FME Flow

Dear all,  I have a question to the Transformer ArcSDEGridSnapper: http://fmepedia.safe.com/articles/FAQ/What-is-the-ArcSDEGridSnapper  How do I correct configure this transformer. In the Article above there are some picture with values. But they do not match together?  How important are the Parameters Min X, Min Y: Can this value be approximatly fit the values from ArcMap?  My problem is that every feature-class differs slightly, so I need to change the values all the time. Or is there a way to read the values automatically?  Thanks in advance

Hello,  I have published a wrokflow as Job Submitter Service and I am sending a service request with service mode as ASYNC. I get immidiate response that job submitted successfuly. I am not sure how should I capture the response from the actual execution of service whether it's successful or failed. Is the notification service is only solution?

Dear community,  I'm currently using FME 32bit on WIN64 with 16GB. To obtain better performance, I'm thinking on migrating to 64bit FME.  Can I exchange workspaces that were created on a 64bit FME with my colleagues who use 32bit FME? Is it right that the primary disadvantage of FME 64bit is the missing support for ESRI geodatabases compared to FME 32bit?  I read on an other topic that a parallel installation is possible. Are there any side effects by using 32 and 62 bit together on one machine?  Kind regards Thomas

Is there a way to work with Git on the FME Server to easy rollback to another version? On slide 24 is something mentioned: http://de.slideshare.net/SafeSoftware/implementing-a-simple-web-application-with-fme-server "Allows workspaces to be shared with confidence, placed under source control (e.g. Git), and configured externally"  Or what is a good workflow in context with FME Server to not disturb a productive system and develop/change stuff in the workspaces? Is there a tutorial/best practice paper or video? Or what are your experiences? 

Hi! I'm working on an FME Server based Upload Service, that should give feedback to uploaders via e-mail. This works well if the underlying workspace runs successfully, however, if the workspace fails I'm having problems getting FME Server to communicate with the uploader via e-mail. I need to get FME Server to communicate details of the failure (read: log) etc in an e-mail, not to sysadm, but to the 'user' directly. Subscriptions like 'JobSubmitter_Email_JobFailure' only send e-mail to sysadm on failure. Anyone know how to do this?

Hi there, I have to make some reparations in my client's app. He is still on FME 2013, however I upgraded to FME 2014. The 2014 compilation (of course) doesn't work under FME 2013. I decided to downgrade, but cannot find an istallation package for download. Could anyone help? Thank you in anticipation,  J.

I have a workbench that contains two FMEServerJobSubmitters which run based on an attribute value. When I run the process within server with the attribute vale of 'X' the correct server workspace runs and finishes successfully. When I use the value 'Y' it gives an error that no FME floating licenses are available.  Processes X and Y are identical, they are taking data from SDE and clipping it to output to shape and dwg, just using different data.  When I run the original workspace from the desktop everything runs successfully.  Why would one part of this process give a license error and not the other part?  I don't have any problems with licenses running any other processes.

Hi,  I've just been trying to play with the google engine api, and the FME 2014 reader/writer functionlity.  I'm stuggelling a bit with the oAuth refreash token.  the dialog that FME provides is blank, (white and empty) so I can't use it to generate a token for me, so.  1) can some one debug why my dilog is empty (i suspect proxy issues, i have set my paswords in the tools>options) 2) how can i generate a code to paste in to here outside of FME....  and maybe  3)  ideally this would be for deploying onto server in the end, what ports do I need open to support oAuth and googles spatial engine.  Nick

Hello,  I'm trying to upgrade to FME Server 2014 by producing a backup in FME Workbench. It fails to read the features when I try to include the scheduled tasks. I've previously noticed that in the web console only 100 of our tasks are displayed and we have nearly 500 setup so I think it might be to do with this. Is there a limit and how do I get round it if there is and do the backup?  Thanks,  Peter.

I received this error when installing FME Desktop 2014 (20140120 - Build 14235 - WIN32) on Windows Server Standard 2008 SP1 (64 bit).  I clicked ok, and the installer finished without any other errors.  FME opens up and seems to be working correctly.  Should I be concerned about this?     I later looked at the system requirements for FME Desktop 2014 and noticed Windows Server 2008 SP2 or above is required.  http://www.safe.com/fme/fme-technology/fme-desktop/tech-specs/ 

I have an attribute "Address" from which I want to flag (and not trim) the left and right (Leading & Trailing) white spaces.  What I want exactly is, a new field is created automatically and if there are any leading and trailing white spaces in the attribute, just put 0s and 1s in that newly created field. Can we do that in FME?  Thank you in advance !

