Is it possible to control the order of worksheets when writing to Excel? I have four worksheets:  - page_1 - page_2 - page_3 - page_4  But the Excel document that gets generated has the order:  - page_2 - page_1 - page_3 - page_4  Thanks

Hi! Im trying to open a CSW file, but it doesnt seem to be georeferenced correctly. It also comes with a mapinfo .tab file containing the referenced gpc points. Hi there. Constructing a workspace, but I need the user to choose a field from the source (of which the field names may vary), which is used later. I've started using a schema reader and was thinking it would have to be some sort of published variable. Any ideas?

How do I transfer primary and foreign key relationships during the translation of database tables from oracle to sql server?

I want to create a bounding box from grouped points (by permit number).  I used the BoundingBoxAccumulator and in the inspector it comes out great except that it also is writing out the points!  When I try to save this into the SDE as a polygon feature class, it fails and says that it doesn't accept multiple types of geometry...  I also want to save out the points as well =, so how do I seperate out the points and lines into 2 seperate feature classes (appending existing).  Origionally, In ArcToolbox, the tool I used was "Minimum Bounding Geometry", if that helps....

Hi!  How do I change the output format "datetime" in Excel_ADO writer? In the reader the date is on YYYY-MM-DD format but when i'm writing it into Excel_ADO the format changes to YYYYMMDD000000, probably on the format YYMMDDHHMMSS.  How can I get the Excel_ADO writer to print it in the ouput file on YYYY-MM-DD format instead?  Best regards  Christer

Hi,  I have a geodatabase reader looking at 1 feature class. I have edited that feature class and my workbench is not picking up the changes. I have: Updated the reader feature types Removed the reader and added it again Moved the reader to a new gdb and added it again Deleted the temporary files in the c drive  It is as if FME is looking at the previous data that no longer exists?

i have an esri geodatabase with a point feature class with an attribute A This attribute A has about 50 different contents (like A1,A2,A3,A4,....) Each content has its own symbology. Now I want to convert them into dwg and each content should get a different autocad_block. How can I do that in FME? (because in the DWG Styler I can choose only 1 BLOCK) I need about 50!!!  Greetz and Thanx FRanco

Hello,  (i'm running Fme2014 sp1 - and looking for an answer within this release)  I'm posting data via http to a remote service api that requires a multipart stream consisting of a image (photo) and 4 parameters (metadata against the photo, description,title etc)  the problem I have is that the receiving service checks the file type to ensure it's of a type begining with 'image/*' (where * could be any of the image types), however for some reason the httpmultipartuploader is passing the image as 'application/octet-stream'.  Is there any way to force the transformer to use a different type?  or failing that can any one suggest another method of acheiving the same thing?  thanks for any help in advance....  Nick

I want to use ID to query Oracle table and create a shape file from that result.  Currently I am using CSV reader to read csv then querying database using FeatureReader (in where clause CODE=@value(ID)) and writing to shape file. My problem is I am not able to get attributes in shapefile.  How can I export attributes as well of selected features.  Cheers

Hi, I wonder if you can help me, I have a NetCDF file containing daily rainfall data (given in julian days, i.e. 1 = 1st January, 32 = 1st Feburary, 60 = 1st March [not a leap year]). I am trying to aggregate these values by month and output them as ASCII files, I was thinking of just using a simple lookup table to convert the julian day to month, but am struggling to figure out how NetCDFs are read into FME and how I would go about this and also outputing the result as an ASCII grid. Best wishes, Ed

I have a number of lidar files in LAS format that I want to convert to one compressed LAZ file. I can read the LAS files with one reader, but when I use the ASPRS Lidar Data Exchange writer to write, it writes multiple LAZ files. This is true even if I set the Compress Files parameter to Yes. How can I get just one LAZ file?  Thanks

Hi ,  I have a featureclass stored in a SDE Geodatabase. How would I go about witing a txt file with one column containing the features geometry in Oracel (MYSYS.SDO_GEOMETRY) format?   I assumed I would use Geometry Extractor, but there doesn't seem to be an oracle geomtery encoder included?  Would I need to write the feature to another Oracle Spatial database then extract the information from that?  Many THanks  Bkicker22

Is there any way to determine the width (in coordinate units) of AutoCAD multiline text output?  I need to offset the text to the left for callout tags where the leader line leans to the left of the item they are describing (subtract width amount from x coordinate) - but I have yet to figure a way to extract the "rendered" width of the longest line to do so.

Hi FME-ers,  With Desktop 2013, is anyone familiar with a workflow I can use within FME to populate two attribute fields (in a stormwater pipes layer), with corresponding IDs from a connected stormwater pits layer which is snapped to the start and end of each pipe.  The pipe layer is digitised in direction of flow so I would be looking to populate the corresponding upstream and downstream pit attributes to reflect this.  Note: ESRI used to have a VB Script which did this but it is no longer supported in 10.1.  thanks!!!

I am running a workflow using various transformers on data (eg. BulkAttributeRenamer, AttributeCreator etc) is there a smart way to retain the feature data types through to the writer?  When connecting the writer, I copy attibutes from the previous transformer and it lists all columns as "text" "200". I do not want to have to manually change the type in User Attributes.  Cheers!

HI All,   How to send an output from a workspace to fmeserverjobsubmitter.   For Instance I am having a workspace which checks if a field exists in a feature class if not then notify the user.   If I publish this workspace in the server and use it using fmeserverjobsubmitter how can I access the output   How can I achieve this ?   Thanks

As I have to run the same script for many shapefiles I wonder if there is a way/transformer to name the newly generated output shapefiles (dynamic) automatically the same way as the input shapefiles. I am new to FME and appreciate an answer which I can follow easily..  Thanks a lot!

Can anybody explain the workaround for when FME runs but reads the previous Writer that was there.  Explained: I have .MIF files that I download from a GPS and input into FME every week.  FME is reading my last weeks file count when it should be reading the new file?  Even when I erase and re-add the new writer, it still reads my old ?  The features have the same name but I thought FME should recongnize it is a new Writer (because I erase all files in FME and re-add NEW) and thus have different feature counts.  Is their a CACHE somewhere in the workspace where I can empty to solve this issue? 

Hi,  Is there a way to compare schema between ArcSDE Feature Class and File Geodatabase Feature Class . Schema(Any format) works for file geodatabase feature classes but not for ArcSDE Feature Class . Can anyone tell me if there is a FME approach for this ?  Thanks and Happy Christmas to all

I just want, if the user runs the WB from 'Prompt and Run Translation', he can select valid dates from the respective  input colum. Suppose there are dates from 1/1/2014 to 1/2/2014 (DMY), he should be able to selelct from and to dates according to his needs and the output should show only those section of dates and other related columns also.   Please feel free to ask questions if i am unable to explain !!!

Hi. I’m having some problems with the 3D-bufferer. When I run the 3D-bufferer on some of my data sets I get the log error shown below.   The data sets consist of 2D lines created from coordinates through the vertex creator (the 2nd picture shows an example from the inspector). Some data sets work with the 3D-bufferer but many don’t. Any ideas what input could be causing these issues?
