Hello everyone, I made my database connections public for all users in my organisation using the guidelines described in this post. Although I succeeded in making the connections public, every user still individually needs to adjust his or her Connection storage parameters in the FME Options. Just like any other change to the default options. I was wondering if there is a way to already configure all FME options upon installation of the software , some sort of 'my company's FME configuration' file which overwrites the default settings. So the user does not need to configure anything themselves. All information is greatly appreciated,  

Hi, Safers! I read Text Files as Whole text at once but I need convert files not in UTF-8 to UTF-8 before reading. This is because FME needs to know the encoding when it reads the file.  I figure one easy way to do this is to store the files to a temp folder and via the SystemCaller run some windows command to convert the files not already in UTF-8 (this can be more than thousands of files so preferably I can convert only the files that needs converting) before reading them with the Text File reader with Character Encoding set to UTF-8. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to solve this in an easy way? Preferably within the FME script if possible... Kind regards, Peter

What I am trying to get out of it is sorting the dataset by days when it rained over, and under a certain value (that would be a sum total of rainfall in mm for each day).Any suggestion on how to achieve this are muchly appreciated.Cheers.

Hi all,I've run into a bit of an issue where I've got to figure out the following. Bear with me, as my thought process is still recovering - Each month Postcodes and data come to us, and these are in a zip file.I read in the starting path with the "Path" reader as the names are not the same each month. That's the key for this approach. It could be something like "Postcodes_Nov20.zip" for example.Parsing that detail, using the Unzipper, I unzip the contents to a working folder.#I feed these through, with the path_windows value, to the FeatureReader, as it holds the complete paths in; eg - Z:\\FME\\Working Folder\\Postcodes_Nov20\\data\\Part1.csvThese are then connected to a FeatureReader, but it's just parsing the same file path, and not the CSV files. I've attached the workspace, as well as the FeatureReader parameters, as this has stumped me and is just the start of a longer process. Any help is appreciated. I have a workspace that takes one published parameter to run through. I want to set up a FME server weekly automation, and each weekly run includes running the workspace multiple times, each with a different parameter value. The parameter values are stored in a text file. Seems to be simple? But I can't think of a good way to do this. Still new to the FME server automation. I am using FME 2019.2.1, both desktop and server.

I'm wondering how I can make a request with SSL using the ArcGIS Online Feature Service reader. No matter what I do, FME continnue sto try to access via HTTP instead of HTTPS. I'm reading a features service hosted in ArcGIS Online into FME Workbench 2020 64 bit. Last week I was able to connect to a service using the Feature Service reader without issue. But our admin team converted the ESRI organization to require HTTPS only, which seems to coincide with the 403 error I'm receiving. I've remade the web connections, tried to reconfigure the feature service URL to use HTTPS, with no luck. I receive this error This may be a temporary server issue, or insufficient permissions. The error code from the server was '403' and the message was: 'SSL Required'Failed to obtain any schemas from reader 'ARCGISONLINEFEATURES' from 1 datasets. This may be due to invalid datasets or format accessibility issues due to licensing, dependencies, or module loading. S

If the "create with oid" is set in an earlier version of FME, both desktop and server still reads this. And you now dont have the option to remove it, unless you open the workbench in a earlier version. I'm using build 20202, and I just noticed cause we migrated to a newer PostGis server version which dont support OIDS. The parameter exists in 2019.2.

I am new to lists and xml in FME and having a bit of trouble. I am using the XMLTemplator to populate an XML tag using a list value. The following works as it should.{for $Contact_id in fme:get-list-attribute("Contact{}")return <NRWContact>{$Contact_id}</NRWContact>}However I am also using a different list which has been produced using the list builder and the name of the list is appended on the end so can get it to recognise it to get the value.{for $ExcelColumnName_id in  {fme:get-list-attribute("list{}.ExcelColumnName")}return<Location>$ExcelColumnName_id</Location>}This just returns  “<Location>$ExcelColumnName_id</Location>” and not the value from the list  e.g <Location>Column B</Location>”. Hopefully it’s a simple tweak but I have not stumbled across it yet or found the same thing on the community.

Hi,I have a dataset containing point cloud terrain data and a point dataset. The point dataset is buffered using an attribute in the dataset and extruded using another attribute, but I can´t seem to get the extruded features to drape to the terrain data. What am i doing wrong here?

