@rahulsharma and I just troubleshoot FME Workbench not opening on a Windows 10 machine that has an NVIDIA graphics card. There were no warnings or anything when trying to get the program to open. The mouse would spin for a second and that was about it. After a lot of trial and error, we found that changing in the NVIDIA Control Panel from "High Performance" graphics to "Integrated graphics", FME opened right up without issue. Hope this helps! Make sure to add each application (even do it for the Help to actually open). If you know of a better way, I'm all ears.

Hi everyone,I’m running FME Flow 2026.2 and looking into how to restrict access to its MCP server to approved users signing in with our organization’s Microsoft Entra ID / Microsoft 365 accounts. Ideally, we would manage access through Entra users or groups and support MFA and Conditional Access policies.I came across known issue FMEFLOW-29112, concerning MCP OAuth authentication with Entra ID. It is currently listed as unresolved across all versions, with an alternative identity provider suggested as the workaround. Before deciding whether to upgrade to 2026.3 or add another authentication layer, I’d appreciate some guidance:Has this been fixed in a newer build or hotfix, or is there an expected release for a fix? What is the recommended setup today for restricting an FME MCP server to our own organization’s Entra accounts? Does every MCP user need to be provisioned as an FME Flow user through SAML, or can access be managed directly through Entra? If a gateway or an identity provider s

When using an SQLCreator or an SQLExecutor, and something goes wrong (for example the query takes longer than the timeout-limit, or something like that), you can use the Rejected port on the transformer to catch that - which is imperative when using in a webapp, because you’ll need to give the end-user feedback. On the Rejected-port you’ll get the _reader_error attribute, but the way that one is populated is not very helpful. The contents of that attribute are always An error has occurred. Check the logfile above for detailsIt would be very helpful and much more meaningful if the contents of the Provider error, which is always in the previous log file line, was added. Because then I could catch that and show that to the user:(-2147217871) Query timeout expiredwhich is much more helpful than “check the logfile above” (there is no above - there is nothing, because this has been handled through HTMLReportGenerators to return to the end user’s browser). On FME Form it’s not a big problem, b

Hi, I am new to read the CAD files in FME. May I please get an example of a CAD file and how to read in FME - basic steps to follow

Hi everyone,I'm working on an FME automation to update existing telecom conduit geometries using surveyed locator points.Current workflow: Surveyed locator points are provided in a CSV file containing latitude, longitude, and Record Index. I use VertexCreator and LineBuilder to create a surveyed line based on the Record Index. Existing conduit geometries are retrieved from an API. I'm using SpatialFilter and AnchoredSnapper to identify nearby conduits and adjust their geometry to follow the surveyed line. The challenge:The surveyed points may follow a single conduit or multiple connected conduits. The CSV does not contain conduit IDs, so the automation needs to determine which existing conduit geometries should be updated. There may also be connecting conduits near the surveyed route. When the main conduit geometry is adjusted, the endpoints of connecting conduits need to move accordingly to maintain network connectivity. For example, in one test case, two connected conduits need t

Hello, I’m new to FME, and I was assigned a simple task to convert some json files to csv files so that they could be easily loaded into ODI.It’s like: json:{  "projects": [    {      "name": "Project A",      "tasks": [        {"id": 1, "title": "Design", "status": "Complete"},        {"id": 2, "title": "Development", "status": "In Progress"}      ]    },    {      "name": "Project B",      "tasks": [        {"id": 3, "title": "Research", "status": "Pending"}      ]    }  ]}csv:name, title, statusProject A, Design, CompleteProject A, Development, In ProgressProject B, Research, Pending I’ve spending 2 days on it and still don’t have a clue how to do it. Thanks in advance for your help.If it is possible, would you please provide a fmwt? Big thanks again!

I am trying to extract some GIS data from an IFC file containing manholes, pipes and ducts. The IFC file have some small gaps at bends, like this: I’m extracting the top facing faces in the IFC and simplify to one polygon per IFC element. I still get these small gaps in my GIS data:I have tested the Generalizer with a lot of different algorithms and settings, but those that seem to be able to remove these (like the Wang algorithm) removes my Z values… Is there a way to simplify or smoothen the data to remove these while retaining the 3D area boundaries?

