Tolopoly Builder wont break polygon

I have two polygon datastets and i send them to the Topology Builder so that they will get break at the intersection. However it does not give the result I expected. My expectation would be a similar result to thearea on area overlay my output looks. The overlapping area are not broken. Any idea what i may have been doing wrong

Naviswroks to FBX to multipatch gdb?

Hello,I have a Navisworks 3D file of our facility that needs to be viewed in ArcGIS Pro and published as a 3D Scene. We exported it out to a fbx for City Engine which is then exported to a scene layer package to be viewed in ArcPro and this “works”, but we have a only layer with zero attribution. Is there a way I can either use the original Navisworks file or the fbx to break out the all the features withing the facility and create an output as a multipatch gdb? sorry for my noobnessthanks in advance.-C

'Split Complex Annotations' when reading ArcGIS geodatabase annotations

I'm trying to read annotation feature class from ArcGIS file geodatabase. For further processing, I need to check 'Split Complex Annotation' and 'Split Multi-part Annotation' in the reader.The annotation in ArcMap looks like the above image. It's in vertical alignment: baseline, horizontal alignment: center.While after importing from FME reader, it becomes to:Any safer partner could explain how FME calculate the anchor point of spitted text? seems the anchor point set to right bottom corner. And will the split consider the ArcGIS alignment setting?

How do you Split Complex/Multi-Part Annotations while maintaining text geometry?

I’m trying to use FME to split out any “Complex” or “Multi-Part” annotations that exist in the dataset and have the “Complex” or “Multi-Part” deleted and insert the split records as new annotations.On my FeatureReader, I have both "Split Complex Annotations" and "Split Multi-Part Annotations" enabled and I am able to delete the old records and insert the new records. However, I’m running into an issue with the geometry of the newly inserted records.From another post it looks like FME splits complex annotations tries to preserve the location of the text but loses other text placement characteristics like the original complex text geometry (lines) and converts them to a point for each split text item.'Split Complex Annotations' when reading ArcGIS geodatabase annotationsIs there a way to create or preserve the complex text geometry for these split records? How to replace FeatureReader transformer?

I need to extract TAB or Shape file from S3 and read data from it including schema.I have discovered in this articlehttps://community.safe.com/data-7/how-to-extract-the-actual-shapefile-from-featurereader-geometry-and-attributes-14548?tid=14548&fid=7that FeatureReader apparently can’t read all attributes that are in the file, until I expose them. But what is I don’t know the list of all attributes? I don’t know what exactly will be uploaded by other people to S3 bucket, I just need to read the file. Could you help, please, to identify the correct settings of FeatureReader or another way to extract data?

Where to add feature index to reader?

Hi, I am trying to make a simple WS (with only one transformer) to change the schema! Translation runs successfully but I dont see the final gdb . The error on the Inspector is showing that "failed to specify the feature index as constraints on the reader". What should I add and where? Both my reader and writer are File Geodb Open API.

Google BigQuery Connector and Auth

We have not been successful in setting up a web connection for our GCP environment. Therefore, we use JSON key files.Has worked just fine via a PythonCaller to read the file and fill in GOOGLE_APPLICATION_CREDENTIALS. If we had a need to write to a different GCP project we would change the project_id in the JSON file.However, we were contacted by billing recently saying that since we use the project in our JSON file that another area was getting billed instead of our ETL project.We tried to fully qualify using the project id and then the schema in the writer, but that did not work. It always assumes that you are writing to the project in the JSON file.Is there a way around this issue?

According to the GE Documentation Smallworld 5.3.3. has been officially tested/validated with FME 2023 version 2023.1.2.We would like to upgrade our current FME Server and FME Desktop 2021.2.x 32 bit.To consider FME 2023.2.3, I would like to know if there are any modification to Smallworld Translators between the versions, 2023.1.2 & 2023.2.3?

How to find radius of roads less than 13 meters?

We have a polygon dataset with roads and we need to find the roads than are less than 13 meters turning radius. We kan also create centerline dataset with the polygon. We imagine that someone out there has done this before. We need this datasett to find which roads the fire trucks will have problems to drive.

Merging implicit parallelism in an automation ?

