After a week+ of trial and error I wonder. Have anyone managed to create an FBX-file with FME that contains terrainmodel + ortophoto draped on top. That can be opened WITH materials/texture directly in Navisworks? I have tried all settings - but can not make it work. The files open correctly in FME Data Inspector, Autodesk FBX Reviewe, 3dsmax, Lumion and even Infraworks. And also the export from Infraworks to Navisworks work OK! However I cant seem to be able to open the FBX-file directly in Navisworks - it only shows the terrain with no texture/material. Even when it shows the texture in the "materials" pane. Material is added on a Mesh-group and displays nicely before writing and as mentioned in the other software above.Some stuff I have tried:- All settings on the FBX-writer- Manually changing the scaleuints on the ASCII- file from 1 to 100 to scale to meters instead of default cm. It seems that there is some scaling issues between geometry / material or bug related to mat

Hello, I just upgraded to FME Form 2025.1.2 and am having a problem with the Google Sheets Reader. The Reader previously worked in FME 2024.x, but I am now getting a very ambiguous error whenever I try to read a sheet into a workspace. I literally just upgraded this morning after initially opening the workspace in Form 2024 and successfully running it, so I know nothing has changed on my computer or anything otherwise. Any ideas what I am doing wrong? 

I’m trying to use conditionnal parameters in one of my FME workbenches, and I’m running into a problem where I can’t seem to be able to handle the the <Unused> value that results in trying to read a disabled parameter.Here I have a workbench with 2 parameters, one checkbox that determines whether to verify that values have been reported for the date where the flow is running, and a conditionnal field where one timestamp can be entered (as I normally use FME Flow’s “Event Timestamp” as input for this field).Within FME Form, if FME_LAUNCH_TIME is disabled, it will have the value “＜Unused＞” (it’s a text string, reported as such by PythonCaller and ParameterFetcher). This is… inconveinient because “＜Unused＞” (I can’t even type it in the community forums, the system thinks it’s an HTML tag) is not considered null/missing/empty/not-a-value by conditional operators, but it is also a reserved value, meaning you’re often forbidden from even writing it.I am literally unable to write that f

Hi everyone,on my local machine, I have installed multiple FME versions (2023.2.6, 2024.2.4 & 2025.0). In our company we work extensively with git and i use the Workbench Git integration from the command line. However, if I want to diff Workspaces that were modified with the newer versions (only tested for 2025.0) the command “git diff” launches FME 2023.2.6. This is not useful, because if there are e.g. Transformers that have a newer version, i guess one that is not supported in the older versions, the “Compare Workspace” Tool (2023.2.6 version) cannot display them.Is there a way to specify which version of FME should be used when executing the git diff command? Thanks for your helpCheers!

I have been trying to set up a Package dev environment on a Mac (Sonoma 14.7.7) and it crashes every time I get to the ‘import fmeobjects’ test in the venv.  Just getting that far was a huge hassle.  It appears that the SDK instructions and fme-packager library are geared for Windows. I had to modify the fme_env.pth file to only show the FME Home path and get rid of the rest, for instance.  The issue seems to be that the native FME python 3.13.5 library does not like the Python.org 3.13.5 library, but can’t say for sure. Are Macs even supported for this?  I currently don’t have access to v2025 on Windows.If anyone has had success making packages using MacOS, any insight is appreciated.  Bonus points if you have a good ICP reference! Thanks,-Loren

Hi.I’ve been tasked with projecting data from a local coordinate system to an official one.The local coordinate system transformation can be handled with PROJ, but is not necessarily part of the standard PROJ deployment.Q1: If I add these files to the Reproject/ProjData folder, will FME/PROJReprojector then automatically use them for the transformation ?Q2: Will FME automatically download any necessary (standard) files from PROJ if they’re not found locally ?Q3: And am I correct in understanding that FME 2025.1 and 2025.2 (beta) embeds PROJ 9.5.0 ?Cheers.

Hello everyoneHow can I restart a row counter in FME at the beginning of each year?I have a dataset with a year attribute (e.g., 2025, 2026). I want to generate a rowid that starts at 1 for each new year and increments sequentially.Example: For 2025 → rowid should be 1, 2, 3 … For 2026 → rowid should reset back to 1, 2, 3 … I then want to concatenate the last two digits of the year with the padded rowid to create a WorkOrderID like: 250001, 250002 … 260001, 260002 … Which FME transformers or workflow should I use to reset the counter per year?

Hello everyoneFollowing this article I created (with the help of our IT folks) a OneDrive (Graph) web service with custom client and tenant ID values, and on using the Test feature I can successfully bring up the sign-in dialog, but my connection is repeatedly sent back for admin approval, even though I’m configured as an admin for the app, and the 365 admins approved my login.  On returning to the app I get this:A bit of web research leads me Microsoft’s troubleshooting topics, but I don’t know my way around.  Our 365 environment is pretty locked down, but IT say I should be good for the app.Has anyone been through this and has some tips?  Thanks.

I would like to fill the holes or patch the gaps that are not really holes (see image), but in the output I don’t get any attributes. Why is that, and what is the best method? I try Areaamalgamator but ii cannot retrieve the attributs in output…thank you

I would like to see the following format:The third column is empty, and for the last 4 columns only 1 row is needed. How can I achieve that? I have line segments (vertex only a beginning and end) and want to create polygons for each (including their attributes).  The line segments represent a span between utility structures in a right of way. The goal is create the polygon geometry per span and calculate the acreage in each. The Bufferer works great when the line segments are straight, but when a turn is introduced, I get slivers and overlaps as seen in this screenshot:Notice the overlaps and slivers where the line turns Bufferer Parameters:Bufferer parameters To visualize what I’m trying to create - here is a mock up of where I want the polygons split (red lines were drawn in by me and the green polygon is just a buffer of the dissolved line segments).  The centerline represents the spans.Red lines = where I want the polygons split Doesn't sound too crazy but it’s kicking by butt at the moment.  Any idea or suggestions?