I have a set of workspace apps on our Flow to convert data between file formats. After upgrading our installation in test, I experience some strange behaviour: While uploading data to convert, some files are accekted, while others are rejected.  Looking into the network data using the developer tools, I find that the accepted files gives a response like this:{"serviceResponse": { "statusInfo": {"status": "success"}, "session": "3cc570c6-2d66-4d66-86af-22c6a2f56696", "files": { "path": "", "file": [ { "size": 1531, "name": "file name.kof" } ], "folder": [{"name": ""}] }}}The rejected files gives this response:<html> <head> <title>Request Rejected</title> </head> <body> The requested URL was rejected. Hi everyone, I have a workspace which exports a map as PDF using the featureWriter set on Adobe Geospatial PDF. When I run it in FME Workbench, my map looks exactly as it should (I have different parameters that set page size and orientation). For example, running it with the parameters Landscape, A4, returns exactly that. However, upon publishing on FLOW and running it there, I always get my page as Portrait, with a very small horizontal map on it. I pasted the examples below. I will also paste the settings of my FeatureWriter down below, in case I missed anything. I have made plenty of workspaces so far and I never had this issue before. Also, the pdf_page_pts field is getting populated everywhere, therefore I don’t think it’s a missing attributes kind of thing.I’m using FME(R) 2026.1.0.0 (20260311 - Build 26103.

When outputting ESRI Enterprise records on FLOW 2026.2.1 via FeatureWriter with Dynamic settings and supplying ‘native_data_type’ attribute{} payload and ‘fme_format_short_name’ attribute (supplied from a FeatureReader schema port that connects the original data table) the workbench run generates masses of warnings around data-type mismatches whereby the fme_data_type is being attempted and not aligning with the target data-type:FLOW messages on data-type mismatchFollowing details from Dynamic Workflows: Destination Schema is Derived from a Schema Feature – FME Support Center on initial testing results in the above messages. I have attempted to remove the fme_data_type and force recognition of the native, without success. What is missing for the engine to honour the ‘native_data_type’ directive?Attribute output payloadThe fme_format_short_name is “SAFE.ESRI-AGOL.ARCGISFEATURESERVICE”The ‘native_data_type’ payload for each attribute is correct from the source table - it is the self-same

If possible, it would be great if there was a ‘Success’ output port on Writers (I don’t mean FeatureWriters), so that you can use that to initiate subsequent processes.  I often need to control the order that processes need to run between different datasets.I tried using FeatureWriters and FeatureReaders, using the ‘Summary’ and ‘Initiator’ ports, which works fine in Workbench, but there’s apparently a bug in Flow when outputting to an ArcGISFeatureService.

Can anyone give me some advice on getting GIS-styling symbols and polygon fills using the AutoCAD DWG writer?I’m not an AutoCAD expert but have this week been getting to grips with concepts such as blocks. With help from a colleague, we’ve managed to create a template with blocks for a range of point symbols and got my Form script to output points to a layer referencing the appropriate block name so that an appropriate symbol appears. Note: I have too many symbol types to put each on a separate layer. Is this the use of blocks to implement cartographic symbols a sound approach? The next thing I’d like to do is have some symbol fills for polygon features. e.g. trees representing woodland. What approach would be best to implement what would be a simple custom pattern fill in GIS software? I’m already aware than Form outputs simple polygons as normal, but complex ones (e.g. with holes) via sequentially named blocks. What about using custom hatches? Finally, I’d like my AutoCAD drawing to ha

This...may be complicated to explain. We are trying to create Feature Service webhooks in ArcGIS Enterprise. ESRI documentation indicates that this can either be accomplished with the admin Portal (which very few users have access to) or via the “administrative API”https://developers.arcgis.com/rest/enterprise-administration/server/create-webhook/The only way to access the administrative API is to acquire a session token (SSO, username/password, other authentication types are not accepted). In ArcGIS Enterprise, the generateToken endpoint is no longer used, the OAUTH2 “Token” endpoint has superseded it. There is a preliminary authorization step that must be completed before accessing the “Token” endpoint.https://developers.arcgis.com/rest/users-groups-and-items/authorize/https://developers.arcgis.com/rest/users-groups-and-items/token/Authentication in our environment is done via OAUTH2/SAML so when trying to access the “Authorize” endpoint via an HTTPCALLER, the response that I’m gettin

I just installed FME 2026.3 Workbench and Flow for testing MCP server. While building the workspace, I ran into a annoying problem: A necessary output option is missing !How do I know it’s missing? Because I’m comparing what I see to the just published webinar yesterday.(I can’t upload images, so here’s my description)Webinar: 6 options in the MCP Writer: Audio Content, Embedded Resource, Image Content, Resource Link, Structured Content, Text ContentIn my workspace I only see 5 of these, and the one needed for this - Structured Content - is missing !Can this be remedied, or is it a bug? Please advise. Cheers.

