Hello everybody, i am pretty new the FME. so please dont bash if this is actually a simple question. I would like to intersect a Digital Elevation Model with 3D-Buildings. What would be the preferred data type (TIn, Raster, Triangles...etc) of the DEM (i have got a regurlarly spaced point file .xyz with z-values and breaklines in an esri-shape) to intersect it with the buildings (which i have in a CityGML-file)? As a result i would like to get the lowest point of each building, which i will use to calcalute the height of the buildings (the roofs i ahve already...). Thanks for any suggestions about what kind of DEM and transformers to use... Greets Patrick
Hello, i am trying to convert an skp file into a gml one, following Citygml principles. During the inspection, there are 3 attributes:1)citygml_feature_role 2)citygml_feature_role_attr_name 3)citygml_feature_attr_value, that no matter what i change in attribute creator, have the same writings:1)cityobject member 2)missing 3)missing. Can someone please explain me what am i doing wrong? Thank you very much
Hi! I know it is possible to convert VRML files into 3D PDFs using version 2015. But is it also possible with the 2014 version? Best regards, Alex
I have shape file with buildings (poligones) and a LiDAR pointcloud (las file). I would like to know and detect if the buildings geometry are changed. How i can compare my point cloud to my shape file to locate for example new building or if a buildings is bigger? I tried with hullaccumulator but the poligone created is not very accurate and i can't detect changement on my buildings... Thanks
Hi, is it possible to creat differents input and output ports in a pythoncaller? if it is, how could we do? Thank you. Yann
Hi all, I am currently trying to add a gml:id attribute to all my CityGML geometries in FME. I can easily create this attribute for each object (i.e. PlantCover, Road, RoofSurface ...). However, when I want to assciate a material to a surface, I need to grab the id of the surface (i.e the geometry gml:Polygon). How can I do that in FME ? Best regards, Asher
Worspace runner reads a feature type (SDE feature class) and I'd like to pass the line feature and its attribute - one feature at a time - as part of my translation on the worker workspace using a Workspace Runner transformer. I know the features will enter and exit the workspace through the workspace runner from within the runner workspace but how can I use it inside the worker WS? There is another reader with multiple related feature classes with the feature type, from the runner WS, in the worker WS that is translated with each feature from runner workspace. On each feature from the runner, an attribute named featureID is needed for the where clause parameter of the reader feature types inside the worker workspace, how do I implement this in the Main workspaces? On the Workspace Runner tranformer that paramater looks like this Parameter column: "FEATUREID_TO_PROCESS" ; Value column: @VALUE(featureID). I tried creating a User parameter in the runner WS and used Apply
I would like to know if it's possible to read pipes invert elevation from a Civil 3D file using Civil 3D reader. It seams that I can't see this information in FME Data inspector but I hope there's a way to get that attribute out of Civil 3D files. Same thing for Structure insertion rim elevation. I'm using Edition: FME Desktop Oracle Edition (floating) 2015.1 with Win64 Thanks for helpin' !
Hi all, Could someone tell me how can I put non-spatial features into a shapefile? Here is an screenshot: (as you can see, with inspector they are found 4 features, but once I check the Shapefile, there are just writen two features) Note: the original Shapefile has spatial and non-spatial features inside. Many thanks, JuanM.
Hello! How I can tranform shp file with "height" to citygml lod2 model with roof and textured wall?
Hello All: I am creating a workspace that translates an Autocad .dwg cad file into an xml. The workspace works fine. One of the validation I would like to do on the cad file in the workspace is to check if the input cad (.dwg) file is a 3d or 2d file. I know how to check the dimension of each of the cad layers using DimensionExtractor transformer. But I want to check whether the cad file itself is in 2D or 3D. I have been researching all of the Autocad Reader Feature Type Propoerties. One of the Format Attributes that might be able to give some info on the cad file's raw dimensions is autocad_dim_flag (or autocad_dimension_flag). Unfortunately, I have not stumbled upon any available documentation on how to extract any dimension (2D or 3D) info from the cad file. Any help/sugggestion is highly appreciated! Thank you!
I've gor an ascii raster that I want to convert to a xyz file. This should not be to difficult now should it?! I get this errorr: POINTCLOUDXYZ writer: Failed to obtain point cloud from feature. Only features with point cloud geometry are expected A fatal error has occurred. Check the logfile above for details
We are beginning to process Travel Time probe data using INRIX and Excel. My question is if there is any documentation on the use of FME and probe data?
Apologies for this very simple question, but I don't seem to be getting a Help tab in my 2015.0 Desktop. From a previous version (2012?), I seem to recall that when you selected a Transformer in the Transformer Gallery, a Help tab/box would show you the basic instructions for that transformer. However, I can no longer see it. And when I select View --> Windows --> Help, I can switch on/off any of those windows, except Help. I can tick it and untick it but nothing happens. Could it be that it is an undocked window, which sits outside my screen boundaries? If so, how can I get it back in view, so i can dock it? (Note I can still access the FME online help, it's just this window within Desktop that seems to have gone) Fingers crossed there is a very simple solution...
