In FME, I have a File Geodatabase Reader (merged feature type). I would like FME to group features by fme_feature_type and output each feature type to a port.   I have gotten close with the attribute pivoter, but haven't had any luck writing counts.    Does anyone have any suggestions? What I'd Like to accomplish: Almost got it with attribute pivoter:My settings for attribute pivoter:  Thank You

I try to read an IFC with IfcReinforcingBars. All attributes etc gets read in FME correctly, however there is no visible geometry. I can not share the data, but wonder if there are certain elements/geometrire FME does not read from IFC? I tried the 3 different IFC-readers, and also different settings on the reader with no luck. Examining the features in FME Data inspector shows no geometry. But it seems to be aggregates and Geometry Instances. I am new to this and learning but...I have a JSON object and am trying to extract the attributes to load to PostGreSQL and I am hitting my head against a wall. The format of the JSON is generally as so: {    model: 1,    version: 2,    content: [        {            x=1,            y=2        },{            x=3,            y=4        }    ]} I want to output something along the lines of:model, version,   x,    y1,            2,                1,   21,            2,                3,   4 For the life of ne I cannot work it out, to me the documentation and step by steps are not clear. I am using a standard JSON reader. Whatever I try, flattener, fragmentation, I cannot opreate on the content.I had an instance where I managed to get all extracted using an extractor but this would populate the attributes for each item in the content array and concat together to look like this:model, version,   x,    y11,            22,          13,  24 The real JSON is a lot more complicated but at this ve

I have CSVs with over 2 million rows. For some reasons, Reader appears to be dropping some columns , and yet I know Reader recognised they existed because they are missing in the column name order. For example, when columns col3 and col6 are dropped the auto-generated attribute names are col0, col0,col1,col2,col4,col5,col7,col8,col9. I have tried various options in reader but clearly not the right one . There is plenty of RAM and disk space. In some files, the missing columns are blank but I have also seen this happen in files that do not have blanks in missing columns. Some columns have strings enclosed in double-quotes. Any pointers please

I have a NetCDF with below values in each band. How do I go about extracting these values to an attribute using a set of points? They don't seem to come up in attribute list only when I click on a pixel in inspector.  

I've just been thinking about required permissions for a project I've been working on.  The initial workspace is triggered via REST call (jobSubmitter). Depending on success or failure a topic gets triggered which may fire a subsequent workspace. In one of these workspaces it needs to access the FME job history data via a rest call. I've set up a web connection.  My question is, does the initial token I use for the JobSubmitter need to have access to the job table (and web connection)? or are permissions used based on the owner of the subscription workspace or the subscription itself?  Any best practices here? 

I have a SystemCaller transformer that runs a script external to FME, and this script writes out a 2gb csv file.  My aim is to use a CSV Reader and an SQL Writer together to get this in to a database.  The issue I'm facing is that the CSV Reader seems to be a starting point, and I cannot connect the output side of the SystemCaller to the input side of the CSV Reader to indicate that it should run once SystemCaller is complete. Is there a strategy that can be used to overcome this? I'd prefer to keep things in the one workflow if I can.

I have a newbie question.  Can I instruct FME that I wish it to finish all previous steps (transformers), before proceeding with the next step? By way of example I have a workbench that gets a list of files from FTP, downloads those that match a regex pattern (might be a few hundred mb), unzips them, and then needs to call a SystemCaller for some custom code to run. I need all the FTP files to be downloaded, and all the files to be unzipped before I run the next bit of code. FME wants to slide each file right the way through the workflow individual of each other. So, I might wind up collecting 10 files before I can run the SystemCaller, but I do need the 10 files present.  Something along the lines of "If there's 10 things on the input side, you need 10 things on the output side before proceeding".

We have a shared web and database connections directory, into which public FME connections go. Our service account that runs overnight tasks (via Windows Server 2016 task scheduler) has explicit permissions to this directory, but cannot see/use connections unless they are embedded in workspaces. Interactive login is disabled for this account, but I'm wondering if I might need to log in as the account and set default paths for FME so it can see the connections? Alternatively, any other ideas for why this may not be working? In the current case the connection is to ArcGIS Online and there is no apparent option to embed the connection in the workspace. The connection was made public as it was created.

I am having issues connecting to one of our elastic databases. The error I am getting is Failed to obtain any schemas from reader 'ELASTICSEARCH' from 1 datasets. This may be due to invalid datasets or format accessibility issues due to licensing, dependencies, or module loading. Any ideas what how to fix.

Hello,FME Server 2019.2 build 19801 running with FME CloudI think that these two settings for a Trigger in an Automation configuration should be equivalent, but the left setting - Schedule Type "Basic" didn't trigger any action actually, whereas the right setting - "Repeat On Interval" is working as expected.Am I missing something? Or it was a defect on the "Basic" type and has been fixed already in a newer version?

Inserting a KMl into FME desktop results in a schema-less reader. Which steps do I have to take to convert its attribute (values) to e.g. shapefile or fgdb?

