Hi there,I tried to write some data to a ArcGIS Portal feature service using the new writer.  It skipped my feature as globalid was NULL, missing or empty:So i fell back to the old writer and this writes features fine. It sees that globalids are read-only and ignores them, along with the other ArcGIS server managed fields:I imported the same layer from the feature service using the writer - import layer approach, and fed the same data into both of them in the same workspace.  One works, one doesn’t.Am I missing something?Thanks,Marc

I’m looking to read in a load of word documents that contain tables of information. I’d like to extract all the text from those tables so that I can then search the text for specific information. I’ve tried using the Microsoft Word Reader and the MSWordStyler but I’m only seeing the paragraph text come through to the attributes. Any ideas how to extract the table text?  

I have a RUN_DATE field in a File Geodatabase Feature Class Attribute Table. In this field is the current date (today’s date). I want to use a Tester after the DateTimeConverter Transformer to select only the values in the RUN_DATE field that are today’s date. I have tried this and get no passes, all failed. Hello,I have encountered some issues with a workspace that I have not seen addressed previously in the forum. The issue concerns exporting to an SQL server database where the file format is interpreted as GeometryCollection when it is essentially only MultiPolygon at most.This is what my workflow has looked like. I have a workspace that retrieves line segments from an SQL server, which are then combined and the attributes processed. These lines are generalized and buffered to form areas. I then use Dissolver to merge overlapping areas with a Group By function based on a common ID (the field INSATSNR in my screenshot). However, there are several areas with the same ID that are located in different geographical locations and do not overlap. Therefore, I use an Aggregator with a Group By function on the same ID. Hello,We are trying to set up a SharePoint web connection to use in FME at my workplace. Together with competent IT staff, we have been trying on our own for over six months without success. Hello, its me again.So I’m playing with changing excel documents in Form 2024.1 and its going superb, except from the fact that when Form writes out my changed excel it adds an @ in front of some of the formulas. So for example the formula that gets read in as:=XLOOKUP(blabla)Gets written out as:=@XLOOKUP(blabla)Which then makes the whole outcome excel document breaks.I have ran this with caching and see that at last cache before writing then the formulas are intact, so this must happen in the writer or that the excel gets written out in some manner that my excel setup *misunderstands* it?As always, all comments are welcomed (as long as you not a person just looking to score some points by copy/pasting what AI said the problem was).-Hlynur

Hello yet again.This time I am experimenting with a complex Microsoft Excel document, its basically a calculation file that contains quite a lot of sheets, macros, references and formulas. Idea is that instead of sharing the excel document with the people that need to use it that I would just host it on our Flow, people would then have an option to fill out some published parameters in a flow app and then get a single excel sheet returned with their results (cutting out all the underlying datasheets and formulas and macros etc).Or to sum it up: I have a complex excel with formulas, read that excel in FME, change values in cells in FME, write out an excel from FME that would then recalibrate/recalculate based on those changed values.So I have figured out how to single out cells in the excel table where (basically using counter, and tester for that single number, link to attribute manager where the new value can be inserted to replace the old one, back to a FeatureMerger to put the new v

Is there a resource/database somewhere that has a list of what FME release each version of a transformer was initially released/updated in? You can get it pretty easily for transformers on the Hub, but not for inbuilt transformers.I’ve had a dig through the various Python APIs and I haven’t come across anything (doesn’t mean something doesn’t exist mind you!).Each version of FME does come with the previous versions of the transformer, otherwise this would break the backwards compatibility of the software.

I believe there is the possibility to configure user parameters in a way that they take a local path for in/output and when they are going to be published the provided alternative for the FME Flow resources path is used.I cannot find my bookmark on how to do this and did not come to anything useful when searching the net.Does somebody have a tutorial on how to configure the user parameter that it uses the local resources when run in FME Form and the FME Flow resources when run in Flow?

Hi I’m currently trying to acces the documentation of the API I'm making using data virtualization. The Swagger documentation page loads, but it seems to fail to get the correct server on which I have made the API. Due to this I can’t test any of the API calls. Hello. Fairly new to FME, so might be a bit over my head.I’m trying to create a validation workflow that compares 50+ files against 3 main ones. They all have the same structure, except the geography field name that is to be used for the comparison.The 50+ files are all named with a similar structure > final_DOMAIN_GEOG_Distance or final_DOMAIN_GEOG_Driving. Pretty much the files are divided by domain and 3 geographies.The 3 main files are a compilation of all domains and GEOG. My thought process was to have 2 csv readers (1 for distance and 1 for driving) and a few parameters that would read the user choice for domain and geography and read the csv accordingly. I have two issues:the parameters for file path seem to work but the csv schema remains the same (eg, it’s reading the original reader before adding the parameters), so it doesn’t update the field name with the geography, when it’s different form the original one is it possible to create parameters that can be used in the tra

Hello FME brains trust. I have a situation where I need to run a regular update that takes a supplied point and looks up a corresponding lot and plan (cadastre) and add it as an attribute to the point. I am currently using the Point on Area overlay transformer, which works, but the updates are only one or two points, and our parcels layer has over 3 million features, which takes quite a bit of time to read and run.I am hoping that there might be an alternative that basically runs a spatial query on the server side and only brings in the intersecting parcels or any other options that might help me streamline this process.

