, depth, azimuth, and dip. Currently I use the QGIS "Geoscience" plug-in with those tables, it does a nice job but it's static and I can't really schedule it. Any thoughts?
Hello!I've been struggling with the SharePointOnlineConnector transformer for a couple days now. I have set up a web service following the official tutorial (first I've set up one for Sharepoint List, then an identical one from the Sharepoint Online template as well). When using a Sharepoint List Reader I can successfully access the lists, but I can't access anything from the SharePoint Online Connector. I get the following error: "SharepointOnlineConnector: Error making request to https://graph.microsoft.com/v1.0/sites?$select=id,webUrl,name&search=: Access token validation failure. Invalid audience." The app I've set up in azure has the following permissions (might be overkill, but I'm just testing for now):Microsoft Graph (5)Sites.Manage.AllSites.Read.AllSites.ReadWrite.AllUser.ReadUser.ReadWrite SharePoint (7)AllSites.ManageAllSites.ReadAllSites.WriteMyFiles.ReadMyFiles.WriteProject.ReadProject.Write What am I missing here? Thanks in advance!
I have mxd file and I would like to extract layer names and each table names related to each layer FME 2021 Thanks in advance
Hello, I have been sent a SketchUp model that includes roads, cars, trains, buildings, and other features. I do not have a SketchUp license. Viewing with Inspector, all of these features are aggregated as one, so I cannot select individual buildings. What is a potential workflow to extract the individual buildings from this mass SketchUp model? My end goal is to incorporate these buildings as COLLADA (.dae) format to be used in an ArcGIS Pro Scene for land use planning and visualization. I know an appropriate workflow may be difficult to determine without having the attribute information, so even suggested potential transformers to use is appreciated. Thank you.
Hi everyone,This is a very specfic question and is targeted towards the persons who work a lot with dgn files in FME Desktop. I ask this question on behalf of my colleague. He is reading in a lot of dgn files in FME Desktop made by other persons from other departments and some drawings have a global origin that is not x = 0, y= 0 such as in beneath image. My colleague would like to derive these global orign x, y and z values so we can move the global origin of these dgn files to x en y =0. Does anyone thus know if the global origin x and y values are stored in some kind of parameters? When reading in the dgn files in fme desktop the global orign x, y and z are known (see image below). So it looks to me that these values are stored in some kind of variables.