I'm trying to export feature layers from ArcGIS Online to Geodatabase, then upload the Geodatabase to Google Drive. I'm using a 'Choice with Alias (multiple)' user parameter to select and export one or more feature layers. If I select one feature layer my FME script works fine. If I select more than one layer then I get a geodatabase lock error while uploading the Geodatabase to Google Drive. This is the error message: PermissionError: [Errno 13] Permission denied: 'C:\\\\MyDirectory\\\\MyGeodatabase.gdb\\\\_gdb.JD2344.18360.9116.sr.lock'Error encountered while calling method `input'GoogleDrive_Geo_CALLER (PythonFactory): PythonFactory failed to process feature  I'm hoping someone can suggest a solution. Is it possible to add the coordinates from the coordinate extractor transformer to a writer? Like example from coordinate extractor column _indices{}.x (64 bit real) into a shapefile with column x. I tried changing data type from double, float, char... but the line connecting the transformer to writer simply will not connect to each other.

Hi, this is a really basic question, but none of the other answers I've read have quite fit. What I want to do is simple - find the percentages of these two values:The answer would be NoBlank - 78.22% , BothBlank - 21.78%I'm aware the trick is to find a way to sum the Individual ID.total_count column in the Expression Evaluator, but "@sum@value(individual ID.total_count)' doesn't work, only returning the original values.  This so frustrating because I'm sure it's very simple.

Hi, I want to count values for individual fields in excel. There are 110 fields. I want total counts column by column for all values that are not missing, empty, or null.

I have a workspace that reads from a spreadsheet and dynamically makes attribute names based on a date column, with the values of the attributes being the services offered on that date, as shown.While the Feature Inspector sees these attributes, they are not exposed in the canvas and the writer is not aware of them, even when I make a dynamic writer and set Schema Sources as "Schema from first feature". Doesn't work with AttributeExposer either, as it does not see these dynamically generated attributes.The spreadsheet will have different dates every year. Is there a way to write these attributes dynamically into the writer?Thanks

Hi I'm new to FME and have been unsuccessful in figuring this out.My workspace originally had a choice user parameter where the user could choose a single string (eg. AA) which was then used to read GeoTIFFS that have that string in their filename.Now I want to have multiple choice, and I have changed the user parameter to be a Choice (Multiple). So the parameter ends up looking something like this: AB EB TTI'm trying to figure out how I can now have the workspace loop through and execute the transformers on each choice one at a time.TIA

Hi I would like to make boundries around my pointclouds.That way I can see if all my pointclouds cover an area.  I only know hullaccumulator, but that only makes a bounding box. See the picture below. I want the red boundry and not the blue one that hullaccumulator makes.I'm trying the pointcloudcoerser before the hullaccumulator, but I don't know if that works and it takes sooooo looong... Is there a better way? 

Hi everyone,I have an output from a PointCloudCombiner with 4 components (x, y, z, _distance). The _distance attribute comes from a NeighborFinder. What I want to do with the point cloud is to replace the z component of each point by its _distance value. I tried to use the PointCloudExpressionEvaluator after the PointCloudCombiner but _distance doesn't appear in the component list. I only have access to it as an attribute (not a component) and then get the same z value for each point of the point cloud... But when I check the PointCloudCombiner output in DataInspector I can see by clicking on each point that there is a _distance component that changes with each point. How can I have access to this component for further processing ? Thanks !

I have a shapefile containing points distributed every 5 meters in a regular mesh of 100 rows x 100 columns. I have to create a shapefile with points of this regular mesh located every 10 meters, or 20 meters, ... (always a number multiple of 5) to get a sparse mesh from the original. I there any FME Transformer that can help to do this task?Any suggestion or idea would be really appreciated. Thank you !  

HiI'm hoping someone can help me with a query.I have a SQL Server view that i am opening in FME; this contains both commercial and residential addresses The view has 2 reference columns, one contains a Council Tax reference, the other a Business Rates reference Some of the residential records do not have a Council Tax reference as they are not live properties; the reference column is NULL for these I have used a NullAttributeMapper to change the NULL value to New Build, but all records with a NULL value are being changed, including the Commercial records Is there a way of using the NullAttributeMapper to query 2 columns in the table so only NULL records that are residential. Or is there another transformer that would be more suitable?thanksSimon

Hello,I am new to FME. I want to load multiple shapefiles into Oracle spatial tables. I just have a problem with the extents. I would like to get them from shapefiles and use them as parameter in the Oracle writer but I don't know how to do it.I know the BoundsExtractor transformer but I don't know how to store xmin, xmax, ymin and ymax values as parameters, even more with multiple shapefiles.Thanks for your help!

Hello,I'm working on a French address table. A column contains a string with the abbreviated street type and street name, e.g. "AV DES CHAMPS-ELYSEES". I divided it and I built a list with its elements: AV, DES, CHAMPS-ELYSEESI now need to know if the first item in the list is a correct street type. For that, I have to compare it with about 200 values of a reference file, also stored in a list: AV, BD, CHE, IMP...I think I have to use PythonCaller but I don't know how to go about it.
