I'm using fme desktop 2018 (18586) on ubuntu 18.04 and that was working perfectly. After an update on the system, fme workbench isn't initializing anymore but the other applications are working fine(data inspector, license manager, and quicktranslator)

Hello,We have fme 2016.We have two engine servers, on each one 4 engines. What is the algorithm for choosing engine to each new job will be assigned? Let's say that we are not using any routing tags.   

Root certificates are automatically placed in “C:\\Program Files\\FMEServer\\Utilities\\jre\\lib\\security”. This is where the keystore is and also our self-signed root certificate with others. In “C:\\Program Files\\FMEServer\\Server\\fme\\ssl” we can find only the PEM file which is obtained from Mozilla (public root certificates). Unfortunately we cannot find anywhere how to use the keystore instead of a standard PEM file, as FME takes only public root certificates. Now we made some changes in the PEM file to import the root certificate. But how to officially import an Self-Signed SSL certificate in keystore on FME Server? Kind regards,GeoJan 

Hi all, I have a list of urls (50 in number). For each url there are 10s of thousends requests to be made.12 engines in my fme server.What I want to do use 5 of fme engines to run the jobs in parallel - so 10 jobs each engine.How can I do that?At the moment I have:xls reader -> sampler2 (first 10 urls) -> FMEServerJobSubmitter1 (submit in sequence, wait to finish) , sampler2 (connected to sampler1,not_sampled port (first 10) -> FMEServerJobSubmitter2 and so on. But it just runs the 10 jobs on one engine in FMEServerJobSubmitter1 one after another.

I'm having the following issue. The FME server engine can't access ESRI license in order to read / write to GDB. Although the ESRI license is clearly available (I can open and use ESRI products on the host machine). License type is set to Floating (concurrent) and borrowed for 30 days. Error message for SDE writer is:The Esri Product license 'ArcInfo' is unavailable because all licenses of this type are currently in use. Unable to perform licensing related tasks. Please ensure that ArcGIS is correctly installed.And for GDB message looks like:An ArcGIS license is already checked out. The product checked out is 'ArcInfo' . Installed ArcGIS version is '?.?' Unable to connect to the File Geodatabase at '[some_location]'. Make sure the correct filename was specified, and that the geodatabase wasn't saved with a newer version of ArcGIS than the one installed locally. The error number from ArcObjects is: '-2147220952'

Does anyone have an example of a system architect diagram where FME is being used to validate and transform CAD data into GIS? Just looking at what the best practices are around the key components in an enterprise system.

Hello, I have few workspaces created in FME 2016. If I would run them as they are in FME 2019 would they use old version of transformers or new (potentially with some improvements)?

Filter tasks can be added to FME Server 2019 Automations, as demonstrated during the FME World Tour.The example shown during the WT was filtering incoming Shape file datasets after a Directory Watch trigger had fired so that the subsequent workspace would only process files with a .shp extension. However, when the Automation logs are viewed, it indicates that a filter.fmw workspace is being run to apply the filter. Does this filter workspace tie up an available Engine license? If so, could it cause contention on a system with only 1 available Engine?

I am trying to install FME Desktop. And I am getting a which reads, "The cabinet file cab7.cab required for the installation is corrupt and cannot be used. This could indicate a network error, an error reading the cD-ROM or a problem with the package". Could anybody please help me on this?

I work a lot with Power BI and now have a request for a weekly report using information that is best run through FME ... so my idea was to automate running the workspace using windows task scheduler, have FME export an excel document that replaces the older version every time the workspace is run, import the excel sheet to BI and then put the BI report on a refresh schedule ... There are several problems though: Does anyone have any obvious, obscure or creative solutions?1. The workbench is saved on a mapped drive and I'm hesitant to put a copy on my personal drive, though I'm not ruling it out. The task scheduler (and cmd prompt) cant seem to find the file when I try through the mapped drive. 2. I've set up a schedule in Windows Task Scheduler but it doesn't seem to be running properly. Even if it says it ran successfully, no excel table is exported, like it does when I run it in the FME application. (I've also tried to do so in command prompt, bec