Hi, I have troubles opening the attached geopackage, and I can't figure out what is wrong with it. It opens nicely in QGIS (where it displays the rasters) and with a SQLite client I'm able to access the tables.  The error is : "OGCGEOPACKAGE reader: `IHC Krimpen online - Progress - GRD - Version 1_20200409 204806.gpkg' exists but could not be opened. File contents may be invalid, or the file format may not be supported"Using FME 2020.1

I have upgraded my Mac to the latest OS (Big Sur 11.0.1) and at the same time moved to a SSD system disk. As a result FME Workbench will not run at all. I am running version 2020.2 but older versions will not load either. I've tried reinstalling FME but the same problem occurs. I do not see any error message displayed. Is FME compatible with Big Sur?

I am trying to create a boundary from contour data to define three different areas. I split the areas using test filter and tried AreaBuilder. It created polygons for closed lines. But It doesn't create outline boundary.

Asking on behalf of a client: they're writing to Oracle and getting an error regarding an UTF-8 string that can't be converted to Windows-1252. I can't seem to find a way to set the encoding on the Oracle writer, is this handled in the database definition itself (i.e. outside of FME)?

I have a Custom Transformer with a loop in it. It contains Blocking Transformers, so it is linked. I would like to pass the number of iterations to the main Workspace, but I do not find how to expose the Attribute that I have set in the Advanced properties of the Custom Transformer:the only reference that I found is: https://knowledge.safe.com/questions/4722/accessing-iteration-coutn-parameter-is-it-possible.html of @gio. Do you remember how you solved it in the end? Thanks in advance.

Hi There, I'm having some trouble of figuring out an approach to detect features that have "regressed".My data looks something like this:<Fruit> <Batch>Orange, 1Apple, 1Pear, 1Orange, 2Apple, 2Pear, 2Orange, 3Pear, 3 So look at this as Batch 1 had all three fruit, batch 2 had all three fruit, but in batch 3, Apple is missing.What I am interested in is knowing when a fruit went missing, specifically in a sequential view. Meaning, I don't really care about the relationship between batch 1 and 3, but I want to know that between batch 2 and 3, Apple went missing. So even if I have 10 batches, I only really care if I have "pineapple" in batch 8, but missing in 9. I hope my obscure example makes sense and please let me know in case any additional information is needed. Thanks a lot! 

I have a csv of locations points tracking a utility vehicle. Each point is denoted by the "POSITION" number, and they are grouped by a "TRIP" attribute. The LineBuilder transformer will either A) Make a single line connected all points or B) if I group by Position it will leave as points.  I've done this in Python by using a combination iteration, to use a for loop to connect each point to the one in front of it, but I am unsure what transformers I would use in FME. Additionally, I have yet to figure out how to access and output my features using the PythonCaller.  How would I go about connecting each point to the next individually?

Hello, I am trying to connect to our Enterprise Geodatabase. This used to work for quite a long time using FME 32 bit (several older FME versions). Using FME 64 bit (on the same machine) produced an error like this:Could not open the Enterprise Geodatabase. The error number from ArcObjects is: '-2147216028'. The error message from ArcObjects is: {Keine No SDEHOME-Umgebungsvariable festgelegt} Please ensure the connection parameters are correct (server=`sde', instance=`....', user=`....', password=`***', database=`', version=`SDE.DEFAULT') Now we have FME 2020.2 64 bit and I don't have the 32 bit version anymore.I created a database connection file (*.sde) using ArcCatalog on my machine. There, I can see the database and connect to it. I can also open the connection in ArcCatalog directly using my sde file. But I can't use the same connection file to connect a reader (Format: Esri Geodatabase (ArcSDE Geodb Raster Dataset)) in FME. Three colleagues

Hi I have a shape file with points and a shape file with polygons.I want per point a csv file with all the polygons containing that point.  It looks like this: 1,photo31,photo41,photo71,photo9.... My workbench works, until a point that lays in 2 polygons. The polygon will only be added in the first csv file and not in both. I tried group by name and group by fotonamen, but that doesn't work.

Hi All, I am trying to merge several raster tiles into a single one using RasterMosaicker. Unfortunately, in the output raster you are able to see horizontal and vertical white lines as well as a horizontal black line at the bottom. Please note these are not present after georeferencing the tiles and is only after the used of the RasterMosaicker transformer that they appears.  Is there a transformer I need to use prior this or are the parameters within the RasterMosaicker the ones need altering?  Any ideas welcome! Thanks,Ana