Hi folks,Trying my hand at a workflow that takes certain records from a GIS feature class and writes them into a Spreadsheet XLSX (2025 Work Plan). I’ve renamed the attributes from the GIS feature class schema to match the relevant fields in the 2025 Work Plan Spreadsheet with no issues. When I examine them, they look good in the table.The Spreadsheet has certain Excel-only fields that are not included in the GIS feature class. What I am finding is that while the information is being translated into the 2025 Work Plan Excel Sheet, it is also writing the remainder of the fields from the GIS feature class into columns in the 2025 Work Plan Excel Sheet that are Excel-only.This is despite trying to remove the excess fields in the Writer. And even mapping the fields directly to the corresponding fields in the Excel Writer. I had tried experimenting with the ‘Update’ parameter rather than Insert, but that caused errors.Are there any suggestions to ensure only the specified GIS fields are wri

I have a Flow/Server running, where users access it via SAML authentication. Each user is then assigned to a role with appropriate permissions for a team user belongs to.While users have fmeauthor permissions on Test environment, we have a requirement that users can get read only access on Prod env. With this jobs are run by a system account on the Prod. The challenge here is to find a way to let users be able to view "their" job logs, review configuration or perhaps validate generated data in FME_SHARED_RESOURCE_DIR . Is there a way to configure role in a way so a user can view all jobs, job logs, automations, resources, etc.? For example: speaking about jobs - from what I can see I can either grant Jobs/Access permission (so user can see jobs ran by the user only) or Jobs/Manage (which grants too wide permissions for read only access). Version: FME Server 2022.2.4, Build 22792 - linux-x64

Hello,I am currently learning how FME handles IFC HVAC structures and have been using some sample files from the RWTH-E3D DigitalHub repository (https://github.com/RWTH-E3D/DigitalHub) for my tests.While doing this, I'm having trouble getting FME to read all the features and their geometry correctly. The IFC file itself appears to be valid, as it displays correctly in an external IFC viewer like BimVision. (filename: DigitalHub_FM-HZG_v2.ifc)Here you can see the full HVAC system with pipes, tanks, pumps, etc.However, when I bring it into FME, I get incomplete results, and the behavior is different depending on the version I use.1. With FME(R) 2025.1.1.0 (Build 25615):The reader fails to read most features. The feature count for IfcPipeSegment, IfcTank, IfcPump, etc., is 0. The FME Inspector confirms that nothing is read.2. Is it possible to retrieve the published parameters set against a workspace within an automation, via the Rest API (v4) or another way?I’ve had a quick look at the FME Flow REST API V4 endpoints but cannot see anything obvious. 

For years I’ve successfully used the Geocoder transformer with the ArcGIS Online service. Now with the recent upgrade to Version 2025, it appears to be broken. I’ve read a bunch of recent articles concerning the new (?) ArcGIS connector package, but nothing seems to relate to the Geocoder transformer. Anyone else having similar problems?

Recently upgraded a dev environment to FME Flow 2025.1.1We have some workspaces that use FileCopyWriters to move files.These workspaces still run on FME 2025 but now throw out a warning message for each fileThe move request details the correct move, but then there is a failed to delete message that appears to be saying it can’t delete from the destination not the source. The files are in fact deleted from the source, so it’s actually all working as it should be and as it did previously with the exception of these warning messages. I note that the FileCopyWriter now has a delete option so wonder if this is related somehow. Can anyone confirm they see the same behaviour in 2025.1.1.  The same warning error messages is seen in FME Form 2025.1

I’m using the SchemaMapper and I have a question. After transforming the data, I noticed that in the 'Unexposed Attributes' section, the attributes are correctly mapped, but in the resulting table, the attributes still appear without the mapping. Does anyone know how to ensure that the attributes, after passing through the SchemaMapper, show up correctly mapped in the final table? Is there any additional configuration needed? 

Hello Forum, I have read in 45 tif files into a single FeatureReader via Select Multiple Folders/Files> Add Files. But when I click three dots next to Feature Types to Read, in order to ensure that all 45 files are listed separately, I can only see one listed. And that doesn't appear to be a input file, but instead it just states ‘TIFF’... What I am doing wrong here? I use this function quite often and it usually lists all selected input files, but on this occasion it is not. How do I get Select Feature Types To Read to list all the selected input files?  Thanks,

Hello, I am using FME Form 2024.1 and have the Esri ArcGIS Connector Package (version 3.11.3). I am experiencing some weird datetime functionality. I have a Portal Feature Service Reader (old school) in my workspace and would like to upgrade it to the new ArcGIS Feature Service Reader. Setup was great and reading the data worked well, but I noticed that any datetime attributes that come through are now being read differently. I have attached two screenshots of two datetime attributes that are being read differently depending on their Reader. The old version looks correct, you can generally start to make out the date for a feature (20250906), but the new way of reading looks completely different.Is there a setting I missed when setting up my new reader, or is this some new format? At first I didn’t notice this, but when I went to write the data back to Portal after passing it through my workspace, I got an error regarding these attributes (basically saying they were invalid)DateTimeConv

Hi.After installing the latest beta, all my 2024 and 2025 workbenches have lost all access to our shared server and database connections.How can I restore the access without compromising everything. Will a regenerate work ?The access still works in versions 2020 and 2022.Cheers.