Hi everyone,I am facing an issue with FME Flow 2026.2 where an OpenAPICaller transformer is unable to fetch data from an internal service due to Kerberos authentication failing. Here are the details of our setup:.The Service: A "Data Virtualization" service hosted internally within our corporate network. The Environment: FME Flow is running locally/on-premise within the same corporate network (Local / Firmennetz). The Problem: The OpenAPICaller cannot authenticate via Kerberos, causing the data retrieval to fail.Has anyone successfully configured the OpenAPICaller (or underlying HTTP/web connections in FME Flow) to work with Kerberos authentication in a local network environment? Are there specific environment variables, or FME Flow service account permissions (e.g., SPN / Active Directory delegation) that we need to configure to make Kerberos pass-through work?Any help or workarounds would be greatly appreciated! Best regards,Michael

Hello there,I’m a new FME user and trying to get into custom functionality via the PythonCaller transformer. I’m using VS Code as my primary code editor and I set it up in the FME Options menu.My problem is, that VSCode keeps showing me the onboarding dialogs (Login to Github Copilot, Choose theme, ...) everytime I open the PythonCallers code in the external editor.I did a little bit of digging and found out: VSCode is called by FME Form with a temporary directory. (Flag: --user-data-dir). In that directory information about how VSCode is setup is stored.  Is there anyway I can get rid of this behavior and it just points to the standard user-data-dir or the option is left out completely? I did not find any option to disable this behavior in the FMEOptions, so I’m asking here now.  Thanks for taking the time, Johannes

Hi,This concerns the Oracle Reader. When a workspace created in FME 2025.x is opened and edited in FME 2026.3, I encounter an unexpected error with Oracle Readers. We have Oracle tables that contain two SDO_GEOMETRY columns. Until now, it was possible to specify which spatial column to use directly in the Oracle Reader. This still works in FME 2026.3, but only until you click Update Reader. If a spatial column is specified in the Spatial Column option after updating the reader, the following error occurs:ORACLE Reader: 'Spatial Column' and 'Handle Multiple Spatial Columns' cannot be specified together In previous versions of FME, the Oracle Reader had an option to specify whether the table contained multiple spatial columns. This option is no longer available, so I don't understand why this error occurs. The workspace still runs if no spatial column is specified in the reader. However, in our case, the reader may select the wrong column, resulting in no usable geometry for the subsequent p

Hi,Regarding FME 2026.3.I have a WFS reader that retrieves geometric data. When I attempt to save this to Oracle, the geometry is not being saved, although the attribute (non-geometric) data is.In the writer, if I set the schema definition to "Manual" under the "User Attributes" tab, the name of the geometry field is highlighted in red—indicating that it is not being recognized. It appears that the Oracle writer fails to recognize the geometry (the same applies to the Oracle Feature Writer). With the GeometryNameSetter the goemetry is found but the geoemtry type is not found. If I save the data as a Shapefile or a GeoPackage, the geometry is recognized correctly.if I perform the exact same process in FME 2025.2, the Oracle writer successfully writes the geometry. It seems that the Oracle writer has been modified in version 2026.3. (or some 2026.x version before) and does not recognize wfs geometry. How can I ensure that the Oracle writer recognizes the geometry?

