I am using the FME objects python API including the FMEUniversalReader. fmeobjects.FMEUniversalReader — Python FME API FME 2024.1 b24615 documentation (safe.com)In the documentation for this API it says to pass “Reader’s type mneumonic as found in the FME Reference Manual Part II” but the reference manual isn’t linked.It isn’t in the admin guide: FME Desktop Administrator's Guide (safe.com)And Safe Docs just link back to the python API Search (safe.com) which doesn’t actually tell me the mneumonics.When I pass it’s reference in the UI for FME Form I get this error in my python caller.This FME edition does not recognize the `ARCSDE GEODB' reader. Please ensure that the current platform supports this reader, the reader name is spelled correctly, and that you have installed all required plug-insThe reason I am doing is because of this issue; AreaonAreaOverlay with intersecting features | Community (safe.com) and using the python caller seems like the best median to keep this in FME.

I have a glut of features of multiple types coming in from a handful of .ifc files. I am attempting to write a transformer as a proof of concept that will allow me to filter the features (currently 174000+) to different writers based on a small difference within their source filenames. Basically what I want to know is if it is possible to use the text editor to create an “if filename contains text (abc)” filter. If not, what would be the best way to filter for something like this.

Hi.I have a workbench equipped with several runners. I want to send myself an email upon completion of the workbench, detailing the duration each runner took. I implemented a DateTimeStamper at the Succeeded port for each workbench and attempted to merge this with the creation instance, but it failed to function as expected.I would like the result to include the duration each workbench ran and the total time upon process completion.Any help is greatly appreciated.

I have a complex workflow where a specific attributes, i.e. “PositionID”, which are referenced across multiple transformers. I need to rename these attributes to another name throughout the entire workflow. Manually opening each transformer to change the reference would be very time-consuming.Is there a way to quickly rename this attribute in all transformers without having to edit each one individually? Any tips or tools within FME that can help streamline this process would be greatly appreciated.Alternatively, next time I create a project can I set these up as parameters or variables and reference them that way and hence change them more easily? Thanks

Hello all,Today I fell into a rabbit hole with the HTTP request action in Automations (2024.1).As the Action lacks the parameters key-value interfacing of a fully fledged HTTPCaller, I needed to build-up the parameter-part of the URL in the text-editor.There, some URL encoding happens. Spaces are substituted by %20 at least. But I was unable to parse a GeoJSON as the [ ] were not encoded. When I manually url-encoded the parameter values, the encoding (%) was encoded(%25) , so I still did not get a valid GeoJSON from a manual-trigger-Geometry parameter to a parameter in a workspace REST-webhook.I remember around 2016, the default server.xml in a FME Server installation did allow for non-encoded brackets through an exception in the <connector>. That has long gone in the standard install. Using Kubernetes, even if I wanted to, I would not know how to put that back.So:Has anyone figured-out the encoding which does occur (which and when)?  @Safe: Could we please have reliable full enc

FME(R) 2023.1.1.0 (20230928 - Build 23631 - WIN64)I have a simple scripted parameter script in workbench to return the value of a deployment parameter and I’m wondering if there’s a bug in the interface. When I drag a user parameter onto the script canvas the code generated contains FME_MacroValues, eg.FME_MacroValues['SomeUserParam']If  I drag a deployment parameter, dpTest, onto the script canvas the code generated looks like$(dpTest)Here’s the script. The commented code fails; if I manually correct $(dpTest) to FME_MacroValues['dpTest'], it runs: # Get the archive folder from deployment paramimport fme#arch = $(dpTest)#return archreturn FME_MacroValues['dpTest'] Is this a bug? I have a summary query with GROUP BY, HAVING, and ORDER BY clauses and I would like to send an email with the results from this query. My workspace can send html results of a query of listing all the records but that is not the summary I’m looking for. The Aggregator transformer doesn’t seem to have what I’m looking for either. Is there a way to send the result of this query shown below? My data is in SQL Server.  SELECT caseID 'ID', count(*) 'Count'  FROM my_table  group by caseID  having count(*) > 1  order by count(*) desc 

Hello, I am struggling with conversion of several thousands of XML files (same scheme, but different attributes) in to single Excel/CSVThe tool works fine for single XML but not for multiple at once,The XML has nested levels so I am using xml_Id and xml_parent_id to navigate thru and join tohether with featurMerger tool.This is on the other hand the reason why I am struggling with the batch processing - since when  multiple files are processed at once, the xml_parent_id is the same among files and the so data are ovewriting themself, or they are rejected in the feature merge with multi-reference error. Don’t you know if there os a way how to proceed? To run one by one, for example with Loop in ArcGIS works but it’s soooo slow. Thank you!  