Is there a way in FME Server 2013 to email the entire log of a workspace job?  I setup the notification/topic/subscription to send an email after a job completes, but all the email says is success or failure.  I want the details on what happened right there in the email.  As far as I can tell the only way is to Python shutdown script that runs after the workspace closes.  It would read the logfile for the job, check if there was an error or warning messages, and if so use python smtblib to email the entire contents of the job log to me.  I guess the other benefit of this is I can provide the To: email address as a dynamic parameter of the workspace.  I plan to use the same workspace dynamically for different datasets. Based on which dataset its working on, email that dataset's maintainer directly.   Is there a more straight-forward out of the box approach?  The FMEServerEmailGenerator and FMEServerNotifier seem close, but I'd need the l

Hi,  I want to run multiple workspaces in a row on FME Server. I found this example (http://fmepedia.safe.com/articles/How_To/FME-Server-Workflow-Management) and wanted to test it on our FME Server. But it doesn’t work. The child process always starts with the default parameters. It appears that the FMEServerJobSubmitter doesn’t send the parameter to the child process.  Has everyone experience whit the FMEServerJobSubmitter? I run FME Server 2014 build 14234 64bit on Windows Server 2012 R2.  Thomas

Just upgraded from 2011 FME ESRI edition to 2013SP1 x86 ESRI edition build 13450.  Had several workbench scripts that were working fine in the 2011 version, now the 2013 ones won't work. I've got ArcGIS10.0 SP1 installed, Win 7 x64, SDE server reading from is ArcSDE 9.3.1 SP something, writing to ArcSDE 10.1 SP something (no, not every server is the same). When I run the older script, it gives a fatal error of: The error number from ArcObjects is: '-2147220969'. The error message from ArcObjects is: {Must be the owner to perform this operation.} I've changed nothing in the original script, nor have I changed the password or anything on the SDE databases and am using the data owners - as evidenced that I can access them both thru ArcCatalog. Is there something that has changed drastically with the new version and how do I get these to work?  Also, when writing a new script or adding a new writer, it was writing all of the data into

Hello all! FME Server 2013 Web UI seems quite slow, when trying to go to Repositories and to configure a published workspace. Running a workspace also seems to last forever, when running it from the Web UI, although the job itself takes only few seconds, when looking at the log file. Everything else works fast, like Jobs, Notifications, Schedules, Security, etc.  FME Server build is 13264 - win64. FME Server is installed with the express install on Wndows Server 2008 R2. Could this be problem in the environment? Has anyone experienced similar problems?

Transalation using Fme desktop 2012 fails error  - Oracle client libraries could not be loaded. Ensure the client is installed and properly configured. Check the System path Environment Varialble. The Path variable seems to be ok - the Client can connect to the Oracle database - Some issue between the Application and version of Oracle installed.

Hello,  Using the FME Server publishing wizard from FME Workbench, I configured my workspace to run whenever a topic was notified (subscribed to topic).  No errors were generated during completion of the wizard and the FME server web application shows no errors in the configuration of my subscription.  However, the workspace is never run when the topic is notified.  After hours of digging thru the logs, I finally found a warning in the '..\\logs\\notifier\\subscribers\\push\\push_XX.log' file:  WARN     802009     : Invalid target url for push notification: 'https://servername/fmenotification/UtilityStakingOperations/ProcessIncomingUtilityStakingEmails.fmw?opt_servicemode=async  I have no idea what's wrong with this url.  If I paste it directly into a new browser window and log i

The zip file sent by email from download data service , expire after a day from the date of sending the email , how can we conrol this duraction to allow the link to be working for a week .

Have anyone tried to have both FME Server 2013 and FME Server 2014 on the same server? Since they both contain a webserver etc I suspect it will not work?

Hi ...  How can I check the availablily of an FME license using python?  I want to make sure a license is available before executing a series of arcgis and fme steps.  I think I've seen it somewhere on fmepedia before but I can't find the thread now.  Ken

Hey all,  I have four workspaces that are designed to run one after the other through a notification service based on if the previous one was succesful or not. Now this works perfectly when manualy activated, but I need to transfer the process over to a Schedule as to make it run sometime during the night so it does not bog down the FME Engine. But, when this is done, it only runs the first workspace in the process and negates the success message to start up the second one.  Does the Schedule service not work well with the Notification service?

Hi,  The data download service on our FME server has started to return URLs with http://localhost:8080 instead of the server name. I can correct the URL in my app, but I'd rather get the service to return a correct URL.  I remember seeing an article about how to change the download URLs back for Server 2012 but I can't find it now. Where do I find the settings for changing the URL? (I've already tried changing the URL pattern in the services settings).  Thanks!