We are in the process of setting up a new license server for ArcGIS and FME, and I'm struggling with getting the FME license up and running.I have read https://knowledge.safe.com/articles/19459/arcgis-and-fme-on-same-flexlm-license-server.html and https://knowledge.safe.com/articles/19460/specify-port-numbers-used-by-flexlm.html and have adjusted the FME license file to run om port 28001 (leaving ArcGIS to use the default ports). Using LMTOOLS to get server status, it says that the service is up:--------Status--------Flexible License Manager status on Mon 2/11/2019 16:48[Detecting lmgrd processes...]License server status: 28001@A05-P1-LI

I'm trying to licence a new installation of FME Server, but I keep getting these errors if I upload or request a new licence respectively. I'm sure my license file is valid. Whats going on?The license file failed to uploadLicense request did not succeed   

I performed an upgrade of FME Server from 2018.1 to 2019, Windows 64 bit Server Express installation. Post install, I can get to the FME Server GUI but cannot log in to it. Hi I am trying to install FME Desktop 2019 onto an off network laptop Windows 10. Attached is the error I get during installation. I tried installing an older version of Desktop 2018 and this also gave me the same error. Then it rolls back and undoes the install.

Hello,i am attempting to roll out a silent install of FME 2018. The documentation is very good so i usemsiexec /i fme-desktop-2018.1.2-b18590-win-x64.msi /qb INSTALLLEVEL=3 INSTALLDIR="%programfiles%\\FME" ENABLE_POST_INSTALL_TASKS=noto run the installation.Unfortunately i get a message/ interrupt with a file in use error (i use /qr instead /qb to view the error). Is there an other switch to prevent this message? Best regards, Martin

Sometimes FME Server (2013 SP3) loses connection to the License-server. Is it possible to get an e-mail when there is currently "No active engine" on an FME Server installation? This should be possible as now we have to manually check now and then to see if FMEServer is "up and running"!

After installing FME Server 2018.1.2 ( Build 18590 - win 64 ), I'm getting the following erro message wehn trying toreach the Webgui from the server ( http://localhost/fmeserver ). Where can I found a log to solve that issue ?

Hi everyone,I use FME daily in many crucial processes I have developed here and I am running into quite an issue.I have done some research here but don't think I found anything exactly the same as what I have so I will explain. I have just been moved to a new Win10 64bit Machine. I do a lot of processes to and from Smallworld and different types of ESRI environments as well as a lot of Database reading and writing.I find any process I am writing or using that has been written in the past that involves reading or writing from an Access Database is crashing especially on the writing to the database aspect. I get the following as it crashes:Microsoft Access Writer: Unable to find provider 'Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0', falling back to 'Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0'. You may recall that FME Server 2016+ has integrated a “Failover” mode. As a result, Safe Software has discontinued issuing the previous independent Failover license files in 2016+.  We still frequently receive failover license file requests from both clients and partners. Please be advised that anyone requesting an FME Server failover license via the new server licensing will receive a message stating, “Note: Failover license use is no longer supported with this version of FME Server. For up-to-date details, please contact your account manager, local partner or ." They will automatically receive a 60-day temporary license.  This notification was scheduled to appear Monday, February 11. Please note that this is only for FME Server 2016+ requests. Hello, We have a server on which we have 4 engines installed. FME Version is 2016. In our setup on FME Server we have main workspace which is responsible for some preprocessing and then it submits child workspace using ServerJobSubmitter.  In some cases this child workspace also has ServerJobSubmitter because it processes huge data set and if we didn't split it into several runs then we woud get out of memory exception or have other problems. It looks quite nice but in some cases (probably when few jobs are executed also on other engines) in that child workspace we have an error:FME license system failure: The maximum number of concurrent FME instances specified in the license has been reached (-508)   What can be the reasson for that? ServerJobSubmitter is set to wait for jobs to complete

I have uploaded my python dependencies (various .py modules) to FME Resources as is described here. Resources are uploaded and updated using the rest api.My FMW's can then see the resources and use them. When I update or replace an existing module however the engines continue to use an older version of the module. Rebooting FME server resolves the problem but is obviously not a great solution.Any suggestions on how to get the engines to see the newly uploaded resources? Clear cached versions of python code?