As title says, unable to convert lat/long to MGRS when latitude is -80.01 through -81. e.g., x= ‘100’, y= ’-80.1’ . I’m sure this isn’t the exact range but am able to reproduce the error.Was wondering if someone had additional information on how transformer calculated polar zones and, if there is preprocessing required for points located in south and north polar regions?Additionally, lmk as comment if you’re able to reproduce error in other FME versionFME Form 2023.2 

Hello, Here is what I need to do: I have a workspace that includes the Emailer Transformer. When a file is placed in a folder and email is sent to the recipients notifying them that there is a file in the folder. The workspace works great. But, if one of the email recipients changes or needs to be removed for whatever reason, I am contacted and must go into the Emailer Transformer and manually delete the recipient. I would like to allow a user to open a spreadsheet of the email addresses and alter/delete them there rather than having to contact me. I need some help in getting started: If I have a list of email addresses in a spreadsheet, how do I include it or reference it with the Emailer Transformer? For example, if an email address is deleted or added to the spreadsheet, when the Emailer is going to send an email it will send the email to the list of recipients in the spreadsheet. Looking for some ideas on what transformer(s) I would need to use before the Emailer.

I have installed FME Server on a machine called "fmeserver-dev.com" and also used this as the hostname.Later we switched everything to SSL (including the Websockets) and the external web host name to "(https://)fmeserver-prod.com".  Now, everything (Web UI, Services, Websockets...) is working fine, except the Topic Monitoring!  Using the Developer Tools of a web browser, I have identified that there is still a parameter 'webSocketServerName' set to the old hostname "fmeserver-dev.com". This must be causing the issue as the SSL certificate is not configured for that domain. How can I fix this?

I am attempting to add a Geocoder transformer to spatialize address data using a published geocoding service on ArcGIS Server. When running the address data to the transformer, it rejects every feature with “Code 403: Access to this resource is not allowed”. The REST URL and Portal credentials are all correct and I am able to get to the service in a browser, as well as access and use the Locator in ArcGIS Pro to geocode addresses. With that being said, I don’t know why access to the resource would be disabled in FME but nothing else. Any insight or suggestions would be appreciated, thank you!

Hi!I would like to create a workbench with a lot of flexibility for the users. I use a FeatureReader with a spatial filter. I create a user parameter to chose the system of coordinates. So I would like to use it on the Featurereader but there are no option. Do you know a way to indicate to this transformer the system of coordinates? I suppose the spatial filter will work if the datas are in the same system but I would prefered to force it.Thanks !

Hi! I have an automation with an email trigger, and I want to use the emails subject in the FME Form workspace, how do I do that?  

(We use FME Flow 2024.0.2.1)I have an automation with about 20 actions. In the first action, a folder is read. The files it contains are the input for the other actions (written out with a automation writer, input parameter for the actions: route.xy)However, it should also be possible to start the automation with the manual trigger and specify a file as a parameter, which is then used as input in the subsequent actions.But this means that the input parameter for the other actions is not route.xy, but manual.xy.Is there a way to set the input parameter for the individual actions so that the correct path is used in each case (route.xy or manual.xy)? Or do I have to duplicate all actions and set route.xy for one half and manual.xy for the other (after the manual trigger)?Thanks, Vera

I have had success in connecting to my corporate Sharepoint with the SharePointOnlineConnector using the web connection as set up in this HowTo: How to create a Sharepoint Web Connection (safe.com). Now I want to connect to another Tenant for which I have been granted access, but the connector only presents me with the Safe Template version for my web connection - even though I have set up and succesfully tested a new connection with a new name. I tried testing on a new machine, with no previous connections, and imported the new connection via xml then tried to add the web connection from within the transformer - same issue - the dropdown list doesn't show me the newly created connection (no matter what I call it):Can anyone advise on what needs to be done to connect from a selection of web connections for sharepoint?

What I try to do is to download a raster from a WMTS to use it as a background image for a report. I do not want to download the entire service, only a part to use as background. The result I get is only working on very zoomed out tile matrices, like 04, where the resolution is not useful: On deeper levels the FeatureReader is downloading a lot of tiles, which takes a very long time.The WMTS I use is a Dutch one, in epsg:28992. I wonder if I am doing something wrong, or this is never developed / tested for this coordinate system?The point is on 147513.92, 523126.09.The WMTS is https://service.pdok.nl/hwh/luchtfotorgb/wmts/v1_0?The Layer is Actueel_orthoHRAttached the 2023 workspace. 

Hello, I need to switch to a new machine. I save my workspace files under a designated directory, which has been transferred to the new machine. I am wondering if there is any important configuration file would need to copy over (e.g. some database connection, web connections, where those info stored?) and where usually to find the file?I am using FME workbanch 2023.2.3.Thanks.

I have two table that I am trying to keep in sync. I want a target table to match a source table. But I am trying to avoid deleting all rows from the target and reloading it. The source table is in our CIS (customer information system) Oracle database and the target is in our GIS Esri Oracle database. I am using a CRC calculator to find rows that are identical. Then I have a writer to delete rows from the target that have been updated in the source and to delete rows that no longer exist in the source. Then I have a second writer to insert rows that exist in the source but do not exist in the target or have been updated in the source. The delete writer is based on a single key column.Okay, so it is important that the delete writer commits before the the insert writer. I have tested it and the delete writer does appears to commit first. The tables are synced properly and the FME logs show the delete writer committed first.