I have 3D points (XYZ), with some attributes. The points have fixed distances; Z: 0.5m, X: 50m, Y: 20m. There's a "stack" of 200 points at each location. I want to convert these points into voxels, with a dimension of 0.5m*50m*20m (ZXY) per voxel. The output format must be netCDF.However, I can't get it to work. I managed to write a file ArcGIS Pro recognizes as voxel layer, but nothing is visible. Another attempt is recognized as multidimensional data (in 2D) only. In both cases I used NumericRasterizer, and the netCDF writer seems to accept only raster data. Can it write voxel data, and if, how? Below are some screenshots for clarification. Points in 2D - the blue line is 20m; red is 50m (perpendicular to the rows); the pale yellow area is what I’m using for my tests (the dataset has about 1.8m points in total) Points in 3D Mockup with point symbology - desired result 2D netCDF

If I understand correctly, since the latest update, FME can include multiple geometry columns from an Oracle table in the workflow without much hassle.Previously, it was necessary to manually set "Handle Multiple Spatial Columns" to Yes in the reader settings (if I remember correctly). Now, it seems that this option is set to Yes by default for readers, as my version of FME now loads all geometry columns without me having to configure anything. I also can't seem to find the option to enable or disable this anymore. This is actually quite useful, but in my case, all geometry columns under User Attributes → Geometry Definition are greyed out, so I have no way to specify that I don't want to include all geometry columns. When I try to specify which geometry column I want to use under Parameters → Spatial Column, I get the following error:|ERROR |Error running translation: ORACLE Reader: 'Spatial Column' and 'Handle Multiple Spatial Columns' cannot be specified togetherAm I just missing some

Dear QGIS and CAD Users,  I would like to convert a shape (shp) file to dxf. The shape file is a city map, which includes parcel numbers. How can I convert from shp to dxf  in such a way that the parcel numbers appears on the dxf too?  Thank you , Peter

It seems to me that the Map Configuration window doesn't work (or show) anymore when using the Geometry Picker in 'Full window mode'. I can also imagine that technically the window/menu does work/show, but is placed behind the 'full/expanded window' of the Geometry Picker, causing it not to be accessible/usable. To be clear. What I'm talking about is this menu/window, which does work when using the Geometry Picker in 'Inline mode';However, when I use the Geometry Picker in 'Full window mode', nothing seems to happen/show if I click on the Map Configuration button. E.g.;Are others also experiencing this issue? Is this a known bug? ps. I'm using FME Flow 2023.0.0.1 (b23288) on Linux.

I have a simple FME Flow automation: Trigger → Run workspace (generates excel report) → Emailer Generated excel doc has dynamic name with the date: Reprot_YYYYMMDD.xlsxI know how to email attachment with the stable name but can’t find the way to attach document that always has different name. Because in Action block and in Emailer block0 I need to specify Destination Microsoft Excel File and Email Attachment.  Could you please advise if this is possible and how. Thanks!FME Flow version 2025.

I’m using a ChangeDetector to compare a field called ‘notes’ between a Viewer layer and a Collector layer. They basically have the same features, the Viewer layer is more of a catalog with some slight schema changes. The goal is to update the Viewer layer with any changes that are made to the Collector layer. I built the whole workspace in FME Form and tested it repeatedly with many features and everything worked as planned. I identified changes in the Collector layer and wrote them to the Viewer layer. Great.I go to publish the workspace to FME Flow and run it, and it fails the first time with the message:“ArcGIS Online Feature Service Writer: 'updateResults' error for a feature in 'my_layer'. The error code from the server was '1000' and the message was: 'Operation failed. The index entry of length 2256 bytes for the index 'notes_Index' exceeds the maximum length of 1700 bytes for nonclustered indexes.'” I finally discovered that a subset of features (about 3,691) from the Collector

Hi,I’m using FME Workbench (2025.1.3.3) to transfer data between different databases. The workflow is as follows:Creator → FeatureReader → DatabaseQuerier → FeatureWriterThe FeatureReader reads one feature from the source database to initialize the process. The DatabaseQuerier then executes a query against the source PostgreSQL database and returns the actual data to be written. The schema attributes are passed through the workflow, and the FeatureWriter writes the resulting features to an existing table in the destination PostgreSQL database. The problem occurs when one of the source columns has the PostgreSQL bytea data type. The source and destination tables have the following relevant column:geom byteaWhen both the source and destination databases are PostgreSQL, FME does not appear to transfer this binary attribute correctly. With Bulk Insert enabled, the FeatureWriter fails with the following PostgreSQL error:ERROR: missing data for column "geom"The log also reports:Bulk copy failed