Hi Everyone, I have a java-based custom transformer built with the FME plugin SDK.  I created an HTML help file for my custom transformer, and I would like to link it to the transformer, so it can be displayed in FME Form when I right-click on the transformer and click help.  Where does the HTML file need to be placed, and where/how do tell the transformer about the help file?  Do I need to add something to the .fmw or the .java file, or both?  If so, do you have examples or documentation on what code needs to be added? Thank you for your time!

Hello,I would like to decimate my point cloud to keep one point every meter for example.I tried PointCloudSpatialThinner but i suggest it extrapolates the coordinates to fit the best to the original cloud point.The problem I have is I can’t change z-coordinates. Hi, I am getting this error:An error occurred while attempting to insert a row into the table ‘ABC’ using a cursor. The error number from ArcObjects is: '-2147217323'. The error message from ArcObjects is: {The cursor has been invalidated by an edit operation.} I am experiencing an issue when trying to insert features into a feature class stored in an enterprise geodatabase. Specifically, I am both reading from and writing to the same dataset. I haven't encountered this problem before, but it began after I set the Feature Operations to "Upsert" while updating existing records and inserting new records that are not yet present in the database. I suspect that performing inserts and updates simultaneously may be causing a disruption with the cursor. I also attempted to use the Feature holder, but I received the same error. This disruption is affecting the automated process. Does anyone know what might be causing this error or how to fix it? I would greatly appreciate any assistance!Thank

I am having some difficulty normalizing reverse geocodes for comparison from one Geocoding Service to another (in this case OpenStreetMap).  The _address that is returned can pretty easily split up into a list or separate attributes with most services as they are consistent. However, OSM’s _address has extra information and parsing it to be consistent with anything else has been a challenge.  See below where instead of having an AddressNumber, a null, or a 0, I get Falmouth Public Schools & Moonlight Meadery in the 1st position.  For that matter, I sometimes get supplementary place names such as Seaport & South Boston when expecting a Town in a particular separation/position.  So it throws off looking in any specific list due to the inconsistent placement.Some are normal, but many either don’t contain the expected info, or add info that is unnecessary for my needs.What I want to make into attributes: AddressNumber  Street  Town  State  ZipCodeOpenStreetMap gives me this in a te

I would like to add the following folder, named "moi”, to my top level resource folders, and add it to the list in the picture below. I couldnt find that much information about it online, and i tried something, but it didnt work. I located the folder in the FME Flow program files, and added the folder, but that didnt work. It doesnt show up in the top level resources list, Does anyone know if it is possible to do this? And how?  Thanks in advance!  

Hi everyone,I’m running into an issue when using the FeatureReader transformer.When I read a table through the FeatureReader, the attributes are not exposed  However, if I read the same table directly using a normal FME reader (through SDE or GDB), all the attributes are properly exposed.Is there a setting I’m missing with the FeatureReader that prevents the attributes from being available? Or is this expected behavior when using it compared to a standard reader?Thanks in advance for any advice!

Hello my fellow FME’ers,Probably I'm missing something or I stumbled upon a bug, but I can't get something to work like I expect. Maybe someone can point out what I'm missing. Workspace snippetMy data is going trough a Matcher to find features that belong to the same object. I then sort them on _match_id and an attribute called lighted.  Result of Sorter_4As a result I have something above. If lighted is null it will be the first feature.In the AttributeManager I use Adjacent Features to look 1 feature further and have the following condition statement for a new attribute called _filter. The second one is another attempt to get the same result, but that also doesn't work. Conditional statement Alternative conditional statement I triedI expect the two <null> values in the screenshot above to get the value ‘yes’, but it doesn't. What am I missing here?

I’m working through the Create a Manual Endpoint in Data Virtualization – FME Support Center however when it comes to the Make a Request from the Documentation section and clicking the ‘try it out’ button in the Swagger page, I get the following 401 response:Is this related to the time which the error lists as 15:48 GMT, however we’re on BST in the UK at the moment so it’s actually 16:48?  If so, how can I resolve it? Otherwise is it a simple authentication issue? - the tutorial says “the EnvionData API is authenticated by default” so I’m a little confused by this.

Hi,I’m having trouble with AmazonBedrockConnector and I believe it’s an error with how the transformer has been authored.The issue is that the transformer processes and outputs the square of the number of input records. If I input 13 records, it will process 169 (to AWS Bedrock!), and then output them. If I input 313 records, it will attempt to process and return 97,969 records (I’ve found this out the hard way).By embedding the transformer and then editing it, I was able to view the flow of information from a source workspace. The issue seems to be in the calling and validation of AWS Inference Profiles, in that they are checked to be active, and then joined back to the original input records (obviously to allow error checking and rejection). As downloaded, the transformer looks like this:Note that the 13 input records are joined back against each other to create 169 records that are ulimately sent to the Bedrock API. I can see no valid reason to keep all of the original records out o