Hi.I have built an automation with some business logic consisting of 4 chained workspaces (W4). I duplicate this automation for each new dataset I need to run, using a single global variable to control the data being handled (SQL Server schema name).However, one customer has 4 such setups, which gives me some problems when coordinating the 4 automation runs, and I would very much like to just have to run a single automation for each customer (with multiple schemas).I’m thinking that I could use the global variable to define a separated text with all 4 schema names, using a single workspace to split this into 4 outputs via an Automation Writer feature type, and start my 4 workspace chain (W4) for each value.However I’m unsure how to merge the 4 W4 runs. How will a Split-Merge block (or Merge action) handle such runs ? The content inside the block is just the 4 chained workspaces, but they’re being run 4 times in parallel.Has anyone attempted this, or have any insight into merging works

Hi there,I have an Ascii grid file.The FME can read the file I have also added a Raster Cell Coercer transformer to create a shafile this simple workbench works fine. FME Message #706501

Hi, as a newbie in FME, I am using a FME ISO8211 reader to expose some of the attributes for further transformers. However, if all records have to be read, a message “Message #706501 is not present in the message file: Parameters are >< and FME HOME is >C:\Program Files\FME\<” was prompted and the whole process was halted. The FME version I am using is FME2018. Thank you for the kind response!

Value of attribute could not be converted to type 'timestamptz'.

I am trying to upload ifc data through PostGIS Writer and while doing so, I want to generate and store the time of upload as well. However, it gives the following error: “Value of attribute 'begin_lifespan_version' could not be converted to type 'timestamptz'. Feature will be logged and skipped.” can someone help? I am a beginner in FME as well.

FME bug causing failure in Workspace Runner, multiple datasets

Hi all, Since upgrading to FME 2021, I have found previous workspaces that were working in 2020 are now not working. This appears to be when multiple datasets are referenced in a WorkspaceRunner and through a user parameter. It concatenates the filepaths together and loses the double quotes and separation, causing the reader to fail. Any help would be appreciated. Kind regards,Jack

Transposing Using the postcode and question number as a pair, possibly a list?

Morning, I am trying to transpose some data from a survey, I want to sort of Pair up the Postcode and the Question Number, then have columns of Responses with counts. Ive attached images and a fme workbench of the original data and the output I want. I have 36 questions, so want to know if there is a way to do this using a list? So I dont have to repeat this 36 times, I am not understanding how to do lists!I want to output the postcode as a column, then have a question number column. Writing Geometries to an Attribute in MongoDB3

I have a complicated collection of features stored in mongo db, where a given feature may have multiple unique geometries stored as individual arrays. I would like to use the “Put” Operation in the writer to replace specific features. MongoDB writer with nested documents

I am working with MongoDB trying to upsert nested MongoDB documents. The JSON format would be something like:{“name”: “XXX”,“tables” : [ {“name”: “XXXX”,“num_rows” : 3423,“fields”: [ {“name”: “XXX”, “type”: “yyyy”} , …. ]}, ….] I have no problems when I use a JSON string attribute inserting a new document with Document Source”: Json Attribute” and Insert operation.But, I do need to UPDATE existing features.In this case, the nested dcouments (tables in the json above) are created as plain strings. Which is a real inconvenience in my use-case.{“name”: “XXX”,“tables” : [ “{“name”: “XXXX”,“num_rows” : 3423,“fields”: [ {“name”: “XXX”, “type”: “yyyy”} , …. ]} “ , ….]Valid datatypes do not currently include arrays (of objects) Is there any alternative or workarounds?

How to connect all the right points while not including the

Dear, I want to link all the lightposts to the nearby road segment. I used a buffer around the road segments and then Neigborfinder to do this. Now I am afraid that some lightposts are not linked to the roadsegment but I am not eager to increase the buffer or neigborfinder because maybe lightposts that should not be linked will be included. Is there maybe another way to bypass this? Or some tips you could give me?

I converted my Autocad Map 3D files to integrate them into my database using the 'Raw relational' mode because my data has multiple tables and one entity with several attributes. Currently, I would like to convert them back into Autocad Map files while preserving the original file structure. I'm stuck because I can't recreate my different tables (Table A and Table B). Features do not display EPSG:3006

Hi,I use FME form through ArcGIS Data interoperability workbench and I work with the national Swedish coordinate system 3006 Sweref 99 tm. I cannot display these features with the standard background maps and get: This does not happen in the regular FME Form and they display without problem there. How can I solve this in ArcGIS DI workbench?Is the standard FME Form able to do some kind of on the fly reprojection to view the features on the standard base/background maps? Best regards,Karl

Why is the workspace field empty after hitting [apply] in dynamic workspace dialog?

When in automations you work with the dynamic workspace runner the workspace field blanks after hitting [apply]. It is annoying and confusing because some times the chosen parameter value is not forgotten and some time it is forgotten!? I believe this is a bug but have not seen any mentioning of this in here. So appologies if this is a known issue expected to be solved in next release!Before [apply]:After [apply]:
