Working in FME Workbench v.2024.2I am working on a process that validates my metadata format and converts it if needed, then exports the final format to xml for backup. We are trying to ensure all of our metadata is in ISO 19139, but we know some feature classes are FGDC CSDGM Metadata. We would like to use FME to convert the format and then update/write to the existing feature class's metadata in our enterprise geodatabase with it. Secondly, we want to also create a backup of the xml file which will be saved to a local folder. I have done this using an "Attribute File Writer" and only writing the geodb_metadata_string to a .xml file, however, when trying to reimport it into ArcMap/ArcGIS Pro I receive a "Failed to import metadata" alert. Comparing it an export directly from ArcGIS it is clear they differ. It seems like FME is converting it to their own format when reading it in.Any suggestions on either of these processes would be appreciated, thanks!

Hello. I’ve read an old closed thrad saying that there was an issue on virtual machines with FME 2023/2024.At our side we did not experience any issue on virtual machines with FME 2022-2024.But we just installed FME 2025.1.1 and get this issue “SetThreadDescription entry point not found in Qt6Core_fme.dll.Any idea? Stille the same issue?(It is on Windows 10 Pro)

Hello everyone,I looked at thread DGN writer RGB color | Community and I am dealing with the same problem.Ideally I would like to get the RGB color (true values) instead of the colorindex from the color table.I read in the above thread that true color should be available from FME Form 2023 on, but I still get the index number from the color table. Iam using FME Form 2024.2.1 by the way.I do the following thingI have a dgn styler configurated as follows in the Writer I use a seedfile with RGB values for the layers Output is    Am I doing somethign wrong or are true colors not yet available in FME 2024.2.1?

I am quite stuck on a problem with the Esri Geodatabase (ArcSDE Geodb) writer in FME 2025.1 and would appreciate any ideas.I am using the writer in update mode and not updating the spatial column.The error is only on FME Flow and not FME Form. Error updating feature for the table/feature class '<feature class name>'. Check the geometry of such feature is valid and is not too small for the resolution.I tried removing the geomerty before the writer since no geometry is being updated - same problem.The FME Flow Server has ArcGIS Server 11.1  installed rather than ArcGIS Pro 3.3 as on the desktop. [Edited with version numbers ]The feature class has archiving so I am little nervous updating the records directly with SQL.Any thoughts?  

In the Esri ArcGIS Portal Feature Service I can reference a Feature Service in the parameters with the service name and an ide.g.But in the Esri ArcGIS Feature Service it’s not possible without a group? Is this correct?Is there some secret syntax i’m missing?

These cutlines must have a consistent length and be positioned within the overlapping areas of the map sheets. So in the newly generated output file there is al column with the name of the Output Port and a column with the value from the TestFilter.Desired outcomeI know it is possible to do it by hand, place a AttributeCreater behind every port and fill in the Output Port name. Hello, I have an Excel Spreadsheet that I need outputted in a specific format. I am only working with 175 records, so I could complete the customizations using Excel in a couple hours. But, I wanted to run this by the FME Community first. Here is a screenshot of the spreadsheet output format I need:Column names must be bold. Col A cells need to colored yellow. Col A cell values need to bold and red. Whenever there is an X in Col A then the entire row needs to be bold red The APN column needs to counted with the total shown in the row of the above screenshot.At this point I am not looking for specific instructions on how to set up a spreadsheet like this. If you can provide any that would be helpful. I know I would use the Excel Styler Transformer. Maybe the Aggregator Transformer to sum the APN column, But can someone provide me at least a general idea on how to set up a spreadsheet like this using FME? is it possible? I am reading a dwg with object data table in it. I set the mode to Group by Object Data. (set the workflow options to single merged feature type)I then created a tester to distinguish which features have been attached to the table. (tester_8). Then i use an attributekeeper. The OD table attributes are not available in the keeper. Then attach the same exact tester (tester_11) and all of the features fail. If i remove the attributekeeper the features route correctly. Also after using data preview correctly and viewing cache in the attributekeeper, the data preview will never show the OD table attributes again (add the reader again)Also setting additional attributes to expose does not stick. Each time i go in to the reader and update features i must add all the attributes to expose. These two problems seem to be related to each other. 

FME Form Excel writer warns of reserved characters, where none exist, in the names of my Named ranges and appends underscores to them. I am getting a lot of warnings similar the following:Excel Writer: Feature Type '/AH_4_3_Housed_Part_Time_Replacement' has been modified to '/AH_4_3_Housed_Part_Time_Replacement_' to avoid reserved characters for Named Ranges and Tables in Microsoft Excel This is unhelpful behaviour, can I avoid it?2025.2

In the column 'knoopnr', each feature consists of a fixed ID (in this example 'HT005500') and a variable ID (B1, B2, BL1, ...). The fixed ID is therefore identical for every row within a project, but it differs from project to project. In another project, for example, the fixed ID could be 'KWL735' for every row. Is it possible to identify the fixed ID and retain only the variable ID?

I am trying to read geometry of the leader lines from the Pro Annotation feature class.In the attributes which I see when loading it in the Data Inspector, I only see geodb_text_leader_line_anchor_point which contains correct coordinate but no geodb_text_leader_line. Does anyone knows if reading of the leader line from Pro Annotation is supported?I am using FME 2025.1.0.1.I tried changing reader parameters “Split Multi-Part Annotations” but it makes no difference in the way annotations are red.

Hi allI have been batting my skull against this for some time and havent been able to come up with a solution.I have about 60 datasets (and will be receiving about 60 every month from now on) where every line has a date and a time and a value containing a number. See attached file. its a dataset from a callcenter where every line is and hour and the number is the number of staff that are answering phones. the number of staff varies from hour to hour and from callcenter to callcenter. but the dataset only contains date hours where a staff memeber has been checked in, if none have checked in here isnt a line. My task is to find the ‘missing’ lines/hours where no staff has been active to monitor if the callcenter has been unstaffed when it shouldnt have been. I cant figure out a way to find these missing lines and add them in an automated way the i can use over and over again. Has anyone tried anything similar and found a solution?

Is there documentation on where the various logs for FME server live? And also something for how they are structured? I’d like to create a datadog/grafana esque dashboard to be able to view these easier.  Thanks!

I am trying to join SQL data with csv data.  The field coming from SQL is uint32.  The field in the CSV is Char but converted to uint32.  Im joining the sets on this field and I get no matches.  here is the SQL data:Here is the CSV date after conversion to uint32:Feature Joiner information:Ive tried the following:Changing comparison mode between numeric and automatic - no change Changing both datasets to be char(4) - no change used Feature Merger - no result change.What am I missing here?

I just updated to version 25.2 and my oracle reader is failing and throwing this warning (not an error):An error occurred while fetching from query `SELECT a.*** FROM *** a' : OCI_SUCCESS_WITH_INFO: ORA-24347: Warning of a NULL column in an aggregate functionWhich causes Translation FAILED with 0 error(s) and 1 warning(s) (0 feature(s) output).My colleague tried the same on version 25.1 and whilst he also gets the warning his translation does not stop and he gets all features to work with. (As did I before my update)Ignoring the fact that the view should be fixed, is there a way to continue the translation with all features? Troubleshoot option Ignoring failed readers simply skips the reader and thus returning zero features.Furthermore I did see a few changes regarding oracle in the changelogs but I could not pinpoint which one is referring to this problem.

We are at FME 2024.2, both Form and Flow. I set up an organizational webhook in ArcGIS Enterprise Portal (11.3) to respond to the item sharing action and use a workspace to process the content message. The workspace extracts the item id and then use the HTTPCaller to retrieve the item’s metadata, using this URL parameter -- https://myArcGISURL/portal/sharing/rest/content/items/@Value(id),  Testing of the webhook content message in the FME Form is successful. But when running this workspace on the FME Flow webhook automation, the HTTPCaller gives this error. Is anybody familiar with setting up readers from SmartSheet in FME so that you can potentially make/send updates to the SmartSheet directly from FME?

Hello,I am creating PDF files using FME and am experiencing a serious performance issue (the process is very slow).I have a PDF template that I read and merge with my data so that each ID gets its own template. I use specific X,Y coordinates to write text at the correct positions in the PDF, and then I use the ID in the PDF writer to generate one PDF document per ID that includes both the data and the template.The output is correct and matches my expectations; however, exporting all records with the template takes a very long time.I was thinking to use  the PDF Page Transformer, but rebuilding the pages also takes a significant amount of time.Is there any way to improve performance and make my current solution faster without completely rebuilding the workflow? thanks in advance FME 2021

I’m having trouble finding examples for JSONTemplater when working with a JSON array input attribute.The incoming data looks like this:{"layers": [ { "defaultVisibility": true, "geometryType": "esriGeometryPolygon", "id": 1, "maxScale": 0, "minScale": 0, "name": "Parcels", "parentLayerId": -1, "subLayerIds": null, "type": "Feature Layer" } ]}I’m interested in extracting the first array member id value into an object like this:{"layers": [{"id": 1}]}I can almost get the data into what I want in two steps, first extracting the value with a query json["layers"][0]["id"] and then using the JSONTemplater to use the id value, but bizarrely the value 1 is cast to string “1” byt the templater, which is invalid for downstream work.Anyone know how to make what I want in one step with JSONTemplater?  Thanks.

I’m trying to run some workspace through Task scheduler with FME Form. I’m using an Emailer package and when I run the task as my user, everything is fine. But When I run it as local system it always fails as it can’t find the package. I tried defining Shared folder and setting up environment variables, but couldn’t make it work.As for setting up shared connections it works fine, but not with packages.What would be the right setup for this?
