Dear FME community,is there a way to change the line width in the Inspector? I assume that there isn't currently such function, because it was suggested here as well:https://knowledge.safe.com/content/idea/28191/inspector-transformer-parameters-for-line-width-an.htmlHowever, perhaps somebody has an idea how to "style" the lines in the workbench, so that they are displayed differently in the inspector. I want to change for example the line width and the appearence, e.g. to have continious or dotted lines. There is for example the MapInfoStyler which we use for MapInfo data sets, but the style is only displayed in MapInfo itself, not in the FME Inspector. Our purpose is the distinguish the original lines of the former dataset and the transformed lines, which are displayed on top of each other in the Inspector. The only way I know is to buffer them, to make the one data set wider, but then they are no longer lines which is not suitable for us.Perhaps somebody has an idea of

Hi User's,I have a Workspace that needs to search in ( Folder and Subfolders ) the files in shapefiles Polygon01.shp and Polygon02.shp. Two differents Folders:C:\\SAFE_Base_Conhecimento\\ZIP_Procura_arquivo\\Files\\Folder_01C:\\SAFE_Base_Conhecimento\\ZIP_Procura_arquivo\\Files\\Folder_02The Folder_02 doens't has any files, the folder is empty.When the Wokspace is run a error happened after the transformer FeatureReader. The reason is because didn't find any SHP files in Folder_02.My question: Its possible to configure the FeatureReader to run and search SHP files without this error? Or has another option before to configure and check if the Folder has any SHP files?I'm use FME Desktop 2016.Thanks in Advance,

Is there any why to upgrade version of old translator to new(current version)? not by delete and re insert new one.I have some workspace writen by old version of FME, so I want use them in new version of fme, but I found some times can not work fine, so I want find a way to upgrade to these workspace to new version quick and easy.

Hi All,I have a DBF table/geodatabase table wherein for each feature there is 7 entry. there are two ID fields one is the feature ID and There is another field where some ID's are given called IN_GRP these are given by source provider. I want to create files from this which has 60 feature each with same IN_Grp and with all the 7 entries of that feature.

My desktop administrator has installed the FME on the PC with Esri ArcGIS desktop. I'm not the administrator of the PC. After FME desktop installed, the FME Data Interoperability is listed in the Esri ArcGIS desktop extension for the administrator. When I login, my ArcGIS extension list doesn't include the FME data Interoperability. I'm not the administrator on the PC. Thus I don't have right to install any software. How can I use the FME Data Interoperability installed by the administrator in the ArcGIS desktop? Thanks in advance.Helen

I am sing FME 2016 and have polygons dataset that are spread in an irregular fashion. I want to create a fishnet(grid) wherein the geometry is as per the density of the polygons. So, first of all, I have to convert the polygons to points, so that the original polygon file is not occupied by 2 different grids and then create the tiles thing and save the output in multiple polygon gdbs (outputs as per the tile). it would be really amazing if the number of polygons in one grid could be controlled.Thanks.

Hi.I have a workspace that uses the ArcSDE Writer. It works perfectly in my FME Desktop, because I have ArcGIS installed in the same machine.But now I have to upload it to a FME Server. In that machine, there is not any ArcGIS installation and I've been told that there is no plan of installing one. So... my workspace won't work.I'm aware of the ArcGIS Legacy writer, but it's an option that they don't want to use due to its lack of maintenance.So... is there any other solution? I've been searching in this forum and I haven't found anything else.Thanks for any help provided!

I have an Excel file, a cell with a hyperlink to "Filename.KML" which does open the Google Earth.But I'm looking for a way to have the hyperlink to open the KML and auto select the kml_id (Name Tag) within the Navigation Tree which in return will zoom to the location.

Hi, in the Inspector, I am trying to connect to http://wxs.ign.fr/geoportail/r/wms. I have tried with several EPSG values, but none work. Does anyone have experience with connecting to the IGN France API? Is it possible to use the topographic maps or orthophotos as a background? There are many layers available.

I have a workspace in FME Workbench that was previously working correctly. Now when I run it I see that features are being read in but are not properly interacting with the transformers. For example, features are no longer being merged by the FeatureMerger. The workspace has not changed at all and still completes but the results are incomplete. Are there any things that I should look for?

hi,I have FME 2015.1 Desktop, I try to update attributes of some geodatabse feature class, (only attributes not the geometry) However FME updates is Very slow, may be 1 record in 2 or 3 seconds. I made a Non Spatial connection to the same geodatabase then the whole update process finished in few seconds. Please let me know what can I do to improve the speed using the ArcSDE connection because I want the version editing and not non spatial connection. Please note that my geodatabase has geometric network in it and it is ArcFM geodatabase. Thanks

HiFirst time using .obj files and i can build the mesh as a single item. How would i go about access each individual point geometry? I have tried a few things i could think of but nothing worked.Anyone know much about obj files?thanks

The source BLOCOS_BS ( blue polygons )has 3 polygons and i need to generate 3 outputs with GRIDS from another source data BLOCOS_TOTAL ( red polygons ). My machine has 64GB RAM and FME is really good at using it. But when I run a complex data intensive job in FME it happily eats away about 55-58GB RAM which really limits my other tasks.I have read about the `FME_ENGINE_MEMORY_REDLINE` but it seems like I have to try to set it to somewhere around 0-0.5. But I would like to force FME desktop to limit itself to ex. 32GB. Is that possible?  

Sometimes I think it would be fun to be an FME transformer, sitting inside the FME engine, waiting to be given work to do.  I can even imagine each transformer being a different human being, each with a unique human name.  There's Alf, who is very popular with the GIS users; and Mary, who - in short - I rarely ever meet. Ian likes to break things into smaller pieces; while Lee turns them inside-out. Max goes to extremes to find the information you want; but Ben is not detail-oriented (quite the opposite) Ava likes to do her own thing - in a limited way; while Tom sticks to his job with military precision. Both Uma and Ann have an obsession with size and shape; and Dan comes from a large family, with 8 or 9 siblings.  But who are these eleven, anthropomorphic, transformers?