Hi, On the FME Server I get an error when writing to SOSI. "504 ERROR 0.0 9.0 2014-12-12 08:44:20 BADNEWS: File C:\\apps\\FMEServer\\Server\\fme\\metafile\\SOSI.fmf could not be opened (tabrdr.cpp:1048)" A workspace is tested and works well on FME Desktop of course. Is there any special setup for GeoSOSIprofessional when working together with FME Server? Tips?
Hi all, We're currently processing a 1.6gb jpeg2000 file. We're applying a clipper to break it down to a 4x4 grid and then resampling using bilinear interpolation within the RasterResampler transformer. Its setup to clip first the resample. All files are running locally. The issue is at current estimates, per grid cell will take 40 hours. Strangely enough, we processed a 1.2gb jpeg2000 file a while ago with same setting presumadly, and took 19 hours for the entirety of the project. Not sure whats happened. Wanted to ask if any has tips/tricks to improve speed or recommend different transformer combinations. Cheers,
Hello All, I couldn’t figure out why the API writer produce a feature class without Shape area and shape length in their attributes. Best Regards, Ahmad
Hey, So I'm curious why all my writers to geodatabase sde always say <not set> everything writes out just fine but more a just wondering sort of question. Also It seems that (though I might be wrong) because its not set I can't seem to get a workspace runner to run the said workspace. I have a two step process I'm trying to use a workspace runner to run them both one creates the layer in DEV then the next one sends it from DEV to PRD. So I have to wait for the first workspace to finish before the next one starts. Currently just run two bat files (no fme server). Though I could be setting up the workspace runner model wrong as I have no experince in using that transformer. I notice that i dont have a destination perameter when setting up the workspace runner to run. Thanks.
Hello all, I was wondering if anbody has any experience in adding additional files to a zipped data downlad result in FME Cloud. According to this article : http://fmepedia.safe.com/articles/How_To/Including-Additional-Supporting-Files-in-your-Output-ZIP-File-Desktop-Zipster The data writer should be adapted to the File Copy writer, but since the results for a data download registered workspace are automatically zipped and have each time a different location, I was wondering if I can actually reverse the recommended way and associate the File Copy writer to the dynamically created data location? I am going to try this myself but wanted to know if anybody succesfuly did something similar and would like to share the method. Itay
Hello, I am working on a reader, that connects to a remote database and receives a .gml file. Because I do not want to implement the CityGML specification, the received file is forwarded to the CityGML reader (provided by FME itself). IFMEUniversalReader* additionalReader_; additionalReader_ = fmeSession_->createReader(kSysCityGML, FME_FALSE, directiveReader); additionalReader_->open(dataset_.c_str(), *params); dataset_ stores the path to the received .gml file. However, I have no idea how to adopt the feature types to my reader during the read operation. The read method contains a simple forwarding: additionalReader_->read(feature, endOfFile); Using this code I get a warning each time the reader is running: Unexpected Input: During translation, some feature were read that did not match a reader feature type in the workspace. This can happen if the reader dataset if changed, or a reader feature type removed or renamed. Of course this message makes perfect sense, since my r
Hi, I am using Google Sheets new reader with 2015.1, I am finding that I have two problems that might be interconnected: 1. When bringing a sheet into a workspace, using several tabs from that sheet to verify data passing through, on the first run the attributes are read from the first row and everything is fine, but then eventually the attributes change to column letters instead of the first row field names.. not sure why it changes or what triggers it but only starting a new reader fixes it. For reference, the feature type still has the proper attribute names, but if I inspect right after the feature type all attributes are coming through as 'A' 'B' 'C' etc... 2. Any fields with formulas in them, specifically the vlookup formula come through fine until they reach a featuremerger to merge with the data I am using the spreadsheet to QC, after the featuremerger the formula fields dissapear.... they go into the feature merger and they do not come out on the &#
Hi Guys, easy question: I want to write an excel file and want to have a sheet for every different attribute entry. (like a fanout) I haven't find a fanout yet.....how can i do that? Thx Franco
Hello, Is there a possibility to disable the casesensitivity on the writer site? I am working with an AIXM Writer, with Attributenames in CamelCase (like validTime). I get all Attributes in a CSV File in UPPERCASE (like VALIDTIME), and my Writer can't assign them because of that. Is there a Parameter I don't know of, to make that possible? (I am working with FME Desktop 2015) Thanks, Melanie
Source is a shape file (point) with certain attrbs....(screenshot) GNR is a parcel nr. which i want to show with an arrow to the parcel (because these are little parcels and there is not enough space for the number) ROT_GNR is the rotation for the number RW_PFNR and HW_PFNR are the coordinates for the number (because they are different to the coordinates of the point) thats all clear but I've tried and tried to get this right but i have no ideas left because i have to place this in an AUTOCAD block called GNP screenshot 1 shows the block in AUTOCAD as it should be screenshot 2 is from blockeditor from this block: as you see the arrow has Layer PN screenshot 3 also from Blockeditor as you see the number placed in Layer PNA and thats my challenge....I cant find the way which attributes i have to fill (inserts, rotations, block_insert, text_inserts,etc....) because there are two layer definitions in one block and as a source i have one shape file. Sometimes the arrow app
